We are helping our daughter move and came in on a Sunday morning, it was very crowded so the associates were all quite busy. I noticed that no matter how busy they were, they were giving the customers all the time and help they needed. Not trying to hurry anyone along. The young man who assisted us was Aaron and he was awesome! Helpful, patient, professional and great sense of humor. We had reserved the truck online so didn't need to spend a lot of time there before we were on our way. When we returned the truck the following day, it was also quite busy with people picking up and dropping off vehicles. The young man who assisted us was Maurice and he was also just wonderful. Super nice and professional even though he was obviously very busy. We didn't have to go inside at all, he logged all the mileage info and gave us our final cost. He did not hurry us and made sure to ask if there was anything else he could do even though he was very much in demand. This is our second time renting moving equipment from this location and we will definitely be returning.Virginia T.

Moving the pickup location from kent wa to belfair wa is unacceptable. I know this happened on another reservation but you can look it up in my previous reservations that is tied to my phone number. It would be nice to have been able to talk to someone that actually works at u-haul and not just someone at a marketing company when I had an issue with my reservation. I was charged a mileage rate, pre paid for everything. Didn't go the full amount on mileage. I was supposed to be charged .99 per mile. When I tuned in the van I had 14 more miles left. They told me that in order to get that money back I would have to pay a higher rate for the vehicle I rented. I was not informed that this was the case. This should have been made clear. Granted it is 14 dollars plus tax. I thought renting uhaul vehicles when I have large items to haul was a good option. I am now rethinking this. Poor communication and really aggressive people when you check in your vehicle.Angela S.

The first truck had no fuel and the second truck had just enough fuel to drive to the gas station across the street. The truck was also missing the drivers side windshield wiper so I'm happy it didn't rain today. The people I worked with to pick up and drop off my truck were friendly and professional - and I really appreciate that. The problem I had was the late notification that out-of-hours pickup and dropoff weren't an option. I made my reservation for 8 AM to 8 PM on Sunday, knowing I could pick up and drop off the truck/van after hours using the App. This all seemed quite clear based on my reservation process. At 7:15 PM the night before my reservation, I got a voicemail that said I had to pick up my truck at 9 AM because no after-hours pickup or drop-off were being allowed at this time. The app should be clear about that. It was frustrating to have to change my plans the evening before my reservation. That said, the people that helped me on-site were great.Lowell T.

I reserved with card. The truck was not clean, the driver door was difficult to shut fully because of damage. The hood was unlatched and there is a leak in the tire that decreased the gas Mileage. The staff was using broken and partially nonfunctional equipment to check me in. My reserved dolly was not available. Finally the after hours key Slot was glued shut and a sign saying no longer excepting after hour drop offs and I specifically asked staff when I checked out the truck where the key slot was for drop off. Now I have to have a friend drop off the key tomorrow when the store opens.Robert T.

The Staff that work for Uhaul are incredibly helpful and kind. I had to call customer service due to a technical error and even the 1800 customer service was a human being and she was very helpful. However, I experienced a frustrating situation, that I think was frustrating for both me and U-Haul staff. I called Friday 4/15 to schedule for delivery of my UBox 1 week out, Friday 4/22 because you cannot do this online. Then on Wed 4/20 I called Customer Service. Confirmed my address and delivery. She confirmed everything was good and I would hear from dispatch on Thursday. On Thursday 4/21 dispatch called and said they would not deliver to my home. 1 - Why is there not something in the system to trigger this notification when I initially call? 2 - How did it make it to the day before it was noticed they would not deliver? 3 - Advertisement says delivered anywhere... this box came from Denver to Washington, why would it not make it to my home?? This became frustrating for me because I had scheduled multiple furniture and appliance deliveries on Friday with my Ubox and could not confirm when I'd be able to pick it up. This made it difficult for U-Haul staff to plan their day as well. I am fortunate to have a truck, but I cannot imagine if I didn't have a truck to suddenly pick up up a trailer with no notice how I would have figured this out. If you're going to require folks call to schedule Ubox delivery, there should be a better system for delivery locations on both sides of the call. All of your staff handled this well (except maybe dispatch)Nicole M.

Dissatisfied upon arrival I had to to go back and forth 3 times to get assistance Was told to go to Spot G was given keys to the wrong truck I also had to check out the truck my self the attendant forgot to put a utility dolly in truck No assistance in finding the truck. Mileage questionable Especially since I was given a different truck that was not prepared inside of of truck floor wet I know I drove from federal way to Puyallup which is 18 miles each way but was charged for 60 miles round trip I should have taken pic of odometer myself. The person in charge was real specific about me not returning equipment until next morning even though my rental agreement specified It must be returned before 11pm. When I pointed that out to him he said it would be best if I held it until morning due to concerns over theftâ€¦.? I was guaranteed that there would be no additional charges, and low and behold I was billed for extra $20+. The location where my storage unit was located told me they were overbooked and had no units available. When I asked where I was supposed to store my stuff they literally shrugged their shoulders at me. I asked them to call and find me another storage facility and they refused to help. I even asked who I needed to call to get a storage unit and I was told I could find the number on my reservation. The people were absolutely no help and had a very poor attitude. They absolutely refused to help me in any way and simply said, " that's how it is when they over book us." This has been the absolute worst moving experience I've ever had. We moved our stuff out of the unit on February 26, 2022, and the unit wasn't closed out like it was supposed to be. It only got closed out on March 10th after they called asking for payment. Also, when I reserved a smaller unit. I was told that we would get the money back for the bigger unit or it would transfer over to the new unit, but was told on March 10th that they don't pro-rate. The staff was great and the facility was well maintained. The surrounding area is the issue. There's been shootings nearby and break ins at the location. There are no flat carts due to theft. I could not get my Christmas tree out this year. (It's very large and heavy and needs a flat cart). I had 24 hour access but as the rates went up and crime went up, I moved to somewhere that I feel safe bringing my four year old daughter with me. I witnessed arguments on site with customers and was approached by some sketchy people. The murder in the complex next door was the final straw. My rating would've been a five (5) star rating, but due to unforeseen policy changes in operating hours I am forced to leave a two (2) star rating because of the inconvenience that it has caused me. What is the whole point of having a storage unit that you cannot access during business hours when you work those same business hours. It just doesn't make any sense. I have used this facility for years and have never had an issue. I have had a storage unit for the past 5 years that has changed in size more than 5 times and the switch over was seamless and smooth. I have also rented a truck/van from them about 10 times. Every vehicle and transaction was great! I recently closed my storage unit due to a move out of the area which resulted in an extra charge on my card due to an oversight. I called the location to report the issue and was credited within 2 hours including an email and phone call apology. The management is terrible. The management on day shift is rude and unhelpful. I arrived and was told to remove the car from the carport was $75.00 dollars. I have never had to pay in other states. I then was asking for help to remove them myself, and a employee on night shift did not even tell me a chain was still on the vehicle, and was going to let me back up with it on. I asked him why he stated ( I forgot) (really!) I was then told the next day that it was only $35.00 dollars to remove the car. (WOW!) Then I moved out of storage on the proper date 11/22/21 and it was never done. I had to drive a hour to make sure as the management said. I was going to do it. After repeating phone calls to UHaul. This place is a rip off, and thrives. Improper behavior and terrible management that I have ever encountered. I should get a refund. South Lake Tahoe (Emerald Bay) general manager was rude and disrespectful. The assistant manager had no idea what he was doing, and refused to help out. Stated everyone was new. When arrived at Seattle, WA Federal Way location. The management stated it was $75 dollars to release my car from the auto transport. Next day it was $30. This STORAGE area Customer Bathroom broken entire time, the staff at this location was VERY mediocre except Daniel and Michael, a Boss. I was assigned #1986 which has an outside personal lock on it they couldn't have removed asap, the next best location was in #2051 even further away (I have Disabilities from Car accidents so walking too far is torture) but this unit was too small but by this time , this location was closed. The After hours Call center Rep couldn't Reserve a new bigger spot because the store was closed. (What????!!!**""). They never recommended reserving online, either. I found out the next day my own online reservation for a bigger unit wasn't avail in this location because someone else had reserved it for 2 weeks out and it's 1st come, 1st RESERVED. Now these issues had been going on for 3 days and I had to keep my 15' van overnight for 3 extra days to remove my belongings but was never able to fully do it (at this location) so I found another Storage unit (that wasn't a U-Haul) closer to our home. When I went in to turn in my access card and request my-UNUSED but out of the package- Padlock (at the Federal Way, WA store) because I didn't need it anymore, I was accused of not buying the padlock (I proved it was bought on the #1986 unit) but still couldn't return it as it had no packaging. Nor did these 2 guys even CARE that I was leaving for another company. Wait for it, there's more ....the rental of my 15' Van for local for 1 day around town was charged $167, not the advertised $29.95/ day. $40 was added each day that I couldn't offload my stuff from the Van. I also needed my SUV stored but it's a 4x4 and Customer service tried to rent me a tow dolly that would've damaged my 4x4. I'm not making this stuff up. I've had THE WORST EXPERIENCE AT THIS FEDERAL WAY, WA U-HAUL LOCATION. AVOID IT AT ALL COST!!!!Mary J. | Overall Experience

I got stuck in construction traffic moving across the state so I showed up 13 minutes before closing. The first guy seemed helpful initially but completely apathetic that the movers I booked through Uhaul no-showed me. He gave me a unit that still had a lock on it, so not so helpful after all. I had to go back for a different unit but they had just closed so the guy tried to ignore me. I banged on the door till another guy showed up and found me another 5x10 unit. I was told I wasn't allowed to park my truck rental on site overnight while I figured out how to unload it without movers. …The locked storage unit was still in the system as available the next day so it will happen to the next customer…. I didn't get instructions on how to use the 2 entry keypads but staff seemed annoyed or condescending the next morning when my attempts failed and I asked for help. Turns out the access doors still weren't unlocked an hour and a half after business opened so it wasn't operator error. They only unlocked one set of doors at the unloading zone or the other doors were broken. 2 out of 5 people gave appropriate customer service and basic courtesy. I am very upset. I was under the impression that my move-out date was the end of the month just like when you rent other spaces. I expected that the fee I just paid in advance for the next month would be prorated back in a credit...so that I would only have paid for 3 days of the month. It's totally WRONG for Uhaul to keep more than $100 for days that are unused. When I tried to talk to the staff about it they said it's just Uhaul policy not to rebate pre-paid fees. Security issue: Middle age female on side walk outside the main doors to storage, walked in through the open main entrance doors when others came and went. She was nervously looking around, so I continued to watch her from outside our rental truck. She lifted up one torche' lamp and started to walk away with it. She saw me watching and motioned, "oh, is this yours?". She put it down, came outside and said, "oh, I thought these were free." The storage unit i was assigned was in the very back of the building and a huge walk from the offload. I am disabled and before I even opened the locker, I went back into the store part, explained my situation and asked for.something close to the door. He gave me two smaller units that he said were close, but they were just as far. Half way down and then all the way over to the end of the building. Also I tried opening my locker and the alarm went off every time so I couldn't open it. I had no way to physically get my stuff in there. I Loved my overall experience with Uhal-storage, the only problem that I had is the lien fee which is put on your account and can't be reversed. Because the large storage is not covered under the move-in-special, I had to get two small units so I could use the move-in special. this means when my hours where cut I did not have to come up with one fee of $108. but two. I know that everyone as well as business are suffering during this time, but you asked so I thought I would share, and if you would like to bless me with a refund of the $216. I will receive it (smile). Again I love your hours of entry they are perfect and the cleanliness of your storages are amazing. Thank you and I would use your services again but my prayers are that I never have to experience homelessness ever again in life.... maybe the experience will be just to store a overflow of items.. My concern is pest invasion. My belongings were stored for three years and didn't have carpet beetles when first stored. Upon removing my belongings, carpet beetles were discovered in the unit. Also, there was some kind of construction that caused dirt (soil) to fall into the unit, which had to be cleaned off of some belongings. We emptied the unit the day before the next payment was due and asked the staff what we needed to do to check out. They claimed all we needed to do was leave the door open on the empty unit and our contract would be cancelled. We have not received multiple notices of past due amounts and threats to lien the unit, which is empty for failure to pay. Initially renting the unit took longer than it should have. I spent more than a half hour, when I was the only person there. I had no issues while my stuff was in storage. When I removed all of my items, I was moved out without my knowledge when I still had 10 days left of my paid rental. It is a little nice that I didn't have to return to move out, but I was not notified about it. So I still returned and was confused when my card didn't work. I got this move out survey about my "recent patronage" but no email, text, or voicemail about having been moved out. I was told they called, but I've never had a business not leave a voicemail when the phone isn't answered. The survey email didn't say it was about moving out, so I didn't know until I clicked the link for the survey. If I had wanted to use the last 10 days of my storage, that right was taken away from me without my consent, and it's unacceptable.Katie k. | Overall Experience
