Move in experience HOT and TERRIBLE!!!!!!! A male staff at the location gave me wrong information on access time to get in that cost me a lot of time and money ! Staff was friendly but not informative which cause me to never come back after I leave! I will never forget this awful day and will tell others ! Daytime move in hours horrible for out of town or in town working customers! Access hours are not great it's horrible! I got wrong times to unload my items! I drove hours and could not get any assistance to get in storage because a male staff on duty earlier gave me the wrong time to get in ! I had items loaded up and I could not get in to the building! I called 24 hour customer service and still got nowhere! It was hot and mosquitoes around storage were awful ! No one stated to ask for extended time until after the office hours were closed! 24 hour Customer service should've been able to give extended time to customers if they can see you are a customer on computer! I had one UBox in storage and a second UBox shipped from IL to be delivered together. One box arrived damage and both arrived a day late without any communication of non-delivery. The staff didn't have any idea of delivery status but promised delivery and a call- neither happened. I waited in an empty house til 7pm and had to pay for a hotel. Calls to the location were forwarded to a GA location that didn't have any info. I spoke w customer service and opened a ticked but never heard from someone at corporate as promised. They lost my reservation for my unit I did online and they charged my card for someone else's lock days before I was set to move causing my account to be overdrawn resulting in a fee which has yet to be resolved. I'm still confused how that happened considering we have to present an ID. They said it was probably because we shared a (common) last name literally nothing else i.e. someone was too incompetent to do the minimum requirement of the job which is reading and comprehension!ALeicia S. | First Impressions
I booked the truck for a location very close to me, (less than a mile) and the company switched it to a location across town. The manager knocked $10.00 off for me, but I was still charged extra for having to drive across town. First, they didn't have the keys for the truck I had reserved. After searching around for several minutes, they changed me to a larger truck. When I went to get the truck, it was the second truck in its line, so I couldn't drive it out. I had to go back inside and tell them. I showed them a picture of the truck in front of mine, so they could grab the keys and move it, but they couldn't find the keys. After several minutes, they finally found the keys and moved the truck out of the way. When I was finally ready to leave with my truck, someone had parked with their trailer in front of my truck's lane. I had to ask them to move, which they did. I was finally able to leave with my truck. From arrival at the site, it took about 45 minutes to leave with my truck.James P.

My storage had no light but I was ok with this because I didnt need it. Customer service is pretty slow here...not sure if its because they need help or the work environment is too laid back. There were times in the past I've had issues with my storage account and the bank drafts. The floor management/personnel wasnt the most helpful. Store manager issued back some credit for the late fees that should not have been charged due to their systems not working but that's after I asked nor did i get back all of my late fees. This was our 3rd pick up location. The first one which is the one we requested was switched the day before pick up. The second location when we arrived wasn't set up for 24 hour pick up and we were unable to get keys for the truck, we called again and were sent to this location where we were able to get the truck, however we drove around for about 2 hours unnecessarily because of a lack of communication and follow up on the part of UHaul even though I had confirmed everything thee day prior.Thurman R.

could not get a refund for the unused boxes and fridge pak because we bought them online instead of in a store they clerk said we needed a receipt and I pulled up the order on my Iphone to show her but it did not matter makes no sensebrent B.
Ensure the vehicle is not infested with ants, also update your vehicle gauge clusters to reflect the same on both your computer system and printed receipt. Specifically the fuel gauge does not match, so customers who are not aware or not told maybe charged erroneously because the truck Guage doesn't match the computer system.Percy M.

The pickup location was small. The personnel were very helpful and professional. The issue was that the tow trailer may have had a defect, or the listing said my 2014 Hyundai Sonata was wrong the car got repeatedly hung trying to load it. Staff was professional and friendly. Gas gauge was showing less gas (half tank) then what was on paper (3/4). Showed on picture to staff who check truck in he verbalize all good I see that. ( arrow is above the initial gas when I took truck ). Ended up getting charge 23 dollar more for gas for 4 gallon. After waiting another 10 minutes maybe more, an employee entered from outside and ask, â€œâ€who's driving the white avalanche, I responded â€œI amâ€, he said something I couldn't understand that ended with him saying, â€œI took the trailer off and you're readyâ€, and I said you mean I'm good to go? Truck was too small I could not move all my stuff so I still have to go back and get my things because I wasn't going to use the truck for two runs. Worst experience of my life. They dropped my box off late and broken so i needed to wait even longer to receive it and management was rude and unhelpful. I Personally had my family cancel 2 upcoming shipments with them and chose to go with Ratpack. I will gladly pay $240 more to not deal with this U-Haul company. First truck rented, after starting it, had the â€œcheck engineâ€ light on, given a replacement truck, it had the air bag light on. Attended said air bags not deployed so good to go, then noticed the windshield had two long cracks near both windshield wiper areas. He said it was already noted, but did not tell me about it before leaving. The truck also had a child's toy and an electronic plug left in the cup holders. No instructions on how to operate any equipment or an extra charge if we used the hand cart or the blanket stored inside!James B.

Lamarcus capers charged me with a cleaning fee. It is so ridiculous. I inspect the car before I return it and was told that there's bunch of hair in there. How ridiculous is that. Possibly the worst service ever. Even the representative Irma alegria and manager Kevin Anderson from the Columbia office were rude and unhelpful. They did not care. My husband and I have rented storage units in the past at many different places as well as states. This is the cleanest facility we have ever been in. Very well lit. Convenient with the moving carts. There was a big moving truck that pulled in minutes in front of us. There was only the one functioning door. Scheduling my Uhaul was an issue; the site I was sent to did not have the truck I needed and then I was on hold for over an hour- my move was grossly delayed. Then, through the office I setup automatic payments and asked the gentleman twice if we were good to go- turns out we were not. I got the payment due notification, but all of my bills are set up to auto pay and it didn't autopay- I immediately paid and emailed the agent and never heard back. Logged into my account and the auto pay was not set up. So I set it up- the following month was the same issue. This time I called instead, they waived the late fee and corrected the issue. The site does not save properly, and is full of discrepancies (payment never saved properly and misinformation on vehicle availability) . However, majority of Uhaul staff are patient and accommodating- I thank those gentlemen who assisted through each hurdle.Shavon C. | Overall Experience
