This location was fine. HOWEVER, this was not the pick-up location I requested. I didn't find out about the change until I arrived at the first location. I've rented from this location several times with no problems. However, I've had problems with the website a couple of times- I couldn't reset the password on my account via the website and no one was able to help me do that over the phone, either. I had to change my reservation so that I could pick up the truck when someone was there working instead of using the 24/7 rental function like I had planned- simply because I couldn't get into an existing account.ELIZABETH H.

The 10' truck had food crumbs in the cup holders as well as the place below it. There were old receipts and other stuff left in there apparently from the previous drivers. So obviously the truck was not checked out or cleaned before they rented it to us! The person at the desk inside was singing a song in an unprofessional and childish way, like making a song about going to Greenville SC, which is where I was renting the truck and driving to. Seemed very unprofessional. And then to top it off, the driving was ok for the first 2 hrs of my drive, but then as it became dark, I quickly found that the left side headlight wasn't working and people in other vehicles were flashing their lights at me to warn me that I only had 1 functioning headlight. It made for dangerous driving, so I had my wife in her vehicle drive in front of me so I could see the left paint lines on the road, and not wander or weave. I believe that this headlight was never checked before I rented the vehicle for brightness. At the receiving location in SC, the attendee was very professional by contrast. He understood my complaint very well, and took the truck out of service because it was a hazardous drive. The truck also seemed to have weak to failed shock absorbers, because of the amount of bouncing after bumps. I had rented the same exact type of 10' truck about 2 weeks prior, and it rode 10x better. I'm extremely disappointed with this latest Uhaul experience!!!Randall S.

After my experience just a few days earlier I felt I would be better at doing the contactless pickup. WRONG!! The first 2 truck identifiers were no where to be found. When I gave up and went inside to check again everyone seemed clueless. Finally I was told my key was in a lockbox. There had been nothing telling me to do this!!! But again they made me feel stupid. The virtual pickup was completely different from the first day as it didn't have me approve any pictures, mileage or anything. The truck was completely filthy. Someone had spilled soft drink all over the console and floor and everything was sticky. I HAD TO CLEAN IT UP for fear that I would be the one to have to pay for it.Barry B.
This was a horrible awful customer service experience. You need to realize that some folks use your service infrequent and do not know all the ends and outs of pick up especially the supposed â€œvirtualâ€ pickup. A quick exampleâ€¦ the automated system told me to go to the inside desk to pick up the keys. Upon inquiry and finally getting them to even recognize I was there and several looking for the keys they finally decided they must be in the truck. I was told that I should have looked there first like I was stupid. When I told him that wasnt what the virtual site said he replied â€œwell I'm telling you nowâ€. Rude, mean and totally disrespectful. In the end I also didn't get the blankets I had paid for nor anyone telling me I had to be the one to pick them up. My reservation pickup location was changed THIRTY minutes prior to pickup. If I was traveling from further away, that would have been an issue. You should provide more notice. The online check in and check out mobile service failed to work both times. It couldn't determine my location so your mobile process needs a LOT of work. The agent in the office played his music on his personal cellphone loudly and it was not appropriate for a business. I filled up the gas tank to where I saw it was when I left and was still charged for gas when I returned the truck. This rental cost me more than it should have and I had a truly lousy experience renting. Would not recommend, will not do business with again!SELENA S.

I cancelled my hitch installation over a month ago and still have not received a credit to my charge account. The hitch was never installed. Your service sucks.john P.
The lid had been left off the fuse box, probably by someone at the pickup location. When it rained, the fuse box filled with water and shorted, causing us to have a breakdown that could have been avoided. It cost us two hours on trip, but if we hadn't gotten off the highway at the first sign of trouble, the consequences could have been greater.PATRICK L.

Basically it’s a bait and switch your offer the free month of storage when you rent a trailer and then you get to this place and you’re on the second floor and they don’t tell you there are stairs to get to the second floor when your offer the free storage and they don’t tell you that there’s no elevator to get to the second floor so it just sucks or you can pay like 50 bucks more and then you can go anywhere else and find the same amount storage on the first floor so it just stinksLisa T. | First Impressions

This location was understaffed. I have been here on multiple occasions and every time there is not enough staff and customers are forced to wait an unacceptable amount of time. I was charged 2 days for a 6hr rental. There was nothing on my contract that said I had to do anything when I turned in the haul vehicle nor was I told I had to do anything but return the vehicle and drop the keys in the drop box! This was the best experience that I have EVER had moving!! The Manager that was on duty here deserves a bonus/raise!! I observed him multitasking with ease and professionalism! I had left my wallet outside your location before checking out the van. When I was dropping off I made sure to come before your location closes. I went to look for my wallet and when I called I was put on hold for 30 minutes. I decided to just go ahead and check out the van and when I saw that I needed to get gas, there was a van already parked behind me so I was not able to fill up on gas. I tried to call again to ask what I should do or for help moving the van behind the one I was renting but the line was busy and after a hour on hold it was made clear i was not going to get any help that night. The drop off was not convenient. I received an email or text telling me the U-Haul location I was to return the trailer. When I got there I was told there was no room and I'd have to drop it off elsewhere. I rented a mid-sized space on the 2d level. At first I was worried about the access to the 2d floor, but it was perfect for us. Everything about the site was perfect, from security to staff. The women that I meet, who maintained the inside of storage facility was helpful and nice. This has to be one of the busiest U Haul locations in the country and I was just amazed at how smoothly everything runs. I'm not sure who we checked in with when we picked up our truck but he went the extra mile to make sure our truck was ready for us. I don't think you really have anything that needs to be improved. I had to wipe everything down with Clorox wipes and it was filthy. The truck had 23,900 miles on it but when I started it up and drove it you would have thought it had 200,000 miles on it. I paid to have my hitch installed and when the installer found a rusty bolt he refused to install. I did receive $50 back for installation but ended up going someplace else and had to pay an additional $112 for installation. Bottom line, I went to Walmart to get the items I needed and had Tires Plus install the equipment. Definitely a learning experience - I won't go back to U-HaulLawrence R.

When I looked at this facility online, the pictures looked like a one story building. It's two levels. When I was given a second story unit, I asked where the elevators were. The response from the employee was, "this building has been open for over 10 years and has never had an elevator! The unit that I was told to move into still had someone's stuff in it, even though the employees thought it was available. They then tried to switch me into a different unit and the same thing happened in that one. Eventually after trying to find an open one for 30 minutes, they realized that none of that type of unit were available at all. How does this even happen? I was actually assigned a unit number and everything, even though someone still had stuff in it. When the moving van and movers we hired arrived at the facility, there was no one there to explain that they had lost power and that the facility was closed. We talked to duke power employees who were fixing the broken transponder and they let us know what had happened. I had to pay an additional $600.00 for the movers to then take my belongings to their Raleigh storage facility to hold until I could find another storage facility. When I called for a refund the next day, no one apologized. I was told, "i had booked the facility for 11-20, if I had just moved in then, this wouldn't have happened." Called ahead to try and update my reservation to a first floor reservation. Was unable to do it over the phone and had problems initially with the first person I spoke to and gave up on getting a first floor storage. Then TraShawn Chambers got involved and had the situation resolved in no time. Very grateful for his assistance and the assistance of the other employee at the time. He also helped and explained how the facility security worked after we triggered the alarm accidentally. Facility condition was clean and move in was quick and easy. It took two months for them to process my move out. In that two months, I was hassled with mail, emails, and phone calls regarding rent that I wasn't responsible for and statements regarding lien on my property (which had been moved out before my one free month was even up). Uhaul support told me they'd contacted the manager three times on my behalf but the issue was not resolved until I got a phone call from a representative asking me when I was going to pay the back rent and fees. The instructions to access the building worked perfectly, but the doors didn't work. Additionally, there was still a lock on my unit when I arrived at at 7:50pm. This is 10 minutes before they close. When I went to the front, they asked me if I had ever been there before. I said no I reserved online. I can only imagine they're supposed to keep track of those with online move-ins to unlock units before tenants arrive. I was told by the employee, "Word of advice, don't arrive 10 minutes before we close." He went and unlocked the lock I said Thank you and he said nothing in return. Additionally, the climate in that side was reading 88 which is outside the range they promise for climate controlled storage. It's supposed to be maintained from 75-85 degrees. Finally, they promise you a free lock in the unit. There was no lock provided. Online process was easy, but this facility is a disaster. The gentleman who helped us check in ("Y" Caldwell) was extremely helpful and positive and polite. The woman who reserved the storage rental over the phone for me reserved one that was half the size of what we needed, and you can imagine our dismay after traveling 5 states! "Y" was very quick to assure us that he would take care of it and fix the situation. He was compassionate to our frustration over the situation and understanding in our apologies that our upset was not directed at him. He worked diligently to find us 2 storage units that were relatively close to each other, took his time to walk us through how to get there, including highlighting a map and providing us with it AND taking us personally there. He took the time to explain that the codes take 24 hours to upload before they stop setting off the alarm, how to enter the codes, the best doors to unload and come through, and what the best locks were for us to get. As we were in the midst of unloading the truck with helpers and movers and figuring out what was going into each unit, "Y" took the time to walk over to us to let us know his shift was ending and to see how we were doing and if there was anything we needed or anything further he could do for us. I asked a few questions about returning the truck while we were still there and their hours and he took the time to not only answer those questions but to just chat and laugh a bit. When I asked about if we needed to extend our storage a bit, he assured me that I could just call him and he would handle it for me. He truly is an exemplary employee who is not only focused on the customer's needs, but clearly on the entire customer experience. He exhibited excellence and, in my humble opinion, deserves a promotion and a raise. (While he was taking care of us, I also watched him help his coworkers with issues and support his manager all without missing a beat.)Christine L. | First Impressions
