Leslie CI had a wonderful experience at the U-Haul on Phillips and University I have rented one of the containers that are from the trucks that they have on their lot now I think is a very ingenious way to do the old trucks first of all love them ! The little girl at the front counter was very pleasant. I even had an issue and accidentally got her in trouble I hope I fixed it!

MICHAEL FThis survey is based soley on my one day Dec 23-24 truck reservation and why I wouldn't recommend this location to a friend. It is a convenient location for me; however, I might try to use UHaul one more time and hopefully receive better service. PROS; EASY to rent online ... COMMUNICATION to stay updated … ALLOWED to park my car on premises. It was intact when I returned with no additional dents or scrapes ... NO bill dispute ... PERMITTED to pay with debit card ... CLEAN seats and somewhat roomy inside. CONS: ENSURE staff doesn't make you feel you're a bother. The manager at this location had a good attitude, but the guy who worked with her when I picked up and returned the truck had a somewhat nonchalant behavior ... RESERVED trucks should be in above average condition. The steering wheel appeared very loose (so much I held on so tight I had blisters). Also shook quite a bit, whereas, I was only able to safely drive around 45-50 mph. It also had over 135, 600 miles, perhaps this was the reason for excessive loudness and raggedness when driving plus damage appearance on the truck ... MAKE CERTAIN wiper blades are up-to-date; rained on return trip between cities upon return and vision was impaired ... ALLOW a certain amount of free mileage for long distances. I had to pay .99/mile ... MAKE it mandatory to assist customers who isn't tech savvy when trying to use app to take pics of truck damage prior to trip (I asked but was refused assistance for this trip, which makes no sense since a company should want their customers to be protected and not charged for damages not incurred by previous customers. I did take regular photos to protect myself, but was confused on the app) ... OFFER military or senior discounts (wasn't able to receive neither discount at this location) ... EXPLAIN fuel policy more clearly. I wasn't aware that I might not receive a full tank and need only to return to gauge when picked up (unfortunately, this policy was an inconvenient issue because I needed to arrive at my destination by a certain time and started out disgusted since I had to stop and get gas before heading out for trip)
BEVERLY RThe vehicle which was a 15-footer needs to be replaced it is old and outdated and smells like burnt oil and tar. The sound of the engine is very scary because it sounds as if it's going to break down so it makes you nervous when you're driving. The office experience was fine. But as for equipment there needs to be an upgrade.

HARRY SOnline when I was looking for a storage unit I didn't think it was going to be so expensive but on 12/11 when I came to put my belongings in the unit , it wasn't accessible! There was a huge trailer hitch that was blocking the storage unit. I went in the office to have it removed and the guy said as soon as they have completed the transaction with the two customers inside that they would come remove it but never did. So we did what we needed to do to put the items in there. I seen the young man walking around the drop off area but never asked if we were ok !

ANDRE JMy experience was initially challenging, but a standout employee truly enhanced it. Upon checking in, there was a delay due to system issues, but the staff handled it professionally and kept me informed. After waiting for over an hour, I was assisted by the manager, J, who explained that the truck was low on gas and clarified how the credit system worked for returns. No problem at all! I drove just a mile to the gas station, but when I tried to move the truck, it wouldn't shift gears. This added to my stress, especially since the truck was older and not in great condition. I called the store to explain the situation, and that's when Ms. Shelita came to my rescue. I can't commend her enough for her empathy during my time of need. She had already selected another truck for me, allowing me to get in and out within minutes. Ms. Shelita took charge and transformed a frustrating situation into a positive one. Michael was also a pleasure to speak with. U-Haul certainly has some remarkable team members!

TERRI B | First ImpressionsThis location had us hook up to a piece of towing equipment that was damaged and Missing one of the two vehicle loading ramps. we never left the location with the auto transport. This issue was the fault of U-Haul and had nothing to do with us leaving the location with the equipment. This caused us to be late with our rental by over an hour and yet when we checked in our equipment, 15 minutes late, they charged us an entire extra day, even though they caused us more than an hour when picking up. We tried on two separate occasions to contact the store directly to extend our rental and neither time did the store location pick up their phone. We were transferred to a call center. We left information for the store manager, whose name is Jamie… The agent assured us she would give Jamie the message for the rental extension. And the manager, Jamie claims that she never got the message even though we heard the agent leave the message for her during our phone call. This location caused us a problem and caused us to have to pay an extra day on our rental through no fault of our own. We did keep the rental extra days and agreed to pay for those extra days, but we do not agree to pay for an entire day when the location itself caused the problem of being late. I would not recommend U-Haul and specifically this location to anyone. They take no accountability for the problems they caused to their customer. And there is no excuse for any business conducting business in that manner. At this time, we owe U-Haul for two days and not three days. We will pay our bill when we have reached an agreement with the corporate office. After having made a formal complaint. hopefully this information saves someone else from confusion, dealing with this U-Haul location, and this particular manager.

When I returned my truck back late the gentleman who said he was the "manager sometimes" was extremely rude to me and my mother. While I was waiting for him to collect the information he needed for the truck he told me I would be charge and extra day for the truck rental and when I asked why he told me while he was walking away from me with a horrible attitude that "I was an hour late with the truck". I'm not sure if he hates his job or what but that type of behavior is not ok.

I did have trouble with texting while driving trying to confirm my pick up location via telephone text messaging regarding the special code you're supposed to input. I ended up calling the 1-800 # and Michael confirmed it for me. Michael was nice, too. That really helped me feel at ease. Thank you all!
TERRY LThis was a stressful move for my family and I. Jami and Brittani (with the blue eyes and red dreads), and the Monday evening staff were extremely helpful and made the process from rental to return very easy. They handled me with care and in the same manner they would like to be taken care of. This is definitely my go to rental location and I'm happy to refer my friends and family for the exceptional service. Thank you guys!!!

Lisa S | Online Move InMy furniture was ruined by rats!!!!! It's appalling that my furniture was sold for $99 when I paid well over $5000 for it. I was lied to in the beginning about getting a climate controlled unit and I had to settle for an outside unit. The staff did not care one way or another about my concerns when it was first brought to staff's attention about rats crawling around my furniture. How do I know….I saw one live and in person. The store manager is never available. This was a horrible experience!!!! I was pregnant at the time my furniture went into storage…July 2022. My child was not going use rodent infested furniture especially when diseases lurk from rodents. When it comes to empathizing with the customer, Cedrick is the ultimate worst!!!!!! I'm still waiting on a call from him about the letters I kept receiving about me being in default when I filed a claim sent pictures and only received $1000 for my furniture. I am utterly disgusted about the lack of communication and professionalism I received from UHAUL. Knowing I have to start completely over has really upset me!!! I will make it publicly known not to ever trust UHAUL with your possessions.

I closed my unit and went to the office to complain and to get the manager and corporates number. The staff that was working had no regard. She didn't acknowledge me when I came in the door. So I stood there and I finally asked if she was busy. She looked around then signaled for me to come to the desk. I explained to her what was going on and told her I needed the manager and corporate's number. She didn't give me anything. Instead told me to get corporate's number offline. As for the manager, I saw there were business cards on the desk so I picked one up and asked her was this the manager. She said yes. I called the manager....LACK OF EMPATHY!!!!!! I found corporate's number off line and called to complain. Moving to yesterday....I went back to the storage to see if I could get the animals on camera. NO NEED!!!! THERE WERE DROPPINGS EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!! MY FURNITURE IS RUINED!!!!!!! OVER $5000 GONE DOWN THE DRAIN! I HAVE NO BED, NO COUCH, MY CHILD HAS NO FURNITURE ONLY A CRIB IN MY OTHER STORAGE. I filed a claim and attached the pictures. I paid over $200 monthly since July just to end up salvaging my hard earned money. The claims department contacted me today and only offered me $1000 because that's the insurance that was offered to me. I didn't know where were levels of insurance...I would have gotten more had I known there were different levels! UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH not to mention when I reserved the unit, I reserved a climate controlled and the 10x15x10 only to get a smaller unit on the outside because what I wanted was unavailable....so why was I able to reserve a climate controlled unit then?????? ANDDDDDD there was a different general manager only 6 months ago. I WAS PAYING $200.50 A MONTH FOR MY PROPERTY TO BE PROTECTED. IT WASN'T....SO NOW WHAT? ONLY $1000 BACK FOR MY FURNITURE AND I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WERE LEVELS OF INSURANCE.....I LITERALLY BROKE DOWN IN FRONT OF THE GENERAL MANAGER YESTERDAY BECAUSE THAT'S MONEY WASTED!!! I am a single parent and I moved back in with my parents for help until I could move back out on my own with the first child....not knowing I would have to start completely over! I am furious!!!!!!!!! I can't take that furniture anywhere with a baby!!! There are diseases that are carried with rodents! So upset! 1651 EDGEWOOD AVE W UNIT 1090

Of course ate through the boxes. Urinated on a box of important papers that were completely ruined. Had to get rid of the entire box and contents.
