Bruce K.The employee initially said she was not doing walk-ins, so I had to go to my car and reserve a trailer from my phone. When she checked the trailer lights before I left, she said everything was good and I left. Later that evening when I was on the road, I found out that the trailer's tail lights didn't work, but the brake, turn, and hazards did. The next morning, I seen that a wire was broke on the trailer's hitch.
Willis S.The female employee that took the reservation was great, the guy that was there the morning of the reservation was grumpy. He trucks mecanical issues included the key and gear shift, the windshield did not work when this happened and it was raining. The drop off location was great !

I booked the pick up location over two months prior and yet the day before was told by the traffic dept that I would need to travel 30 miles out of my way to pick up the auto transport. This happened on two one-way reservations. The Carson city location had more than six transports on-hand that could have been transferred to Reno easily enough to not inconvenience me as the customer.

Josue U.No problem with the location, but after reserving SIX months ago a car hauler to pick up in Reno, at the last minute I was told I had to go to Carson City (30 miles away) to get it. Which made me late getting home in time to drop it off before the Sacramento location closed at 5pm (a Sunday). So I dropped it down to Lodi and they're charging me $43 for taking it to a different location! U Haul is the absolute worst!

Brian H.First, I was told Gardnerville had no 15' trucks available and I would have to pick up 25 miles away in Carson City. I guess that's ok, just an extra half hour there and half hour back. Then, I was told in my text message to call the day before to confirm. So, at 6:50 pm Friday night, I called. A man answered ( whom I found out when returning truck that this man was the man who cleans the trucks when returning). I asked him if we could pick up the truck before 9:00 am Saturday. He said “no, we don't open until 9:00amâ€. Then about 7:30pm Friday, another person called from Gardnerville, and said he could change our time to 7:15 am Saturday For the 15' truck. I said ok, but the man said they don't open until 9 am. Saturday morning I received a call at 7:59am saying I had a 15' truck I was supposed to pick up at 7:15 and if I still wanted it. I said “YES†I will be there at 8:20am. They said Okay, we will hold it. I Arrived at 8:20 am Saturday and had to wait about 30 minutes while they said their computer was down and they were helping the person in front of us. When they finally helped us at 9:00, they stated that our 15' truck was no longer available ( they gave it to the guy in front of me)! I said that someone JUST called and asked if I still wanted it and everyone looked down and nobody admitted to calling me! I have the time stamp on my phone and showed them the call! They didn't care! So they said all they had is a 10' with NO RAMP! Which I could have picked up in Gardnerville and saved an hour drive to and from Carson City. I'm 59 years old and now my back is killing me from no ramp!! Upon returning, we returned the truck at 6:55pm (they close at 7:00pm) there was nobody in the office. So the guy cleaning the Truck that came in before me said “you have to wait a few more minutes “. Wait for who or what, don't know, he didn't say!! So I'm wait about ten more minutes, now it's after 7:00pm. The cleaning guy came up and checked us in PLUS an EXTRA $20 for after 7:00 pm check in! I was here before 7:00pm (you can check the video camera in the office, I was there at 6:55pm!) So, NO I did not like the service at all. However, it was a nice store, very clean and we saw all the products for sale ( since we were waiting over half an hour with only one person before us and two people helping them)! Usually I am an easy person to get along with, but not this time. Sorry!

Charles L.The only suggestions I would make are that they are so busy cleaning the returns, they make customers in the facility waut for service. I had to go out and ask for service. Upon return, the rep didn't explain that the $96 he said I was being charged was not "in addition" to what was charged on my credit card the day before. I panicked thinking it was for the 2 extra miles.
Tawnie B.It was a great facility and the customer service was great the first time but after two round trip Uhaul rentals, I was told I would get two months free (one for each rental) and I didn't. When I called. I was flatly told "no". This was especially disheartening after a huge mixup at the Bakersfield Uhaul that left us with no blankets or packaging supplies after I had ordered them ahead of time. Due to time constraints and having to move without, so much of my furniture got damaged and we had to make two- two day trips. The promise of free rent for two months was some sort of positive and then it was rejected so quickly and coldly.

michael Z.The trailers should have stands attached and be able to be locked so when I need to disconnect the trailer I can easily do so and lock it so it's not stolen. When canceling my reservation I was called and had told the lady remaking the reservation I wanted to drop the trailer out of state, she proceeded to book in town and told me I could change it when I got to the store. At the store they told me they had no one way trailers and I had to bring the trailer back if I wanted it. They also did not update my number of days so initially overcharging me then updating once I returned the trailer.

Ernie M.I returned the car trailer 2 days early. The person checking me in started nitpicking things. He found a rubber part that was torn where the trailer chains are hooked up to my vehicle. I did not hook up the trailer, U-haul in poway did. Then the person asked me if I had been in an accident or hit something. Obviously I did not as I was towing a classic car and done 2 days early. Only when I told the gentleman that I had purchased the damage waiver/coverage for $30.00, did he stop coming up with garbage to try and charge me. I plan to file a chargeback with visa for this crap.

Steven S.DO NOT RENT OUT TRUCKS THAT HAVE AN APB OUT FOR BEING SOLEN!! It's your vehicle so your systems should know if the vehicle has an APB!!! We were traumatized by a law enforcement encounter that included guns drawn and handcuffs in addition to the stress of moving!!!

When I got to the facility I was told that just because the system let me make a reservation did not mean they had one available. I was actually 5th in line for a unit that size. This left me scrambling to find a suitably sized storage unit on the day of the move. Make sure you go to the facility and see if they actually have what you reserved.
GARY DOUGLAS P. | First ImpressionsWhen we first rented our storage unit we put the wrong lock on it. They put their own lock on it and locked us out of our unit. Also when we went into our unit I had 17 containers that were plastic and labeled someone went through all of my containers they pushed our refrigerator to the side which was brand new and the scratch was put on the side of the refrigerator. Because we purchased a new condo after selling our home and had to sell our remainder appliances. When we ended up selling our items out of our unit there was extreme amount of mouse droppings in our unit. And also when we rented the unit it was not cleaned out. During the process our unit went up in cost due to maintenance seeing and also extermination. Which when we were at the unit up and down the aisle there was a bunch of screws nails and bolts that we literally had to pick up and push aside so we wouldn't get one in our tire of our vehicle. The gates are left open on the far side when some construction work was going on which was totally inappropriate because we felt like our unit wasn't safe. What is the purpose of having a key card to get in when anyone can get it. I would not suggest this Uhaul as customer service there was advised of the situation with our unit and we were disregarded not only by the employees but also by management

The map and paperwork stated the site was accessible from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, which was not true and was incorrect! I consequently made a wasted, 80-mile round trip to the storage unit...wasting 3 hours of my valuable time, to load a trailer (a UHaul trailer no less), drive there, and not get access. To make matters worse, the signage at the property had the phone number listed of a previous manager (who was quite polite!), and she gave me the number to the new General Manager, who was not happy to be getting a call after hours. Seemed dismissive of my frustrations. This was a verbal communication blunder upon getting the unit, and a printed error problem on both the maps, and the signage at the electronic gate (on the fence). The only good result of this, was that the assistant manager was able to provide a remedy to my displeasure.
