Truck was clean but smelled of cigarette smoke. The attitude of the attendants at this location is pretty poor. If another option becomes available in the neighborhood, I will go elsewhere in the future.MARK B.

I reserved the truck for 8am the store didn't open till 9am and the workers were late. When I called to complain I got one of the workers there that was late and to add salt to injury she only offered me a 10% discount which was less that $6. That was a insult.alex S.

The check engine light was on in the truck the entire time I was driving it. I had the truck for about 2 hours and the ride was not smooth at all, the key got stuck in the ignition the whole time. I was scared the truck would break down while I had it. This location needs to ensure proper maintenance on their vehicles.PROMISE J.

First off I'd like to say this is not just a review from me this is from me my employees and everybody who I know that uses this location. When I have time I definitely do not use this location it's just right by my house so being so close I use when have to. The employees are very racist towards white people. At first I thought it was just me then I realized it's not just me. And honestly I did not know what was going on then one of my friends who is black actually called it out and then I realized it and it's very unfortunate they treat me like total garbage and like I'm just a thorn in there side they scrutinize every aspect of any transaction and are like out to burn me every chance they can with some kinda additional charges I just feel so disrespected and I actually use U-Haul very frequently and always take very good care of equipment on this rental I was supposed to get 50 cause my guaranteed vehicle was not available. Well it was there but they could not find the keys so they changed my to a cargo van instead of a pickup truck and I agreed to do this but still think I'm supposed to get my guarantee payout because the truck was not available at the other locations this was not a problem in the past. Here it's like I'm some kinda ass hole if I even bring it up. That's not fair don't have a guaranteed payout for vehicle being available that you can't uphold. This part is minimal to the situation. With that part of it set aside it be nice to be treated like a human being. Over the last year iv rented probably close to 30 times and should be a valued customer but instead I dread having to go get a vehical or trailer and the second a new company comes along I'll be forced to jump ship from using U-Haul. This all seems to be just at this location every other location is pleasant and inviting and respectful. Really hate having to write a crap review but I just hope someone can do somthing to turn this location around at this point im prolly never going back in there it just sucks. And this is the same story I hear from all my neighbors and friends it's a true bummer anyhow thanks U-Haul for all your other locations I don't know what else to sayRichard M.
The 10 ft van that I had reserved wasn't available when I arrived. I had to settle for a cargo van, which took twice as many trips to complete the move. Seems like they over estimate their inventory. Be wary.Marshall K.
Customer service should show up to work on time and be ready to rent when the store opens. I showed up at 7 to rent trailer the employee didn't show up until 735 and then we had to wait for the computer to warm up I didn't leave there till 830 with my trailer. I dropped off the trailer early, went inside, checked with the ladies, they said I was good to go. Several hours later they called and left a message saying I still had the trailer and they would hit me with fees and penalties and blah blah blah. It turned out they just never went outside to look at it or bothered checked me in. Very poor customer service.HARRY S.

Pickup apt for 7:00am. Worker showed up late to open location at 7:20. Didn't acknowledge me waiting outside and then told me my pickup time was 7:30 even after I attempted to show her my confirmation email for 7:00 am. She wanted no part of the facts and truth. That's not important, you are here nowâ€ were her exact worlds! She wouldn't even admit she was wrong after opening late. It don't matter, my time don't matter. This worker was completely out of line and unprofessional to say the least. Disgusting, lazy and I don't care attitude. My time IS worth something and you wasting it is not something I can accept or tolerate. Worst customer service you will experience at this St Claude Ave location in New Orleans. I reserved a truck at a location 3 minutes from my home when I went there to pick it up there was no truck another location came and took the truck and rented it to someone else so I lost close to 2 hours finding that out then I had to rent another truck that was bigger than the one I reserved from a location 20 more minutes away from my house and had to pay twice the price for it plus the extra mileage on top to say my experience was terrible would be an understatement and because I had to lose over 3 hours getting the other truck from a different location from the original one I reserved the truck I needed I lost a day of work because I couldn't get the work done in time so on top or the mistakes with the truck I reserved I had to miss a day of work too I do not recommend anyone to use U haul after I was treated like I didn't matter so I will have to take my business elsewhereCameron M.

I replaced the gas to the spot I retrieved it at. The attendant who checked the car in did not say anything about the fuel. I was charged for 2 gallons of fuel after I left. I was not given the opportunity to show them the picture I took of the fuel level. So sad to get manipulated out of over 7 dollars for fuel without being notified they believe there was a discrepancy. This is so sad to do business like this. Very disappointing.JOHN T.

I am wondering after looking at Safeway plan that I had, why did I have to pay out of my pocket for damage that was not cause by anything within my control. I was reading the Safeway contract just now and it states one of the main four things covered by the 14.99 plan is that the uhaultruck and everything in it is covered by the plan. I did not have a hanging roof or collision or anything like that. It was a tree stump in the tree that hit the truck as I slowly turned on delachaise and galvez street. If the uhaul was covered by safe plan, why did my card have to be charged, when the truck was insured. I don't understand. I need an answer from your legal team. The clerk told me I have to contact the city to get my money back I guess.WANDA M.

The staff, in particular the person who I returned the van to really hates her job. She was absolutely horrible. I asked for her to check the fuel(I had returned full) and she became real irritated and sulked and pouted and reluctantly turned the key and checked. Then later I had to return because I had left an item in the truck. She saw me standing in the waiting area and refused to help me. She was playing with the computer and interrupting the other person behind the counter with questions and complaints while the other employee was helping the person in front of me. Then the phone rang and Miss pouty pants answered the phone and explained something to the customer about how they had no vehicles. Not sure if it mattered but the cargo van I turned in earlier was turned in 4 days early. SO I think they did have a vehicle. My storage was not secured I have items missing and they allowed someone that was family in my storage and took items out of my storage my storage was in my niece name Monica Ramsey before I took her off and put it in my name because I figured out what they was doing to secure my storage and on top of that they tried to block me from paying my storage rental I had somewhere else . When things you put into a storage unit is not secured and employees allow other people to go in there when I was paying my storage myself is not COOL on all levels . My niece had the keys and key card before I got to New Orleans so she was able to do whatever before she gave me the keys to the lock and access card to get in. My storage reservation at this location and the westbank wasn't honored the day of reservation. This happened twice in a 2 week period. Both managers insisted they never had my storage unit available for my reserved room even thought I reserved both units two weeks in advanced and spoke with call centers agents multiple times before and day of to confirm reservation. When I iterated this to managers their response was I didn't speak to them so it didn't count and that their phone systems weren't working so the call center and online system was reserving units that weren't available . When I asked if there was a better way to reserve units they couldn't give me an answer. I had to scramble last minute with a full truck to find a different storage unit across town. When I picked up my U-haul truck, the representative was unfriendly and rude. I would not recommend Uhaul to a friend and will never use Uhaul again.Rachel C.

This location was 35 miles the opposite side of townâ€¦ it took an hour 1/2 to get home. Requested a closer location but was told there wasn't one but they have a U-Haul location 5 minutes from my location. Also, A/C was broken in this vehicleâ€¦ explained that upon return- we moved in 90 degree weather to get in a truck that had NO A/C â€¦.. and we PAID for this service or lack of!PEDRO E.
