I placed my order online and paid for the rental. I completed an express check-in online to save time at the rental location because I was on a strict timetable. After arriving at the rental center, I entered the building and found myself number 6 in line. There were only two U-Haul employees working the counter. One was dealing with customers on the phone while the other handled people who were in line. After waiting 15 minutes, the one clerk walked outside with a customer. I asked him if I had to wait in this slow moving line even though I paid for my rental online and completed the express checkout. He told me that I still had to wait in line and I asked what was so express about the express procedure if I had to wait a long time in a line that wasn’t moving. He then said that the express is not really an express service. After waiting another 10 minutes in line, I then became 4th in line and there were 8 customers behind me and the line was to the entrance door. Another 15 minutes in line and I finally made it to the counter. The clerk told me that my rental time was from 9:30am to 3:30pm. I told him that it was after 10:00am and I spent over 30 minutes waiting in a line and I’m not paying for a start time of 9:30 when it was after 10. He then adjusted my pick up time after I complained about it. He then asked for my credit card and I informed him that I already paid online and I was told that my credit card was accepted. He told me that the online system was messed up and even though I entered a payment source, he needed it again. 15 minutes later and I was ready to leave the center with my rental. This was the worst rental experience I’ve ever had. My time is valuable and I felt that there should’ve been more clerks working than two on a Saturday morning. Because of this hurry up and wait, my schedule was severely impacted and I was not happy by the time I left the center.

The staff were great, and all the machinery worked perfectly fine. Definitely got me from point A to B without issue. My sole issue was, on a weekend, only one salesperson was working behind the counter, and it seems that you should have more people working on a weekend. My wait time for an appointment I had at 9 am. stretched until nearly 10, meaning I lost an hour I could've used on my 600+ mile trip. Nothing else really bothered me with U-Haul, though. Very satisfied otherwise, though.

Only issue was i stupidly left my Sunpass in the Cargo Van after dropping the van off after hours and putting the key in the lockbox. I emailed Uhaul about the issue and received an email stating the issue was noted on my account. The next morning i called Uhaul general number before hours (i had commitments at church from 8am to 1:30p that day) and was told i could come in to pick up the Sunpass. I arrived around 2pm after other commitments of mine were completed and saw the cargo van, with a new customer ready to drive off the lot with my Sunpass still attached. I stopped the customer, apologized and retrieved the Sunpass from the Van. I went inside and the rep stated they had no idea a Sunpass was left in the van. My lessons learned are: 1. double check the rental before locking myself out of the vehicle. 2. Call the actual site to advise them of the situation. Request: That the reps check for any flags/service reports on the account before re-renting a vehicle. Otherwise, i enjoyed the service, rental and staff.

My wife had called for a reservation a few days ahead, but when we got there, no reservation. Your team was very courteous and went out of their way to get us take care of, but could have gone bad if a truck had not been available as we drove an hour and 15 minutes to pickup from said location. All good though.

Recent experience: U-Haul Contract 90285314 I needed a larger vehicle to transport a purchase. I kept it for a few hours though I could have returned it after two hours. The rental staff were excellent! The return after hours experience was terrible. When I dropped off the vehicle at the same location and returned the keys, I was directed to submit a “verification code” which had been sent to my home computer. When making the online reservation, I inquired as to whether I could update my email address but was told he could not do that update. I was concerned that I had not completed the return process, so I attempted to do this online and received two verification codes but never got to complete the transaction. I called UHaul and was on hold for 10-15 minutes and was told that the staff at that service number 800-468-4285 could not assist me but would switch me to another department for ‘shared travel’ or something. After a 15-20 minute ‘on hold’ an agent got on the phone, listened to my story, and then ‘chuckled’ that if I returned the vehicle to the same location, then in the morning they would close out my ticket and send me an updated contract receipt. This was exactly what happened BUT, it would have saved me a fair amount of time and some anxiety if this had been made clear at drop off. I was not directed to take pictures or need a verification code, etc. for an after-hours drop off.

The two girls at the front desk had a whole lot of patience which comes in handy it looks like for that job. They were super friendly as well, and very efficient. I've rented U-Hauls at other locations and it does not compare I'm going to come back to this location whenever I need a truck.

I placed an order with issue at another location for that same day and they didn't have any tricks, and said they didn't carry the size truck we ordered, not did they have an order listed. I received an email notification that my order was confirmed and the order number I gave was 21918760. Because of this we had to rush to find a location and drive extra to pick up the truck.

I feel that U-Haul is missing an opportunity to upgrade its service by not making route recommendations or tailoring it’s trucks for the trip. For example, I moved 2,500 miles away and my truck was beat up and had 154,000 miles on it when I got it.....there were several occasions when I thought the truck would break down.

I have a very sweet but energetic 4yr old and as busy as he was playing around the store (which I know he shouldn’t have), the representative did not get upset. Instead, he was beyond patient. I mean he began talking and laughing with my little man to help calm him down. Mr Jacob had such a beautiful heart, I wish there were more understanding people like him in the world.

I reserved my truck in advance as a 1 way rental. The day before my move I received a text from uhaul confirming my reservation. Thank goodness I clicked on the link because uhaul changed my pick up location to another county. When I called the location it was switched to I was told “these things happen sometimes.” I asked that they have the truck brought to the location documented in my initial reservation and the man stated he “wasn’t doing all that.” It wasn’t until I spoke with the manager and the corporate office that they agreed to bring the truck to the location I reserved for pick up. This all took place when I was at work, taking time away from my work day. Horrible customer service. Please note that the staff at the Altamonte location were wonderful during pick up. Very friendly and professional.

I cannot imagine better service. We had hoped to move directly from one house to another, but the house we wanted to move into, all of a sudden, was not going to be ready for a week. Everyone at the center were truly awesome. They allowed us to keep our trucks in the yard, and move them into a place right in front where there would always be constant videos watching over our two trucks. We were originally going to leave our trucks at the Longwood location, but they were unable to give us a space to park the trucks because it was a much smaller location. But the manager there, Sheila, called around and found us a place. I don’t think Moving is ever easy, but everyone involved, from the main office of Uhaul to every contact we went to, we’re really great.

We waited over 45 minutes to check out. The person helping us was very unprofessional and played and joked the entire time he helped us. He talked about music, sang along loudly, became annoyed at his computer and threatened to punch it instead of explaining what was wrong to us. At one point his phone rang with an extremely loud ring tone and he stared at it for a few seconds and decided to take the call while we waited. He then proceeded to tell us the story of why he decided to take the call, (something about his uncle) at which point my husband had had enough and told him he didn’t care and that he wanted to just finish the transaction and leave. There were 5 other people in line behind us who also looked very annoyed. Instead of apologizing, the man gave us our receipt and told us to get out of his store. My husband asked who his manager was and he said it was the guy next to him who had been joking and talking with him the whole time. Obviously everyone who is renting a U-Haul has something to do that day. Being held up for 45 minutes because of lack of professionalism is not ok. It’s great to have fun and enjoy your job, but customers should come first. All of the employees outside the store were working hard. It’s sad one person’s actions ruined the establishments reputation for us. We won’t be back there.

When I arrived to pick up the equipment I had reserved, there were several customers waiting and only one employee whose name I believe was Laura was working the front. Because this location was grossly understaffed their volume of business I was made over 30 minutes late to pick up the item I needed the truck for! This caused the person meeting me to be 30 minutes late for a business meeting! The truck drove like a log wagon and got terrible gas mileage! When I returned the truck, I mentioned something about the poor gas mileage and the poor staffing situation this morning to the assistant manager. He was very rude, smart mouthed, disrespectful and dismissive! I will never use this location again and will tell everyone in the community I know to go elsewhere! Totally terrible, unacceptable experience! And it was made that way by the general manager and the employees at this location so!ely!

Service was bad at best. Been here in the passed and the service was great. The service went down hill since from start to finish. I was supposed to get mileage waived because we could not get the lock opened due to the lock being old. I believe they still charged me for being over the mileage. I get it if you are busy. Itwas at the end of the day nobody there and was not acknowleded.

I have an issue where I was charged 100 dollars because based on the truck's mileage when I returned it I drove it for more than 100 miles, but there is no way that I could drive it for more than 50 miles in the worst scenario. I made 5 rounds from Altamonte Springs to Longwood where the places were 3 miles away from each other. The math is clear and even to get the worst scenario ( 50 miles ) and giving around 20 miles of flexibility. If there were a GPS on the truck it can be verified easily. My fault was not checking the mileage at the time that I picked up the truck against what the contract was specifying. Lesson learned.

I made the stupid mistake of leaving my SunPass for tolls in the window. I have been calling since I left afternoon and now morning and finally gave up. The rear gate chain was broken so it took some creativity to fit an 8 foot piece of plywood in a 7 foot trailer. Usually gate opens flat, but on that trailer it just falls to the ground.

I am being charged 383.00 for some b.s. damages that I didn't cause. There was nothing wrong with the van. The only thing it needed was some gas. I did not cause any damages to the van. Also, I found out you can't just drop it off when you are done, like it use to be in my past rentals. It's a long process that they need to make the customer aware of at the time they pick up their rental. The only way to know is if you search around on your online account if you even have one.. But again I did not cause any damages nor did I know about the drop off process.

I had originally reserved and paid for a truck at Winter Park location. I had email and phone confirmation. Upon arrival they told me the order had been cancelled, and blamed it on uhaul.com. After 2.5 hours, and two more charges to my bank account, still no truck. Ridiculous poor customer service, snarky and surly attitude. I was in a bind add HAD to make the move that day. Finally the Winter Park supervisor found a truck at the Altamonte location. It was like night and day. Professional, efficient and polite! Surreal. Still trying to get credit back for one of the faulty charges.

When i got there the size truck i requested was not there so i had to pay someone to drive it as it was to big i felt for me to drive. I had the truck for 2hrs which is what t said ,brought it back and was charges for 107 miles when i only went 7.now i have to wait for three day to get my money back and hope you people dont make me bounce a check. Not very happy about this.

Worst move of my life! Box did not arrive as scheduled. Delivered to a location different than noted on agreement. No one could find it for 2 days. Then not delivered for 2 more days. ZERO stars!
