Tierra Goodman gave poor customer service. She yelled at me and gave me attitude. I was complaining that I had to put $26 of gas in the truck in that I only went 23 miles. The desk agent (also who ultimately hooked up my trailer as well) was extremely personable and helpful. She got me taken care of and out the door fast and with a smile. The only reason I ended up with 4 stars is due to the fact that I reserved a 4x8 and received a 5x8. The 5x8 was a miserable tow, that was noisy and had a shimmy at highway speeds. The GM, Chris, and all his staff were phenomenal! The entire process from checking in online, picking up my trailer early in the morning and returning it mid-afternoon was flawless. In the morning when picking the trailer up Chris and I did a complete pre-operational inspection and he assisted by hooking the trailer up to my truck. The same results in the afternoon. He conducted a thorough post-operational inspection and unhooked the trailer. I would most definitely recommend this U-haul dealership to anyone! Thank you Chris and all your staff!!Kevin H.

My truck was given to me with out a working AC. I drove through 95 degree temperatures to reach my destination in Florida. Windshield wipers were shot, they needed to be replaced. I had to drive through heavy rain, it was unsafe for me to drive with bad wipers and no defrost! It would have been nice to have defrost and good wipers. Are these things not checked before the trucks are sent out? They knew I was headed to Florida. Also, the inside of the truck had not been cleaned.TIMOTHY M.
The manager was rude and put charges to my account that should not have been placed. When I asked theee times to speak with someone over him he lied and said nobody always available when the district manager was onsite . I had to call corporate offices to even get my point across because the manager was intent on charging me extra without seeing proof of my side of things . I've informed several community organizations about this because it's an absurd idea of customer service . My parents were also spoken to poorly by this rude man. The treatment I received was shameful at best. I've alerted the local NAACP, better business bureau and council person in the area. I will fight these charges and will take this further if need be! My original location was a train wreck! It took 2 hours of my day trying to get a uhaul truck after I had reserved one days b4 the actually pick up date. Just frustrating!JONETTE C.
I made my reservation a month in advance so I could pickup at the location a mile from my house. The day before I get an email saying I had to pickup 25 mins away. When I got to the location, the website wasn't working, so I couldn't use the mobile login. I waited in line for 20 mins, and everyone was so backed that peoples trucks were blocking others in. I paid for a dolly that wasn't included in the truck, and I called multiple times to get it rectified and nobody would call back. The customer service line said they would just give me a refund for the dolly since they couldn't get ahold of my pickup location, but I still haven't received a refund. I rented my truck at 9am, returned it at the correct location at 4:30pm, where I handed the keys directly to the general manager. I got a phone call and text the next morning alerting me that my return was late and I would be charged accordingly. I called the drop off location and they insisted they didn't process it and they will work on it. The charges are still pending and I still have no idea if I'm being changed late fees or if I was refunded for the dolly. Very disappointednicole B.

I was charged DOUBLE on my credit card for returning the truck 1.5 hrs past return time. I tried to contact UHaul directly, after staying on hold for over 20 minutes the girl advised me she would not be able to extend, gave me another number to call - again on hold for 22 minutes someone answered and hung up on me. Gave me used unclean blanket protectors. Uhaul said the fuel gauge was on 3/4 on their paperwork, I took a picture BEFORE I left and sent to them that it WAS NOT. Truck had so much damage it was ridiculous. Promised a refund for the app not working when turning truck in, it's been almost a month! yet they received my picture of mileage and fuel, then charged me a check in fee!!! Hire new employees. This location was being staffed by two men who would rather have talked with another man in the store rather than offer any kind of help. My truck was blocked in by another truck that I needed them to move, and they treated it as if it was the most labor intensive thing they had ever been asked to do. Well I scheduled the pick up and requested a dolly. I didn't get one, but I did get the $14 fee for it. I also was running late from getting off work and called to let them know that I was coming to pick up the keys, but that I would be back to get the truck after hours. When I got there to pick up the keys, the lady said that a link was sent to my phone, follow the link and complete the truck inspection before it leaves the lot. So when I came back to get the truck, about an hour later, the link was expired so I couldn't do it. Then when I went to drop the truck off on Sunday I read the sign hanging on the building about after hours drop off. No where on that sign did it say that I would be charged a $20 fee for dropping off after hours and not checking the truck back in myself. I figured that out afterwards and by that point it was too late. Probably the worst experience I have had in awhile.COURTNEY F.

The pick up truck I rented was in very poor mechanical condition and should have not been allowed out on the road The horn didn't work as well as the cruise control and radio. There were SRS codes , traction control and steering assist malfunction warning lights on the driver's information cluster. The side view mirror looked like it it was broken into pieces and super glued back together like a bad puzzle distorting the view. When I conveyed the problems to the store manager she got quite rude and acknowledged she was aware of the ongoing problems this unit had " but, lt it out anyway because at least it ran". Her assistant had no clue of even knowing how to print out a receipt for me after the manager despised she spoken enough and left me standing there with no receipt, to go serve another customer so I had to wait on little miss statues to get back from serving the other customer who had came in after me to get my receipt so I could leave and hopefully never come back.KENNETH A.

I have rented multiple U-Haul transport trailers with no issues. Usually they operate and pull fine. This trailer pulled hard like a sled with square wheels. That may be an exaggeration, but it caused a vibration in my truck from 35-50mph both empty and with a load. I also noted the brakes on the trailer did not feel as thought they were working. The contactless/mobile pick up process was not easy to follow. I still had to go inside the building to get help. Poor signage. The app made it seem like I completed the process even though I got a call from the office. Overall, the app made the process too difficult. First of all we reserved the vehicle online for 24 hours and when we got there we were told that they dont do that on the weekend and if we wanted it for that long we would be charged extra. Second of all the staff was extremely rude and completely unhelpful. Our tire ended up popping and we spent the majority of our time waiting on roadside service. Was pleased when we booked with the girls help. We didn't get the dolly like requested and the guy that we dealt with on the third day of rental gave a bit of attitude over it. He finally gave us credit for it. When we returned the pick up, the clerk that checked us in (Billy) I think was a jerk and the girl that was there wasn't any help. I asked for the total for the three days. He stated that I would have to call coorperate. I still am not sure what we were charged for all three days We rented a box truck for two days and a pick up for a day. When I asked about the discount that it states if you use your services for more than a day you get. The kid snipped at me we don't do no discounts. Really disappointed in the endHOLLY S.

Vehicle was first rate...no complaints. However, THOROUGHLY DISSATISFIED with both pickup and drop off service. Pickup: 1. Vehicle a parking lot walk away 2. Windshield heavily frosted...nothing to scrape away ice for safe visibility 3. No orientation by attendant as to how to use key fob. Assumption that customer would figure it out. Drop off: 1. I was 4th vehicle in a line of vehicles that all sat in line for 30 minutes(!) without any movement as two employees attended to customers inside. After leaving line to go inside, endured another 15 minute wait to finally complete drop off. All of this after having utilized U-Haul's app for â€œconvenientâ€ pickup and drop off.Ramizi S.

"Hello everyone, just want to clarify I've been a customer for more than 40 years, with U'Haul, and they are a great business/staff, both Commercial and Individual/Personal Customer Services, etc. and they have been both to me." This is a high recommendation to add during the winter months only, Long-Handled Ice/Snow scrapers as Standard Safety Equipment, for iced window; it took more than 15 minutes to defrost, in addition to burning unnecessary gas cost. When mentioned to staff they laughed, considering theft would prevent it; however, brushes should become mandated/standard safety equipment (like car rental companies provide) - no cost. Assign a replacement value/cost, such as hotel mini bars, if used/detached, the way dolly's are, and returned no charge, if not charge. The height of those windows are a problem too even if I had a brush, thus the need for long-handled brushes. I hope other customers reviewing would also consider this need and/or are not unprepared as I was and with no option to get a brush; and wasting idle time.PAMELA W.

I was not told that if I dropped uhaul ofd at a different location that I'd have to pay almost $100 to do so. I scheduled to drop uhaul off at East Akron instead of V Odom and that the extra money would be refunded back to me. We showed up about thirty minutes ahead of our scheduled pickup time to get some questions answered. The attendant at the desk was knowledgeable and personable and made the entire process very easy and enjoyable. The truck was perfect for our needs and well maintained. My brother, who was the primary user of the vehicle, did note an odd experience when dropping off the vehicle in which the attendant instructed him to leave the keys sitting near the desk for check in later on. This led to some conjecture as to when/if the vehicle would be checked in promptly and without issue. Luckily, all turned out well. But, I would recommend this practice not continue in the future. This experience was awesome. Tierra handled my check-in, hitched up the trailer, and taught me a couple tricks for towing while she was at it. What a pleasant and great employee. To begin with, my reserved truck was not at the Wooster rd in Barberton as suppose to be. I have never seen a more filthy disgusting office in my life. Then I got transferred to V odem location. They didn't have a dolly available. I was not able to use your phone return truck application. I am not good with computer stuff. I called the number and their was a waiting line to get to my call and my phone went dead. I originally told a man on the line when I order the truck everything we had to move and he said what size I needed. Well it wasn't big enough so we had to make two trips causing me to return the truck after closing hours. I called the next morning to see what I owed and was shocked. I had no issues with the brick and mortar establishments but had a huge issues with the third party u-haul locations. I ended up having to cancel my entire order and had to go into a store and redo it. The site and app are not user friendly and cause lots of confusion and headaches. The employees would leave the inside of the store while they had a line to the door and no one was servicing the customers. One employee answered her personal phone in the middle of helping a customer after the customer waited in line for almost an hour.
