I was busy completing the self check out and an associate came by to check on me. He told me right off the bat that I was all set. Before I left I asked him how did he know that I was all set since I didn't give my name or any other identifying information. He double checked and realized that I wasn't finished with the process. He did complete the rest of the process for me and then told me I was all set once again.Laura E.

I felt sorry for the guy. It was so busy and he was the only one there. I waited 45 minutes to pick up my truck. The truck we were given had a problem with the drivers side mirror. It would not stay out. Going down the road it would close in next to the truck.PATRICIA B.

I will not us u-haul ever again because of the way I was treated for dropping it off early and not getting a refund for un used days. I only needed it for 2 days not 5 days. I was not even told that this was a flat rate. I have used u-haul in the past and received credit for un used days.TRACY B.

Ensure your stock of rental equipment is accurate. Online, I was able to rent an in-town trailer from the Antioch location but when I arrived no such trailer was available. I then had to pay twice as much to rent a 1-way trailer from the Lake in the Hills location in order to return it to Antioch as that was the location nearest my house and location that saved me the most time.DAVID P.

My account went delinquent over 2 years ago and I had to forfeit the unit which was unfortunate but oh well. They told me it was going to auction February of 2020 And that it was too late to pay it off.. Then 6 months later they get ahold of me telling me that I had another 6 months of rent plus delinquent fees racked up and that the unit was not sold. I told them I wasn't gonna pay over a $1000 to just send it to auction. Here we are August of 2021 they just told me they sold it for a $140 that I have to pay the difference between that and $2800. They lied to get my bill up so they could rake me over the coals when I was clearly not in a good financial situation.Keith S. | Overall Experience

I was ready to give this facility better ratings but when I needed to access my locker I found it was locked, with a tag claiming I had not paid my monthly fee. However, I was able to provide the payment receipts to show I was in good standing once the store opened and should not have been locked out. Unfortunately this situation came as I was trying to move my son to his new residence in preparation for college, and we were delayed several hours in loading our U-Haul rental and getting on the road.Fjay B. | Overall Experience
Advanced Notification should have been made if the reserved unit (10x10, split level thats temperature controlled) was not available. That was what I had reserved. Instead I have 2x 5x10 units that are not temperature controlled and only upstairs upstairs. I went in to get an additional lock and waited for over 20 minutes and didn't see anyone inside or someway to ring for help. Another associate should have been there vs having one person on duty on a Saturday morning which is probably a very busy day for this location. I left and came back like 30 minutes later. Service was redeemed with the second / final guy who finally helped me with the missing lock and then with the truck return.Amy E. | First Impressions

My original reservation was in Lake Villa. The truck I was supposed to get was not returned on time so they move the reservation to Antioch. The truck provided to me in Antioch only had 1/4 tank of gas and I already lost an hour. I had no idea the gas mileage on the truck and couldn't risk running out so I filled up the tank with the cost of $72. As it turns out I returned it with 3/4 of a tank. There would be no way for me to be able to return with 1/4 tank. I would like a credit for the extra gas left in the truck.AUDRA M.
Online 24/7 rental service was a failure for me. Luckily the GM of the rental location was able to finish what the remote service center did not, after he opened the facility. I'd be more than happy to discuss my remote rental experience with someone. I gave a good review only because the focus of the questions do not actually speak to the elements of my service, and I did not want to unfairly rate the great work done by staff at the phyisical rental location. If I could rate the 24/7 rental service by itself, it would be 1 star.JOHN S.

Trailer was dirty when i picked it up. Nobody bothered to sweep it out. I returned the equipment about 30 mins prior to my 24 hour rental period. My daughter drove from uhaul company home so I could send some emails. I have emails sent at 3:50 and they coded my return after 4pm so they could charge an extra day. DO NOT TRUST THESE CHEATING BASTARDSâ€¦. This is the second time UHAUL has done thisâ€¦.MICHAEL D.

After waiting inside the Antioch il. Location for about 15 minutes without an employee in sight I went outside and asked a maintenance man if he could find some help for me. I did my reservation online so I was just wanting to pay and pick up truck. After the representative took me to the truck he noticed the tank was almost beneath a 8th of a tank. He told me they are supposed to have at least a quarter tank and he would issue me a credit as long as I replaced the gas I used which I did. When I returned the truck a different representative said to just leave the keys in it and they would email me my receipt. When I opened my email I saw that I was charged 158.00 for a 19.95 rental that I used for 5 hours and drove 28 miles. With the insurance a purchased the bill should have been around 60.00! Apparently they charged me for 70 miles(the odometer was reset when I left parking lot and returned with 28 miles) then charged me a gas penalty as well as 38.00 for gas and nowhere was the credit I was given on the bill. I then waited on the phone for an hour and a half to try and clear things up were I was told they saw the mistakes but were not in the position to refund and that a manager would call me to solve the problem. Instead the following day I received and email with no apology or explanation, refunding me 40 dollars?? I responded to the email and as I type it has been 6 hours with no response. I have been overcharged for the rental and when I arrived at my scheduled time for the rental there was no one available for almost an hour to process my reservation. The truck had no radio or air conditioning on a really hot day. After waiting for an extremely long time no discount was even offered for the rude behavior when this very young teenager/man showed up. I had to call and complain for someone from Uhaul to reach someone to service me and 5 other customers.LILLIAN C.

I pulled up to their drop off spot where the sign said to wait and someone would come out to assist, I waiting for 15-20 minutes and no one showed up. Dropped off the trailer and had to spend a fair amount of time trying to complete the online drop off info. I had a similar experience the last time I dropped off a trailer at this location. I have used u-haul in the past it's always been great this truck rental wasn't so good there was dirt in the back of the truck. The truck also drove so rough and bouncy I called the support line I got transferred and hung up on after 40 minutes I'm old. Also at the end while checking myself in 3 times I tried to check in the truck and it went down every time I had to find an employee which took 15 minutes to find.David K.

The roof is leaking throughout the building and was above out unit the entire time. We complained multiple times and had to have them shopvac the top of our unit at least 10 times well we were there.
