The personnel at that location was unwilling to help, not knowledgeable of rules, no able to make changes on reservation for an upgrade. Not anything, monosyllabic and annoyed The teller was slow and impatient, he did not had the required type of locks to sale and had no idea the locks were already inside de units, I explained o bought it online but him did not care therefore he made buy another type of lock or I could NOT move in and once I've got to the United there was the new proper lock taped to the floor, which I believe is the standards, but he had no idea and made me feel so afraid after a whole day of packing and driving a truck. And I lost the money and have an unsuccessful lock with me It was 5:45 pm and the facility suppose to close at 7pm it was so bad, I decided call Uhaul customer service right there to ask for help on only when him saw it he started to be more polite ... they need to be trained about the storage service urgently

I've been renting from u-haul for the past 3 years since I started my moving business. This is the first time I got charged an extra day, extra insurance, and extra everything for 2 hrs return later that it wasn't my fault. The guy at the counter gave me the key, send me to find my own truck, truck was blocking by another truck then he gave me another truck BUT DIDN'T SEND ME THE TEXT TO CHECK THE TRUCK FOR ANY DAMAGES.. Low in gas. Extremely disappointed!!. Never happened before. Guy who helped me was a mess...this guy made me wait 45 minutes. Once again, they never sent me the contract when I picked up the truck. The charge me $100 plus for only 11 miles. I usually pay $45 to 55 dollars.

I have no problem with the location I used. My problem is with the company writ large. Trying to get through on the phone is a nightmare and takes a huge amount of time. You clearly need to hire and train more people for phone service. And when I do reach people, I've had them enter the wrong dates, the wrong equipment, not communicate with the location about the reservation they assure me they have made. UHaul the company writ large has become incredibly unfriendly to the customers trying to use the services you ostensibly offer.

There were too many warning lights on during the whole rental, 1-need brakes,2- need oil change, 3-tire low, they forgot to give me a utility dolly had to come back to get it, efficiency could have been a little better as far as equipment.

The desk worker on may 1 at 3pm was extremely rude and unhelpful. We were not allowed to access our storage which we had scheduled two weeks prior. I saw zero effort on her part to assist us or understand the predicament we were in as a result of u-haul storage. She maintained that the system was down period. She communicated loudly and clearly that she didn't really care. My daughter needs to be refunded in full. Her name is Isadora Shannon. She paid for services which were not rendered. Please credit her credit card in full. We paid for one month of storage and were not granted our storage. We were forced to contract with another facility which took considerable time and energy. She will be contacting you to reimburse her account.

UBox worked out very well. On the other hand, Uhaul has the absolute worst website of any company I have dealt with in the last 10 years. Multiple times there was information that was not updated or there would be endless loops back to the home page. Website not even at the 1st grade level. Very frustrating.

I actually had an issue. I returned the U-haul van in about an hour and turned in the key. However, I received a message several hours later that the van would be due back on Monday. I had already returned the van, but went to the u-haul office to resolve this. The manager was not available but staff forwarded the issue to the manager. The manager was able to resolve the issue to my satisfaction today, Monday, after I followed up via phone. That is excellent customer service in my book! Thank you U-Haul. -;-)

Your customer service was excellent. Jamel, i hope I spelled his named right, was great in making sure I was able to pick up the rental truck and helped me maneuvering out the drive way. The team is excellent. My biggest challenge was trying to speak to someone in the office to end the contract- Last week I called over 10 times and was on hold for 15-30 minutes but never reaching the office. The call only went to the call center twice and I left a request for a callback but never got one.

I reserved a storage unit online and when I arrived at the office I completed the reservation and paid for it. When I went to access the unit, it was locked. The sole staff member on duty didn't have an explanation and couldn't figure out what to do about it. After over 60 minutes of waiting, she determined that the unit wasn't available and that there were NO available units at the facility. She said she would reverse the charge but it is still pending on my account.

Where do I begin? When I arrived, the lady “R” was aggressively insisting that everyone do the mobile checkin while a skinny young male employee walks up cursing up a storm in front of all of us, saying that he didn't want to be there and that he should've called in sick. Their energy was not pleasant and not how we (the customers) wanted to start our day, we spoke about it as they were rushing around trying to open the location. If a reservation is scheduled for 9am then the location should be open and prepared to check people in at that time, otherwise don't give us the option. I paid movers for half an hour to just sit there because the Uhaul employees couldn't get it together. Apparently someone jammed the key return box and also parked the truck in the driveway making it impossible for renters to exit if cars were parked in the slots adjacent. So the kid was focused on opening the jammed box instead of bringing the trucks around for us customers, despite “R's” orders. She gave me the keys to my own truck and when I got there I was boxed in so I had to go back and wait for the other truck to be moved so I could get out. If I didn't take control, I would've been there for another hour. Then there was the dolly issue. She told me to pull up and she'll see me on the camera and will come out to give me my dollies. I had to walk in and remind her (she was busy with a long line), and when she came out, the dollies were still locked up (she was upset the skinny male didn't open them) and she had to go back and look for the keys. So many issues and delays. When it's time to exit, the customer before me was just waiting for his dolly blocking the whole lane - “R” was too busy to notice. I had to do UHauls job and redirect traffic. I went inside and asked 2 cars to move their cars 3 spots over, along with mine, redirecting the other customer in the truck to pull to the right (which took forever), holding new traffic and telling them where to park so we could drive around the stuck truck and create our own exit. Meanwhile I see the kid strolling back our way at the end of it all slowly and relaxed. Why did I have to do this? Why was the location not prepared to receive us at 9am if my reservation was for 9am? Why did they not have a spare key to move the truck? Why did the second rep checking in customers (male) not have a sense of urgency while a line is forming out the door? “R” did her best but the whole thing was a mess and it was an awful experience all around.

The truck we rented had been involved in an accident prior to our renting and the tail light was literally hanging by the wire. Also, we ran into bad traffic returning the truck. We encountered numerous issues with a drop off location in Los Angeles (you can listen to the call from 3/30/21 for more information). Miserable experience. The eventual location went smoothly, but getting to that point was not something I will go through again. You have locations, on the U-Haul website, showing rental and drop-off locations that are no longer working with U-Haul, but there are photos of the building, address, phone numbers, etc. that remain on your website, AND the phone reps still say these are valid drop off spots. You need to fix this problem.

My only critical feedback would be that I returned the rented moving blankets less than an hour into the 3rd day, but was charged for the additional day. This could be completely computer-triggered, but I would think there would be either a grace period or some kind of prorated calculation. It was only $5 so it was not a big deal but if I had rented something more significant I think I would have been dissatisfied.

For the second time I was charged for an undisclosed fee. This is unacceptable. When I inquire about the charge, I am always told to speak with a specifics individual and they are NEVER available. I used the truck for little over one hour and drove it 9 miles. Estimated charges $32. I was charged an additional $23.00 to my card. Why? The Truck I rented for my last use was dirty and the bed of truck was filled with tree droppings.

I want to compliment Amber, the manager. I had to leave LA due to Covid and this facility was the closest to my apartment. Therefore, due to the rush, I had to rent a truck a couple times, and then even change storage units once. The one constant the facility was Amber - who I see online is the manager - always out on the floor helping people, out with the trucks, and always with a smile. The place was often short staffing (in my opinion) and yet she ensured things were smooth with multiple customers, truck issues, crowds of people in line, and the like. Especially during the initial covid period. As an executive officer in another industry, I can tell you that you guys have a gem in Amber. Because of her, I'll be using UHaul again in the future.

It took 3 cans to get one that didn't have major problems like low air pressure or broken passenger door. Way understaffed. Took forever. Return was a nightmare. Person responsible decided to take a personal call instead of dealing with me. When i protested he said go inside which I did. They said the person outside should help me. Ridiculous. Hi Amber, Good morning. Happy New Year! I hope you are doing well and had a good quality time with your loved ones. I am writing to you as I am facing issue with my storage unit when I've reserved with Aijah - checked-in on 12/21/2020. The storage unit that I've wanted in your showroom was 5x10 with long open door from top to bottom that said fit for studio to one bedroom capacity. But then I was given a small door half of my body storage unit number 1355 which quite surprising and they do not have the one I wanted when it was booked reserved couple days before I checked-in, so its quite disappointing because I cannot bring my furniture that time, when I talked to Aijah again it seems there is a system error with the measurement in the system and actual size unit. I was being charged the same price for 5x10 but I've got smaller storage unit which I found that doesn't make any sense. Aijah realized the issue and told me to contacted you regarding this matter. Could you please assist to revise/ fix the pricing in your system accordingly and send me the update contract via email? I look forward to your positive response at your convenience time. Mary was overwhelmed and lacked to show good customer service while moving in. We were rented a unit that was full, but was told was available. When I informed Mary of this, she stated to me she was busy and she would address me when possible. I was frustrated, upset, but the associate in the back came to the rental center to assist me. Mary seen the attendant helping me to the best of his ability and finally helped. The alarm went off 3 times and it took us 2 hours to move in. All in all it was a bad experience, the GM Amber was concerned with leaving the premise more so than helping customers on a busy day. Amber left her car parked in the middle of the driveway and got out of her car to walk back in the office. Amber could of help, but elected not to. It was a horrible experience, but me and Mary were able to rectify the situation. I just feel bad for those whom these personals will offend in the future. I hope they get their customer service abilities together.

The Manager at the Baldwin Hills location, Amber, is most amazing. That location is always extremely busy. She is always calm, polite and even tempered regardless of the temperament of the clients or their behavior. Kudos to you for good customer service training and very smart hiring choice of an excellent employee and manager!

I had no issues with any Uhaul staff members, but I am having continuous problems with your internal system. I rented a truck and storage unit and your system has given me issues with both rentals. I paid $510 to rent the truck which is what I agreed to, however after dropping off the truck, they charged me an additional $660 which I did not agree to. Now the $1200 has been taken out of my account and no one is helping me get my $660 back. Please I need this money back ASAP

The entire experience starting in Kansas City was terrible. We went in to pick up our truck and were looked at by employees and not greeted or acknowledged at all. The truck was very dirty on the inside. We went to return it in Los Angeles and again were not greeted when returning. I pulled the truck up where it said to and there was a worker doing something to the truck in front of us. Looked at me then looked away. I went inside to initiate the return and again was ignored. I had to go up to her after standing along (and was noticed) and ask her to start my return. She says you just pull the truck up where the sign says. I did I did. She got on a walkie talkie and told someone that I had just pulled up the truck. He said yes I know, I'm in it now. Would have been nice to be acknowledged by him that he was going to be there soon. I went back a few days later to take advantage of the offer for a storage unit. My car was full of things to store there. I had a great experience over the phone when I reserved it, he was great and helpful. However that changed when I got to the location. I walked in to find out which unit was mine. She was on the phone so I waited. She got off the phone and I stood there for a few minutes without being acknowledged, yet again. She asked how she could help and I told her why I was there. She said just use the app. I said okay thanks. The app was trying to charge me the full amount so I went back in because the month was supposed to be free. She then had another phone call but did acknowledge me when she hung up. I told her the situation and she told me I'd have to wait a bit because she had to go do something with a forklift. I waited over 30 minutes inside with her nowhere to be found. Someone that worked there came in on their day off and saw three of us standing there. She asked where the lady was. I said she said something about using a forklift. She responded back that oh she must be super busy then. She then logged on the computer on her day off to help us out. Fifteen minutes later I was able to head over and store my stuff. So after 45 min of that lady knowing I was still in there not being helped, she never came in and I never saw her again. Terrible terrible experience for an already stressful situation moving across country. Especially when it cost $2,000 and received horrible customer service.

I have been given the run-around. I picked up the truck which had no gas. They never credited my card back for return. They misled me on storage so I had to pay for storage! Call phone support and the contradict what I was told. Keep trying to contact Garland, TX office but no return call.
