The truck wouldn't go out no more than 20 miles and it need a new transmissionTianya G.
Have the equipment I reserved at the location I reserved it. I had to drive 12 miles instead of less than 1 to pick up the truck, then 5 miles from there to pick up the tow dolly, then 5 miles BACK to where I had to leave my car when I picked up the truck to hook it up, then 12 miles back to load up the truck. And at the location where I picked up the truck, no one knew how to help me with securing my car to the tow dolly. All told I spent 2.5 hours getting the equipment, which should have taken about 45 minutes. What good is a reservation???Stan M.

I recommend that, the pre-check-out equipment review be done with both the client and the customer present (instead of having the customer upload pictures and complete the check out on his/her own). The truck I rented had sesame seed oil on the floor of the trailer that spread over the front half of the truck and was on the step-up. It smelled strongly and was slippery. I did not discover this until after I had already taken pictures of all of the rest of the truck as part of the self check-in, using up 15 minutes of my rental for that process. A very helpful attendee offered to try to find a different truck. As we were already almost 30 minutes into the rental period at that point (counting counter-wait-time and self check-in time), I asked for blankets to cover the dirty floor. The very helpful attendee found several that I could use. If the attendee and I had done the check-in together, it would have gone faster and there would have been more time to find a different truck or alter the rental return. The attendants were very helpful at this location. I give full credit for that. The truck operated well.Eric W.

Check the vehicles before renting them out to customers. The vehicle I rented had a broken pulley and I couldn't close the rear door after loading it, and had to wait almost three hours for road side assistance to arrive. Very poor service and the vehicles were below standard.BRUCE J.
The drop off location noted on the email confirmation was 7203 Michigan Road in Indianapolis, which was a gas station not a uhaul store. It took two of us on two phones an hour to find someone who could tell us where to take the truck. It was very frustrating to not be able to talk to a human being to get the help we needed. It was stressful. We decided based on this experience alone that we would never, never call uhaul again. I chose "not applicable" because I didn't want to say anything about the actual drop off location we eventually used. They were nice enough but seemed more like robots just punching the same buttons they always push and weren't able to treat us like human beings. We got the truck turned in, so again, we have nothing to complain about.Shane P.

Called customer service several times and waited on hold for 20 mins at a time. Called customer service on the day of my scheduled pick up to confirm all details. Showed up to pick up my truck at a location 30 mins from my house (not the closest location) at the scheduled time and my truck wasn't there. And it wouldn't be there for another 2 hours. They blamed it on a system glitch. Sent me to another location to pick up a different truck. They said they would give me a discount for my run around but they didn't. Very poor customer service. The place was a complete mess. Debris and trash on ground. The check-in attendant told me to take the 6x12 trailer to the back and unhook myself. Not even checking the condition of the trailer or removing the furniture dolly I rented... Finally the clerk from inside came out to offer assistance. He was wearing a blue long sleeve shirt that said "drugs" across the chest. He was pleasant and offered to check me in and help disconnect the trailer. I would never use this location again.Robert M.

I was misinformed about the drop off locations, I told Uhaul corporate of my bad experience with this trailer and told them I wanted to drop off early, I spoke with a corporate manager and he told me how to drop off unit and was assured I wouldn't receive a charge. I took several photos and filled out the only drop off form. Yet this morning I still received a charge. I expected this 45$ be refunded or else I'm calling a lawyer!Paul J.
Train the employees to have better customer service. I walked in only to wait 10 minutes when I clearly hear someone in the back. I hit the bell twice and the employee still didn't come out. I called the store while I was standing inside the location and the employee refused to pick up the phone. I waited some time and then hit the bell again, finally, the employee came out. Once I finally checked out, he gave me the keys and said the van is outside. I said uhmm.. which van? Which he responded outside on the right. I walk outside and see the van still has the advertising cardboard in the window. I walked back in and ask him what I should do with the sign, he suggested just throw it in the back. The truck itself was great and just what I needed but the employee training will definitely cost you customers in the future.KENYON W.
The staff member that helped me was great. The younger guy that was there rented the truck I was there to pickup to someone else while I was waiting for the key. The vehicle I was given I was told hadn't been cleaned but I had already been there an hour so I said I would take it. The younger guy went to get it and drove entirely too fast for anyone's safety through the parking lot. The truck had clearly been involved in an accident with front end damage and damage down the entire passenger side. I asked if that needed to be included in my pickup information and was told no. I took pictures just incase. The inside was very dirty and smelled terrible. Thankfully I did not need it for very long. The passenger side damage rubbed on the front tire when turning. The customer service of the front desk staff was amazing, the truck we rented was not. It was dirty, smelled like smoke, the floors and interior were covered in food crumbs and sticky spilled drinks. Not to mention the transmission and steering were a mess.Caroline C.
What is the point of reserving something if it's not available to use when needed? Extremely frustrating to be left stranded needing equipment that was ordered. Staff had zero care in the world about the experience, or anything for that matter. I can't recommend this location, this was my second run-in with them. This uhaul location it utterly atrocious. Our ubox was not delivered nor picked up on time. Communicating with any employee at the location was nearly impossible. Between my husband and I, we spent >7 hours on the phone on hold, attempting to speak to someone who could provide us with information on when our box would be delivered and picked up. We left several messages for management to get in contact with us. We were never contacted. We only managed to get our ubox picked up by arriving in person to the store and demanding a pick up. When arriving in store, the employee working with us was clearly high on drugs, which makes sense why we could never get anything productive to happen over the phone. Compared to the uhaul location in Hayward, California where we loaded the ubox, this location in Indianapolis was pitiful. And so exhausting and stressful to deal with. Retrospectively I wish we had never rented a ubox, and I am tempted to post this review everywhere online so that nobody else does either.Lucy K.

We had problems with the reservation -- made on line and modified in person weeks in advance -- and then were given only the ignition key and not the separate key to the cab doors. We locked to doors after parking and could not get back into the truck to drive it. This is why we called Roadside Assistance. The key fob with both keys (cab and ignition) were in a "spare key" box under the counter the next day (we had a 3-day rental) although they had been hanging behind the counter the day we picked up the truck. Clearly the person who served us didn't know which keys were which, having been distracted by a personal call on his cell phone. We had to wait well over 2 hrs to get Roadside Assistance to unlock the truck.. We didn't get home until after 2:00 a.m. (over 3 hrs late). Your staff should know which keys go to which trucks (they're labeled). They should know if trucks require 1 or 2 keys. They should use critical thinking skills. The worst experience ever.DANIEL S.

My ubox took a month to be delivered. The first delivery was to be June 1O th and then the 11th , and that wasn't to be . No one from uhual called to give me delivery window so I called them and come to find out was told they couldn't find a driver to get it here. It finally was delivered on June 19th , 8days late and in uhual contract it says that you are to get $50 for each day it doesn't get delivered, so I called and complained and customer service person agreed that I should get $450back and that she would take care of it , yeah right, next day $200 refund was given to me. Called again and told a new customer service person the facts, I asked to speak to her manager and for some reason that wouldn't happen. She put. Me on hold for far to long and came back on saying Monae her manager said she would give me $200 more. I am still owed $150 and called again and I am mysteriously hung up on every time I call and tell a customer service person what I'm calling about. It's dishonest what uhual is doing, there is no apology for what happened. It's hard to set up housekeeping when you don't get your things for a month. If I hadn't called and told them I wanted a refund it would never have happened as they said and offered me nothing for all my trouble. In the future I certainly will not give uhual my business, I will use some one else most definitelycvarthy S.

Reserved a 20 foot truck 3 weeks in advance, did it on line. Original pick up location was changed a couple days before pickup. It was farther away. Went on Saturday morning as per reservation and the location did not have a 20. They told me I could go 70 miles away to another location to get one. That wouldn't work because I had people scheduled to help load and help unload at my scheduled drop of town. I had a reservation, it was useless, waste of my time. Luckily the two girls working that morning were able to help me out with a smaller in town truck and let me drop it in my destination town. We used the truck and peoples cars to complete the move.Barry P.

Ordered a truck, and it was not on site unfortunately due to someone over-extending their rental. We were given a bigger truck. While we appreciate not having to wait for a truck, t made things a little more difficult to move than we thought since we then had to find parking and maneuver this much bigger truck in a packed apartment complex full of cars. The staff at the facility were so helpful. There was a problem with my access card and staff members Stony and Jesus were always available to open the storage room and Stony put in great effort to investigate the problem by reaching out to his boss and then the supervisor above his boss too! So a huge shout out to the staff for being helpful. Monet was the agent who helped us secure the storage room and she was friendly and quick to get the room assigned so we could start moving in. The hallways are very well lit and there was even a cart we could use to move things into our storage unit.
