Although the staff was very friendly and super helpful, the storage unit was not secure. The fact that the hinges had the nuts on the outside of the door made for an easy target for theft, which in fact happened. Not only was my unit broken into, but while I was standing in line to report that I was vacating my unit, Two other people were talking about their units being broken into.! Mine happened around Thanksgiving, and theirs happened apparently mid January. There were four customers in the lobby, and three of them had units that were broken into? What are the odds? To me, that says that 75% of all units had probably been tampered with! Absurd! When you walk into the lobby, there's a giant screen displaying evidence of security cameras. This leads the customer to believe that the building is secure. I was shocked to find out that the cameras were only protecting entry ways. I never ever would have rented had I known that there was zero security and that my unit basically had an invitation to thieves by having the hinges installed backwards. Very disappointed and upset and I will be leaving a Google review to warn other future tenants.

I would not recommend the mobile check-out option, either. The website was slow, plus the first link I was sent via text did not work. So I had to call customer service for a new link in order to check out. I do not like that the process requires confirming I'm at the right place by sharing my location. That's where the website kept messing up, no matter which browser i used. I would rather just hit a button confirming I'm at the right UHAUL location.

Sales rep admitted to me during the return that they knowingly rented me a truck with faulty breaks. Truck braked on me at highway speeds out of nowhere almost causing multiple accidents. When I mentioned it during the return, I was met with “I know, management won't let us take it off the lot”. This is horrible, and gross. They said “that's why I try not to rent that one”. That's pretty horrible if you ask me. Is it assumed that maybe somebody will crash it and be forced to repay you for it?? I almost crashed it multiple times as it literally slammed the brakes at high speed. I'm disgusted that management at this location would sign off on a truck this dangerous.

I booked an open 4x7 utility trailer and told the woman on the phone that I would be returning it to Claremore ok when I got there they told me I couldn't do that I had to rent an enclosed trailer for twice the cost and I had to rent it for to day I was not happy but I had already driven an hour and a half to pick up the load and was out of time

The seat was extremely torn the transmission had to be wiggled until it would start and run a standard Ford thing that's just an adjustment the overall condition of the facility that we rented out was clean the people were neat and tidy and prompt and well educated and helpful

We had also rented six dozen moving mats and a dolly. When we picked up the truck, these items weren't included with it. Admittedly, we should have checked before we left, but the staff was able to remedy this quickly.

The staff were awesome. The truck on the other hand had issues. The truck needs an alignment (pulls to the right), has a bad shake at speeds of 57 mph and above, also the drivers side rear brakes almost caught fire due to some type of oil on the brake system/ wheel. Noticed a large amount of smoke from that wheel after coming down a hill that the speed decreased while loaded and had to use them alot to slow down. I purchased a fire extinguisher after that to protect my belongings in the truck. So overall people and location awesome. Upkeep on that specific truck needs alot of attention.

The employees need to be more safety-conscious. I paid U-hall to install a hitch on my car, but the installer forgets to tighten/secure the hitch to my vehicle, which was discovered, while the mechanic from a different shop was changing the rear brakes on my vehicle. Had this not been caught by the mechanic the hitch and trailer could have dislodged and potentially caused a serious accident.

The trailer was fine but the previous renter didn't clean it up entirely. There was something spilled along the wall of the trailer on the right side and there were thousands of ants. The rental location should have inspected it better before lease it out again.

the self-checkin experience is absolutely awful. that is not a reflection of this specific u-haul location. I also put in 0.1 gallons more than suggested (6g vs suggested 5.9g) on the paper and I still got charged for 2 gallons more. I also chose the dollys for in case we needed them because I expected them to be tagged and that I be charged only if I chose to use it, but that changed which is very annoying.

Although it's been over a decade since I moved in to the Bricktown - OKC facility by chance wanted to go to Southern California hoping to find work but, didn't have the complete financial means to move across the US with the U-Haul trailer & truck! I'm glad I did and was able to pay my lien off slowly but, surely over time. My greatest wish about that warm March day was how friendly the staff under Lonnie was and under Roy continue to be. Thanks for the U-Haul equivalent to PODS, U-Box! Because truthfully I really need this product in the past and present and someday as an empty-nester for the future! Thanks and hope to retrieve my belongings soon and get what's left of them after the fire and water damage in a slightly good condition. If, not no fair no foul: forgot about changing weather in OKC and the southern Great Plains! Thanks and hopefully will be there in person sometime in mid to late 2021! At least tornado season here as well as there! Thank you for all you have done for me it well appreciated!
