Nobody at the front desk new what they were doing except for one person. After setting me up with a storage unit I was informed that I would have to carry my belongings up stairs. I can't climb stairs let alone with boxes in my hands. When I check my bank statement I saw that I was charged for the unit. So I called and after a half an hour and being transferred to another person I was told that my account would be credited back in a week. Extremely unhappyAmelia B. | Overall Experience

Well not charging them for things they didn't do. Then arguing with them about it. Putting them on hold to talk to the manager and being left in hold for 25 min. Then i hung up and called back and was put on hold for another 20 so i just sent a email. It was only 9 in gas but i sent the picture of how much gas was in it along with the milage. I drove 27 miles and put in 2.5 gallons in. Returned it with more gas then was in it. Told the super nice guy who I returned it to. Went in side as i didnt use as much milage as i thought. No problem. No problem we will email you receipt. Then charge me for gas on top of it.Tanya M.

There was a trainee working the check-in desk, he was the only person there. He had to make several calls to learn how to process reservations. My wait was about 20 minutes and there was a substantial line waiting behind me. The guys outside that helped with equipment did a great job.Tony C.

I rent over 200 U-Hauls a year around DFW and I have to say that today's experience at the Garland location was one of my best over many years. Unfortunately I can't remember the gentleman's name that helped me out today with my rental but he knew his job, he got me in and out quick and he was very courteous. Already asked me what my reservation name was and sent me the link to upload my DL while he was still helping another customer at the desk. Can anybody do that yes does everybody do that absolutely not most people don't have the forethought to operate that way.ROBERT G.
Incredibly unhelpful staff. I got charged double and I clicked on the app that the charges were wrong yet I haven't heard from anyone to fix it. I will buy a trailer before I use uhaul againChad D.
This was a terrible experience overall. I went to my unit to take off the lock and officially move out and what should have taken 5 minutes took over and hour. There were uhaul customers with moving trucks in the driving lane at the facility I was in blocking the exit. I was unable to get out of the facility and they refused to move. I tried to call the customer service team at the specific office I was at and they apparently do not have a direct line so I was talking to some at uhaul "corporate" that was 100% unhelpful. He was trying to get ahold of the workers on site, but was unsuccessful. We stayed on the phone for over 30 minutes in silence while he "waited". I was unable to find another exit for me and my daughter. She was starving, had a dirty diaper, and was screaming during the entire time because what it thought was going to be a few minutes was an hour. Completely unacceptable.LARRY C. | Overall Experience

The first vehicle - the drivers door wouldn't shut and the check engine light was in so I told them I wanted a different truck. The 2nd truck- once we got to the place where we were loading and opened the back- there was mud Al all over the door and also on the ramp.Eileen P.

I received a bill for $150 in tickets and toll violations 1 month after I turned in my car carrier rental, and then automatically deducted after I replied to the email that was provided to challenge the charges which wasn't replied to for weeks. It took 3 weeks to get reimbursed for the the error. Then I received several phone calls 3 months after I turned it in telling me that I didn't turn in the car carrier. I had to explain the story to 3 different people. When I turned the truck exactly where I was told to leave it and I put the keys exactly where the paperwork told me to put them, I get several calls the next morning that the staff could not find the keys and the truck was blocking their way. I'm disappointed how much hassle I got after paying Almost $2,000 for the rental and following all the directions to the T so as not to get some hidden charges uhaul is known for. I probably will not use uhaul in the future if I can avoid it.TRAVIS N.

The entrance is a one way and there isn't enough parking for your truck to get your stuff in the storage. I had a hard time finding somewhere to park cause you can only park to one side. It horrible!!!SHATONDA M. | First Impressions

Check in took longer than desired. Associate needed to complete it seemed more interested in finishing a conversation first. Then that extra time taken to check in was taken away from my reservation time. Truck had a myriad of small issues, including a broken gas cap, low tires, low fuel level at pick up and a ticking sound from the engine that concerned me. Gate code to get inside to storage area to clean out a unit needed associates to open. They tried not to let my help inside. The rep that was supposed to bring my truck up to the pick up area instead told me to go to the lot and get the truck myself, even though it was pinned between two other trucks. I've rented from various U-Haul locations since 1995 and this was among the more unsatisfactory experiences I've ever had. Rented from this location one time before and it was much better.Patrick P.

Although there was no personal interaction since the timing was after business hours, the restrooms were completely blocked off by huge storage containers and there wasn't a lock provided (inside my storage unit) as described in the package I purchased. Need to staff up to handle the lines of people. Also, gave me the vehicle with only a 1/4 of a tank (which was fine and was disclosed) but then wanted to charge me $30 in addition to the premium rate for each gallon of gasoline necessary to bring the gas level up to a 1/4 tank. I offered to pay for whatever amount of gas was necessary to bring the gas level to a 1/4 tank but apparently U-Haul's policy is to charge you an additional $30 if you bring the vehicle back with less than a 1/4 tank. I ended up taking the vehicle to a gas station to fill up the tank but U-Haul's policy is ridiculous especially if they are giving you the vehicle with just 1/4 tank to start with! Vanessa constantly took home my unit key on several occasions. I spoke with Anna, the GM, and she wasn't anymore help then anyone else I spoke with. My experience was horrible and I would never use them again or advise anyone else to use them either. Actually want to seek legal services for my situation. It states the facility is open 24 hours, but that's only if the keys are available for your unit and not off property with the manager. I was never given an explanation as to why the manager Vanessa had my unit keys in her possession off duty. Very unprofessional place of business and poor customer service. I took off work to move, hired movers, and got a I haul to move just to be told to wait until Monday because the manager was out due to a family emergency. I understand things happen, but what I don't understand is why my unit key wasn't there? Why she took it with her? I went to the facility three times and all three times they were not there. I was contacted the day prior because the original location did not have the equipment I requested, and was asked if I would move to another. That was fine, but then the second location did not have the equipment when I came to pick it up. They were also not polite or helpful. They moved me to van that was out of gas and had not been cleaned after the last renter. This was the worst experience I have ever had from a rental location and I will never visit this establishment again. I will also now be looking for alternatives to U-Haul the next time I need equipment.MASON R.

Returned 4x8 trailer the morning after rental to get a larger one, had to pay for both. Frustrating for the amount of time I had it and the situation just needed larger unit. Lady that rented it to me was rude, like I was imposing on her by doing business there. Then when I went to drop off she had done the rental paperwork wrong and the drop off location had to fix it while I waited. Expensive, frustrating process all together.KEITH M.

Give a customer time to come and pick up the truck before canceling a order and making it more of a problem to get to that location cause you already have it scheduled to pick up near your house and then y'all change and then since I wasn't on time you cancel after me telling the lady I would pick up between 10am and noon so then I have to travel miles out of my way to actually get the truck. So you need to be mindful of people's circumstances before canceling. Have a time limit: like if a person supposed to be there at 10 give them til 12:00. Your pricing is too high compared to others and you advertise one price that when you want to book a unit, you find that the cheaper price is upstairs in the back and your sign says insurance is optional but you are then told that it is mandatory and the cost is not based on unit size and is very over priced for the amount of coverage. Once we had all our things loaded into the Uhaul and 4 other vehicles full with things as well, we drove from OC to the storage unit, it had a padlock on it. Apparently the clerk forgot to have the lock taken off. She was nice but trying to help to many people at one time. We had to bring the Uhaul to my mom's house until the next day. We paid 5 people to help load and unload for nothing. We tried calling the General Manager but she wouldn't answer, according to her, her phone was uncharged. The gentlemen named Phillip was who I had the pleasure of being helped by. He was killing it at the counter in the morning. He was helping two customers at a time, as well as directing the staff on where to go and what to do. The lady in the green shirt could have learned a thing or two from him. He was so nice that I even got a storage unit from him after being quoted a cheaper rate else where. Someone give this guy a raise! The check in process was also smooth.
