Manager was rude. Found roaches in the bathroom and asked what happened if my belongings got roaches and he said too bad. It was my problem to deal with. If I'm paying to store my belonging, I shouldn't have to worry about taking roaches home with me.

filthy windshield inside and out. smelled like cigarettes. gas was written up as half tank and that's what it looked like from standing outsider looking at angle but in reality it was less ( a few gal) than that as you sit in seat. . broken window crank ( yes it's amazing to still have manual windows these days) and it hurt my leg several times as the broken part is sharp. you should provide straps or at least emphasize to us rookie movers that there are no straps included and that they are necessary for keeping gear held tight to front wall. definitely would not recommend to a friend if this is the way it is all the time..

I will recommend that people are aware that there is no elevator for the second floor or ramp before they are booked for a second-floor storage anyone that is taking reservations for storage said make sure that they inform customers about the inconvenience of carrying their things to a second floor level Thank you Phyllis Jordan

Easy pickup and drop off process

Take away the 3 wheel bike that the young men were so busy riding,. Had a 10 am appointment, cargo van was not ready for pickup. Given the wrong keys and it took another 10 minutes to get help. This was my 3rd rental at this location and first time I had to wait. Staff is always friendly.

The young man who helped me, like the 4th or 5th time..... I so wish I caught his name but I am terrible with names. He is a young African American man and he is just the most personable, kind, humorous, helpful employee. A+ give him a raise. If I had a business I would hire him away in a second. A/C stopped working in hot middle of trip. Tire pressure sensors not work, kept alerting me of an issue. Stopped twice to have it checked, then told to ignore it. Cost me a few hours of the trip and slowed us down. Rest of the trip went well

Yes this is my first time personally renting with uhaul but it made it really difficult. First i had made a reservation via online/website. Then when we went the place where we booked onion to check things out they wasn't even open. They didn't have any uhauls on site. With that happening we went to a actual uhaul site. Following them we had to make a whole new reservation. Approaching our uhaul date the check in wouldn't show up on my portal but it didn't show up in office. When we finally went to go get the uhaul at the one on locust street(same pace we redid our reservation weeks ahead) they told us they didn't have our uhaul and we had to get it from another site but it was close thankfully. Then when we finally got to the right destination we paid for a the truck and dolly and was told to come back and get the dolly after we packed up the uhaul which we did. As i arrive back i was informed again that they didn't have it cuz they gave it to someone else. I sadly had to get another reservation for a dolly at another location(30 mins before they close) further out. Then as i get situated there they tell me they don't have a payment from me but they have a charge that was reimbursed the same day and i had no other choice but pay again for it was the day before my move. The next morning i saw i had both charges on there when i was told that i wouldn't be charged again. Soooooo that's pretty much sums everything but i need a reimbursement for $260. Then i returned the uhaul and had to pay an additional fee of $80.88 for more mileage when we specifically asked for more when booking.

The employees did their jobs fine, but they weren't really friendly or welcoming. Just ambivalent. They couldn't find the truck we booked so we had to wait 40 extra minutes while they got us another one. And then, it was empty on gas. They told us to go fill it up ourselves. We barely made it to the gas station before running out. While we got the equipment we needed to get the job done, the service was pretty mediocre.

I turned my same-day rental in and the next day they called and asked when I was bringing in back. After I called and explained that I turned it in and took pictures, they said they would look into it. I eventually received a receipt but I was worried all day.

The Village Initiative is a not for profit organization and we frequenty use your service, When I picked up my last van I was told the truck had 1/2 tank of fuel it only had a1/4. The truck had a major exhaust leak which was entering into the cab which require me to roll the windows down so there was point in trying to use the a/c.Due to the massive leak there was a loss of power which decreases gas mileage. The excessive noise did not allow me to complete my total errand because I was apprehensive about driving in johnson county for fear of citation for excessive noise. There were two warning lights on the instrument panel one indicated water the other appeared to be the image of a radiatior. Which caused me to have to keep a constant eye on the temperature gauge. The truck should be taken out of service until these problems are resolved. This is not the norm for this U-Hual location. I will be using the service again on 8/22/22 and expect the usual U-Haul standard. A discounted rate would demonstrate your appreciation of our business.

This was not a great experience. First, I return the truck and the receipt does not match what happened. I have a picture at 10:48 with a full tank for drop off. The receipt showed 2PM and 7/8 gas. I had to file a request to review as this was wrong. Also, the insurance charge was added back - I'm worried someone used the truck after I dropped it off. Second, I reserved a dolly online, walked by 4 on the way into the store. I was not able to take one as they had none available. Finally, when dropping off my rental truck, one of the workers was driving around crazy and screeching the tires. I am worried, since I handed them the keys, they did something with the truck after I left and it is going to impact me.

U-Haul screwed us out of 25 bucks by changing the location after we had already booked. Upon arrival it took us about 45 minutes to get the truck even though we were only one of two customers. I will be calling and asking for a refund soon.

Had me select a pickup location and a different drop off location but once I confirmed reviewing it and then added the reservation it automatically changed it to where I had to drop it off at the same location that I picked it up. So I ended up spending more money to put gas in it plus more money for the miles. I am extremely unhappy. What was supposed to be only about $35 to use ended up being $65 and the customer service rep basically told me there is nothing nobody can do even though well aware of the tech error

When someone has a reservation for a piece of equipment, and there are three similar pieces of equipment sitting there in the lot, don't tell them that what they have reserved is not available because it has not been returned. I was told that they couldn't substitute on of the others because they were reserved. Yeah, so was mine, and I'm standing here. I did eventually convince them that they should rent me something that was available AT THE SAME PRICE as my reservation, but it should not have taken so long (30-45 minutes in the store!) The people working there were great, but they need to be allowed more authority to address customer needs, especially on weekends when management is not present.

I think we messed up the convenience of the online check-in process by seeking guidance from the staff instead of attempting to just access the facility on our own. Rather than just walking us through the info we received online, it was as if they started the check-in process all over but did not tell us they changed our access info, etc and they charged us for another lock but we found one in the unit when we got to the unit. Small inconveniences of having to make multiple trips back to the office to figure out why we couldn't get in. In the end it all worked out fine, just not the most helpful (knowledgeable??) staff. Nice facility, less impressed with the staff. Just seemed to go through the motions rather than really listen to customer and assist appropriately. Even inquired about dropping our rental truck there instead of returning to STL area but was basically discouraged from doing so for reasons that felt more like because the staff didn't want to deal with it, than for legitimate reasons. This may be an inaccurate impression, so I don't want to be too negative about our experience with staff. Overall I would recommend the facility to others.

Uhaul was willing to work with us and allowed us to use an old office that had been converted into a storage unit. The draw back was that our unit was located inside the store area and we could not access it after 7. When we moved out of unit it became very apparent that no big extermination had been done. We paid for a climate control area which I assumed would mean minimal bug inhabitation but I was wrong! Ants and beetles covered the floor under our things. Thankfully beds were up high and showed no sign of bugs.

My only concern were the bugs, which I understand can be brought in by customers. I saw a few in my storage unit and the hallway. Other than that I was very pleased with my service. Robert chambers was always so nice and friendly when I would come in there. Very helpful. Only downside is the stairs to the upper storage lockers. Very difficult when taking items to locker and to car. Almost fell a couple times. Need ramps or life to get upstairs when you are carrying items.

The entire staff there on State Ave. were courteous and helpful to all customers and they had a handle on any situation for the customers needs. Any information about what type of storage was available was answered and all equipment for rental was maintained adequately, plus any propane tank that needed to be refilled for the customers needs were equatable and promptly executed for the customers convince. I'm a DAV and my hat is off to the service granted to me for the entire time of nearly five years that I needed their assistance. May everybody and their families be richly blessed. Our 24 hour access card stopped working while moving things from the truck to the storage. It was 12 at night. When emergency # didn't answer the 800 # rep got card reactivated so we could finish.

Had problems complete move. Truck had issues. There been reported. Reservations on storage unit were incorrect. Turned into big issue. Eventually storage, corrected. Both issues made move terrible.
