I originally reserved a 9ft van at your location and was called during the week to inform me that my van wasn't available. They transferred my reservation to the main st and gilbert location which I was ok with but when I went to pick up my van on Saturday morning at the main and gilbert location, the place was closed all weekend. Very frustrating had to call and cancel that reservation and make a new one for a 10ft truck because 9ft van was not available. I was never given or offered my $50 credit for not having my equipment ready even when it was guaranteed on the reservations. I use your location and services before and never had an issue before. The employees were not friendly at first. I asked for help with the app and they acted like it was an inconvenience to help me. After we resolved the issue they were more pleasant. The van was not clean to U-Haul standards. It was dirty inside and out. I will not return to this location.Suesann A.

On The Go Casino is a corporate acct. We rent once or twice each week. We attempt to utilize the "Scan and Go" feature, which is ideal for our company, as we are on a tight schedule. More times than note there is a problem with the process, and our manager has to spend time at the desk, which kills our business. Usually everyone here is quite friendly and helpful. But the girl who hooked up my trailer for me this time was very curt, with no refresher explanation of how to hook up or unhook the trailer, and seemed put out when I asked for her help on adding the clip to my hitch. The girl that received my trailer after my week-long rental was the same. No receipt provided, no pleasantries, said she would email the receipt and never did. I had to call and ask for it a day later. I'm just usually so pleasantly surprised by the customer service at this location, but not this time.WENDY Z.

Terrible communication. I reserved a truck at the Elliot location and the truck wasn't there at my scheduled pickup time. They sent me to this location to pick up the truck and told me I would get $50 off my order for the inconvenience. When I picked up the truck they were unable to apply the $50 credit to the hold charge on my card, and they said they would apply the credit when I returned the truck. When I returned the truck, there was no manager to talk to about the $50 credit. An employee told me a manager would call to discuss the final price. Nobody called. I called Monday, no manager available, person on the phone said the manager would call me the next day. No call, and I just got charged without any $50 credit. Called again today Thursday and surprise there is still no manager available. Elliot location did not call the day of to tell me the truck was not available. This gilbert location did not honor the $50 credit I was promised. Overall U-haul has poor communication skills between each other and with customers.JOSEPH K.

I've filled this out numerous times, with this same verbiage: I rent a Uhaul truck, for my business, about once a week, and have been for the past couple years. I think it's crazy there's not a business discount program, or, at least, a fast track checkout process. Before the pandemic, I had a great relationship with Penske, and had for years. Since the pandemic, I had to move to Uhaul, because of location of our new site and the nearest location of Penske. But, man you guys are WAY more expensive for me!!CHAD B.

Let the customer know a lock does NOT come with the rental. Let the customer know they need to do the walk around when they get the keys AND it expires within a certain time frame. Provide a number where it takes you to an actual representative to assist you. Poor customer service. Happy with rental truck and dolleys.DONNA C.

I should have received a refund since the initial hold charge was more than we used. I was charged a additional amount instead of a refund. I called the location and sat on hold. No one ever picked up I hung up after 20 minutes. I'll try again tomorrow.MICHAEL W.

He was absolutely professional on every level, patience shown, and he never raised his voice or was belligerent like the customer. The customer service at this location has been first rate during all of the times I've used them, While the equipment has for the most part been serviceable it's been reasonable common to find small issues with the equipment, for example on the last rental of a 5X8 open trailer one of the gate retention chains was nonservice-able. The after hour return is problematic. I have rented from UHaul twice in the last 6 months and had the same issue. Your system only allows the automatic location to be entered. If you would allow us to type in the address where we returned the vehicle, I could have completed the return without being put on hold for 50 minutes. It was both annoying and a waste of valuable time. If I had been able to complete the return online manually, I would have rated my experience with 5 stars.KATHLEEN G.

I was kept waiting outside in plus 105 degree heat when I called for assistance in getting into the storage building. There were several employees cleaning and preparing trucks in the front. I yelled across to them for assistance and every one of them ignored me. I went back inside because no one ever came to assist me. There was one person on the counter, no one to assist customers with needs other than renting!! I have rented here in the past and it was a breezy, seemless move in and move out. My belongings were kept in the same storage at Uhaul for over 5 years. I went there from time to time to get an item. The facility was always very clean, accessible and secure. I made an online order for a 10x10 self storage unit. I also purchased a lock online so that I'd get it all done at one time, QUICKLY. My experience online was great. Everything was so easy to find and setup. I wish I could say the same about my visit to the store. I think the person who helped me was new or they were having a bad day. I wasn't greeted and I didn't feel welcomed. I explained why I was at the store, I was asked for my name and then I just stood there while she worked on it. There was a lot of awkward silence. I asked if everything was okay and she said yes and kept going. I got the vibe she might be having a bad day. I had the order number, to help finding my order. I kept offering it when nobody could find both of my orders. I had proof of all of this. I didn't know what was going on. This was frustrating. Another gentleman came to help the woman who was helping me. Apparently they wanted a 3rd contact phone number but weren't conveying the message to me. After a few minutes of trying to figure out what they were speaking about, I figured out they wanted a 3rd phone number, so i have then my mother in law's number and address. Why wasn't I asked for this online? What i really didn't like was that if I didn't provide this 3rd contact, i wouldnt be allowed to rent the unit. That needs to change! I almost walked out of your store. This next part was not their fault, but the system went down during all of this. I checked on my phone if your website was experiencing this, and yes, it had effected that too. I would've understood if I had been told something was a miss with the system. I happen to overhear the employees talking that the system was down, that's why I checked. The store didn't have the lock I ordered, so they gave me another one. Until I got out of store and was almost to my car. Someone found the lock type I had ordered. I gladly exchanged locks and went on my way. I've worked customer service for many years and I wasn't happy with the way I was treated. But I was also in a rush because I had to go to work. I could've been a bit more pleasant. I work at Chase Field and I still had to go home, get dressed and drive a half hour to downtown Phoenix. I just wanted to leave because I had to get to work. I still thanked everyone anyways when I left because they still helped me. I'm not mad and I have no reason to slander anyone. I don't want anyone fired! With all this stuff going on in the world, i don't want someone to lose their job over me. Give them another chance to make it right. I think they deserve another chance. This is how I recall my visit and unfortunately, my experience wasn't pleasant. I hope this can become a coaching experience for everyone involved and I hope that this would improve the customer service in the future, as I am now your customer with a storage unit. Promised a unit. Called the day before to confirm and asked for a unit number. Was told they couldn't give me one until I showed up. Understood. Upon arrival, was told that they had no unit for me and that they couldn't/wouldn't do anything for me. Called by facility a couple weeks later asking if I was gonna keep using my storage unit. Wait what?! So you either had one and didn't care to give to me or you didn't have one but still wanted to charge me for one. Worst of it?! The Uhaul location in Georgia where l picked up the truck gave me a broken truck with a bumper hanging down. My dad drove the truck all the way from Georgia to Arizona and had to listen to the loose bumper flapping in the wind the whole entire way. When l mentioned it to the manager at the Gilbert Road location she didn't seem to care or want to take any responsibility for it. Otherwise the Uhaul storage unit on Gilbert Road is a nice place. There are signs and ads everywhere saying 24 hour access and online promotes 24 hour access but it appears to only be true for equipment rental namely returns. The late hours did help but in Arizona, the sunless hours are the best to take advantage of and I was grateful for the 5am access to make up the time. Very, very poor customer service. Ordered a U Box in June to move items from storage unit into. I arrived ,after calling for 2 hours and no answers, to find out that my UBox was there with no cover. I was told that I couldn't get it and had to go to a different Uhaul. They could have CALLED me and told me that BEFORE I arrived. Then, after I can back with ubox and emptied the storage unit, I told them to close the unit account. They had the nerve to ask me if I emptied it, that people say that they moved out but didn't. Staff couldn't find my reservation even though I got them the number 3 times. After they found it I had to give them my information including card numbers again after doing it when I made the reservations. When I made the reservations (in the storage facility) I was told access hours were 5:30 am until 10:00 pm. Then, on the move in day I was told "office hours only 7am until 7pm." What is the correct hours? I was also told that there were 2 alarms for the unit, one at the door of the building and one on the unit it's self. Representative told us the unit was to the right out of the office, our unit was not in there. I went back into the office for help as we had not seen another busilding when we drove in. I mentioned it to the staff member when I changed unit sized and inquired about the charge, it was indicated that was a hold not charged, when infact i was charged. despite everything with the facility itself being just fine, i was very disappointed with the overall booking process. I initially "reserved" it when I reserved the truck, only to get a call the next day i confirmed my reservation and provided a credit card for payment, and received a confirmation email. i then recoeved multiple follow up calls to cinfirm my move in date over the next few days, so mich that i emailed back my email confirmation reaffirm i still had my reservation, which i got another response confirming, and after all that, still did not have any reservation booked on my arrival. the whole experience prior to the actual move in was quite frustrating.LUIS C. | First Impressions
