This location is easy to get to and the people I've encountered there are wonderful. My only comment for improvement is to try and keep the lot a bit cleaner. I got there at about 7:30 am and there was quite a bit of debris. I moved one small metal gear-like object to the side out of way of people driving through. I didn't closely examine the other stuff I saw, but worried there was something that could damage tires.

Have all of the items ordered and have the equipment where pick-up is scheduled. We were shorted blankets and asked if we could stop at the original pick-up location to get more and we were told that UHAULs are independant and don't work together.

It went mostly Ok, except that the after hours return process is terrible. It is super involved on your phone. The expectation is that you have a smart phone. If you didn't have a smart phone you'd be screwed. Also whenever using the app it cuts you out and says session timed out. That happens constantly.

I would say they were helpful but apparently the man that checked me back in did not so it correctly and you claimed I stole the trailer. After an investigation through the Mt. We received a 10-foot truck with a broken back door latch that popped completely open on the Ravenel bridge/freeway. It was a miracle nothing no one was hurt and nothing fell out. Thank goodness it wasn't full. This was our third trip in a row, as we are moving. Cars were honking and telling us our truck was back door open. We got off at the first exit shut the door and slowly made our way to the King St U-Haul. Surprise, surprise no one there cared. What they did care about was, we were quite upset which seemed to offend them. They accused us of dIsrespecting them. It's clear they don't know the definition of the word. Giving us a broken truck you haven't checked properly is disrespectful. By giving us a broken truck U-Haul endangered our lives, the lives of other traveler and our personal property. No one apologized. In fact the girl at the counter said nothing was wrong with the truck and she wasn't going for apologize for something she didn't do. What? We have been renting U-Haul trucks for thirty years. We know how to latch the door. They gave us a broken, dirty truck. Even the visors were broken and kept falling down. This property doesn't check or maintain their equipment and puts customers lives in danger. And they really don't care.

I had a hard time leaving Augusta Georgia. The U-Haul facility in Augusta didn't have the truck that I reserved. I had to go to two different U-Haul facilities just to get a truck and a hitch for my car. But when I got to Charleston I met Mike. He works at the King Street U-Haul facility. He was very instrumental in making the rest of my move smooth. My daughter nickname him Magic Mike. People like Magic Mike Elijah and TJ are hard to come by.

A couple of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Several others have no concept of the importance of the customer experience (they are "Debbie Downers") and the customer leaves feeling that they are not important to the company. These employees fail to understand that the money they are paid comes ONLY from the customer and that they work for the customer. They undermine the business and prevent it from standing out as a great place to do business with.

While the unit was not found to be as I reserved online this was not the issue of the King St staff but the online reservation system. This is a busy office but I received excellent service as if I was the only customer present. I have been waiting for the opportunity to note the amazing service delivered by Latosha (excuse misspelling). After a 13 hour drive to King st and a 13 hour return home planned the next day, I hoped for anything to make unpacking the unit and packing the trailer easier. Latosha did everything to make it easier! I pulled out of the parking lot thrilled because we were in and out so much quicker (and easier )than anticipated. ¡Gracias!

This team is exceptional. I got a U-Haul from another dealer and when I pulled up at King street with my first load to store, one of the young men noticed the trailer wasn't hitched properly. He corrected the issue. I was checking out and running a little late and the staff stayed around an extra 30 minutes for me to finish. This team has excellent customer service.

This is the only place that I know of that charges twice as much than anyone else to store items in a flood plain, Of course there is no grace period for paying the rent, even if you can't get to the storage area due to a flood. Just out of curiosity, if the storage area were flooded and stayed flooded for 6 months straight, would you still charge rent for those six months during which our items were under water? I will not be back and neither will anyone that I speak with.

There need to be trash cans more centrally located within the Uhaul storage area itself, the fact that we had to walk all the way around the entire building to get to the dumpster was extremely time consuming and ill-efficient. Clearly others feel the same way because there was constantly trash strewn through out the corridors. There is always a super long line in the customer service area and oftentimes associates who are unwilling and uninterested in helping whatsoever. On several occasions we had issues with Carol, who was not only demeaning, and apathetic but has the customer service ability of a dirty diaper. Sadly enough, she is the Manager or Owner!! As the highest on payroll she deserves a severe demotion and someone else needs to run that place. The only thing this place has going for it is its location and proximity to downtown. That and theres a young man who works there named TJ who is the diamond in the rough at that place. He works mostly outside, in the heat, helping to return and clean out the Uhauls. Our interaction with him was the only positive experience we can glean from patronizing with this Uhaul. He deserves a raise and a promotion for maintaining a positive attitude, being helpful, dilligent, willing to go above and beyond for the customer, all amidst clearly poor conditions and management that he has to work with. I hope his spirit doesnt get broken by the terrible attitudes of his colleagues and I hope UHAUL as a company regonizes his hard work and enacts stricter guidelines for the rude "managment" and "Customer service" agent you all have employed there.
