rented the storage online. notice right away the storage was upstairs. UNSATISFACTORY plus no elevators. I'm under the doctor care I can't lifted anything heavy or constantly climb stairs. Started calling the facility for a lower lever storage. Called for 3 days couldn't get a customer service rep. Every call placed on hold for hours and then phone hangs up. Arrive at the facility to move in lock and key wasn't in unit. Hired a moving company to come out to the facility to help me move in. 10 mins to 7 pm U haul rep states that he has to lock doors and could see that we only had a few more boxes left. plus it was another customer there also that was disable. it was already inconvenient the storage was up stairs and all the way at the end of hall by the other set of stairs. it should have been a loading dock on the other side of the building. just disappointed all around. also call the manager Rick about these situations and he never called back. Rick was a great help--fixed me up with a trailer when the 34th Street store realized they didn't have one they had promised 2 weeks prior. Give Rick a raise! I did have a flat on the trailer in Meridian, MS and had to wait about 2 hours for U-Haul to come with a spare. I recommend sending a spare with each rental--I could have changed it myself and been on my way in minutes. If you rent your trucks with spares, you could rent the trailers with spares--those customers are as important as truck renters.Jerry B.
Returning a truck, the workers in attendance didn't lift a finger. I suppose that's fine given the good technology UHaul has for returns, but this wasn't an after hours returns. The two employees were just sitting in the store.allan C.

I had an issue with a vehicle not having a license plate. When i noticed I called the establishment and was told that I had to drive back to pick up paper plate. I drove back 15+ miles and sat in traffic for 30+ minutes to pick it up. I arrived and was given a piece of paper to present to the cops in case I was pulled over. I asked what can be done for my miles and time, they gave me more time and was told They'd figure out the miles once it's dropped off. I dropped of the vehicle and the following day. I called the establishment and the owner answered and told me he can try and see what he can do and that he'd call me back in 15 minutes. That was 24 hours ago. I even called back and he told me he hadn't forgotten about me and he'd call me back. I never got a call back. I sat in traffic twice and used double the amount of miles I was going to and got charged the difference. I also had to pump more gas into a vehicle than i should have but knew if I didn't I get charged for it. I got charged more because I went over the miles I was supposed to and when I paid in the morning I put more than what I was going to use anyways just to be safe (paid for 55, used 66, my drive was only supposed to be 40, maybe 45) Overall it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with an establishment. It was my first time ever using uhaul and after this experience it very well May be my lastUlises G.

Make sure all the keys are on the key chain. The lock pad key was missing. Glad I wasn't far like someone else might have and then find they can't open the back of the truck. On a time schedule. I rented a 10 foot truck for $19 and drove it 28 miles. I understood there was an approximate $1 /mile charge but did not ask about gasoline. The vehicle had 1/4 tank of gas. The attendant did not tell me to add gas before I left. I tried using the inspection link texted to me but it spooled endlessly. On return, 1/8 tank of gas, I was told there would be an additional $70-$100 charge for not filling with gas (I don't remember the amount). I was upset, the attendant told me she would drop to an additional $20. I did not accept because I still felt it unfair. I understand my account is on hold. I would have added 2-3 gallons of gas and made a note of the gas gauge with the attendant but got no guidance. I even told the attendant the tire was low - he kicked it and said it was fine. No one mentioned adding gas. I feel the surprise fee and the lack of information was gotcha to inflate charges.Kevin B.

The Rep was very kind, and courteous. He provided the perfect amount of banter during our interaction, so I hardly noticed the few minutes I was actually in the store. My only complaint was due to no fault of U-Haul's. The person who used the large 20' cargo truck before me must have been a cigarette smoker. That scent does linger, and there isn't really much anyone can do about it, so I do not fault U-Haul. Overall, it was a good experience.CHRISTOPHER B.

Before I departed with the van, I received a notification to confirm any damages and amount of fuel. The fuel actually had less then listed. I adjusted it, took a picture, & submitted. When I returned, I was told that I needed to pay $23 extra dollars for fuel. Apparently, the system did not properly register the changes I made & submitted. I had to take the van to purchase more gas, making me late for something else I had planned. It was when I asked for my receipt & copy of contract, that the rep. discovered the error. Rick was very professional, and of great assistance, after the passing of my nephew,, our family needed to store his belongings,so we could get through the grieving ,process and be ready to deal with it in time . Didn't have the appliance Dolly i had rented making the task much more difficult Employee gave me the wrong keys to go add gas to the truck on returning and then disappeared for half an hour. I discovered my fuses blown 3 times for brakes with the trailer connected. They work fine for the 1st day. the next night I noticed no brake lights. Replaced fuse and drove again no problem. When I connected to return it today, I found the fuse blown the 3rd time. Its an intermittent thing that won't be easily found. Everything else was excellent. Horrible experience!!! We rented a Uhaul cargo van to transport food and goods for a wedding shower and come to find out the van was infested with ROACHES!! We had to leave boxes out overnight to avoid the roaches infesting our home and use other cars to transport everything. It was a NIGHTMARE!!! We are waiting to speak with the manager. Employee on shift was able to see roaches in door side pockets when van was returned. Just a disgusting experience!!!CHELSEA M.

I dated U-Haul at Tidwell & 45 poor because while my items were stored at that facility for two years, I was unable to check on my items all this time. When I did go there I was men rolling shopping (grocery) carts away from the facility and I became frightened and quickly drove off. When I did return that when I found out that there had been a thirty at the place. No one called me about it, I found d out when I saw the damage in the unit I was renting. My health was so bad I didn't think about anything but my health. I had a stroke in 2019 and in 2020 I had to have a pacemaker repair. It was time for a pacemaker change and I had complications and was hospitalized for weeks. Finally I was able to get my items in January of 2021 on the 1st. That's when I found out that my unit did have the lock I put on it but another one. Found out one of the workers didn't come to work that day so I had to call a locksmith and pay him $130.00 to get the lock off. After we finally got out that evening I was disgusted and tired (I was reimbursed for the locksmith in a few days but the manager told me I would get it back the same day. But I was charged for February and when asked why I was asked "did you you him to close your unit out. That's not my job! Thanks for everything! Please Donegal there.Joyce S. | Overall Experience

My only complain about the storage facility is that there was a lot of rats. In my storage room I always found lots of rat droppings. One time I also found a dead rat decomposed in my unit. It did not make sense how they did not smell it. I don't know how long the rat had been dead as I rarely went to the storage. The storage needs to have a good pest control treatment because what ever they are using is not working. I know employees did there best in keeping it clean because of the several times I went I saw them mopping the isles and cleaning. HORRIBLE! The place need to be demolished! What's suppose to be "climate controlled" is just as hot outside! The storage facility is full of rats and ain't no telling wut else! I'm deeply concerned about the condition of the building, it's infested with rodents and my belongings were covered in feces and urine. We entered the unit without gloves or masks, since there are none to be found in the stores. My expensive and fairly recently purchased mattress and box springs will have to be professionally cleaned, along with wood furniture that was heavily soiled and infested with rodents (no longer present but in my last visit to the facility in mid-February, a dead rodent was present in the unit). Since I'm on my own, unemployed and will continue to be unemployed for the next several months due to coronavirus, I was unable at that time to get my belongings moved until this past Saturday, April 4. While doing so, my son and daughter-in-law were also putting themselves at risk of illness by handling the heavily soiled contents. I had to dispose of bedding, clothing, and other personal belongings that were either too heavily soiled or that had been chewed by rodents. To add insult to injury, Uhaul charged me for TWO RENTALS for the truck I rented to move my belongings. I picked up the vehicle on Saturday morning believing I had a full day (24 hour) rental, only to learn when I brought the vehicle back that same afternoon, I was charged for two rental periods. I would like Uhaul to reimburse me for the cost of having my belongings properly cleaned, and reconsider charging me for two rentals for the truck. It's outrageous! Something should be done about the condition of the storage building. It should probably be condemned and I've strongly considered contacting the health department to report the building as unsanitary and overrun by potentially disease-carrying rodents! Your name is on the building and YOU are responsible for this, I will not waste my time discussing this with the property manager and/or staff. I've already spent a great deal of time attempting to clean my belongings well enough to go into a new CLEAN, TEMPERATURE-CONTROLLED AND LARGER UNIT FOR A LOWER MONTHLY RATE!!! This place is an absolute dump. The staff are lazy and do nothing but sit in the office. The horrible excuse of a person, that calls himself the " manager " could not be worse at the job. This place is not secure an the employees are suspect. The unit I rented was mysteriously burglarized and all my belongings stolen. I was told it was my fault that I didn't have insurance. They said they could not monitor what happens at the facility. Then why do you have signing posted stating that your facility is secure and there is a video security system for customers protection? Here's a thought, maybe if the employees walked around the facility and paid attention to who was going in and out they would notice who was kicking through the wall in one unit and climbing through then kicking open the door and stealing property that people pay to have stored inside a " Locked, secured, monitored, " facility.
