UHaul charged me $17+ for 0.1 gallons of gas. Absolutely ridiculous and absurd!!!! I could have filled the entire tank for that much. My $30 uhaul ended costing almost $100 I drove it two blocks. FALSE advertising on Uhaul’s part. I will rent from another company in the future.

Vehicle was fine for my circumstances. However, it was past due for oil change and the windshield wipers were shredded. Thankfully it was a dry day. It would also be really helpful if trucks had cruise control and a backup camera.

The management at the facility has changed and its ridiculous. With my last experience with U-Haul, I’m pretty sure I won’t be as loyal of a customer. The employees, the management, and the vehicles are in poor condition. -The window handle was broken. -The driver door didn’t close tight. -I returned the vehicle at night and the next morning I’m pounded with an outrageous bill. The manager says there was a man sleep in the car who said he was my brother. Apparently, a homeless man broke into the vehicle and slept there until someone arrived in the early morning. The manager told me she has no proof I locked the doors and I’ll be charged a cleaning fee. The “homeless man” entered the car on U-Haul property. -I called the manager and she wasn’t welcoming to the conversation -The manager told customer service “my brother was in the car when they got to work” Overall, This Uhaul location has been run into the ground in the last 6 months and I’ll be using Enterprise which is two blocks away.

The worst experience of my life. I will never recommend anyone at that facility. Terrible customer service and infested with rodents issues it distryed everything I own. I went to explain that to store they just threw a pamphlet at me and told me to call the claim in and asked me if they wanted me to sweep my unit out. They had no sympathy. I was just loss and confused and very hurt. I experienced problem from them since day one.

Most times when I did business in the office, my wait time was moderately long; in which I didn't mind, because it made me feel that this location was convenient, popular and appreciated. Waited 30 minutes to get a van I had reserved the day before. Staff came across as incompetent. Clumsy return procedure. I was the third person to park van in lot, walk to office, only to be told to walk back to lot and drive van into dock. Poorly signed. Waited five minutes for someone to inspect the vehicle. Penske Arlington, a month ago, was a breeze by comparison. Will use Penske from now on.

I rented plastic moving bins. They were not clean at all and many were filthy on the inside. However the actual people working at the location were very friendly and helpful.

This was probably THE most unprofessional experiences I have ever had. It took over a week to even book the truck I rented (finally, due to the help of Aquinnah, who works at the S. Capitol St. SW 20003 locatioin). Three of your employees were flat-out rude to me and my friend Jonathan this past Thursday morning (1/9) when we picked up the truck. When we returned the truck, the man who took the truck from us did not put out his cigarette, so he brought his lit cigarette into the truck to check the mileage, so I'm just waiting to be charged and blamed for the truck smelling like smoke. The man who checked me in was incredibly rude, and the woman who got the truck for us was not friendly at all. It was all so unprofessional I'd rather use another company next time and pay more money. If you'd like me to provide you with further details, please feel free to call or email me. The employee stood up and said “do you have a reservation but I ain’t doing no walk ins at 6:50!” I said I am only returning a dolly and have no other needs. This is the second time I’ve rented from this location in the past couple months and both times it seemed like they were understaffed and ill-equipped to handle the number of people coming in to get trucks. Although I had filled out all of the paperwork online and they had my credit card info, it still took me about 30 minutes to get checked in. The woman who was helping me was trying to do several things at once, including talking to other employees on the walkie talkie and answering questions for other customers. She had to run my credit card more than once—even though I had already put it in when I made the reservation online. Then they didn’t seem to have the trucks prepped for any of the reservations, so one other employee was running around trying to check gas and mileage and get the right equipment into the right truck. It was very frustrating and a problematic delay on a day when we had a lot of hard work to do. My expectation when I make a rental like this is that any checking in can be finished in 10 minutes or less and that the truck will be ready for me to go after that. The team at this location has a long way to go to be able to do that.

I was annoyed at the fact that the Uhaul application told me to show up to pick up my equipment at 8:30 sunday when the facility did not open until 9:00. I think that the express check out is misleading because when I completed the express check out and it said "you just saved 30 minutes at the store, youre ready to go!" I assumed that was the last I needed to do before pickup. However, there was a second stage of verification that I needed to do which is why there was no truck waiting for me at 8:30. Despite this issue, Sabrina from the Navy Yard UHaul location was extremely helpful and kind in getting the issue resolved. She was patient with me despite me being frustrated and remedied the situation fully. I was extremely annoyed at my experience up until that point and I think Sabrina (i thiink that was her name) really saved you guys from my persepctive.

There was a shortage in carts and the use of the other elevator was out of service for some time. The bathroom had a shortage of paper towel as well. The rent rate kept going up and I dont know why.

Stop parking your trucks at the loading dock. Leave the loading dock available for your storage customers. Moving in and out was a major pain as almost every spot was taken by unrented uhaul trucks.

Charging additional monthly fees for 24-hour access is a scam. As, the facility is built to accommodate this service, it should be a basic inclusive ammenity. External security is questionable.
