We opted to use the online check in option thinking it would save us time but we still had to go inside and stand in line to get the keys. Nothing about this process was clear. It took us almost 30 minutes to get the keys. The truck was dirty and smelled awful. We thought the return would be simpler. Again we did this online using the link provided. We walked around in the same parking lot of this location trying to figure out where the drop box was. There was no sign anywhere so we again went inside thinking it might be there. We didn't see a drop box so instead of standing in line we asked the man at the register if there was a drop box. He completely ignored us. We asked again and he still ignored us. So we just left the keys on the counter by him. We will never return to this location.David S.

We waited for a long time (per the sign outside which said to wait for service) before finally going in to see what was going on. The gentleman had no idea we were waiting regardless of the many cameras At his disposal. We were greeted and told he had all information to check us in and I'd get a receipt soon. By late afternoon there was still no receipt so I called. No answer locally so I was redirected to an operator who said he'd emaIl the location. A receipt came a day later with an ADDITIONAL charge for a day!! Ridiculous. Buyer (renter) beware. Stay for the receipt in person. Next time we will use Penske!Amy F.

I will give a glowing recommendation to an extent to this location specifically. The general manager attempted to fix a really bad situation. However, I made my 15 foot reservation a week before I needed it and when I showed up at eight in the morning there was no truck for me. I was told I would be called back within four hours with an update but I got a text message saying I had a new reservation I continued packing and getting things done that needed to go on the truck that I still didn't have when at 5:30 PM I was given another reservation. This time at a different U-Haul. I had already reserved a storage unit at this location so having a truck to pick up and drop off at another location would cost me a lot of money. I was treated terribly and then the general manager did his best to get me a truck by Sunday but I could only get a 10 foot truck which meant I would have to make many more trips with limited help and NO RAMP!!! The truck I reserved had a ramp. For a small female moving mostly alone this was a pivotal issue. All of these things added a lot of time when I was already behind the ball because of not having a truck 24 hours before. I pick my truck up and it went great but when I went back the general manager was no longer there just an employee and at that point I was told that my reservation for my storage unit also had to change because they could not provide what I had originally picked. I would've expected for Roy or his employee to promptly reach out to me to let me know but instead I was told at the moment. I was blindsided yet again with another failing from U-Haul at the moment where I could not choose another company it was too late all of my things had to go somewhere. And they did. I ended up with a plywood box complete with a mouse trap and gaping clearance at the top of each storage unit. They are ill shaped and I was not prepared for how run down the whole situation was. I regret trusting U-Haul with my belongings and my life because they completely ruined any chance I had of making this a pleasant experience. The female employee took over an hour just getting me set up with my new storage unit that I had to pick under duress and then waited for us to move stuff up to my storage unit with a lock on it already. I come back down to find her outside for her to say "yeah there is a lock on there I need to get that for you" this whole time she is quite possibly the slowest human I have ever met in my life. There is not an ounce of urgency in this person whatsoever and let me tell you when I have been cost as much time as I have been every step she messed up cost me at least 20 minutes and up to an hour. I was supposed to be loading my stuff into that storage unit at 9 AM Sunday. I did not finish until almost 7 PM Sunday. I hate everything about uhaul I hate everything about the employees who have made my life unbearably hard when I'm already going through it with this move. I hate that the general manager tries so hard and he has a website that sells him and employees that fail him. Roy is a good human. I do truly mean that. But to not leave an honest review of the nightmare that I just went through would be a huge disservice to everyone else. I fear retaliation for this review because my whole life is in that building but I know for a fact as soon as I can afford to I will have a moving company move my stuff elsewhere. I will pay more to get out before my stuff is ruined and I have to give you all anymore of my money. If you were going to make a reservation online call that location and verify before you assume that corporation has you covered because they absolutely don't and they will screw you over every chance they get. This was by far the best experience I've ever had renting a truck. Roy, the general manager, was the best. He renewed my trust in U-Haul. Earlier that morning another U-Haul location off of Sooner road failed to deliver on a reservation we had made 4 days earlier! They said the trailer was stolen and didn't offer much of a solution. Charged for two dollys when I never got one. Gas was below a quarter of a tank and they tried to charge me 30 and then 20 for fuel charges. This was actually the fourth location I visited to rent a trailer AFTER making three other reservations and being "served" by idiots! The majority of U-Haul staff I worked with throughout this ordeal were completely incompetent.Jan K.
I have used this location many times without a problem, but this instance I had a very uncomfortable interaction with the General Manager. I came into the shop to pick up my reserved truck, and I was wearing a face mask. The General Manager greeted me at the counter and I told him I had a truck reserved and I needed to pick it up. He informed me he was deaf and usually reads lips to communicate, and I would need to remove my mask. I briefly removed my mask to repeat that I was picking up a truck, then put it back on. He then started to tell me "well I don't believe in masks anymore and let me tell you why...." I asked him to please not tell me why, that's not necessary. But he continued with a story about he and his wife both being hospitalized with Covid, nearly dying, and then giving up all belief in any covid precautions. He also continued to have conversations with me and his coworker, seemingly with no problem, without ever looking at anyone's lips. In my perception, this man lied about having a disability to get me to remove my mask because it was not in line with his personal beliefs. This is unacceptable in any situation, but especially in a business setting from someone who is supposed to be the top employee of this location. This man does not represent your company well and this one interaction will likely mean I will not use this location, and possibly this company, ever again. He also proceeded to tell me he was supposed to retire 2 years ago but can't because nobody wants to work anymore, and wondered if I knew any young people who like to work hard. The whole conversation was inappropriate, offensive, and uncomfortable.KELSEY K.

Man I feel that the people at uhaul were more than generous. I was able to rent a vehicle to pick up my parts, and in a time of dire need the uhaul people were exceptionally helpful. My storage unit was broken into. My rent was late and the staff put red tags and an additional lock so that tenants don't have access until payment is made. That's not my issue. The issue was that someone broke in after U-haul tampered with my door. U-haul claims they added an additional lock and that doesn't seem to be the case since there wasn't a lock found. My personal lock was found. In fact, it seems that U-haul put a tag on my door, no lock, and essentially marked it to be broken into with a red tag. It gave the appearance that my unit was abandoned and therefore more targetable for thief's. The video cameras have not been looked through and I haven't heard back. This was a poor management of my unit and so emotionally taxing for me. I was told there were break-ins that week, and tenants weren't notified of the break ins. Truck had not been cleaned prior to pick up and we were questioned like we had been dirtied up the truck. Although the staff was very friendly and super helpful, the storage unit was not secure. The fact that the hinges had the nuts on the outside of the door made for an easy target for theft, which in fact happened. Not only was my unit broken into, but while I was standing in line to report that I was vacating my unit, Two other people were talking about their units being broken into.! Mine happened around Thanksgiving, and theirs happened apparently mid January. There were four customers in the lobby, and three of them had units that were broken into? What are the odds? To me, that says that 75% of all units had probably been tampered with! Absurd! When you walk into the lobby, there's a giant screen displaying evidence of security cameras. This leads the customer to believe that the building is secure. I was shocked to find out that the cameras were only protecting entry ways. I never ever would have rented had I known that there was zero security and that my unit basically had an invitation to thieves by having the hinges installed backwards. Under staffed and too open accessibility and no cameras or security. Someone can get In and out with a half storage full of goods as what happened to my storage unit robbed and ransacked upon my arrival to move out. So under staffed hard to get the assistance and support of reporting showing and calling police and getting locked in elevator under duress and disstisfaction of my unit being robbed of halfway only processions as though I placed them on a curb not a secure storage facility.Camerss or continuous patrol should be in where storage units are and more fully staffed to accommodate such incidents and more secure in out process of storage facility Sometimes no one in office for at least 20 to30 minutes and any one can enter and take supplies. I know I stood there once fit ten minutes plus knocking on doors plus going out to parking lot to get assistance thinking someone can actually have s field day in here unattended but with service I must say staff was helpful but not my level of expantcy. After paying all the insurance and fees I expect more in service. Also not supplying my trucks both times without my moving diollies.. or maybe because I don't seem rich or I am not white or ? Not seen as someone who reads or take time to get insurance and write reviews Customer service practices should be given to all that walks through that door at the highest level but so hard to do when understaffed or on smoke breaks.. finding out after police arrived was not only unit compromised but at first was treated as unbelievable and told to call cops myself under duress. .have not been contacted yet by uhaul inregards to theft.Bernita M. | Overall Experience

I got kicked out of my unit and evicted even so there's no reason for eviction. As I was always on time and in full all payments due for renting unit. I was also harassed as though I was a suspect and a burglary that had occurred in the same storage facility though I was exonerated not guilty of anything except being aggravated at being locked out of my unit when I needed in my unit for my tools for work. I lost money because of their incompetence. Never so much an apology for trespassing on my business by locking me out when there was no proof that I had anything to do with their security breach. I I was left with an eviction letter on my unit door with no reason as to why I must leave. Then after I left three days after I got said notice I had started to receive late payment notices failure to pay rent and threats of locking me out from my stuff even though I had already moved everything out. I would like to know that there is some sort of checks and balances for customers who are loyal and spend more time and earnings with the contingent that U-Haul Nationwide provide. I have thought about PR but it's also thought that two wrongs don't make a right I'm going to try and rent a truck from you guys tomorrow again but not from bricktown of course but where I move to the other side of town American Storage in Oklahoma City number 3 have been the best they could be as Representatives of U-Haul and it's family tree.Michael J. | Overall Experience

Although it's been over a decade since I moved in to the Bricktown - OKC facility by chance wanted to go to Southern California hoping to find work but, didn't have the complete financial means to move across the US with the U-Haul trailer & truck! I'm glad I did and was able to pay my lien off slowly but, surely over time. My greatest wish about that warm March day was how friendly the staff under Lonnie was and under Roy continue to be. Thanks for the U-Haul equivalent to PODS, U-Box! Because truthfully I really need this product in the past and present and someday as an empty-nester for the future! Thanks and hope to retrieve my belongings soon and get what's left of them after the fire and water damage in a slightly good condition. If, not no fair no foul: forgot about changing weather in OKC and the southern Great Plains! Thanks and hopefully will be there in person sometime in mid to late 2021! We arrived with Three loaded Trucks that each had a car hauler behind it and they got us right in and set up with storage in record time even thought they were short handed that day. They even let us use a pallet jack for some very heavy items and helped with a forklift to move a couple safes. And, when it came time to move our belongings to the new house, Roy even assisted with backing the truck up to the loading dock for my niece. The upfront reservation and storage experience was great. People on the phone were courteous. We had arranged to store our college student's items , with the 1st month free option extended, and someone local brought the items to storage on our behalf, in March. Upon arrival, in August, to remove the items from storage, it was a frustrating experience. We had a 4pm reservation to pickup a van. We had to look outside to find someone working. The van wasn't available. The person working was not courteous. We were told we could have a small truck for the same price, but ended up having to pay more for insurance. We said we hadn't been there, so we weren't familiar, and so were given a map, and had to figure out everything on our own. When we came in to check out, after getting items, the employee had earbuds in at the desk. We had to ask/figure out what to do with the ramp at truck bay. I rented a Uhaul vehicle in Texas to move my things to Oklahoma City. I was promised free storage in Oklahoma for 1 month and thereafter pay 74.95 monthly. I received my first statement for 84.95. Spoke with the headquarter and told them of the deal that was offered to me. Headquarter did honor the initial deal, but I continue to receive multiple letters in the mail every month saying that I owe delinquent fees.Crystal T. | Overall Experience
I arrived on a Sunday morning to move my items out of the 3rd floor climate controlled storage. I was informed the power was out and would likely not come back on for several hours. My movers and I agreed to reschedule for Monday. Upon arrival on Monday the power was still out with no indication of when it would be back on. My movers and I rescheduled for Tuesday afternoon. Again there was no power. In fact it wasn't until Wednesday that the power was back on. Thankfully my movers were flexible and willing to adjust and I didn't have to take off of work to make this all happen. However the fact my climate controlled unit wasn't controlled for several days is also frustration. Thankfully non of my items were damaged.
