The U-Box location in Boston is entirely under-staffed and mistake prone. We stored our box for two days and were done with the whole process; yet we received recurring charges a month later. The wonderful, yet terribly overworked, gentleman on site insisted that the location will be closed much earlier than what the website suggests, forcing us to rush through the loading and unloading process. At the end, once the recurring charges are reversed, I would be willing to deal with U-Haul and U-Box again but simply because I am not sure there are competing organizations with any better track record.

The employees were moving at a snail's pace. Waiting in line for over an hour, missing my reservation time solely because the people working there had no sense of urgency and would give attitude towards customers that are rightfully frustrated is unacceptable behavior. Shame on the people working the registers for pretending as if they were doing no wrong.

Had to wait over an hour in line. Extremely slow service, which seemed to be due to bad WiFi or computers. Either way, nobody rents a uhual planning to spend half their day renting the uhual. The rental is the least of our worries and having to waste close to two hours (that I needed to pack and travel) really put a bad taste in my mouth. Next move I’m using a different rental service.

Unfortunately, the freight elevators were not functional when we were moving our items from storage.

I had to use an elevator, both were not working, no one came to fix the issue for ~45 min, I had to transport all of my stuff (including carts) down cramped stairwell because of employee negligence.

Rats got into my stuff and destroyed my mattress pad as well as some of my school books and other things. I ended up throwing a lot of my stuff out. Not great for a college student living on a budget.

Design storage units that can hold an entire household without the consumer having to buy multiply units to hold all that they are storing, or allow a consumer to look at the unit, not the displays.

Move out process was easy with plenty of carts for loading up. Unfortunately they do NOT prorate. So, don’t plan on getting any money back even if you move out a few days into your month.

Someone attempted to break in my storage unit. The latch on my unit was grinded using a power tool. I reported it and they said they would call me to replace the latch. No call. Next day I moved out.

I saw a rat in the basement , and there was oil from a unit that leaked under the wall and onto the floor of my basement unit. In my unit on the second floor, we found a rat's nest under my sofa.
