Ensure vehicles are available when promised. I registered early for a 10am pick up only to find out no vehicles were available. Fortunately my plans were flexible and I wanted until 4 pm for a vehicle. Really not acceptable.

This experience was smooth and easy. I love that you can check in online so when you get there you just have to pick up your keys and contract and go. The return was easy as well, pull up to the equipment return give the rep your keys and they email you, your receipt. Definitely will use this location again. Oh yeah the vehicle was clean and the equipment was in good shape😁

I went to pick up my trailer and after checking in, I was told to go to the back of the lot and someone would come hook up the trailer to my truck shortly. I waited half an hour for someone to come. I called the office and my phone call was ignored. I then walked back to the office to let them know I'd been waiting 30 m8ns for someone. I was told they would send someone immediately and that they would refund half the cost of my rental. This never happened. Very poor customer service

Staff member who helped us with our reservation was disengaged and very confusing and he was very poor at communicating. The 7th was extremely hot/humid and not suitable for storing boxes. The bill does not appear on the online account until the day it is due, resulting in an unnecessary late charge. The facility was full of spiders and leftover spider traps.

The self check in was not very friendly. It need work. For example it required an alternative phone number and when I provide it they call. Now the contact I provided was a sleep! So I have to contact them prior. That was not explained anywhere

the truck they gave me was sandwiched in between two others so we had to maneuver it out which took forever. The staff was ok and helped me but just seemed tired and like she did not want to be there. She used her personal cell phone to take pictures of my Drivers License. I needed an extension and called but kept getting hung up on after waiting for a long time when I called the main number (after hours), so I spoke to someone using the chat online feature who made me stress to no end about not being able to use the truck past 9a the next day because someone "had reserved it" but when i called the regional scheduling office within 45 seconds of them checking to see if someone else had reserved it they told me I was fine to extend it further, asked me when I needed it by and then STILL gave me extra time. When returning the truck the website kicked me out 5 times and it took me 40 minutes to get it done after hours in the cold and rain. This whole thing wasn't as bad as it could have been, but I was moving my grandma's items after her passing, I would have rather not had extra stress over the moving vehicle.

When I scheduled my rental online the earliest pickup it showed was 11:00 a.m.. I called in the morning to see if the rental was there and if I could pick it up early. My first attempt calling I waited on hold for 10 minutes only to be disconnected my second call I spoke with an operator after waiting 10 minutes well apparently it's in a centralized location and she told me the unit would not be available till 11:00. A little disgusted I drove there at 9:30 just in case and I drove through the lot and found two of the auto transport trailers in the lot. I went inside completed the rental agreement and was out the door by 10:00. Why the representative on the phone could not call the location to find out if the unit was actually available is beyond me and really left me disgusted.

I think I got the oldest truck uhaul has, it was all banged up, missing an arm rest and window crank. I had to WD-40 all door hinges and rear overhead door because they squeaked and were difficult to operate. So if your going to rent a truck from u-haul, don't accept an old rattle trap truck, tell them you want another one. On the positive side, their prices are one of the lowest.

First off the location isn't open 24 hours. Second you couldn't check in to get the vehicle so waited 45 minutes to find out which vehicle was mine. By the way vehicle was unlocked and keys left in visor so any random smuck could walk up and steal it. Then after returning they couldn't even find the vehicle being rented. After all said and done they tried billing me twice when I returned the vehicle with exactly how much fuel it had.

Location had come a long way, it was horrible, now it is just bad. They tried to get cute on the mileage, I pointed it out to the owner, she refunded it, no apology, I only go there because no one else had the equipment I need. If another location has it, yes I will drive a half hour out of my way to not trade here. I signed up for storage at another location, they are cheaper than here, less than 5 miles away, I hate the apathetic attitude on display here.

There was only one person outside to give the truck was very rude. Asked me to check the gas and milage reading to make sure it matched what was in the document. Both readings were off but when I went out looking for him to tell him he was no where to be found. I ended up leaving with the truck as I was getting late and ended up paying extra for the gas and milage I did not use.

I never received a final Bill. Also, when I returned it at 7:20pm I couldn't get the computer to work, Called The 800# which kept dropping making it very stressful to return. We were there for about 40 Min. My wife who was at home in Albany was trying to live chat with someone and in a minute someone responded saying they would get someone to answer and help w my questions and no one ever came on. This part really needs to be fixed. Thank you

There was quite a bit of broken glass in the cargo area of the truck so I had to clean it before loading. Also, the passenger side mirror was cracked and had pieces missing. This made it very difficult and somewhat dangerous when backing up and changing lanes. Otherwise, I was happy with the experience.

I would only recommend this place to a friend if they lived near me. It is the only convenient location for me to go. I thought it was supposed to be a 24/7 truck share location but they apparently do not participate in that. The people who work there are rude and several of them were not wearing masks. Some significant changes need to be made in order to improve the rating of this location

My odometer photo at pickup showed 4409. Im just looking at my paperwork from UHaul and it shows 4391, a difference of 18 miles. Fuel listed at 1/2 but it was less than that. The truck bed contained a 32 gallon tote filled with construction debris and about 50 ft of metal encased wire conduit. Staff rushed out to remove the debris when i informed them that I left in the parking lot. I needed to sweep sandy dirt out of the truck before loading my furniture. I immediately fueled the truck and needed to clean a bug encrusted windshield. This truck was used between the last renter and my pickup. Its a nice gesture to allow your staff to use vehicles between rentals, but the mileage should not be allocated to the customer. Other than that, everything was fine Contract No.98719163

The contactless option to pick up is a sad attempt at modernity by U-Haul. It took far longer than if I had just gone inside and talked to someone. The truck I rented smelled like cigarettes and distinctively of cat urine. Dropping off was at least easy.

The truck I was given was not the one listed on my contract. I didn't notice it, but when I returned the truck to a different location it created confusion. The gas tank was only half full when I got it, and I submitted pictures of the gas gauge when I picked it up. I returned the truck with a full tank because I didn't want to be charged, so I lost money because of it. Everyone was very nice, it was just inconvenient.

Only an “average” rating due to the fact that services provided are just... “space”. Staff is excellent, but in reality, you have very little contact outside of setting up and closing accounts if you have a storage unit. They are very helpful otherwise!!! The building is very clean and accessible. It’s only my opinion that when rental rates increase, it should only be applied to new leases. Anyone that has had a unit for a significant time should not be penalized for the difference. Thanks

There were only 2 customer service people when I went in at 8am with my reservation. Which was fine but neither of them seem to enthused. Just pointed to where the truck was in this huge lot I was walking around clueless. Then I had to take the long walk back because there were dents on the truck. Someone should've came outside with me to go over it. And I was never told on how to operate the truck. Also the customer service lady just said there's a box out there to put the key in. It would have been nice for her to tell me where the box was. The cabin of the truck was filthy, I couldn't even see out of the windshield, it was so dirty on the inside. You would think with all this covid-19 going on the truck would be clean! The truck sounded like a jet engine. The rpm's always stayed at 3. Engine constantly revving. I've rented lots of Uhaul's and this is by far the worst experience I've ever had and Unfortunately I probably won't use them again.

My security access code NEVER works. It welcomes me when I enter the building but does not allow me access to the elevator. I have had to ask the counter help for assistance numerous times in the last 39 days. It’s annoying and inconvenient. On 10/7/2020 I got stuck on the elevator for more than 10 minutes. The elevator call for help button was not operational - which is dangerous, and illegal. I called and called and called and nobody ever picked up the phone. I was crying by the time someone came to open the door to access their own storage unit. Staff said the phone system wasn’t working. Scary.

The Uhaul had a broken fan so I had to air movement in the truck. The visor was broken and the uhaul employee taped it up with electrical tape.... after two minutes it fell down and he ripped it off....great comedy show

There was no ceiling, a 6" pipe coming about 3 feet out of the floor, open, in my unit, another pipe going floor to ceiling in the unit, holes in the wall, a 5" hole going to the hallway, and full spider traps all along the floor of my unit. It was disgusting.

Although I have used your service three (3) times, there are a few things that I would like to express. I tried to reach someone at the desk, and no one picked up the phone so I pushed the help box button on the floor, and no one answered that either. Supposed I wasn't there with anyone and I was getting attached. No one would have helped me in time. Also, it is too hot and there is no air circulating in the building. I thought I was going to pass out with no air. Lastly, the doors on the unit are so thin and limp that I really didn't feel that the lock was really securing it. Anyone could come in and kick a hole in the door and take whatever they wanted and no one would ever have known it.

Staff is great, facility was well maintained and secure. When I got a new debit card and input for payement, I assumed it would go on auto pay. It didn’t, and I was charged a late fee. Certainly I could’ve and should’ve paid more attention, but you made a pretty good amount of money off me for a year seemingly without much overhead. Seemed a little gratuitous. I arrived at my storage unit At the Albany location on broadway at 7pm, just as the office was closing. I went up to my locker to move my items into the unit, however there was a pad lock on the unit with a green tag that said “customer ready”. I tried to contact the general manager who was Supposed to be available for after hours assistance, however he did not answer his phone, his voicemail box was full and he did not respond to email or text message. I was finally able to contact the security company who monitors the building, the gentleman put me through to customer service where I waited on hold for at least 30 mins. I finally spoke to Coco at customer service who suggested I “remove the green tag” and continue to move my items in. Her advice was not helpful as there was a pad lock on my unit that required a key to unlock it. I explained this again and she put me on hold for a second time to see if she could talk to the general manager. She could not reach Shannon, but assured me a local employee was on their way. I waited for two and a half hours (30 mins until access to the building closed) and no one showed up to unlock the locker. I contacted customer service a second time and spoke to a man who sent me a 47second YouTube video tutorial on how to do a mobile check in with a digital lock. This was not helpful. Since not being able to move onto my storage unit on the day I planned, I was required to bring the uhaul truck I rented back home, increasing mileage on the vehicle and needed to wait until office hours opened before I could move in. I am extremely frustrated about the whole experience using uhaul. It was a major Inconvenience for me to not be able to move in when I was supposed to. I would like to be refunded my total rental charge for the uhaul truck and 4 months rent free for the storage unit.

l am a very busy man, l get 1 day off a month!!! The elevator was down. There wasn't a sign & the front desk didn't seem to care? A very clean and security facility, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I was a storage customer for 18 years and never had a problem with my unit. I'd recommend this facility to anyone with a short-term or long-term storage need.

I rented a storage unit two days ago - squarely during the Covid-19 crisis and it did not appear that employees or the store were following NY state recommendations. There was no information about increased disinfecting protocols (and it looked like there were none in place - floor was dirty, there was a latex glove on the floor of the elevator (yuk)), employees seemed unaware of the need to use hand sanitizer before and after interacting with customers, and there were no signs letting people know they need to keep 6 feet distance. Customers stood on line as usual and the air system near the counter blew hvac air in our faces. People stood close in the elevators that rode to storage units. Covid-19 is spread by air and surfaces. The Broadway Albany Uhaul needs to up its game to keep its staff and customers safe. It seems well behind the curve compared with the communications from and protocols put into action by other large companies. Please take this virus seriously and protect your employees, your customers - your business! What steps will you take to make employees and customers safe? I would like to hear about it as currently I do not think the storage building I've rented from feels like a safe place.
