We were scheduled to pickup our equipment at the Kiefer location and were never notified that it would not be there. At the time of pickup in Kiefer we were told we had to go to 61st and Peoria. Instead of spending about $20 in mileage we spent $50 due to the long drive to 61st and Peoria and back. This was a very disappointing experience and we will not be using U-Haul again.Michael S.
Pay your employees a little more to attract and sustain a little higher grade of personnel. Put in some incentives and rewards for the behavior that you want to see more of. The staff seemed nervous like they were being watched by the central location, which in turn made me a little uncomfortable, because now I was being watched too. If there was a local family owned truck or trailer rental facility with good equipment, I would go there instead of U-haul, just like I would go to a good local family owned restaurant instead of a national chain. I also don't think I would want to work for U-haul based on how uncomfortable and controlled the U-haul employees appeared to be. Who wants to be a slave? I understand U-haul has a massive number of locations to keep track and certainly systems and surveillance are needed, and honestly I don't know if I could do any better? It took me 1.5 hours to get the trailer and get out of the door. The first trailer that was assigned was not at the location and the process had to start all over again after I was asked to walk the entire parking lot looking for a unit that was not there. The trailer that I ultimately ended up with had side lights that did not work. Overall this was not a pleasant experience on what was already a stressful day.William B.

The attendant disconnected the trailer and never checked the trailer in charging my account a extra $130.00 This money was need for other things and was taken out of my account . Double check trailer lights are in working order before customers rent them. The trailer I rented the right side brake and turn signal light were out. The lady asked if I was comfortable driving with it/ if I wasn't we could switch trailers.I was already hooked up to it and to cause less hassle for both of us I said it was fine since I knew the car I was gonna be towing was low enough you could still see my truck lightsRiley B.

Second time rented from this location in the last few months. One was our son and the other us. Both times were difficult. On first rental, showed up to get the moving truck and after confusion was told to go to Broken Arrow to obtain the rental. This resulted in several extra hours and considerable more cost because of the additional mileage. This time, showed up at appointed time and told no trailer and would have to go to another location. The employee was overwhelmed and stated that I had received a text or email informing of the location change. The time was 4:30 PM, and closing. Did not recall receiving any notification so checked email and text with zero communication. Exasperated, the employee went outside and determined by surprise that the trailer had been returned and was available. When connecting the trailer, it was obvious the trailer had been in the same position for considerable time because the trailer tongue had a pile of leaves that had accumulated around the tongue. Additionally, the ball hitch receiver definitely had an issue because it was extremely difficult to remove the hitch during the rental. A truck jack had to be used to remove the hitch from my truck. Unfortunately, UHaul realizes they are the only real game in town and an take advantage of customers that need a moving truck or trailer. Would never use again if other viable options.Charles R.

This facility is in a rough area of town with high security risks. Windows get smashed, people get robbed, people get shot and lots of gang activity. Not to mention the hours close sooner then listed due to the crime and area. I moved out over a year ago and when I asked how to close my account I was told to send an email which I did. It has been a year and several times I have called and notified that I left state and closed out before I left, yet you keep charging me. Everytime I talk to someone, they are new. The crime is so bad that staff don't stay long so obviously messages don't get passed down. I left my keys to my lock and everything when I moved in April 2022.Jennifer S. | Overall Experience

Hire new staff. Went in to ask if there were furniture pads and the guy at the front yelled at us and forced us to check in in the front. I said I wanted to use the app and he wouldn't let me. The text asking me to inspect the unit arrived with another text thanking me for renting. I never saw the inspection text. When I filled the van up to full as required per the sheet you gave me, it required 6.6 gallons- AN AMAZING AMOUNT FOR ONLY DRIVING 23 MILES! Not only did you manager tell me it was impossible to even do an on-store credit on future rentals- he told me to have a nice day and hung up the phone. Hello, I tried to do the closing procedures on the 20 ft. U-Haul that I rented for February 5 and I did turn my truck in at 8:39 pm. I tried going online the website is just not being cooperative and they want to charge me for not doing that procedure online which I think is total bullshit, I think this is poor customer service we turn the truck in we locked it up. Apparently there was little bit of things in the back of the truck. ( little pieces of wood) Nothing terrible whatever drop the key in the night box, etc. you can see me pulling into the property on the cameras if you guys even got any cameras, which I think is totally unfair that you guys charge me an extra fees on this, you guys need to look into this and I would appreciate my money back I will never use you again everMarie S.

When I first arrived, my $99.00 reservation was not honored. I had movers waiting on me so I had to pay $139.00 while no Manager was on-site to help the situation. I was also told that they did not honor the free 1st month rent after paying over $1400.00 for the truck. Then once moved in I met with Mark Hartley the manager who advised that the reservation that i I had was for a 2nd story unit He said i could move into a the 2nd story unit but the 1st story unit was all ready loaded. Witch meant that I woul have to pay movers again to move at my expense. I did get a free month rent for compensation for the mix-up. In April and in June I went to the storage unit to retrieve some boxes. The Air Conditioner was out and it was over 100 degrees inside the Climate controlled unit. I made it aware to the people working there and thy advised that the AC was broken without an ETA as when it would be fixed. This happened several times. On July 28, 2022, I went back to retrieve more boxes and found the Air Conditioner leaking and had another a 1/4 of an inch of water which had gotten under the door of my unit A4190 along with other Units as well.i notified Rita working jn the office. She advised that she had told Mark Hartley about this. So I came to the unit for what I thought would be a few minutes that lasted 2 1/2 hours soaking up water out of my unit with no help from management. Jim Smith was notified and finally Mr Hartley along with Rita came to help. I only received help after asking and the only compensation I received was another free month's rent. THIS MANAGEMENT IS THE WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE THAT I HAVE ERVER EXPERIENCED. MR. SMITH DID CALL ME BACK AND I ADVISED HIM OF THIS AND HE WAS NOT VERY HELPFUL. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH UHAUL AGAIN AND WILL REFER ALL OF MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO STAY AWAY FROM UHAUL. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE TO HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY LIFE. After arriving at 6105 S Peoria there was only one person working with absolutely no knowledge of Uhaul Storage and pocilicies. Was told that they did not honor the free one month rental and was quoted 139.00 for the same Storage room that I had a reservation for at 99.00 per month. After a brief phone call he advised he could Not help me that they did not honor the quote or reservation. This unit did not honor my 1st month room free. They did not have the room available the same as described on the app. They had attitude. The manager kept saying what he wouldn't do via telephone but made no effort to resolve directly. They said I could dispute with customer service. While the location of this storage facility is not ideal, the manager Mark is beyond helpful. I live out of state and I feel so much better knowing Mark is watching over things here. He let me know immediately when someone cut my lock off my unit. He sent me pictures to help me determine if anything had been taken. And he replaced the lock on it for me. All of this was above and beyond and so helpful as I was not in a position to come back to Tulsa at the time. When I did make it back to Tulsa he took the time to walk with me to my unit to double check everything was as it should be. My unit was broken into during business hours and the agent removed my insurance from my reservation without being asked to therefore eliminating them the insurance the agent remembered I should have had and I was told it was an error in their end and it would be corrected only to get a non sympathetic call from the GM telling me there was nothing to be done and it's a loss I have to recover. There's no security no one to run of solicitors sitting around watching you unload.
