I requested a 4x8 without the pole inside I was giving unit 3401 on the third floor I had help with me and I was on a time schedule working with them only to find out we arrived at the unit it had a pole on the inside so I was forced because of time and help to try to make my things fit and there were other items I couldn't put in I contacted the customer service I even went into the unit the next day to talk to someone and they said they couldn't handle it they take notes and somebody will get back with me I think I deserve a decrease in my bill because I was forced to take a unit that I specifically said that I did not need

I rented a cargo van that smelled like someone had smoked marijuana in the Van both in the cabin and cargo area. I had to return the rental early because the smell was making me feel ill. This is not acceptable at all. Very disappointed.

The truck assigned was something that looks like it was ready to be sold. Ran very rough. Bad vibrations when driven. Engine heat comes into the cab and the ac doesn't work making it uncomfortable. Have used service in the past and equipment usually is decent, not this time. Would have driven elsewhere to get better truck but was short on time.

I didn't like having to verify the picture of condition. My phone screen is not large enough to fully see any existing damage/dents/scratches/stickers. Also gives me impression that the reps are too busy to spend the 3 minutes with customers. I feel this should be a physical walk through process with a representative. No way they can be that busy to do it.

Make sure there is brake fluid in trailer and explain to customer that the trailer is equipped with brake fluid. Just to keep an eye on it. Also when customer returns equipment, the employee should be putting the trailer in the location that they want it, not have customer after long day be backing it in an area.

I parked the truck in the main parking lot near the customer service entrance where I proceeded to enter into. Took a long time to be greeted despite there being two representatives behind the counter. Me and another gentleman who was also dropping off a truck, waited patiently for more than 5 minutes before being assisted, only to then be told that we had to bring the tucks around back and another colleague there would assist us. I brought the truck around back, parked again nearby to a service tent as told, only to find no one there. After waiting an additional 5 minutes, I went back into the customer service center through a back entrance to ask where these “colleagues” were. Waited more than 15 minutes for this person to arrive to assist me, only to be asked to move the truck again. Very poor customer service overall and I would not recommend dropping off at this location at all. I will certainly not be doing so in the future. I have to note that the Uhaul employee who did finally greet me for the truck inspection was very kind.

suggestion. I was not advised that I would get a text to verify the condition of the truck. My phone was already pre-set on "do not disturb" mode, so it did not notify me, but then, the link expired once I realized. That's my only suggestion that the customer be made aware of the link before leaving. I did do a walk-around/vehicle inspection, (I'm a cdl driver) But it was not verified through the link in the text.

Make sure the miles are correct before you leave the location. After 2nd day I was looking and noticed miles were 300 off. Also after returning I got a call following day they lost keys so I took the entire day off work and got a call about miles and also they needed keys which than found.

I am very displeased with uhaul as I got the storage unit and a truck. I was told that the lock would be removed off the unit so I could load my things and much to my suprise when I got to the storage unit after uhaul closed but storage was still open my unit still had a store lock on it which caused me to have to drive back to we're I picked up my stuff which added more miles and took more gas. I really hope this is not how uhaul does business

Staff member who helped us with our reservation was disengaged and very confusing and he was very poor at communicating. The 7th was extremely hot/humid and not suitable for storing boxes. The bill does not appear on the online account until the day it is due, resulting in an unnecessary late charge. The facility was full of spiders and leftover spider traps.

Only an "average" rating due to the fact that services provided are just... "space". Staff is excellent, but in reality, you have very little contact outside of setting up and closing accounts if you have a storage unit. They are very helpful otherwise!!! The building is very clean and accessible. It's only my opinion that when rental rates increase, it should only be applied to new leases. Anyone that has had a unit for a significant time should not be penalized for the difference. Gracias

My security access code NEVER works. It welcomes me when I enter the building but does not allow me access to the elevator. I have had to ask the counter help for assistance numerous times in the last 39 days. It's annoying and inconvenient. On 10/7/2020 I got stuck on the elevator for more than 10 minutes. The elevator call for help button was not operational - which is dangerous, and illegal. I called and called and called and nobody ever picked up the phone. I was crying by the time someone came to open the door to access their own storage unit. Staff said the phone system wasn't working. Scary.

There was no ceiling, a 6" pipe coming about 3 feet out of the floor, open, in my unit, another pipe going floor to ceiling in the unit, holes in the wall, a 5" hole going to the hallway, and full spider traps all along the floor of my unit. It was disgusting.

Although I have used your service three (3) times, there are a few things that I would like to express. I tried to reach someone at the desk, and no one picked up the phone so I pushed the help box button on the floor, and no one answered that either. Supposed I wasn't there with anyone and I was getting attached. No one would have helped me in time. Also, it is too hot and there is no air circulating in the building. I thought I was going to pass out with no air. Lastly, the doors on the unit are so thin and limp that I really didn't feel that the lock was really securing it. Anyone could come in and kick a hole in the door and take whatever they wanted and no one would ever have known it.

Staff is great, facility was well maintained and secure. When I got a new debit card and input for payement, I assumed it would go on auto pay. It didn't, and I was charged a late fee. Certainly I could've and should've paid more attention, but you made a pretty good amount of money off me for a year seemingly without much overhead. Seemed a little gratuitous. That said, would come back. Everyone I interacted with there was helpful and cool and deserves a raise.

I arrived at my storage unit At the Albany location on broadway at 7pm, just as the office was closing. I went up to my locker to move my items into the unit, however there was a pad lock on the unit with a green tag that said "customer ready". I tried to contact the general manager who was Supposed to be available for after hours assistance, however he did not answer his phone, his voicemail box was full and he did not respond to email or text message. I was finally able to contact the security company who monitors the building, the gentleman put me through to customer service where I waited on hold for at least 30 mins. I finally spoke to Coco at customer service who suggested I "remove the green tag" and continue to move my items in. Her advice was not helpful as there was a pad lock on my unit that required a key to unlock it. I explained this again and she put me on hold for a second time to see if she could talk to the general manager. She could not reach Shannon, but assured me a local employee was on their way. I waited for two and a half hours (30 mins until access to the building closed) and no one showed up to unlock the locker. I contacted customer service a second time and spoke to a man who sent me a 47second YouTube video tutorial on how to do a mobile check in with a digital lock. This was not helpful. Since not being able to move onto my storage unit on the day I planned, I was required to bring the uhaul truck I rented back home, increasing mileage on the vehicle and needed to wait until office hours opened before I could move in. I am extremely frustrated about the whole experience using uhaul. It was a major Inconvenience for me to not be able to move in when I was supposed to. I would like to be refunded my total rental charge for the uhaul truck and 4 months rent free for the storage unit.

I rented a storage unit two days ago - squarely during the Covid-19 crisis and it did not appear that employees or the store were following NY state recommendations. There was no information about increased disinfecting protocols (and it looked like there were none in place - floor was dirty, there was a latex glove on the floor of the elevator (yuk)), employees seemed unaware of the need to use hand sanitizer before and after interacting with customers, and there were no signs letting people know they need to keep 6 feet distance. Customers stood on line as usual and the air system near the counter blew hvac air in our faces. People stood close in the elevators that rode to storage units. Covid-19 is spread by air and surfaces. The Broadway Albany Uhaul needs to up its game to keep its staff and customers safe. It seems well behind the curve compared with the communications from and protocols put into action by other large companies. Please take this virus seriously and protect your employees, your customers - your business! What steps will you take to make employees and customers safe? I would like to hear about it as currently I do not think the storage building I've rented from feels like a safe place.

The storage area is sooo hot! Get a fan or air conditioner. Also, why don't they clip locks?! I had to pay over 100 USD to get my lock clipped by an outside locksmith. Why don't you offer that?

My experience with U-Haul has been very good. I have referred U-Haul to many family and friends.

I called several times at least 6 to be transferred and put on hold for about 12 to 15 minutes each time to only have my call disconnected. Each time called back no one could make any pick up.
