I had to put on my own trailer. No-one around to help. It wasn't until I was driving out of the facility that someone checked the lights. I'm a grandma but strong enough to attach the trailer myself. The trailer ended up being very hard to use. I could barely force the door open with all my strength. Very rusty and crusty. It leaked black road snowmelt in the back splattering my stuff. Luckily all plastic bins. I would overhaul this trailer before someone else rents it. All the other 5x8 trailers I rented this year were fine. I'm too busy to write reviews but I had to for this one. The truck I had was a piece of crap. Drivers door barely closed. Ride was terrible and driving it was uncomfortable. It sounded like it was falling apart. Truck had 122171 miles on it and should have been retired. I will not go back.JOHN H.
I couldn't check the van in with the UHaul app because it wouldn't process the picture of the odometer. After 30 minutes on hold with customer service to check in I finally gave up and dropped the key through the door. The local staff took care of everything the next morning and THEY are the reason I will rent from UHaul again. I was so aggravated with the app I was ready to write your company off forever, but the local UHaul staff made a save for the company.Gary H.
This was an awful experience!!! I have not used Uhaul for some years. I finally needed to use them and it was not a good experience. Making the reservation online was simple enough, checking online was easy as well. Using the mobile check in was a joke. After you do everything on your phone, you still have to go inside to get the key, kind of defeats the purpose of doing everything online and outside the shop. The next frustration i found was them not putting the items i paid for on the truck. I called and was assured what i ordered was back at the shop. Now i have to use the miles i paid for to go back up there to get what they didn't put on the truck in the first place. I get back to the store and they don't have what i requested, paid for and was assured would be there. Such bad customer service. There was one person that tried to make it right, but that only involved returning the fee i paid for the item they did not put on the truck in the first place. No thought of my time, two trips up there or the frustration of being completely assured that the item was there because i had it reserved. All this in the cold and rainy weather. You need to have a better inventory system. If people don't bring items back then you need to update that in your system so that you know you don't have them to rent out. Don't try to sell it if you don't have it in stock. This was an awful experience and i won't use them on my next move. It shouldn't take this much to know what you have in inventory and what you can do for your customer. I wouldn't recommend Uhaul to anyone.Katrina M.

The inside/desk representative that checked me out was nice & efficient. I'm not sure why I was required to wait an additional 20+ minutes for my equipment to be sanitized and air to be inserted into the tires,.. when my reservation was made over a week before my arrival?? Make sue lot attendant reads gas gauge correctly. Marked as 3/8 and truly below a quarter tank. This was minor to me but second time this has happened. Could be very important to the next person. Great customer service here as always!!VAN H.

After Hours drop off. On occasions I need to rent, this is my go to uhaul location. Place is large, typically good inventory on hand. Only issues were with Uhaul app and my Galaxy android phone. Uhaul app could not register or let me drop off with App. Took another 1+ hours with customer service to make sure they had necessary pics for completing drop off. Customer service representative was excellent.James G.

The staff at the U-Haul that I visited was very rude and unprofessional and had me walking the parking lot looking for the truck that I needed. And then the muffler was so loud that I was not going to drive it and I went in and exchanged it and again I had to go look into the parking lot in the freezing cold. The UHaul cashier at the 775 Georgesville Rd Columbus, OH 43228 location was pleasant. She asked how many miles we anticipated needing one way. We said 60, she said she'd give us 60 miles without additional charges. We thought that was super nice. When we turned in the truck we were a few tenths shy of 60 miles. The check in cashier at Packmail in Marysville, OH said we didn't need to do anything, he didn't offer to look at the truck, said we can just give him the keys which we did. I received an email receipt after we got home only to see we were charged for 6.3. We've used UHaul on 3 separate occasions and each time, there's been SOMETHING go wrong. One instance we were charged for an additional day. Our truck wasn't due until 8:00 a.m. the next day it we returned it at midnight the same day but the drop off shop was closed and didn't open until 9:00 a.m. the day our truck was due back so they said they didn't see what time we actually returned it. I had contact corporate office to get a refund which took weeks. I feel like you never know what you're going to get by doing business with UHaul. This is our last time doing business with this company even if we have to pay more. The market is too competitive for customers to deal with this kind of nonsense.MICHAEL B.

I got my keys from inside and everything was great but when I was finished with the U-Haul I brought it back and couldn't find lock box outside so I brought the keys inside. As I was walking way The rude lady at the desk tells another employee â€œ well some people need to fucking learn how to read instructions it clearly says to drop the keys in the boxâ€. I was beyond in shock. I have used U-Haul 3 times in past and will not use again after the costumer service. I paid over 100 dollars for 4 hours to get treated like that.ashley C.

I have had great experiences having rented several times in the past using three different locations in my area. This experience was the exception. The two employees I encountered were visibly upset, grumpy and rude. I was asked if I needed help with the trailer and I said I knew what I was doing but needed help lifting it. They were not interested in helping me in any way other than getting me out the door. I was given paperwork and pointed toward trailers in the parking lot. The first trailer I was assigned the tongue was damaged, so I had to refuse it and be assigned another one. I was not helped in any way with locating or hooking up the trailer and a 6x12 cargo is not light. I'm a 54 year old man but capable so I was able to handle it. Most people my age would not be able to do it themselves. They did not check the hook up or anything about the trailer. This was the worst customer experience I've ever had with this location. I will consider going somewhere else the next time I need to rent.Eric D.

This was not my scheduled location initially. Unbelievable UHaul can't have live up to date status of when I can get a trailer at the location I wanted 4 days in advance. Why have online scheduling just to have it changed the next day? Frustrating and I'll look to borrow first next time. Wouldn't have cared and would have booked based on the availability at the LOCATION I wanted, but to have it changed after I booked online is definitely BAIT-AND-SWITCH. Totally disappointed.Roger M.

Worst experience I have ever had. Went to drop off the uhaul to the address that was texted to me and it took me 25 minutes out to the middle of a corn field and said I was at the location. So I looked up where I was supposed to go and they did t even do uhaul so that was another 25 minutes out of the way after getting redirected twice on the phone they finally gave me an address to drop it off that was another 30 minutes awaydaniel P.

I pulled into the equipment return location. A sign instructed me to wait. After 5 minutes I finally went into the store and found someone to help me. According to the rental receipt her name is Lauren Bryant. She did not appear to be able to handle a simple one way trailer return. At one point she told me that I needed to return the trailer to the same location I rented a from. I had to tell her that I specifically asked for a one-way rental and that I had specifically chosen the drop off location. Finally, I received an additional $8.00 charge on my credit card after I dropped off the trailer. The charge is simply marked â€œcoverageâ€ on the rental receipt. Coverage of what? I paid for the rental, including the damage waiver, at the rental location.JAMES F.

Well I will be Filing a lawsuit because your Manager for that store on Georgesville Road called and the way she talked to my husband was uncalled for and then they say I’m not allowed on the premises I’ve never been on the premises to get escorted off by the police or anything so she’s made a false police report against me and I will be filing a lawsuit and I’m getting 4 and 6 and 10 involved in it to And I want to know where I done anything to her to be escorted off that promises because nothings ever been done to anybody on there not even been there to do anything And I’m falling I’ll sit on the bed on the behalf of my belongings that you guys sold because I was never fair warning that it was being sold until the day of or two days before and she told me that we could come in the next Thursday and pay it and she wouldn’t had an option or stuff off anyways it’s OK cause I’m fine if I want these lawsuits guarantee that and she only got 10.00 for my thing but I told that I would give her a lot more then 10.00David S. | Overall Experience

We were told we have an 10 x 15 x 10 storage unit. We were happy with this. However, when we came to get the unit we were told we could not have this unit. There was an over reserved for our unit. There two other people reserved for the unit we told we would have. We were given a smaller unit. Everything did not fit. We had to take things home in our car. It took two trips. Overall, everything went well with helpful staff, and the facility is very clean, well lit, and secure. My only issue was that when making the reservation over the phone I specifically asked if this location was accessible 24-hours and was told yes. The fact that it is not unless you pay extra is extremely misleading. We will try to work with the scheduled hours and evaluate how it works for us.Justin D. | First Impressions

My only problem was when we opened the storage unit (and mind you this is the FIRST TIME EVER I have rented from anyone) there was a DEAD MOUSE laying on the ground! I had to go get someone to clean it up however now I am a little leery about leaving my stuff afraid mice are going to end up in the boxes.
