Upon returning the truck (same location as pickup) the time was 05:05 pm. I saw a few people around so I tried to go inside. Apparently I set off the alarm. I didn't know what to do with the keys,etc. No one explained anything upon pickup. The manager (I guess) returned saw me and asked if the alarm went off. I said yes, I was trying to find out what I needed to do and I tried to go inside. His response was, they will take care of that in the morning. Drop the keys in the slot on the window. They need to be more informative of the process if your return time is later than the store time. And if they think you have time to â€œread up on itâ€ while you have the truck, that would be a hard no. It's what used to be called customer service.Kat S.
The people who worked at the store were very unprofessional. They were both busy eating candy and drinking sweet tea at the counter. The guy came out to bring the truck to me and never spoke never said hi or how are you doing or anything. He was smoking a cigar and eating Skittles, he hopped in the truck and got out I said are is this it are we done? He said yeah and left. I know that they are supposed to walk around the truck with you to make sure there's no damage. I had to go back into the Store and say how do I check the mileage to make sure it's correct? When I got to the house and open the truck it was obvious no one had checked it before hand there was a chair a garbage canned and some other things inside. The truck smoked from the tail pipe. It was really beat up with little black exes all over it. I asked for moving blankets if I could rent them and they told me they were out. But that I could buy some. Which I did not. I told the guy at The counter that I would like to return it after hours he said OK, but did not tell me how to go about doing that. I tried to call to ask how I could return it after hours and was told I would be on hold for 50 minutes. All in all this was a very unsatisfactory experience and I will not be returning to this locationJami H.

This branch has went down drastically. I've rented trucks numerous times with No issues but now it's a problem. As soon as you walk in you feel uncomfortable due to noone speaking or greeting you. Once your at the desk it's as if they don't care if you rent or not. While discussing your rental agreement anything that's a little bit out of sorts is a huge problem. Instead of helping with the rental of the truck they make the situation way more complicated. This particular branch also had a lady who the desk clerk said was the manager. Turns out she was wearing an owners badge. If she is indeed the franchise owner it's not a good look. Terrible job all the way around. I would highly suggest the real owners of U-Haul check out this facility for yourself. Lady(bitch) that helped us was unremarkably racist. My father asked multiple times when he didn't understand what she was saying to please explain again and she would PROCEED to speak faster. The fucking audacity. Y'all need to find this woman and fire her. There was another worker that saw this problem (kudos to him) and was trying to help my father but the lady wouldn't let him. I am the son and I was not there but my father and mother were visiting memphis helping me move and this was the first thing they had to deal with. A fucking racist lady. Like come on now it's 2022 it's not the fucking 1930s like shit is lame. Please find her and deal with her. I do not know her name but my dad said she is an African American woman and she should be dealt with appropriately. They forgot to give the furniture blankets for my move that I had ordered. I figured they would be in the back of the trailer but they were notScott C.
I would not .....u haul severely inconvenienced me . First off Lamar ave location cancelled my order but not the whole order just the truck (makes no sense without the truck I don't need the rest) the cashier repeatedly said we didn't charge you for anything ( as I was showing her the charge from my mobile app) .the response was order at another location (because my truck obviously was the last truck they had) then I'll get your equipment and get you in a storage. So I ordered a truck at the summer location some how it attached a equipment order ( I promise I tap I do not need ) 73 charge so they took that money out .I get to summer location the charge comes with a hold 199 I noticed that 73 extra dollars was just taken....so I didn't have the money for the truck (4 hours and 10 reps later) I go borrow money get the truck. Get back to Lamar location they don't have my first equipment order their out of everything but boxes ( so that's 49.53 and 73 dollar plus the hold for the truck) storage was 144 no money back on my card I was still short they were closing had to keep the truck overtime...the next day one rep email me with a lot of I'm sorry and give me an extension (for a time and date she made up ) still no refund on the card so I still have the truck . Went and pawn some of my belongings to get the storage fee and the storage is inside a building ( never seen a storage like this should notify people when they order what type of storage it is) Storage also closing so another day (truck full of stuff) so now I'm getting calls and voicemail about the truck (wish customer service worked like that!) I'm being charged for the days I go over...ok work week starts 7am to 4pm no time and no help total order costs me about 500 dollars and time .. I will never order online again I will never go to that location again I actually want to sue .... Fuck u hauljason B.

Oh where do I start? Confirmed location pickup twice, showed up and the truck wasn't there. We took an Uber to the confirmed location and the truck wasn't there. Had to order a second Uber to get to the alternate location. After half an hour of dealing with the contract not going through we got our truck. Worth mentioning that I reserved a dolly and 30 moving blanketsâ€¦they had neither available. Got to the truck and the window was rolled down, cracked and broken. We then had to drive the truck to the closest service area where we waited an hour for them to fix the problem. So 3 hours later we had a truck. We had no blankets, no dolly, I was hours late to my job, had paid for an extra Uber, extra mileage on the truck and had to pay movers for their time while they waited. I was charged for not returning the vehicle with the same amount of gas from when I received the vehicle. The vehicle was in between half and a quarter tank full when I received it and when I returned it. I think this is confusing since most renters don't drive these kinds of trucks usually. I experienced Outstanding service from the moment I placed a phone call to rent a U-Haul vehicle. Employees were knowledgeable and eager to satisfy my vehicle needs. If I could make a recommendation, it would be to slow down a bit and have a little more patience with 1st time customers. It was my first time to rent a vehicle larger than an automobile, however overall service was Outstanding! I felt just a little bit rushed, but to an experienced customer, no problem! The employees could be more professional. The associates were on their cell phones, discussing their negative opinions about the other associates who works there, they were very loud when speaking with the customers. Would be nice to have 24 h access instead of until 10 pm and also a little be more friendly smiles form the staff. Luckily for us, our storage room was on the ground floor; have no idea how people might deal with loading/unloading heavy furniture to/from second floor storages as there is no elevator in the building. Very narrow corridors, which makes it uneasy to maneuver with long items. Other than that, nothing much to complaint about. Average storage facility, air-conditioned but could be a little better. Most of the workers at this location are rude it's incredibly unbelievable there are very few that actually have customer service skills I couldn't wait to move out so I wouldn't have to deal with any of them ever again. The night I moved out a white lady working cause I don't have names said it would be $20 to unhook and hook my carrier back up to the truck, I thought it was ridiculous but whatever I'll pay it. I sent my son in to pay and the black that was working told her not to do it and from my understanding from another customer he felt like she was talking nasty to him so he came out to help us. I'm just glad it's over! I have been using U-Haul storage since 2004 and in Feb 2021 I was able to get rid of one of the 2 rooms that I had. It was a sense of relief. I have had bad service many times when I had to interact with the front office staff. The day before yesterday, May 1st, 2021, I had to go to the office because your computer system was down. This is unacceptable. I was unable to pay my rent online. I had to drive 9 miles one-way because I did not want to be late with my rent. I stored half of my household in room 1713 for 15 1/2 years and finally on February 2nd, 2021 I consolidated all my possessions into room 1705. Over the years, I have noticed that the quality of service of this facility has gone down. It seems that when I ask for something, they are doing me a favor. It took a month for the office to acknowledge that I had emptied room 1713 which I communicated with the attendant at the front office immediately after I cleaned the room. They even sent me an email asking me for payment of rent of the unit after 3 weeks that I have emptied it and released it.
