I was told by an employee of uhaul because I was unable to get a truck for a confirmed reservation and had to be sent to a 2nd location I was eligible for the $50 guarantee but as of yet not able to get it. Very frustrating. Also when returning a truck it's frustrating if you can't remember your sign in information (because you're using a different phone!!!) and the system won't process your return using the contract number or phone number because it still wants you to sign in. Other than that, the State Street location was very amenable.

Organization and communication are clearly in great need of attention. When I arrived for my reservation, I was told the keys for the truck I reserved “were missing.” It was very difficult to get a clear answer or update from the attendant, who was a very poor communicator, and I waited for twenty minutes with no update or even acknowledgement while he attended to other customers. Then I was told my truck had just arrived, but late. After I completed the paperwork, I was given essentially no information whatsoever about operating the truck, just handed the keys and a dolly. Moving is a stressful activity in general, and the way my reservation was handled only increased the stress. This seems very counterproductive for a company whose slogan is “We make moving easy!” Attendants need additional training in customer service, and a better sense of anticipating customer needs by placing themselves in the customer’s position and being reactive if not proactive to those needs.

The customer service was terrible. While attempting to retrieve my rental it took 30 minutes just to pull up the agreement due to technical issues, which i can understand. What i didn't care for was the gentlemen who showed me to my truck was smoking a cigarette while working. When i returned the vehicle, i gave the keys to a different gentlemen, and went to hopped in the vehicle there to pick me up. Both people working the parking lot went inside instead of moving the uhaul truck while vehicles lined up behind us in the one way. I eventually moved a cone in the lot so we could leave. They just don't seem to care there and it was frustrating.

This location had what we needed. I can’t believe how long it takes to check out especially when I did everything on the phone before I got there. Also the man that was hooking up our trailer couldn’t seem to get the ball to work on the trailer. He came inside & grabbed a new one off the rack. This is the location we bought the ball from!!! So I came out & looked at what he was trying to hook up & it was the same size as what we had on the truck. I said: I don’t think you’re doing it right. So finally he pulled up on something & then it fit!! Lots of time delayed!!

The storage bins I rented were not cleaned before my rental. They had dirt, hair and room labels from the previous customer. They also did not clean the bins when I brought them back. They just stacked them back with the rest. That is disgusting. The payment system is also flawed. I paid $60 upfront for a $35 rental.

The unit I paid for had a lock on it. It took staff almost 3 hours to respond to get me another unit.

Once I arrived to the u it there was a lock on the one I was suppose to be using. I emailed and called. Someone was suppose to come cut the old lock. We’ve been waiting g for over1:45 min
