The radio was broken..No blankets in blanket bin ALSOâ€¦ There was a pair of RAYBAN SUNGLASSES LEFT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD!!!! How convenient that when we went by the Norwood branch that the truck was there with Arizona plates on it STILL but the guy that works there handed my boyfriend a scratched up pair that werent even the right sunglasses!!!!! I called the Norwood store and â€œThomasâ€ the one who gave the sunglasses(Scratched up pair that weren't even the same glasses)to my boyfriend,Was so unprofessional and completely rude gave me a phone #to call and its an invalid phone #?????? Those glasses better turn up immediately or I will be calling corporate indefinitelyâ€¦â€¦..what kind of business are you running??? I am NOT HAPPY and those expensive sun glasses better be returned asap as I was the only person who rented that truck and NOBODY got in after that so I KNOW YOU GUYS HAVE THE GLASSES!!Karen A.

Our experience was abhorrent, to say the least. We reserved our 20' truck, trailer, furniture pads, and two-wheel dolly two months prior to our move date. We spoke to someone at this location to verify that the reservation was in their system and that the selections we made would be available at the location on the date we specified. We were then notified in an email that the we were to pick the truck up at a different location, a gas station nearby. We were concerned that this would cause an issue with the trailer hook-up and contacted the store again to ensure that we could pick up at this location, which they confirmed. Less than 24 hours before our scheduled pick-up time, the store contacted us to confirm our reservation for the following day. They told us they had a 20' truck available, but not the trailer we needed to tow our vehicle. We explained that it was confirmed by the store when we made our reservation two months prior, but they said none could be made available. We asked what our options were, as we now had no way of moving our vehicle over 1500 miles. The store was unable to provide a resolution and offered a $50 credit. We explained that we would have to find someone, with no notice, who could drive the vehicle to our new home and pay for them to fly back; a flight that costs considerably more than $50. We were told someone would contact us in 24-48 hours with a resolution (spoiler: it has been 11 days since this conversation and no one has contacted us to discuss the issues). The morning of our pick-up, the store was initially unable to find our reservation and, once they did, told us that they did not have a two-wheel dolly available, regardless of our reservation. Upon leaving the store, we saw that there was at least one dolly â€œfor saleâ€ on the sales floor. We then had to make a trip to Home Depot to purchase one for our moveâ€"another charge we were not anticipating. After already beginning to load the truck, we were contacted by the store again to notify us that a trailer was available over 40 minutes away. We explained that we were expecting to be on the road by that evening, had already made arrangements for someone to drive the vehicle and purchased a non-refundable plane ticket for them to get home, AND no one had contacted us to discuss a resolution. We were told again that someone would reach out within 24-48 hours. In addition to the previously stated expenses, we had to pay for gas for the vehicle that was intended to be towed, as well as hotel accommodations and food for the additional driver. Three days after this saga began, we received an email from Jennifer Holman (Traffic Control Manager) stating that a $50 refund had been issued, even though we STILL had not been contacted and there had been no acknowledgement of the issues that occurred. At the time of our pick-up, we were told by the store associate that our contract would state the gas tank was at 3/4 full. When we returned the truck, we were charged $20 because we were misinformed and the contract actually stated the tank level was 13/16 full. Quite frankly, a $50 refund is offensive. We chose to make a large move with U-Haul over less expensive companies because we trusted the brand and it ended up being one of the worst mistakes we could make.Alec M.

The truck I rented was not in very good shape at all. It had over 170000 miles on it. It rode really bad and sounded like the rear end was going to fall out. Wasn't sure I was going to make it to and from the cape.Louis B.
The truck was great and served its purpose. The customer service was not. The staff member didn't even say hello and the whole transaction came off very rude and like they were just inconvenienced by me being there. I have used this location many times and they are always very efficient. Today the manager was mentoring a new employee and was hands-on and clear on training a new, interested employee on the physical connection of the trailer to my vehicle. No little wait time. Easy in (as above) and easy out thanks to a different employee who was there when I dropped off the trailer. I use them regularly and will continue to do so.Janet C.

I reserved a truck for 7:30am for mobile pickup and it was not ready for me and I was stuck waiting for the store to open at 9am. I had people waiting to help me move for an hour before I could even get the truck. Very disappointed in Uhaul.Justin C.

The Claire did not prepare our van for early self pick up with the mobile app so when we arrived at 8 am we were unable to get our van and waited in the freezing cold parking lot for an hour. The U-Haul customer service was unable to do anything and put us on hold after hearing what was happening and never got back on the phone to talk to us (45 mins) so we had to call again on a second phone. When glee finally got the van, there was another truck blocking our van into the spot so we could leave until the one employee who was there to open could get away from checking other people in and move the truck. We booked for 8 am and didn't leave with the van until 9:20 am. It was all totally unacceptable.BRIAN C.

The storage facility overall did not feel clean, the elevator was often not working, the card pass to get in was difficult to get to work (eventually the door was just left open and that was better). In terms of staff, I just felt sorry for them because there was mostly just one person there so how could they manage the rentals and help people in the store or help with issues getting into the storage facility? They were always nice, but assistance was so slow I sometimes just left and all I wanted to do was have help with my card to get in. Terrible experience at uhaul would not recommend to my worst enemy. Employee working the desk was talking on her personal cell phone the entire time I was trying to get my unit. The unit I reserved was no longer available so I'm not sure what the point of a reservation was. The one open unit was much smaller, dirty and would have to carry my furniture upstairs. The staff is no good nowhere to be found every time I go there I have to wait at least 20 mins just to talk with someone Not only that they charged me an extra 80 dollars for unit that was a suppose to be a month free! The manager (I wish I could remember his name, it started with a J) was super friendly and repeatedly went out of his way to help us. We visited the Norwood location on several occasions to rent 2 trucks and 2 storage units. The location was very busy and he still remembered us each time we came in and worked hard to help out the many customers coming in and out. There were admittedly some glitches along the way, such as our key card not working and the elevator being stuck, but they worked everything out for us quickly and professionally. If I could change anything, I would ask U-Haul to give these guys some more head count so they could get some extra help in these busy and unprecedented times. Place was always dirty. Customers bathroom i.e. inside where the actual storage units are located was never clean and trash all over. Parking lot always had trash. Card reading machines to access my storage unit never worked properly. I complained to management nothing was done.I went to a local competitor who had cheaper prices and cleaner premises.
