Your camera function doesn't work well on the app. It didn't save my license pic. When I returned the truck, my pic of the odometer wouldn't upload. They told me to leave it and they would do it. When I got my receipt, the mileage was wrong by .80 adding an extra 75 cents to my bill.

Inside of cab was dirty but not unexpected. Spilt drink on door but I was given uhaul immediately after it was just returned by another so they did not have time to clean it. Given the current state of covid, I highly recommend proper cleaning. Otherwise vehicle was in great working order compared to the last one, three years ago, I rented.

I was charged $20 extra for bringing the trailer back early. Plus I waited in line 20 minutes and left becuase I was still the 4th person in line and no movement had taken place in the 20 minutes. So I came back a couple hours later and another 20 minutes before I was waited on.

This whole thing has been terrible. Missed date for pickup, late pickup 3 days later, late delivery to final location, Ubox door broken from transit, our goods were wet. Long wait times on the phone. Still haven't received the refund I was told I was receiving. Nothing was done as promised. It has been terrible and I don't look for fault, it's just been terrible.

I've used U-Haul for 30 years, 2 cross USA moves. Multiple local moves and equipment rentals. I've never experienced the rudeness, and passive aggressive behavior of one of your agents at this location.

Because of this, I was "late" returning the truck & WAS CHARGED ANOTHER DAY, then I got charged another 75.00 for LOOSING a handcart that was never given to me.

Your staff onsite is the key to great service. I have always had excellent customer service at the Old Seward location. People are knowledgeable, will go the extra yard for you and are upfront if what I need I can't get at the time. Staff that do the check-ins and check-outs personally take pride in doing it right. Although interior was fairly clean & completely functional, my household goods got wet because the truck leaked above the attic area. Fortunately, nothing too delicate or important was stored there. However, my main purpose for renting the truck was to keep things out of the weather. Roofs need to be more thoroughly water tested before renting, if possible. Staff was helpful & accommodating in changing my rental size…which was a huge help.

Reserved 5x8 cargo trailer unavailable. Local agent (Jamie) was unsympathetic and told me to take or leave whatever else they had. She said I could drive 3 hours to the next nearest location with a 5x8 trailer available. I ended up taking a motorcycle trailer but had to buy a tarp, bungee chord, and binding straps. We encountered a severe storm and our luggage and contents got wet. I contacted Uhal copr when we arrived in Fairbanks and they said I could trade the motorcycle trailer in for a cargo trailer. I went to the location I was told and the local rep (Damien) became irate and started yelling at me that they weren't going to let me take one of "their" trailers. I tried to call the local manager who the agent had talked to and he refused to take my calls. I called Uhaul corp again and was told to contact another manager, I then called Jolene Stracuzzi and she was very understanding and helpful and arranged for us to swap the motorcycle trailer for a 5x8 cargo trailer at one of her Fairbanks locations. And her guy at the location was also very understanding and helpful. I also want to thank Richard at the Anchorage location who was sympathetic but unable to help us. He set everything up on the motorcycle trailer. Uhaul advertises that you get $50 if they don't have the reserved equipment in stock. I think Uhaul should refund the full amount. We were a party of six handicapped individuals who struggled to see Alaska and Uhaul made it far more difficult!

change the block that states how long you want the vehicle for to zero which will force you to put in a number instead of it automatically being 4 hours. It is easy to just breeze by thinking you have it for 24 hours since you pay by the day regardless of if its 4 hours or 24.

Made my reservation months in advance. After pickup location changed three times, Day of pickup “nothing available”. Uhaul traffic center personnel are rude and unhelpful. Saying “Sorry, nothing we can do”. No one knows what going on. After a wasted day I trying to track down a trailer through phone calls, I was told a trailer was available 50 miles away. I drove to the location and saw two 6x12 trailers in their lot. I was then told nothing was available because the trailers needed “serviced”. UHaul customer service sucks!!!

This is by far the best uhaul location I have ever been to. They were very accommodating and helpful to me. We are military and have used uhaul numerous times and this is one of the first times that it has been truly hassle free and a pleasant experience. Awesome staff!!!

The last time we rented the mail person their gave my sister a very hard time. We had a uhaul reserved but she still owed money. She had the money they would not ake it because a supervisor was not their. We went back home and got a call from a lady and she said come back there was a supervisor was there. We reserved uboxes to relocate from AK to NC. The website indicates we have 48 hours to load our boxes before returning to U-Haul, but upon pickup we were told they were short on trailers and I'd have to return my loaded boxes within a matter of hours. This is completely unreasonable fir a transcontinental shipment. The entire experience went south from that point, very rude customer service at every step of dealing with the destination U-Haul office, no forklift operator for days after our shipment arrived in Raleigh, the pods were ready to be picked back up unloaded within 2 hours of being dropped off but they took over 2.5 weeks to pick them up. Just a terrible experience overall, although the Anchorage U-Haul facility was only a minor part of the problem.

I dropped off the truck within the 24 hour period I rented for. I spoke with the person checking in vehicles when I dropped it off. She said I was good to go and knew it was returned. When I received the bill they added an additional full day because they showed the vehicle as checked in 7 minutes beyond the 24 hour rental period ended. This is incorrect as I returned the vehicle within the 24 time window. Very disappointing as I am a regular U-haul renter and have never had this type of experience.

Online process was excellent. I received emails regarding access codes and times the facility was open. Then, got to the site with a friend to download a trailer full of belongings and the building and storage room I was assigned was not accessible when I arrived at 7:30 pm. The emails I received showed 24 hours access and another from 5 am to 10 pm. But, the building sign showed 7 am to 7 pm. I was frustrated that I couldn’t get after hour assistance as well. I had to take additional time off from work to download everything without assistance the next day. I do appreciate the young lady at the counter the next day however, she listened to my concerns and helped me extend the rental trailer that was due in that day and even got me a storage unit switched over to the building that was accessible to me after 7 pm. This really turned a difficult situation into a good outcome and showed me their customer service commitment. I am a person that expects businesses to practice what they preach in all aspects and will communicate any discrepancies to the highest levels of management. But, I will also give a positive response to good customer service assistance when It’s done. So, I personally want to thank this team at the front rental counter for the excellent experience after my frustration with the initial online and on-site move. Thank you for taking care of this once frustrated customer.

Staff were very kind and personable; however, the second floor of the storage facility is not ADA-accessible (there is no elevator, only stairs) and the only available storage unit in the size I needed was on the second floor. Because of mobility issues and lack of ADA access, it will take me multiple days to finish unloading my items into my unit. In addition, to unload or load items into/from the units you have to enter through the main store entrance and have staff accompany you to unlock side doors that access a narrow alley outside. Otherwise you’re forced to cart them through the main store area, which is difficult to maneuver a dolly or flat cart through, and through multiple card-keyed doors that you must register and unlock each time. To access the alley you must go in the main store and request that staff accompany you to unlock the outside access doors in an alley then walk back out to the front to drive your vehicle around to the alley. The alley is barely wide enough to accommodate a parked vehicle while allowing any others to pass yet it is the only exit for all vehicles being used to access the storage unit areas. Five stars for the employees (and it’s not their fault the building was built the way it was), one star for accessibility difficulties. Giving it an overall rating of “below average” as all other storage facilities I’ve ever been to are ADA-accessible and do not suffer from the complex vehicle access challenges this one has. I would have chosen a different facility but my U-pod is being shipped to and stored at this one and once it arrives I plan to the items from my storage unit into it. I didn’t want to be juggling storage at two different businesses.

International self storage on c str and international in Anchorage I feel the ones running it is who is trying to break in. It happened during day not at night they claimed Our stuff was safe but I wasn't taking chances. I got a unit at unhaul right away. Be warned it is not worth going any place else. Besides u-haul offers insurance. That alone is worth it to me. The woman who helped us was super awesome and showed us how to gain access and gave us a map. She totally rocks!!!!!!!!(

I moved out properly and I was still charged rent the next month and even a late fee. I called this location and was never able to get a hold of anyone, and would have to wait literally hours on the general customer service line. It took three calls to the customer service line to resolve the issue--lors of wasted time.

Code was wrong. I had to go in. Girl at the counter said my code would work. It did not. Came back a 2nd time and the code still did not work. I was then informed that access to storage on my side is only until 7 pm? I still don't know if that's true but the fact that there is confusion about whether or not I can get to my unit at the quote AND EMAILED time 5am to 10pm pisses me off. I will not be getting a 2nd month and I will move my business elsewhere. My code did not work so the girl gave me a new code. That one worked, but it should never have even been an issue. Get your crap together uhaul.

Hi so I reserve a storage where I have an access for 24 hours and when I got there they didnt even know I had a storage unit reserved and on top of that i thought when u sign up reserve we get free automatic pad locks? I have to pay for the lock waited and greeted with unpleasant attitude but thats fine because it seems like the guy was having a bad day and hard day. So i was wondering if The one i signed up and reserved to have an access for 24hours is available because thats why i rented the uhaul so I can go back and fort. And I didn’t have the chance to look at my reservation space? So i would like to talk to the branch manager or the owner of the company because, likewise I had a long day but i dont be bringing that to work so If you have a chance my number is (907) 744-4292.. please give that or have the manager, owner call me. The only issue I had was having to put in access code to one side before I could use the access code machine that my building had across from eachother. Also, there was no lighting in unit, being it winter in AK most months out of the year' it was inconvenient.

Ray was God Sent. I’ve been to this U-Haul location a few times and Ray has always been Professional, kind, and expeditious. I almost gave away and vintage bicycle due to a move and lack of space when Ray asked, do you need a rental unit? We recently had a bunch come available. His question was the answer I needed in the Fog of the stress of my Move. Thank you Ray for always being at your Best.

The young man working the front desk lacks in customer service skills. I feel that he is not knowledgeable about the storage options and he did not provide clarity about location of the unit we rented and did not mention that uhaul had their own locks on the unit. The person that answered the phone when we realized we could not access the unit due to being locked, was very helpful and had someone come unlock the unit for us very quickly. Overall the Uhaul experience was great, with the exception of the young man at the desk, he may need more training on how to interact with customers. Thank you!

If you want a square to put your belongings in, Uhaul has expensive rooms for that. If you want to wait forever in line, Uhaul knows how to waste your time. If you wanted to be offended, Uhaul hires the best customer service people for that. I’ll tell you, if I am providing you a good amount of money for a weak service, and your employees give me any attitude (hateful female I have encountered twice), or do not make me feel valued as a customer; I will create accounts around the web and make this review noticed. You want to waste my time, charge my card and hold my money, and then when I call to speak with the General Manager, Steve Womack doesn’t answer. What a disgrace to the Uhaul community. It is difficult to mess up a franchise, where all you have to do is support the business model and keep happy customers.

My experience with Uhaul storage was perfect until the day I moved out. I had reserved a 10' truck to move out my belongings on the last day of my billing cycle. The reservation was for a return trip with a base cost of $19.99. When I arrived to pick up the truck, I was told by the Asst. Mgr there were no 10' trucks to rent, that Uhaul had overbooked. I was then told there was a 10' truck but it was only for one ways and it would be $118 and I'd have to drop it off at another Uhaul location. I was not going to pay $100 more for a truck especially b/c this was not my fault. Nor did I have the time to drop the truck off on the other side of town. I instead started unloading my storage with my car but because the location closes at 7 I had to return the next day to finish. The Asst Mngr said I wouldn't be charged for the next month since I was now on day 1 of the next billing cycle, but I was charged and had to speak with a Uhaul rep (Raymond - who was excellent!) about reversing the charges. I had to take off the 1/2 half of this day from work in order to empty the storage unit as well. Lastly, when I asked about the $50 guarantee that's posted on your wall behind the counter, I was told my reservation didn't qualify because of the overbooking. This makes no sense. I made a reservation - the reservation was not fulfilled. It caused me all sorts of trouble, but the guarantee isn't valid because you overbooked? I have worked as a Logisitics Manager the past decade and have both used Uhaul for personal moves as well as for work related moves. I'll be hesitant to put myself in the same position with the company going forward and will be looking at other options.
