We were told we have an 10 x 15 x 10 storage unit. We were happy with this. However, when we came to get the unit we were told we could not have this unit. There was an over reserved for our unit. There two other people reserved for the unit we told we would have. We were given a smaller unit. Everything did not fit. We had to take things home in our car. It took two trips. Managers their needs and learn how to treat customers. Instead of telling them that they wasted enough time on them when you was only in there for maybe less than 10 minutes. And U-Haul likes to charge an overcharge people way too much. A manager told me he was going to let the $11 go that I supposedly owed after paying $556 and as I'm walking out the door he's trying to charge my card. I found that out the next day when I looked on my card and it said that a couple of charges was declined because of no funds but that's only because you haul put me in the negative and they had no right to take more out then what they did and then I get told by a manager that he's not responsible for my financial problems and that he's wasted enough time on me I will never come here again I would rather put myself in the car and make thousands of trips to my new place then to deal with that and the stress I walked out of U-Haul bawling my eyes out and he's trying to charge my card twice as I'm walking out the door very unprofessionalMARIE C.

All customer service was great until I received a phone call as soon as I got into my car. The woman who called was unbelievably rude claiming I still had their truck and was supposed to be there two hours prior to when I dropped off. I explained to her I was waiting in the long line FOREVER because it was busy and maybe that's why it was showing me being late. Whoever makes the phone calls in the Georgesville location needs to be removed. Everyone else, the young lady that worked the check out and the man I dealt with the day before were all very very polite and kind. The man who checked my uhaul in was very very kind. The other woman, had she actually come outside, and when she asked me to walk all the way back up to the uhaul to meet her would have been told about her rude ass self but of course, she didn't even come outside. That one needs removed she obviously is one of those people who's just beyond rude to customers cause she hates her life.TUESDAY T.

Overall, everything went well with helpful staff, and the facility is very clean, well lit, and secure. My only issue was that when making the reservation over the phone I specifically asked if this location was accessible 24-hours and was told yes. The problem is your app when you check in to pick up the truck, they had rented it to someone else and we tried with several and the trucks were not there, we had to wait for it to be there for them to help us, at the time of delivery it could not be completed because the app is asking for the photo of the millage we had to call customer service to put a note.Shirley M.

My U-Box experience has been nothing but frustration from the first point of contact at the Dublin location clear up to when you drafted an extra month of rent from my checking account after I already returned the box over a month ago. Dublin has no business setting up a U-Box reservation. They should have referred me to the Georgesville location rather than stumble through the set up which Georgesville ended up saying was done incorrectly. I would have gladly gone to the correct location to reserve what I needed- I even told Dublin I would head over to Georgesville but they insisted it was not an issue and would be able to get it set up for me. I don't recall the man's name but he was the owner/manager of the Dublin location- large gauged ears, lots of tattoos, very friendly, very professional and instilled confidence so I stuck with him at Dublin. Once at Georgesville - not one person accepted responsibility for U-Box. Everyone was sure to let me know they didn't know anything about how U-Box worked and that it wasn't part of the company as a whole. I don't care. I'm there to pick up something that U-Haul adversities they offer and something that I booked through a U-Haul location - to me it it's all U-Haul. After 45 minutes and 3 associates, a manager, who just happened to be there for a few minutes, was able to get a box arranged for us. Dropping off the box for storage went smoothly however the disorganization experienced up to this point left me feeling nervous about whether or not U-Haul would be able to keep track of and locate our box when it came time to pick it up again. Fortunately, our box was stored safely and was located without issue and was ready for us on the scheduled pick up day. Returning the box went fine again and Walter assured us the box would be checked in and no further charges would occur so you can imagine the surprise when another $70 was withdrawn from our account over a month after we had returned the box. I stopped in to Georgesville on a Sunday where again I was informed they don't have anything to do with U-Box and the U-Box office is closed on Sundays. I asked if they could at the very least remove my credit card information from auto-pay. The manager, Kendra I believe is her name, was able to process the refund and remove my card information. She said she would work with Walter on Monday to ensure the box was checked in again. Hopefully this is all true and I don't end up in collections for a box I no longer occupy. I'm telling you- it's a cluster-calamity and should not be something a customer has to deal with. The Georgesville U-Haul location either needs to integrate U-Box under their umbrella of services offered or get rid of it completely. It makes the Georgesville U-Haul location look bad as a whole because as a customer, I don't care if U-Box is not part of the U-Haul location. I just know U-Haul was a pain to deal with and wasted a lot of my time. So it doesn't matter to me if it's U-Box or U-Haul or Walter or Kendra, or Dublin's fault. In the end it comes across as U-Haul the company's fault. And I can tell you the lack of organization and the refusal of store associates to own the issue and make it right for the customer has me thinking twice about ever returning to U-Haul again. As for U-Box itself, it's a good idea and it was a perfect solution for our situation. I don't know if the model is just new or what but there's definitely room for improvement to make this part of the business. Left as it currently is, it's just an afterthought that one guy on the side of the building (Walter) handles on his own and if he's not there the customer is screwed.JOAN N.
The people returning the vehicle were speeding off driving like maniacs, cussing, murmuring under their breath. Not welcoming at all, very rude. The truck was absolutely terrible. Check engine light was on, exhaust leak, the transmission was slipping and couldn't accelerate over 35 MPH without hitting 8000 RPM. It was overall a terrible experience. They want to charge me $20 for a 1/4 tank of gas. I couldn't fill it up because I ran out of time, but even in today's prices it should've only taken $5-10 to get it there. I rented a van for 5 days the van sat for 4 of those days and the only day it was used is as for local deliveries. I have rented 2 vans every week for the last 4 weeks and together on both vans I have never went over 700 miles total, now they are telling me that I went 1100 miles in 1 van and it wasn't even utilized for 4 of the 5 days. I feel like there is something dirty going on because the employee can't prove the miles to me. And why do you let the shop that is question do the investigation?TIMOTHY M.

One of the two storage units we put our furniture in somehow contracted bedbugs, we unpacked the storage unit that did not contain the bedbugs and brought that back to our home, but we left the storage unit that was full of bedbugs full and tried to talk to the U-Haul employee at this facility and she was so rude to my husband, my friend and I. She lied and said that there is no way a bedbug could move from someone else's storage unit to us but I know that is false because there are wide spots in the back of every storage unit where you can clearly see someone else's things. Bedbugs can crawl through anything. It's absolutely disgusting that we got bedbugs from this facility, and their behavior was even more disgusting. They told us we had until the end of the day to get our things out and they were not going to treat any of the units for the bedbugs. We were yelled at by the uhaul employee that works at the Georgesville uhaul facility by the name of Kendra. Rude but is really an understatement as to how Kendra's attitude was. She walked away from my husband and my friend while they were speaking to her. We were also promised free storage for the first month because we also booked one of the 26 foot long U-Haul trucks and it came with it, the Georgesville uhaul facility tried to charge us for that first month after I had visible proof of the free month via the uhaul application. I have spent thousands of dollars in past moves and storage units but we will never ever use uhaul again for any of my moving or storage needs after this experience and neither will our friends and family. The doors that were next to my unit were broken but didn't tell me or have signs by it. Waiting in line for to long for them to tell me they were not working and I'd have to walk all the way to the back. I then had to park on the other side and walk all the way to the back on the building to find the unit I had was already taken so I had to wait in line a second time. The line took 30 min again. Kendra was amazing!!!! We had a horrible experience in Tennessee picking up our truck. Three locations and 5 and 1/2 hours later in a different state is where we finally got a truck. We had the truck reserved months ago! We were done with U-Haul until we met Kendra and she took care of all of our storage needs even though that had been messed up as well. The manager, Kendra went above and beyond to help us secure our storage units. The sizes we needed were not available at first but she helped us reserve several smaller units. She said she would call us if the larger sizes became available and she did. We were very stressed about finding storage and Kendra did everything she could to relieve that stress. My only problem was a few months ago. I walked in to the building of my unit and the smell of mice was overwhelming. I don't know if somone was storing food or what but then when i opened my unit there were mouse feces all over the floor.For a short time it was truly disgusting but then it was resolved pretty quickly. I like how helpful and knowledgeable the employees are. I loved the accessibility. Very impressive that I could back the van into the building so if it's raining nothing gets wet. My only problem was when we opened the storage unit (and mind you this is the FIRST TIME EVER I have rented from anyone) there was a DEAD MOUSE laying on the ground! I had to go get someone to clean it up however now I am a little leery about leaving my stuff afraid mice are going to end up in the boxes. I was told they "just started" having problems that's why there were traps. I think they need to be VIGILANT on keeping them out.MICHAEL L. | First Impressions
