the truck I was given only averaged 5.1 miles per gallon. I drove 46 miles I put in 7.4 gallons of gas and was charged for another 1.5 gallons of gas; your truck took 8.9 gallons of gas to drive 46 miles. when I googled the average mileage of a 10 foot uhaul it said the average is 8 to 12 miles per gallon. I did not get even close to that for mileage; For mileage to be so low it has to be a mechanical issue not of my fault. Uhaul is a rip off and I will never rent another vehicle from this company.

I was lied to, and the CSR guy raised his voice at me like I had stolen his equipment. He would not listen to the events which surrounded my rental and continued repeatedly telling me i was an illegal driver. I could not have gotten the keys for the truck unless someone from UHAUL had not authorized and approved me. I DID NOT STEAL OR MISREPRESENT ANYTHING.

Check warning lights on dashboard make sure there's none on before turning it over to a customer, the dripping light was on I'm guessing it's a sensor, but wasn't listed as approved on the checklist for customer to check mark that as one of the items Uhaul is aware of. The waiting period for equipment return lane was too long, no one outside to meet us upon arrival during business hours, the sign says to wait in our equipment upon arrival for return, since there was no one around, I went inside to stand in line before my return time is up. One of the employees finally came to the vehicle after 15-20 min. waiting in the truck so I had to get out and walked inside the store and got back outside. The line waiting in the store is also too long, one person at the counter handling customers for over than 15 min is kinda awful, probably need to have multiple people with this busy location I'm sure. The Uhaul truck I picked saved me from multiple trips, it was a one time only trip. One of the best thing I like about Uhaul, low and affordable pricing and I am happy with how they handled initial order/reservation processing every time I rented there.

I was over charged. And when I called this morning inquiring why I was over charged, I was told that I did not put gas in the vehicle when I returned it. I am so disappointed because when I pick up the vehicle it was not on full tank and when I returned the vehicle I put a full thank of gas. I do not understand what type of scam is going on. I have been renting from Uhaul for many years and never had an issue. I know the drill. I went out of my way to put a full tank of gas and am being told I did not put gas in the vehicle. Usually I wait until they check me out but the lady told me you can leave and we will email you your receipt and then they over charged me. Out of principal, I want to be refunded for the gas they charged me because what they are saying is not true.. It's a flat out lie. Thanks, Amadou.

The only issue I had was having to put in access code to one side before I could use the access code machine that my building had across from eachother. Also, there was no lighting in unit, being it winter in AK most months out of the year' it was inconvenient.

The owner helped us get checked out. He was great, the process at the register was quick and helpful. We had an unavoidable delay in returning the truck. I called Uhaul 10 minutes before our reservation ended, it was no problem they extended our reservation free of charge for the 2 additional hours we requested. Another representative called and confirmed that the reservation was extended, I appreciated that! I've used this location a number of times (and will continue to do so), there always seems to be more customers than employees. So, if you're on a schedule go early to give yourself extra time to get your truck. The online checkout didn't work for me, it could have been user error. I wish there was an app or a more user friendly way to pickup/checkout online. Overall a good experience; everyone was helpful, truck was clean and worked well, extended reserved time free of charge. Thank you!

I selected mobile pick up to streamline the process and avoid waiting in lines or doing extra steps as I was on a tight schedule but when I arrived and checked in, the map of the lot was inaccurate and I ended up having to go inside and wait in line to ask for better directions to the truck. It was literally the farthest vehicle away from the building at the very back of the lot, which would have been fine, except that the staff did not tell me I would need to pick up the key inside the store and sent me all the way across the property only to have to come all the way back to get the key and go back to the truck. I hope to not need to move again for a very long time but if I did need a U-Haul again, I wouldn't go to this location and I wouldn't do mobile pick up.

Had to redo things already done on line, so took longer to rent than it should have. Fuel tank was not completely full, so it is difficult to match the level on return. My guess is that is your way to make more profit as renters will tend to overfill to make sure it matches. Upon return, was not sure what to do. A worker rudely told me to just leave since the transaction was online. I had more mileage than I put down originally so thought I needed to talk with someone. It would be nice to not be treated as if I were ignorant.

Ray was God Sent. I’ve been to this U-Haul location a few times and Ray has always been Professional, kind, and expeditious. I almost gave away and vintage bicycle due to a move and lack of space when Ray asked, do you need a rental unit? We recently had a bunch come available. Tires for Alaskan winters need to be better. I was in danger several times in just hours because I could not get traction at intersections or hills. The moving van slid sideways at one point going down a hill. So I suggest studded tires for winter. Also I was charged for SafeMove of $14. I never asked for this to be added. To top it off I had to clean the steering wheel because it felt gross. I went through 4 wipes. They were all brown when I was done.

Be clear as to the person responsible for driving the equipment and no additional drivers allowed. This wasn't laid out for the copiolot and she ended up stealing ng the van without the driver(me), consent.

The young man working the front desk lacks in customer service skills. I feel that he is not knowledgeable about the storage options and he did not provide clarity about location of the unit we rented and did not mention that uhaul had their own locks on the unit. The person that answered the phone when we realized we could not access the unit due to being locked, was very helpful and had someone come unlock the unit for us very quickly. Overall the Uhaul experience was great, with the exception of the young man at the desk, he may need more training on how to interact with customers. Thank you!

If you want a square to put your belongings in, Uhaul has expensive rooms for that. If you want to wait forever in line, Uhaul knows how to waste your time. If you wanted to be offended, Uhaul hires the best customer service people for that. I’ll tell you, if I am providing you a good amount of money for a weak service, and your employees give me any attitude (hateful female I have encountered twice), or do not make me feel valued as a customer; I will create accounts around the web and make this review noticed. You want to waste my time, charge my card and hold my money, and then when I call to speak with the General Manager, Steve Womack doesn’t answer. What a disgrace to the Uhaul community. It is difficult to mess up a franchise, where all you have to do is support the business model and keep happy customers.

Two front desk guys were terrible. They still charged me $24 for gas even after I filled it up 4 gallons for 18 miles I used. I asked for explanation and told them that's not right. Then they called the police on me. They refused to listen what I had to say. I showed them my gas receipt. No ethics and obviously not professional.

The uHaul we rented had completely bald tires. They worked so poorly that we almost got stuck in the (unplowed) parking lot, and got stuck twice during the day because the tires were so bad. I have lived in Alaska for 25 years and have never experienced such bad tires, or a vehicle that is so poorly prepared for the weather. I will not rent from UHaul again in the winter ever again. At the very least, you need to disclose that your vehicles do not have 4WD nor do they have adequate winter tires.

Be more careful about level of gas when checking out. The needle wasn't quite on the fill mark. I was told the vehicle's tank was full, but I drove the van only 12 miles and had to buy 2 gallons of gas for the needle to go to the fill mark.

Rented truck. Not contactless, still had to pick up key inside. Also, Didn't have the initial truck offered by online, so had to stand in the snow trying to figure out where it was. Then, realized the move would take more than the 6 hours we initially signed up for. Got it changed inside, no problem. Found out the next day that I needed one more 24 hour rental period. Uhaul.com site down. Waited over two hours on hold, finally just went over to the location. Had me write down my name and phone number on paper to get a call back when they could process my extension. A Uhaul representative never called. Looked at the bill today, was charged for 3 rental periods in 48 hours (with insurance associated). Now have been on hold 15 minutes, as I write this. Wondering if I should sit here on hold for another couple hours (never got through last time) or just drive down there for the third day in a row. VERY UNHAPPY.

I received the truck with the tank half full. I used only 1/4th of a tank, as you can see from the miles I used. I filled it anyway which was $70.00. I should of only had to pay $24.00. My experience with Uhaul storage was perfect until the day I moved out. I had reserved a 10' truck to move out my belongings on the last day of my billing cycle. The reservation was for a return trip with a base cost of $19.99. When I arrived to pick up the truck, I was told by the Asst. Mgr there were no 10' trucks to rent, that Uhaul had overbooked. I was then told there was a 10' truck but it was only for one ways and it would be $118 and I'd have to drop it off at another Uhaul location. I was not going to pay $100 more for a truck especially b/c this was not my fault. Nor did I have the time to drop the truck off on the other side of town. I instead started unloading my storage with my car but because the location closes at 7 I had to return the next day to finish. The Asst Mngr said I wouldn't be charged for the next month since I was now on day 1 of the next billing cycle, but I was charged and had to speak with a Uhaul rep (Raymond - who was excellent!) about reversing the charges. I had to take off the 1/2 half of this day from work in order to empty the storage unit as well. Lastly, when I asked about the $50 guarantee that's posted on your wall behind the counter, I was told my reservation didn't qualify because of the overbooking. This makes no sense. I made a reservation - the reservation was not fulfilled. It caused me all sorts of trouble, but the guarantee isn't valid because you overbooked? I have worked as a Logisitics Manager the past decade and have both used Uhaul for personal moves as well as for work related moves. I'll be hesitant to put myself in the same position with the company going forward and will be looking at other options.

I have filled out the on-line fast checkout feature including info about my vehicle and including scans of my drivers license, but the Anchorage office never seems to be able to pull that up. Waiting in long lines is my primary frustration.

I did not rent any equipment in the truck and didn't get any equipment in the truck then was told i used it and stole it and got charged $90 for it and a $5 use fee. I got the truck with 1/4 tank of gas drove the truck 11miles total filled the tank back up to 1/4 tank then returned the truck and got a $30 fill up fee and a 10 gallon fill up charge for $32. I have now been charged $157 more then i should have bee charged. I will be in and pay the $68.38 that i should have payed for this rental not the $225.38 because the company messed up. For the next customer you can look at the truck before you rent it and look at the truck when it comes back so that you don't screw over paying customers who own business and would use and recommend your business to others but instead you would rather overcharge and start a relationship on distrust.

Verify billing. I was charged alot more than what I was told. I returned the truck earlier than scheduled and fueled the truck past the full line when it was at the full line when I picked up the truck. My original bill amount should have been under $70 but instead I was charged over $100. I sent an email and haven't heard anything back yet. This would be the only frustrating part of my experience. Everything was really good and the staff is great! Thank you.

Cab and cargo area smelled strongly of cigarettes. Really reeked. Counter staff were unfamiliar with checking out vehicles and other staff that were supposed to bring vehicles to the front for use could not be located to bring up vehicles. It looked like there were several new staff members and I can only hope that the service will improve as I rent vehicles multiple times a year.

Watch closely for fraudulent charges on your bill. I turned in my vehicle on schedule, 1 hour and 36 minutes before closing, right under a lit-up neon "open" sign. The check-in employee said all was fine and he would email the updated receipt (I was due a credit because of lower than expected mileage). When the receipt arrived, he had added a $20.00 "after hours service fee."

This was one of the worst experiences ever! I made my reservation online, picking the pickup and drop off location and it then gave me a total of $81.00. The next day when I went to pick up the trailer, they charged us $300 and told us our drop of location doesn't exist anymore and we would have to go to the next town to drop it off. That town is almost 200 miles out of our way mind you. When we tried to return the trailer and figure out a different way to get our new appliances home they said no, and told us its the other locations trailer now you have to bring it there, we won't take it back. Worst costumer service ever, not helpful at all. The web site needs to be updated. I will never be using uhaul again. Horrible. Absolutely horrible. Shame on you uhaul.

My only complaint is that I moved out 4 days into the next month and they still charged me for the whole month. So now they can rent it out again and have double rent paid. Unethical practice

The outside door 1008 would never close we properly. The ledge going outside was so damaged that every load on a cart in or out dumped my stuff. It was incredibly frustrating.
