Worst experience by far, where do I begin Let's see well For starters who in their right mind rents out a stolen U-Haul to Their customers, it just goes to show how negligent the employees of the work place can be, Personally I don't wish it on aonyone else; to be pulled over by Law-enforcement and have guns and automatics weapons drawn to your face and treated as to be the suspect of the case. I can't think of another traumatic Experience I've had in my life that even comes close to this one, not to mention The lack of customer service when it comes to trying to get in contact with a representative when calling the job site. Needless to say, In the future to come I'm inclined to never giving my business to what once seemed to be a well organized & competent household moving-truck company. When someone accidentally leaves over $100 in professional moving blankets and a customers cowhide rug in the back you CALL your customer and say " Excuse me Mr. Garic, it looks like you left some items in the back of the truck" . I then say thank you and that I appreciate you looking out for me. You don't bag them up and throw them in the trash, without checking, when they're obviously quality items. Everything you do is based on my phone number but you can't call me when I leave some stuff in the back of the truck on accident and let me know that I made a mistake. I'm sorry it was a hundred degrees that day and I was a little out of it. I would hope that somewhere I rent trucks from probably a hundred times a year for the past 4 years would look out for me a little bit better than that.Robert G.

Claud was a delight to work with during the rental process. And Alan was very patient with me as I backed the trailer in where it belonged. You have a great crew here! It took me a bit longer than normal. I learned how to back a trailer when I was 15. I'm 58 but I haven't done it with a stick shift since I was 17. Thanks Alan!geoffery S.

This team was extremely unprofessional at many points. They messed me up very badly at the beginning of my rental and I was told by the GM that the company's Marketing Company President said to not give me any refund. It was a terrible experience at the beginning and because of that I didn't want to pay 172 for 8 days of storage rental. I was told that I need to pay it all except for a late fee or I wouldn't be able to retrieve my items. I need better service here but I would never recommend this a UHaul. They put my life in danger by knowingly giving me a truck that was down for repair for it's brakes. Do not go to this location. We signed up on the phone at the main call center, and arranged to pick up my 26 ft truck from the LBJ location. The truck was in excellent condition, drove great. Easy to drive, relatively speaking. It's not a car â€" much longer and you do have to be careful if maneuvering in close quarters, or in steep inclines due to the long wheelbase and truck length. But the service was good and everything worked out well.Steve H.

For the last month I've had nothing but problems. First my reservation was canceled after texting saying that the truck would be ready the next day, then reimbursement of gas issues after being told something different to accusing my staff that they did not return the truck without actually looking on your lot to see that it was there. No one is every available when time to return. You open at 7 am I get a reservation for 8 am when going to pick it up we are told it's gong to be a min as the computers is not up yet which keep us from being at our pick-up appointment on time.I could say much more however this is enough to know why i'm rating this location as I did.Michael J.

More accuracy on inventory! We are sent to two different locations after pur first reservation was not at the location we were told it was at. Then we get to the last location where supposedly they had two available and that was not accurate. Was finally given a totally different trailer than the one i had reserved. When I went to the equipment drop off I was told to go around the back. Went around the back there was nothing to direct me anywhere or anyone to help me. I go into the store there's a long line with only 1 person working the counter. After 45 minutes in line I was told that I had to go outside and find someone because they were only for renting the vehicles. Go back outside looking for someone. I did find someone but was ignored until they finished what they were doing and until I finally had enough and asked them who was going to unhook the trailer from my truck. To which they said they thought that I was picking up equipment instead of dropping off equipment. I stated that myself and my truck are good but we can't haul 2 trailers at a time. I was then told to back it into a space and drop it off to which I told him that there was no way that I was going to do that with people driving around and behind. I was told that I would need to take the trailer back up front to the equipment drop off. The exit went through a construction area or should I say the construction area spilled into the exit to which I picked up some nails and later had to purchase 3 tires at $450 each plus labor. It took the guy 30 minutes and my help getting the trailer off because they had no tools. This trailer rental was more costly than if I had just rented a moving van and flew home; which I can't do because of my cancer treatments and the major surgery I had on my neck. So suffice it to say I will never rent anything from Uhaul again. Nor will I ever recommend Uhaul to anyone.Rachel A.

I selected mobile check in to prevent myself from having to go into the office, wait in line, and have someone issue me the keys. When I arrived on location, the mobile check in button looped after I pressed â€œcontinueâ€ and reverted me back to the previous screen. We scheduled pickup for 6am at another location and we're informed that Friday that we were being shifted to a new location. Note we schedule reservation on May 8. Also not told that instead of 15ft we were now given 20ft. Showed up at 6am and keys not in designated location. Called 24 line and told to wait until store opened. We did and gentlemen at counter was rude. When I told him about the keys he didn't even look up from computer and said â€œthey're there, I guaranteeâ€ and he had someone pull truck up. When guy pulled up I asked him about the lock and he said that when he got in at 8am he had to go find them because they were misplaced. So guy at counter was incorrect. First, this was NOT the location I had chosen for dropping off the uhaulâ€¦I chose a location in Dallas and uhaul changed it to Garland, over 30 minutes away and cost me more time and money. When I called to try to change the location back, it was a 40 minute wait. The Garland location was confusing, with a lot of trucks and people trying to get trucks with no one there. Frankly, I will not use uhaul again based upon the poor customer service and unauthorized change and charges associated with uhaul changing my drop off location.Daniel C.

They didn't seem to know what they had on hand or where. Agents carried on their conversation while I stood at the desk waiting to be acknowledged, as the only customer in the facility. I made a reservation online, however the website wouldn't let me pick a drop off location near my house, only ones near garland, and when I asked the agent at the desk to fix that, he checked his work schedule (not sure why) and said â€œI can't, I'm the only one that will be here tomorrowâ€. I'm not sure what that had to do with it but it seemed he meant if I dropped it off at a uhaul near my home in south Dallas he would have to go get it, and either didn't want to, or uhaul has it so short staffed there that he couldn't. So I had to drive 40 minutes back up to garland from south Dallas to drop it back off, when there's a uhaul place less than a mile from my house. I was simply picking something up in garland and needed to transport it to Dallas. Overall the facility was fine, it just seems like the people working there didn't want to help me, didn't care if I gave them my business, and didn't care about what I was trying to accomplish or telling them. Either they are bad employees, or more likely, they are overworked from a lack of adequate staffing. I'm not sure I'll be using uhaul again.Christopher B.

I got this storage in July of last year. And had it to date I've had issues 2 times which wasn't my doing. No one seems to know what happened. First issue my lock was change and like I said no one knew what happened, so they gave me another lock. Second issue I was told led once I got an email asking me to give feedback on my move out (which was a surprise to me). So I called and the lady told me that I moved out and into another locker which was not true so another issue with someone. Again nobody knows what happened smh. So they moved me back into the original locker and then they go up on the locker like it was my fault. They just went up the same month this happened. I have never been late and some months I even paid early I guess the only thing I did wrong was paying my Locker fee on time smh. To this day no one has contact me about this issue. I was there for about six months and they increased the rent prices. The storage unit has no light. When I moved out there was a unoccupied vehicle in front of the ramp and I could not access my unit. The office staff advised that it's normal for homeless people to sleep in their storage units and vehicles and that they couldn't do anything about it! Terrible experience workers were not helpful and not friendly. It was difficult to reach anyone by phone at this facility. Was unable to get into the storage unit several times because the key cards were not working and workers took forever to open the gates. Several staff were rude and there is always a long wait. Storage hours are not long enough or fair unless you pay more for 24 hour storage. this was a horrible experience i will never use this company again the only reason uhaul stays open is because there are few storage companies around. Customer service call center is also terrible to i called to make a payment on my storage unit the worker stated she processed my payment well turns around she didn't and I had to pay late fees. Nobody at the front desk new what they were doing except for one person. After setting me up with a storage unit I was informed that I would have to carry my belongings up stairs. I can't climb stairs let alone with boxes in my hands. When I check my bank statement I saw that I was charged for the unit. This was a terrible experience overall. I went to my unit to take off the lock and officially move out and what should have taken 5 minutes took over and hour. There were uhaul customers with moving trucks in the driving lane at the facility I was in blocking the exit. I was unable to get out of the facility and they refused to move. I tried to call the customer service team at the specific office I was at and they apparently do not have a direct line so I was talking to some at uhaul "corporate" that was 100% unhelpful. He was trying to get ahold of the workers on site, but was unsuccessful. We stayed on the phone for over 30 minutes in silence while he "waited". I was unable to find another exit for me and my daughter. She was starving, had a dirty diaper, and was screaming during the entire time because what it thought was going to be a few minutes was an hour. Completely unacceptable.LARRY C. | Overall Experience

Vanessa constantly took home my unit key on several occasions. I spoke with Anna, the GM, and she wasn't anymore help then anyone else I spoke with. My experience was horrible and I would never use them again or advise anyone else to use them either. Actually want to seek legal services for my situation. It states the facility is open 24 hours, but that's only if the keys are available for your unit and not off property with the manager. I was never given an explanation as to why the manager Vanessa had my unit keys in her possession off duty. Very unprofessional place of business and poor customer service. I took off work to move, hired movers, and got a I haul to move just to be told to wait until Monday because the manager was out due to a family emergency. I understand things happen, but what I don't understand is why my unit key wasn't there? Why she took it with her? I went to the facility three times and all three times they were not there. Your pricing is too high compared to others and you advertise one price that when you want to book a unit, you find that the cheaper price is upstairs in the back and your sign says insurance is optional but you are then told that it is mandatory and the cost is not based on unit size and is very over priced for the amount of coverage. When I moved in it took 45min-1 hr to get the facilities lock off of the door so I could move stuff in. Very inconvienient. Their are no lights in the unit, so I used my phone light. My phone ended up falling and breaking the screen. If there was ample light, I wouldn't have had to use my phone, and the screen wouldn't have cracked ($200 break). When moving in, there were several loaded trailers sitting in the lanes to park in. Made it very difficult to park the 20 foot truck I rented. Why did those trailers not have a storage? They were just sitting in the way. I won't be back to this storage or rent trucks here ever again. Very bad experience all around.Matthew B. | Overall Experience

When I moved my things out they continued, for months, emailing me and telling me that I had a bill due. I called several times and spoke with several different people about getting the situation resolved and no one fixed the issue. Then I was told that my belongings were going to be auctioned and I don't understand why or how because I had already moved everything and paid my bills in May. Not enough personnel working at front counter. VERY SLOW SERVICE. One person working, with several people standing around. Storage unit was almost impossible to access. Parking/unloading area crowded with big storage pods. Security gates to storage area were open most of the day. The cancellation process was horrendous. You can't cancel online & when you call, no one can help you. I called twice & had to drive to the facility to cancel. The whole process too much of my time. Once we had all our things loaded into the Uhaul and 4 other vehicles full with things as well, we drove from OC to the storage unit, it had a padlock on it. Apparently the clerk forgot to have the lock taken off. She was nice but trying to help to many people at one time. We had to bring the Uhaul to my mom's house until the next day. We paid 5 people to help load and unload for nothing. We tried calling the General Manager but she wouldn't answer, according to her, her phone was uncharged. We only needed the storage unit for 2 weeks but had to pay for a month. The GM did let us have the truck all day today and a free lock.Cecelia L. | First Impressions

My unit was blocked by a truck and could not be accessed. Was told by the manager to come back tomorrow because they had no way to move it. Not sure how this is acceptable. The gentlemen named Phillip was who I had the pleasure of being helped by. He was killing it at the counter in the morning. He was helping two customers at a time, as well as directing the staff on where to go and what to do. The lady in the green shirt could have learned a thing or two from him. He was so nice that I even got a storage unit from him after being quoted a cheaper rate else where. Someone give this guy a raise! The check in process was also smooth.
