They lost my box for a whole month. My box arrived 28 days late. I called both the “ship from” and “ship to” as well as the general help line repeatedly to check on the status and no one could tell me where it was. I ended up having to buy a lot of essential items that I now have duplicates of. I was starting a new job in a new city and uhaul added tons of extra stress. Turns out it had arrived in the next town over, but no one knew that until a whole month later. They could only refund me the amount I had paid but couldn't compensate me beyond that, even though they cost me more than the price of the box when having to replace things that weren't actually missing. When calling, employees were rude or apathetic at best. You should honestly have a way of tracking exactly where your uboxes are to avoid this kind of disastrous human error.

The back slider door of my 5 x 8 trailer opened up on the highway while I was driving at a high rate of speed. It got jammed on the roof. I was able to force it down to close it. When I brought it to the assistant managers attention he called me a liar. Terrible Customer Service. I could've lost everything on that highway.

There needs to be more training on what customer service entails at this location. Simply sticking out your hand and expecting the guest to know what you want is not good service. Representatives should not assume a guest knows the check in and out process. And when explaining the process speak with I formed knowledge. The representatives here are not informed

No place to drop off key!! Out of respect for uhaul to insure no one could steal truck i locked key in truck put keys under driver side seat. They charged me 20.00 late fee After hours drop off. Then 50.00 because i locked keys in truck to prevent truck from be stolen. Had they had a drop off key slot i would have put it in there. I drive for Allied Van Lines for 40 years. I rent on avg. 30 trucks a year for last 35 years to move our customers into homes or condos or apts. In this case this customer moved to downtown Seattle into a high rise. So i have never had an issue dropping of a truck like this. The truck has wrong gas cap. The computer on dash says check gas cap so i did took off put back on. Computer says it again. Safety hazard on uhaul. Smell of gasoline while driving. So on Aug 1st i did a courtesy call to let them know truck was dropped off at 5 pm. Gas returned to amount as when i left. Parked truck next to other 26 ft trucks lock key in truck prevent anyone from stealing truck because there is not a drop off key box. And after all that i got charge over 100.00 more than i should have. I spend a lot of money yearly renting and buy supplies from uhaul. This location is by the worst. I take time to give positive reviews. It takes a lot for me to give negative reviews as i know how valuable reviews can hurt a company. However i will still continue to rent from uhaul just not this location!!!! Very disappointed in there way of handling this rental.

First, I was not able to take the trailer because the light would not work. I had the truck checked out and everything was fine. Second, I was told I would not have to come back in to cancel the contract and I would not be charged. However, my card was still charged.

When you are given a vehicle with 1/4 tank of gas and then charged $30 on top of the elevated price per gallon to fill it up, it's excessive. I don't mind paying extra to fill it up, however a $30 fee. I won't recommend you to anyone.

I understand that when I book a UHaul truck and commit to a set time to return the truck, that UHaul will rebook the truck, if there is time and or opportunity to do so. What caused concern is that during the transaction of picking up the truck I was told TWICE about what would happen and what I would be charged if I failed to bring the truck back on time. The first time was okay, I get it, you need to warn customers about this issue. BUT TWICE? Seems to be a bit much. And of course, then I was frustrated because of the customer service.

This U-Haul does not have after hours drop off. I spent one hour late at night, trying to find somewhere to put the keys. There is no drop box as this location has high crime. I was told to bring the truck back in the morning which was impossible as I was leaving town immediately. The store manager has his number on the door for after hours service but he answered my call from a bar and then hung up and then kept sending my calls to voicemail. I would never recommend this location. I ended up hiding the keys on the truck and prayed no one stole it.

First I scheduled online to get the 8:00am truck in a Sunday. I got confirmation that I was good to go however, Sunday morning at 8:00 when I got there no keys. Looked at the website with login and now it says for a hand drop off. That means 9:00 plus the time it also took to go thru the process that I already did online. Then we get the keys to a truck that's blocked in and no one knows where the keys to their truck blocking it in are. So I get a second truck but it too is blocked. On to the third that had a 1/4 tank of gas and ran and drive like garbage. No one gave any confessions for the huge waste of time. Me being late to my other appointments after sue to them being messed up. Screwed my entire day up. Thanks Uhaul for that.

Kyle provides excellent customer service during my transaction! I'm so happy with this location, it's clean, the storage units are easy to access, parking to load/unload has been easy, carts to transport boxes, etc are always available! Charged me for 4 gallons of gas after I brought it back at the same level I got it. Also charged me $14 a day for Safe Move when I didnt select that option . Couldnt return the truck at a different location without it costing double the amount of the rental.Seems like they were trying to bully me every way they could.

My unit was robbed. I was not called till 11am the next morning, I was told the alarm didn't go off, I was told the cameras were covered so they didn't see the suspect who broke in. I told them I would move my stuff out buy the end of the month. They didn't charge me for the remainder of the month. However they double locked my unit every time I came in to move stuff out. I tried to have this issue resolved and I kept getting the "we really don't know what happened". I have never had such a bad experience with storage. My shed was the only one that sustained damage and robbed. This place was advertised to be secure. I felt singled out and targeted. I lost some very Valuable things that were extremely sentimental to me, and thanks to the lack of security at uhaul, I CAN NEVER RECOVERY MY LOSS.

Truck's engine light was on and was told they didn't have any other trucks. The furniture and appliance dolly's were not available like I had reserved and the staff did not tell me that they were not in the back like I had been told so I had to go to another location to get dolly separately and return separately. It was not 24/7 like advertised either and no signage out except an 11.5x8 paper taped to the window where the key slot should have been. Absolutely horribly run operation.

The service inside the store when picking up the vehicle was great. The service at return was also good. The really bad part about my experience is that I had reserved a 15ft truck three days prior. On the day of, I get a phone call 30 minutes after I was supposed to pick up the vehicle stating that it was overbooked and that the best the could do was to get a 10ft truck the next day. I had already schedule people to help move. fortunately, I didnt have to move completely out by that day or else the I would have received a significant financial penalty of which was out of my control and it was due to Uhaul overbooking trucks.

made reservation for 26' for tuesday, was given a reservation for a 15' on monday. when asked for actual needs of 26' on tuesday for 2nd time, reservation was made for wednesday. after asking for actual needs for 3rd time, all was confirmed but was given the incorrect location for pickup and dropoff. these issues cost the company time that is unbillable and will affect future use of rentals from uhaul.

I was directed to leave truck there with 24 hour service and just follow the app. But there is no key drop at that location and no instructions about why or what to do. So I had to leave the truck and keep the keys and come back the next day. The personnel there said they don't do after hour drop offs. So your instructions are incorrect and misleading.

Horrible customer service. Didn't even have everything we reserved. Upon calling customer service the gal was extremely rude and even threatened us. The second gal we talked to was much more helpful but still never renting through this location ever again. They claim there are no after hours boxes in the area yet I know of 3 I have located since that day. Never again

I wish they would have checked the windshield wiper fluid and put some in so I Could clean the windshield also it was very difficult to see out the windshield because of some sort of film or haze that was on the inside of the windshield other than that The equipment was in good operation I just wish I didn't have to sit there in that cab and smell that marijuana Smell and deal with the haze on the windshield

My first time ever renting a uhaul and the employees at this location were very welcoming and made it truly hassle free. In and out in no time!! Great customer service and all done with smiles on their faces.

The 10' truck had roaches in it!! It was horrible. My aunt passed away and we got the uHaul to help family move her belongings. When I arrived and opened the back of the truck, we immediately saw 1/2 dozen cockroaches scurry on the inside walls! Entered to try and kill them by swatting with magazines and stepping those on ground. As we were doing this at minimum a dozen more roaches started scurrying around and as result, we were unable to use the truck! I had a drop off time of 9am this morning but, had to drop off after only a few hours. I told the assistant and he said no refund- nothing he can do about bugs in the truck. I said these ate not just bugs, they are roaches!! They can hop onto peoples shoes , clothes, etc… they are filthy horrible and disgusting. While he agreed with me, he still stated they would not compensate me for the wasted rental due to the roaches in UHaul's truck!!! UNBELIEVABLE. He would not even provide a discount. I followed thru with agreement and filled the tank based on the 50 mile R/t to my aunt's house. Bought roach spray and sprayed in back of the Uhaul truck as well, of which more roaches scattered out of crevasses in the top and sides of the inside of back of the truck. Uhaul charged me almost $200 and I didn't even get to use the truck to haul a single item due to roach infestation! I told the assistant manager that the truck needs to be fumigated â€" he AGREED!! I showed him the roaches we killed and he still said no discount or partial refund. Unreal as he said they clean the inside of trucks by blowing air in them to get dust/dirt â€" but, said we cannot control bugs. Uhaul has a responsibility to provide customers with roach free moving trucks- there is no argument Uhaul can justifiably state otherwise. I would like the corporate CEO to make this Uhaul location make right by me. I will pay the gas I'm not looking for a refund there but I do want a refund for a truck that I was unable to used due to roach infestation that is so wrong to be charged for something I couldn't even use not due to my negligence this is due to U-Haul's negligence. You may not know that the people you're renting your trucks out to have roaches. But if all you do is blow pressurized air into the back of a moving truck to get the dirt and dust out that does nothing with regard to roaches. Additionally there's like orange soda on the far back wall spilled clearly visible that was not cleaned it was dry and been on there for a while probably part of the reason there was roaches in the truck the trucks at the Federal Way U-Haul or not clean. And they don't care that's a problem I do want this fixed and I do want somebody from corporate to get back to me. Vanessa Sherrill

The location where my storage unit was located told me they were overbooked and had no units available. When I asked where I was supposed to store my stuff they literally shrugged their shoulders at me. I asked them to call and find me another storage facility and they refused to help. I even asked who I needed to call to get a storage unit and I was told I could find the number on my reservation. The people were absolutely no help and had a very poor attitude. They absolutely refused to help me in any way and simply said, " that's how it is when they over book us." This has been the absolute worst moving experience I've ever had. I will never use uhaul again and I have told all my friends and family about this experience.

We moved our stuff out of the unit on February 26, 2022, and the unit wasn't closed out like it was supposed to be. It only got closed out on March 10th after they called asking for payment. Also, when I reserved a smaller unit. I was told that we would get the money back for the bigger unit or it would transfer over to the new unit, but was told on March 10th that they don't pro-rate. Uhaul needs to have consistent policies from everyone.

The staff was great and the facility was well maintained. The surrounding area is the issue. There's been shootings nearby and break ins at the location. There are no flat carts due to theft. I could not get my Christmas tree out this year. (It's very large and heavy and needs a flat cart). I had 24 hour access but as the rates went up and crime went up, I moved to somewhere that I feel safe bringing my four year old daughter with me. I witnessed arguments on site with customers and was approached by some sketchy people. The murder in the complex next door was the final straw. Great facility but the location became dangerous.

My rating would've been a five (5) star rating, but due to unforeseen policy changes in operating hours I am forced to leave a two (2) star rating because of the inconvenience that it has caused me. What is the whole point of having a storage unit that you cannot access during business hours when you work those same business hours. It just doesn't make any sense. And then to be charged the full amount every month, also doesn't make any sense and is not fair to the customer. Very dissatisfied with the experience.

I have used this facility for years and have never had an issue. I have had a storage unit for the past 5 years that has changed in size more than 5 times and the switch over was seamless and smooth. I have also rented a truck/van from them about 10 times. Every vehicle and transaction was great! I recently closed my storage unit due to a move out of the area which resulted in an extra charge on my card due to an oversight. I called the location to report the issue and was credited within 2 hours including an email and phone call apology. I recommend this place for any and all storage and moving truck situations!

The management is terrible. The management on day shift is rude and unhelpful. I arrived and was told to remove the car from the carport was $75.00 dollars. I have never had to pay in other states. I then was asking for help to remove them myself, and a employee on night shift did not even tell me a chain was still on the vehicle, and was going to let me back up with it on. I asked him why he stated ( I forgot) (really!) I was then told the next day that it was only $35.00 dollars to remove the car. (WOW!) Then I moved out of storage on the proper date 11/22/21 and it was never done. I had to drive a hour to make sure as the management said. I was going to do it. After repeating phone calls to UHaul. The Enchanted Pkwy location in Federal Way was amazing. In the last few months I've had to rent a vehicle, a storage unit, and finally load a Ubox. They were so helpful and accommodating for each thing and nice too. Moving us stressful enough and being treated so well made it so much less.

South Lake Tahoe (Emerald Bay) general manager was rude and disrespectful. The assistant manager had no idea what he was doing, and refused to help out. Stated everyone was new. When arrived at Seattle, WA Federal Way location. The management stated it was $75 dollars to release my car from the auto transport. Next day it was $30. (WOW) I had no idea Uhaul treated their customers this way. So I guess next time will be Budget rentals and hopefully better treatment.

Employees need more training or support to provide efficient and effective customer service. They are courteous but incompetent and nearly every step of my experience was delayed and required me to return to the counter to get their mistakes fixed. Errors occurred with storage and moving truck that delayed my move in AND move out and I was never offered any apologies or concessions except for when calling the customer service number. Diana at customer service was very helpful and effective.

This STORAGE area Customer Bathroom broken entire time, the staff at this location was VERY mediocre except Daniel and Michael, a Boss. I was assigned #1986 which has an outside personal lock on it they couldn't have removed asap, the next best location was in #2051 even further away (I have Disabilities from Car accidents so walking too far is torture) but this unit was too small but by this time , this location was closed. The After hours Call center Rep couldn't Reserve a new bigger spot because the store was closed. (What????!!!**""). They never recommended reserving online, either. I found out the next day my own online reservation for a bigger unit wasn't avail in this location because someone else had reserved it for 2 weeks out and it's 1st come, 1st RESERVED. Now these issues had been going on for 3 days and I had to keep my 15' van overnight for 3 extra days to remove my belongings but was never able to fully do it (at this location) so I found another Storage unit (that wasn't a U-Haul) closer to our home. When I went in to turn in my access card and request my-UNUSED but out of the package- Padlock (at the Federal Way, WA store) because I didn't need it anymore, I was accused of not buying the padlock (I proved it was bought on the #1986 unit) but still couldn't return it as it had no packaging. Nor did these 2 guys even CARE that I was leaving for another company. Wait for it, there's more ....the rental of my 15' Van for local for 1 day around town was charged $167, not the advertised $29.95/ day. $40 was added each day that I couldn't offload my stuff from the Van. I also needed my SUV stored but it's a 4x4 and Customer service tried to rent me a tow dolly that would've damaged my 4x4. I'm not making this stuff up. I've had THE WORST EXPERIENCE AT THIS FEDERAL WAY, WA U-HAUL LOCATION. AVOID IT AT ALL COST!!!!

Door access card swipe machines don't work properly. Hot summer made them malfunction. Made night time access hard to get in. We had to pay for a second day truck rental, because it took hours to get in at night. Other than that, it was clean and well maintained.

I got stuck in construction traffic moving across the state so I showed up 13 minutes before closing. The first guy seemed helpful initially but completely apathetic that the movers I booked through Uhaul no-showed me. He gave me a unit that still had a lock on it, so not so helpful after all. I had to go back for a different unit but they had just closed so the guy tried to ignore me. I banged on the door till another guy showed up and found me another 5x10 unit. I was told I wasn't allowed to park my truck rental on site overnight while I figured out how to unload it without movers. …The locked storage unit was still in the system as available the next day so it will happen to the next customer…. I didn't get instructions on how to use the 2 entry keypads but staff seemed annoyed or condescending the next morning when my attempts failed and I asked for help. Turns out the access doors still weren't unlocked an hour and a half after business opened so it wasn't operator error. They only unlocked one set of doors at the unloading zone or the other doors were broken. 2 out of 5 people gave appropriate customer service and basic courtesy. Careless or incompetent staff made a hard move a whole lot harder.

I am very upset. I was under the impression that my move-out date was the end of the month just like when you rent other spaces. I expected that the fee I just paid in advance for the next month would be prorated back in a credit...so that I would only have paid for 3 days of the month. It's totally WRONG for Uhaul to keep more than $100 for days that are unused. When I tried to talk to the staff about it they said it's just Uhaul policy not to rebate pre-paid fees. I have been a loyal, never-late paying customer for more than 5 years. To be treated unfairly at the end is horrible customer relations.

Security issue: Middle age female on side walk outside the main doors to storage, walked in through the open main entrance doors when others came and went. She was nervously looking around, so I continued to watch her from outside our rental truck. She lifted up one torche' lamp and started to walk away with it. She saw me watching and motioned, "oh, is this yours?". She put it down, came outside and said, "oh, I thought these were free." If I hadn't been standing outside watching her, lamps would have been stolen. I did report it to the office.
