Uhaul cancelled my reservation 3 days prior to my move - so I had to rent a truck from Minot ND. This meant I had to hire someone to pick it up for me since it was alot further away than my original reservation location. In addition to it costing me an extra $250 to hire someone, I was charged in US funds instead of Canadian Funds. Fortunately Uhaul recognized their error and sent a check. What is unfortunate is that Uhaul wrote the check to the fellow who I hired. They sent the check to me, verified the charges were made to MY Visa credit card, see it is my email and phone number on the contract, but refuse to write the check to me. In addition, if this was not my contract, how could I get into this account and leave a review? PLEASE write the check made out to me and send it to me, as I was the one who paid the bill. Please let this experience end on a positive note.

I was sent to Steinbach from Winnipeg to pick up a 26' Uhaul and a car hauler only to find out they were closed. I saw the car hauler and truck in the parking lot. I couldn't have it because the place was closed. So I then got sent back to winnipeg for a 20' and a tiny trailer instead of a car hauler. I hired a driver for our 2nd vehicle and had to head back to Winnipeg from Ontario for a second load. I spent an extra $300 in gas and $200 for the driver. Not a good experience at all. Uhaul still made their money so who gives a Shit!!! Thanks for nuthin ??

The instructions on the sign weren’t super clear about how to use the keypad. It was confusing to have to sign in at one station and then sign in at another station to open the door.

The disconnect between the call centre customer service and location customer service is vast. They do not appear to see same information, such as a note that the trailer we reserved was not available at the location we chose. The call centre also said there would be no late charge for returning the trailer when we asked. There is no choice to avoid the call centre as if the location doesn’t answer the call goes to wherever. It was a very frustrating experience and cost an extra $30 in unexpected late charges. The staff at locations were helpful and courteous but the call centre let us down.

I had rented a 26' truck for 12 hours. When the uhaul rep changed my location to where a truck would be available they also changed my time to 10 hours and made me drive all the way back to regent to return the truck! I wanted to return it near charleswood where I moved. I was not happy about that.

Had requested pick up in Steinbach but none available so had to pick up from Winnipeg. Customer service took care of the extra milage for me which was fair. Only thing was I wasnt happy with is that when I bought a lock at the regent location, the attendant failed to tell me it would fit on the truck so it was a waste of money and I had to work into the morning as I had no way to secure my stuff overnight.

The one ramp had a jimmy rigged bolt to hold it from sliding out. Nothing but trouble when in travel. The left light was completely out. No power, had to stop and use car lights. I would shop around for other vendors that rent next time I’m in need of a rental unit

The customer service by a manager at the time named ‘Colton’ was so so depressing and threatful I can never expect.. the rudest person I ever met.. first they canceled my reservation without any notice or confirmation.. then they overcharged me for no reason... on top the manager was so rude .. omg I will never go to this location again ..

Have the vehicles that were booked at the location for the time and duration that they were booked. Have solutions other than ‘sorry, there’s nothing we can do’ Empower the branch to offer solutions rather than forcing customers to be placed on a series of holds seeking resolution. That said, most of the staff were courteous and sympathetic. I get the impression that this situation is forced upon them rather than a consequence of their actions.

It would help to either explain or assist someone with adjusting the side mirrors considering they are manual and hard to adjust when it's just one person picking up the vehicle. Also it would help to point out how to turn off the tow/haul function when driving as I've never driven one of these vehicles before and didn't know where to turn it off.

We reserved a 10x5x8 storage unit, and because of a "glitch" in the system we got a 10x5x6 unit and had to find a second storage location for some items. This location wound up being at my mother in law's basement which is very inconvenient. I work as a project manager and if there is a misunderstanding of the software it should not have been released or the training was in adequate. This is the second time within one year we have had issues. Last year at the same time of year we had a 15' which broke down we wound up being double charged because we needed a second unit, and we never cleared the issues up as no one returned my calls.

Would’ve gave an excellent but I did a one way on a utility trailer to Redmond Seattle. Took me 2.5 hours round trip to drop the trailer off at its designated location. Not long after I discovered there was a U Haul location 10 mins from my location in Redmond. Not happy at all.

My vehicle came equipped with the rotary plug for electrical hook-up. The trailers use the 4 prong plug. I had to buy an adapter for $13 so that I could hookup lights. I had no other option. It would have been nice if they would lend or rent an adapter. They could also supply a wire cutter that could be used to install the 4 prong plug to the customer vehicle. I would rather pay a $5 dollar rental for the adapter, along with a deposit, than have to buy it and use it once.

Specially Keisha, Felicia, the Spanish guy, the guy that transferred my call to Felicia all from USA and the two guys that helped me at Regent location. Also a special thank you to the french CSR lady I spoke to from Winnipeg. Merci Thank you guys for your outstanding services. PS: The other customers service representative in Winnipeg need some training about customer service. This message is for Some of my own home town CSR that refused to rebook my pick up time stating there is no 20’ truck available anytime Sunday, while there is. One thing they need to work on is Empathy not sympathy. Also they need to know that we as customers we are stressed out during moving, so they need to be mindful to that and help people even if they don’t have the same accent.

Im very upset about my experience with Uhaul. I reserved a one-way moving truck 2 weeks in advance and organized movers to move for Sunday July 28 to move to another city. Uhaul contacted less than 48 hours before my move to tell me that they didn't have a truck for me but they had one that I would have to RETURN to the city that I rented from! The person that I was on the phone became short with me as I was only trying to get them to cover half the gas and the insurance because I have to pay double the amount because I have to return it. I didn't even ask them to pay for the amount of gas to take another vehicle to my original city (and waste my friend's time, km's and gas) so that I could get back to the city I was moving to after having returned the Uhaul. I am very frustrated and want to just be compensated for all the extra costs that I had to pay due to this.

Truck was clean other than some paper pieces and a chewed on sucker stick. Counter man told me the tank was 1/2 full, was lower than that. The biggest problem was the front end! Driving at 50 kilometers an hour it was all I could do to keep it in my lane!! I cannot imagine driving the truck on the highway!!! Reported this to the staff checking the vehicle in when we returned it. Other than that they had the truck we wanted at the location we wanted and it was cheaper than the estimate.
