It would ask for my location then just say “park it†and “a representative will contact you†I had to log into the web version of the app and then it somehow gave me the return workflow where I had to take pictures and pick payment option etc. Was kind of confusing. I was worried I did something wrong and would get charged for an extra day or something because it glitched out.
Steven C.The sign is a bit misleading when you drop off equipment. I was under the impression you needed to wait by the equipment but you can just drop off your contract and keys without issue. This confused me a bit but was ultimately negligible and we were all set very quickly.

Our rental agreement needed to be updated and after multiple emails and a phone call talking to the manager, I never was informed if it was properly cha get. My understanding is that it was not. We do not plan to use this in the future as it cause unnecessary liability for us.

Bob P.The picking up pf the equipment was uneventful. The mileage was wrong but easily addressed so no harm done. The truck seemed under powered for the amount of weight it was designed to move. I understand it can't be a diesel with air brakes but a V10 should have a little more grunt. The major problem was returning the equipment. The associate that was there seemed annoyed that I was there. It was a very cold interaction. I returned the truck a day early but was never questioned much less asked how things went. Unfortunately a poor experience.

Experienced excellent customer service inside, but the process took much longer than I planned on. Returned the truck with more gas that I left with, but was charged for 2 gallons none the less. If I ever rent from UHaul again, I'll make sure to take a picture of the gas gage.
Mark H.Although the daily rate for trucks is for 24 hours, there is a high risk of additional fees being charged if the initial length of time is less than 24-hours and the renting party would like to adjust the return time. For as much information that is clearly visible about scheduling for less than 24 hours, there should be corresponding visible information indicating there are fees for changing the return time. There are two inputs for a rental....start time and length of time. If the rental time is started late, there is a risk that the original return time may override the length of time requested...which could offend and bother people if they are unaware of this priority.
Gwen B.Reduce the wait times. Train all your employees to at least greet a customer and let them know someone else will help them. Standing by the counter while a guy sits there on the computer and never even looking up to acknowledge you is poor business. There is a young woman there who is really a great employee. She was working on everything and as soon as she could she came over to help. Meanwhile, other employees were filtering in and out never saying hello and hating their lives. But it must be a company thing cause every UHaul place seems to specialize in understaffing their locations and hiring less than friendly people.
Terry B.We always use this location to rent trucks from. Sonya is amazing and while she has limited staff, she still manages to get everyone the same level of service and doesn't leave people guessing or without a product.

Rented a truck and then they couldn't find the truck and switched me out for a van. Overall a disappointing experience. Uhaul seems to be going downhill.

The fact that their Internet was down only made things slower and more frustrating for her. My main issue is that they broke the exhaust hanger on my vehicle while installing a hitch and we're just like, “oops -we rigged it up but you'll probably have to take it to a shop to get that fixed.†Not acceptable in any industry.

Add more staff to help lines. Waiting 30 mins is too long. Dont ask renters to approve tiny pics to verify damage! Very shady!

Jessie B.Before asking, while I was at the counter, they sent me a text message to upload my driver's license, instead of just taking my license and scanning it themselves. My phone does not have internet or a camera. When I said this, the employee seemed very inconvenienced having to scan my license herself. I rejected the insurance multiple times. However, it seemed the credit card kiosk where I was rejecting it (in addition to rejecting it online when I made the reservation) was glitching during the time. Not sure what happened, but I ultimately found out I was charged $60 for trailer insurance I absolutely did not want and absolutely rejected multiple times, and do not recall signing for.

debbie V.Pick up location was switched from walker michigan to Byron center Michigan 45 minutes after pickup time. I had to drive 30 minutes in the opposite direction of my storage unit to get the truck, then back to my storage unit I'm walker. The miliage was comped, but I had to pay for gas!
Nicolas T.The gas gauges in the vehicles are not properly represented by your graphics. It's hard to see how much you really need to replenish. Staff was efficient but brusque. Also, I was contacted as to why I had not picked up the truck. I got the key around 9:30 and told the manager I would be back later with my crew. I don't know why they felt they had to call me. I paid for the truck, why did it matter if I used it at all?

Brad V.The manager is rude, unprofessional, and not knowledgeable when it comes to uhual policy. I've rented from several locations and countless times. I've never experienced this behavior anywhere else. To be clear, the gentleman that initially helped was professional and courteous and explained in detail. I was then overcharged twice when calling to extend the rental over the phone. The employee that answered tried to help but did not bother to inform her manager of the over charge and how she changed the due back time. Which led to another rental day. I have yet to be reimbursed for this charge.

I was extremely impressed with the customer service I received from her. Thank you . she had no staff and had 6 customers in there to handle by herself at that time.. when I came back in 2 hours later , Rick was also very helpful and made sure all was as it should be before I left .

Unfortunately, U-Haul has the worst software and computer system I have seen for modern Company that ha been a business as long as you have. Every time I've been in there the computers crash, and it's difficult for the employees to navigate you're stupid software. Does clicking on things more often make it a better system? Not very user-friendly, or customer friendly. I hope you didn't actually pay somebody to create this software. Employees were awesome though!

Larry P. | Online Move InTo begin we were guaranteed a 20ft truck (the only size that would work for moving to a new state) at a specific location nearby. The day before pick-up we were contacted and told that truck size doesn't exist at the guaranteed location and we could drive to a further location for a 15 ft truck (way too small!) They should've delivered the truck to our location instead of making us drive 3 hours round trip, taking 3 hours out of a workday and losing us that part of a days paycheck and wasting our time and stress. Once we got the truck unloaded and headed to the storage unit we'd pre-registered and that was included free with our one way truck rental, the trouble and headaches kept coming. We were originally given a 10x5 at another facility, but when we got to the unit, it's actual measurements were 5x5, even the worker said that happens, that U-Haul's dimension of storage spaces don't always match the dimensions they advertise them as, he measured it for us for confirmation. We had to call customer service (plus 15 minutes of in hold time) to locate another facility with the size we needed because the store was unable to look it up or call them. We had no way of double-checking with the new facility whether they actually had the unit available in that size, and the worker at the one we were at wasn't able to for us (ridiculous they can't call another store locally to check!). We had to blindly drive to the new facility. Upon arrival, check-in was smoothish. The young man wasn't thorough and missed some things we had to correct for him. Then he sent us to our unit and forgot to come unlock our unit for us so we had to go remind them we were there 30 minutes later to which the guy said he'd forgotten we were there. He didn't warn us of the sticky trap on the floor of the unit or point it out at all so I accidentally stepped on it moving something into the unit and ruined the bottoms of good running shoes. All of this made us late for our rented truck drop off time, and lower on fuel for drop off than we were supposed to be, we wouldn't have been if this hadn't all been wrong. Not only was this a drain on finite fossil fuel resources, it was a waste if our time, adding an additional hour of driving around for U-Haul's mistake. This all also made us so late that we missed a ticketed event and were unable to get a refund. Very dissatisfied with the company and the customer service as a whole for wasting at least 5 hours of our time, energy, and emotions.

Even though on-line confirmed my storage unit, when I showed up there was no unit available to rent. I tried calling another store but must have been directed to your main call center. The person who helped me reserve over the phone got me the correct size confirmed available but when I showed up to the store I was informed the only two units were on the second and fourth floor and there is no elevator. I finally went to a third location before I was able to get the unit.

Nothing was really explained how anything worked there and had to make several return trips to the front desk (and wait several minutes because of the line) to just ask "How do I even get in to the bay?" or "What truck should I take?" I know part of this was because the system was down and everything was crazy, but it was a huge time waster. A simple video on the app would have worked way better.

The only issue was one of the bay doors was broke so if someone in a regular vehicle had to wait to get a uhaul tuck in the bay and the number of carts availability. One guy had two carts which was all the carts on that end.

I would NEVER in a million years ever use this facility again or recommend it to anyone. It may be a better place if they got rid of the management team and start with a fresh staff.
