I used the app to do the pick up and return. The app kept crashing when I was trying to check in. When I returned the truck I used the app and it did not return the truck. I had to sit on hold for over 35 minutes because when I called the location it sent me to the call center. Would not recommend using the app to check out and in a truck.Logan M.

Overall bad experience but the staff at the Gilbert location were fantastic. I reserved a truck online from another location then received a call 30 min before I was scheduled to pick up saying no truck was available. Then I was told I could get two small trucks from the Gilbert location and when I arrived they didn't have these either. U-haul call center and online service is terrible. You should have never said you had trucks when you didn't. Lucky for U-haul the staff at the Gilbert location went out of their way to try and fix your mistakes. You should have your online and call center employees take lessons from them. These employees deserve raises, extra time off and acknowledgment for great customer service. You need to not overbook reservations. That could have cost us a lot more money and time and I would have never given you another cent if it weren't for the Gilbert location staff.KEVEN C.
Gave to me with 2 nails in driver's rear tire. Jack would not raise tongue, so I had to pull pin out of my receiver and drive forward to get unhooked, letting everything drop. Drivers wheel strap kept coming loose, would not stay tight. This unit probably needs to be retired. First problem I had at this location.THOMAS H.

I waited for over 15 minutes to get the keys to my truck after completing an online check-in even though I "skipped the line" and walked to the side of the counter as instructed. The keys to my truck couldn't be located and a disgruntled employee had to sub out another one for me in the system. On return I was charged for a 2 day rental that had very clearly been returned prior to 24h and I had to go inside to a computer again with a rep who didn't initially believe me that I should only be paying for 1 day. There were three other reps huddled inside at the time of my return and I let several of them know that a running truck was blocking both of the driving Lanes on the property and I could not easily get my truck to the return area because of this. I had two disappointments. The location that I initially rented the trailer from, ( which is less than 10 minutes from my home ) did not have the trailer. The young man was friendly on the phone. The young lady I spoke to previously was not. I've had these 2 storage units for 22 years. Questions don't apply as I did it on the phone. The customer service was good and the truck was cleaned. The problem was the truck's A/C broke after a couple hours on the 25 hour trip 2 1/2 day trip from Phoenix to Washington. It made the trip difficult, the heat in the cab was sometime in unbearable. We had to keep the windows down while going 70-80 mph. Very noisy and hard to talk with my wife.Douglas K.

No one available in office for service or even acknowledge we were there for 15 minutes. Man waiting on us was unable to check us out looked out window at someone coming in for up left and never returned. After 10 minutes we asked the other service attendant if he forgot about us ? She had no customers and took over. He never returned. Never apologized for walking out. Then we had to buy a ball and received and it took 20 minutes for the last to put it together. This site is understaffed and needs more people with customer service experience. A way to let customers know you see they are waiting and will be there soon. I was charged for furniture pads and a dolly that I never received and I called and got a refund for it but was billed for them upon return. Uhaul needs to get their shit together. I had to go to three stores after I was told the trailer was at a certain location and then I got sent someplace else. It took 4 hours just to get the trailer and then the guy didn't even give me all the equipment I requested and it was the oldest trailer in the usual fleet. When I called the usual number I was treated very poorly to the point that I hung up and got someone else to fix the issue but now I know it wasn't fixed at all. I want a refund of the whole rental and I will never rent from uhaul again. All of the years that I have used uhaul I have always regretted it now more then ever.JASON W.

When I arrived to pick up a trailer there where seven people waiting in line. The facility seemed to be understaffed. Estavon, who was scheduled to leave at 3pm stayed on past 3pm to help people in line including myself. When I returned the trailer the staff was excellent. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable. I've rented here in past and had a great experience. One very important think was overlooked, when I was issued the truck. The two rear driver tires were bald which I didn't realize that when I picked up the truck. While driving to my location I had a blowout on one of the rear drivers side tires. It sounded like an explotion. It was 1:30 am while driving on the highway through Montana. Road side service was excellent. They responded quickly. Tow truck assistant who came out said the tires were junk and that I should have not been given a truck with such bad tires. I am happy that I was not hurt because I know it could have lead to an accident. Luckily truck and belonging and myself were fine.HEATHER H.

despite everything with the facility itself being just fine, i was very disappointed with the overall booking process. The facility itself was fine. Fairly clean, just a lot of dead bugs on the ground. The staff seems to be a bunch of younger less customer service oriented people. Too many times when I had questions, I had to deal with shrugs, cell phone usage and a general "you're bothering me" attitude. I would not recommend this facility for that reason only. The doors getting into my storage unit.... alaways disabked. Never opened fully last 4 months I paid to keep my stuff there? Dehabilitating? No... unless I needed a lot of stuff that day. Staff...? I rented a truck to get in there. And one to get out. Absolutely atrocious. No smiles. No "welcome in!" Nothing. They all walk (miserably slow) and can easily tell they hate their jobs. I'd recommend this place because it is clean, close to my home, and easily accessible (kind of). There are some homeless people living in there because they have a unit, they showed me their card. The guy and gal were in the bathroom for long periods of time. I observed this twice and when I asked them from outside the bathroom to please come out, that I needed to use the facilities, they stayed in for another half hour. I had to put all items that I was rearranging in the storage back in and lock it, then go to the front office to use theirs. Anyone can enter thru the doors and I also saw a man, twice come to check what there was in the area where you can pick up items that people don't want. I don't think he had a unit. You should really review your policy for entrance into the storage buildings. It is a security problem and it worried me that my storage would be broken into. I did get into a verbal confrontation with the male homeless guy. I brought up this problem with the front office and they said that they were going to monitor it and take care of the problem. Upon our arrival we informed the manager, Misty Ward that we would have a POD being delivered which we would unload but it wouldn't be able to be picked up until the next day. She said, "No problem, we do that all the time." By the time the POD arrived, Misty had gone home and another employee informed us that the POD had to be picked up that day. That employee then called Misty at home and was told that Misty never told us it would be ok to be picked up the next morning which was a bold faced lie. We had to cancel send the POD back and pay for another month of POD storage which is more than the unit at your facility would have cost us. It was the last day that I was available as I was going out of town for 6 weeks. We canceled the storage unit and are in the process of finding another storage facility. I would have preferred your location since it's close but I don't want to do business with people that lie to me. If I can get a free month on the unit I will consider renting a unit from your location. If not I will go elsewhere and since your facility is where I get my propane for my grill I will also take that business elsewhere.Gary P. | Overall Experience
