The Manager is EXTREMELY very rude and Unprofessional and they rented us a truck that they should have know was roach infested!!!!!!!!!! When we brought the truck back they said people had been using the trucks to haul trash. If you know this, why are you not cleaning and fumigating these trucks when they get returned. It was really bad news to discover that my reservation time and place had been changed ---- one day before my move to a different location AND a different time. Poor Form! Had I not discovered it, I would have shown up at the place and time I scheduled to be sent away. Poor form! I paid three movers for that day. What would I have done if I hadn't been pro-active? This location was 35 miles the opposite side of townâ€¦ it took an hour 1/2 to get home. Requested a closer location but was told there wasn't one but they have a U-Haul location 5 minutes from my location. Also, A/C was broken in this vehicleâ€¦ explained that upon return- we moved in 90 degree weather to get in a truck that had NO A/C â€¦.. and we PAID for this service or lack of!PEDRO E.

The location is not the issue, it's the links an app and the location and everything that has to do with checking in overnight. We are constantly having problems. When we try to call customer service nobody answers at 2 o'clock in the morning when we're trying to drop off a truck like a reservation had asked. And then we get charged $20 for convenience fee would really what else are we supposed to do? So no the location didn't do anything wrongLAUREN S.

General manager at store was rude and she as well as the cashier did not even acknowledge my wife and I walked in and approached the counter until we said something to them. GM and cashier continued to complain about how hard their day is and lay their heads down like they wished they were sleeping. Cashier was also unwelcoming and bland, as though our rental pickup was a bother for them and was intervening in their day. The truck we rented smelled like smoke and ran horribly the whole time we used it. Sounded like the van was on it's last leg. Internally, the lights didn't work on the dash. Lock was broken on the truck. I would not recommend using this location for your rental. I have had great experiences with U-Haul in the past, however, this experience was poor and a bad representation of this company.JONATHAN D.

Wjen you say $19.95 per day, we assumed because we were not told otherwise it would be per 24 hours. We were charged for two days of rental for returning the vehicle 2 hours later. 8-6pm. Please consider training your staff or being truthful in your advertising. Also, the checkout time took 45 minutes. The truck was dirty. We had to wipe it down prior to use.BARRY B.

My Uhaul box was dropped on arrival. Although the facility let me know that my box had arrived, earlier than planned I was unable to hear the full message. When I finally got in touch with a representative, as I was in another state and unable still they only informed me that my box had arrived to the facility. They told me I could schedule my drop off. I called the Uhaul schedulers back twice that week to adjust drop off time of the box so I could arrange some help to unload it. When My flight was delayed the day before it was supposed to be dropped off I tried to call the facility it was supposed to be delivered from and they told me that in fact no delivery had been scheduled. That it would not even be possible in the state within the communicated time frame because the storm had left them with only one truck for the state. That may have been fine, after the representative told me they could maybe deliver the box by the following week I changed my flight for a later arrival and planned to have help for just a few unwieldy things for about an hour after the box would be delivered. However on arrival I got a call that I had to come assess the unit because it had been damaged. Apparently it had fallen off the truck on delivery to the site. This was the first time I was hearing about it. So not only would the box not be able to be delivered on the previously agreed upon date, it would have to be unloaded on site into a moving truck and then unloaded again on site. I was unable to secure assistance from the suggested movers in the area for that amount of time without advanced notice and unable to have the one person I know here help me for that amount of time. The actual representatives at the st.claude facility were very polite and helped me to coordinate a truck to move things. No one was available to help me move my big pieces of furniture, and once they removed the safety straps the truck had to be loaded all at once. This was not ideal, and ultimately led to quite alot of physical strain. I ended up paying someone who was dropping off a truck on the site to help me load my mattress and then unload the truck. Most of my boxes were broken with possessions falling out. I am also quite sure that at least one box didn't make it all together as I am missing the other half of some sets of things. My box of outdoor gear broke so bad that my helmet cracked. Well wrapped items cracked and chipped. All my wood furniture is now scratched and chipped. A couple of my appliances and printer are not working even though they were wrapped and packed with bubble wrap. I was told that because the container made it to delivery point that I get no refund, especially given the inconvenience. I get that accidents happen but the amount of inconvenience is ridiculous. It made an already stressful move worse and now I am stuck trying to assess what is worth keeping and trying to get fixed. They only covered the rental vehicle. Thank god I got insurance, although that is not going to replace the items of sentimental value, collector items or that were from my grandma. The insurance claim process is going to be an absolute nuisance. Unpacking broken items and having to figure out what can capture damage in a photograph is almost not worth the hassle. This is my 2nd of 3 bad experiences with uhaul, it will be my last.Sophie C.

The employees showed up 20 minutes late to open the store, and several of us were waiting already at 8:50am. Additionally, when I tried to return my truck, the website would not allow me to share my location even though I followed all the steps to do so. The proceeds was not entirely smooth.ANGELICA C.

I ended up at this location due to a major issue with my reserved location. (Royalty Car Wash on Judge Perez Dr in Chalmette). When I arrived at my reservation location, I was told that I did not have a truck Andy it was delivered to the wrong location. I asked how this was possible since I had a reservation (confirmed by Uhaul the day prior) and how I'd physically seen a 20 foot truck at the location just 30 minutes prior to come pick it up. I was told that was somebody else's truck and I did not have a truck. I was told to call Uhaul. I questioned again and was met with a very vulgar response and told that the conversation was over. After calling the 800 number I wasn't directed to the St. Claude location. The people at the St. Claude location were very professional and helpful.Jack B.

Absolutely terrible service. I reserved the UHAUL online and my rate had doubled when I went to pick it up. The day I picked up the UHaul it did not have a full tank of gas. Additionally I have been charged for my ESTIMATED mileage instead of my actual mileage I drove on top of being charged a fueling fee for gas when I left. The woman at the counter was so rude when I called back to straighten things out I could barely have a conversation with her. My charges have come out to triple what I reserved online. I never mind paying for the services I use but I can't help but feel like I'm being ripped off.James J.

The worst customer service experience I have ever experienced. I'm staff is disrespectful and unwilling to assist. One of the employees was smoking in the U-Haul trucks. The general manager was very rude and unhelpful, one staff member was so lazy she ignored my voice when trying to talk to her so I could get assisted and the third employee was smoking in your trucks.JULIO D.

Personnel not very helpful. First employee that I asked to help return truck was eating his lunch at counter and did not speak. I finally asked if he could help and he said to go out side and he would be out. He never came out. The second employee helped but was not overly friendly. Excellent experience top to bottom. We first tried the Metairie Causeway location and was assisted by a knowledgeable young man there. We reserved at a different location, registered online, and the check-out was smooth and easy at the facility. Can was clean and in hood working order. Great drop-off location. The customer service at this location was awful. The person who I dealt with to obtain the keys was so rude. Also, I had rented an appliance dolly and 30 furniture blankets along with a truck. The items were not in the truck when I went to drive away. So I had to go back in to get those items. The employee rudely replies, â€œwe don't got any appliance dollies in the store.â€ I was immediately irritated since I reserved the item 14 days in advance. She didn't apologize or try to assist me in locating an available one at another nearby store. She then went to get the blankets and just threw them in bags and threw them at our feet in front of the store. At this time, my husband and I noticed an appliance dolly sitting in front of the sliding door to the warehouse. I asked the employee, â€œis there any reason we can't use this appliance dolly?â€ She replied very snippy, â€œI didn't know that was there, it probably just came out of a truck.â€ I just responded with, â€œok well can we use it then?â€ She didn't reply to me at all. She just walked back inside. So my husband and I just stood outside the building awkwardly waiting to see if we could take this dolly that I had already technically reserved. Finally another associate walks by and I ask, â€œhey can I take this dolly?â€ He goes inside, asks the female employee that we had been dealing with if we could take it and she says, â€œyeahâ€. So she never intended to tell us we could take it and she was so ugly throughout the entire process. I had opted to do the â€œapp check inâ€ process where all I should have needed to do was click some buttons on my phone and just get the keys from the associate inside. It should have taken about 10 min. Instead, it took me a little over an hour to do everything because of having to go back and forth with this rude employee. I was very disgusted with how I was treated. Also, the truck had less than 1/8 of a tank of gas when we picked it up.Douglas B.

The manager was late to work. The store was supposed to open at 7am Saturday but she didn't arrive to after 8am. My reservation was for 7:30 and I got there at 9. It messed up my entire day. I had to leave and come back at 3pm. I am very disappointed because I use uhaul every weekend because I am a party planner. I was late to my event as an result. She told me to disputed it ant the end of self checkout but I was still charged .DOMINIQUE S.

There was a line of customers because the manager wasn't there during the time It should have been. There were about 12 people outside waiting. We were finally able to get our truck turned in as others waited outside to rent. But then we received a call stating we owed 10 bucks and she was rude. I asked why was no one there to open store as whwn I left it was hour and half past time. The female manager â€œ said because I was late. With a complete attitude. I am sure you can look at tickets or cameras to see the people waiting outside. She then repeated â€œ cuz I was late â€œ as if it was acceptable. It just shows the level of character she never apologized for the inconvenience of anything so rude and abrupt. I will be writing corporate. I am so thankful my parents pushed education. Do not use this location the current manager is rude, not trustworthy to arrive ontime and has a attitude of entitlement.OTIS S.
