Need to improve communication around appt times and location. I was sent two emails with the same invoice and different locations and an email confirming my appt but not which location. So after driving to two locations the second one was correct. When I walked in they did not have my appt that I can an email confirmation for. They had it down for Fri. So I again had to take time off of work to come back. So after all that it gets installed today and they guy that installed the brake controller did such a half assed job it would almost be funny were it not my truck. Wrapped the wires in bright red tape and didn't hide it or give extra cable just tan it right up the middle at an angle. So now I have to go yet again to get it done right. If you need to rent a truck maybe, if you need a hitch don't walk but RUN from U Haul.Scott S.

I was second in line, at 8am but there were quite a few others there then on this Saturday morning. There seemed to be only one counter person available and I sensed their frustration to get going. I love this location off I-17 & Deer Valley. They are helpful, efficient and have great customer service. I was at a different location that could not get me my reservation after and hour of waiting and did not offer to help me find a replacement. This location off Deer Valley had a replacement of something smaller that I could use and they had me in and out in 10min. I highly recommend them.Beverly S.

The sign on the door said "NOTICE, Face Masks Required, Please Respect Social Distancing After Entering, Thank You, U-Haul" however when picking up the trailer on 5/11/2021, only one employee had a mask. I wore a mask to comply. The General Manager wore no mask, sat at a service terminal for more than 10 minutes and offered no help. Eventually, he left the room. Other customers arrived, seeing two people in line waiting, asked if we had been helped. Answering no, they left saying I can't wait to be helped. After another 5 minutes passing, the General Manager came into the room and said can I help you? I said yes, I have a reservation. He said go ahead and pull your tow vehicle to the trailer and I will be right out to make the connection, then we'll come back inside to complete the paperwork. I pulled my tow vehicle in front of the trailer and waited another 10+ minutes. He came out, made the connection, took no pictures (that I am aware of but is normal with U-Haul) and told me to go back inside for the paperwork. I went back inside, paid with a credit card, and he sloppily folded the three pages (contract and user pages) and shoved them into a U-Haul sleeve saying there you go. I returned the trailer on 5/12/2021, this time no employee had a mask on, but I had mine on to comply with the sign on the door. The General Manager told a female employee to go outside and disconnect my trailer. She said you will need to come out to lift the trailer off the hitch as I am not strong enough. After well over 5 minutes, the General Manager and another female employee came outside (no masks on any of them). The GM lifted the trailer off my vehicle and the female employee said you are good to go and I emailed you the final bill for $34.03. It was clear the GM micro-manages the employees at this location, does not comply with rules set by corporate U-Haul (masks), and is not very good at servicing customers. I don't expect anyone to kiss my a$$, but at least a little respect for a customer that is paying their wages goes a long way! U-Haul needs to send in a "blind customer" to test this GM and see how this facility is run! I would guess the outcome would be surprising.Jerry H.

The timers are the lighting are way to aggressive on shutting off. It's not fun working on unloading items from your cart into your unit, and have the lights go off. Then have to walk down a pitch black hallway to make the lights go back on. Rinse & repeat. Also, checkout process. Followed website directions, took pictures of unit and waited 48 hours. Still pending... Tried calling -- phone number goes to national number, and they would send a message to call back. Never did. Drove back to unit at end of day, waited in line and asked if there was a problem with moving out? They said uhh ohh, let me go look at unit. They did, and finally "moved-out" without issue. Why it took physically driving down there to make it happen, when it could have been done all online is beyond me? If moving out requires you to be there, make it step 1 on the web. First and foremost my interactions with two staff members was fantastic. The gentleman that checked me in and returned my rental trailer was very helpful. The other was Tiffany who showed me to the storage locker was fantastic!! I can tell she enjoys her job and she was very helpful. She is a great employee and really highlighted my experience. As for the facility a have two comments. One, there were no garbage cans that I could find to discard trash. Secondly, I need help removing a larger item from my trailer and requested some help to which I was told " Because of company liability reasons we cannot touch customers items". As a company I get it, but where does customer service begin and liability ends. My suggestion would be to have a waiver for customers to sign that may need assistance if they're loading and unloading by themselves.KEVIN W. | First Impressions
