Was super disappointed to get a call less than 24 hours before pick up to be told the Pittsboro location I reserved the truck at days earlier did not have the truck for me. I had to get a ride to the Durham location 25 min away and add unnecessary time and mileage to my trip just to collect my rental.

Van interior had not been cleaned but a staff member cleaned it promptly and willingly, which I appreciated. Only complaint: I was charged a $20 after-hours return fee even though I completed all instructions texted to me for after-hours return. Next time I will use a company that charges $10 more up front but no return fee.

Being a large center is good and you had a lot of selection. Your customer service on the other hand was very poor. The person helping me, while knowledgeable, was managing two phone lines, two cash registers and training a new guy on a third. The line was long and getting longer. In addition to renting a trailer I rented a storage space as well that was reserved ahead of time. He didn't have time to find the reservation so he made a new one, but with the wrong size. I had to wait in the long line again to get it fixed. Nice guy, but way overworked and that caused lots of confusion as he spread his attention over too many places.

The instructions for where to find the key for the truck were wrong. I had to get the key from the attendant at the desk, not from a key lock box on the truck...

Everyone who worked there was very nice and went out of their way to help. Only problem was it was way understaffed and took a while to get service at times. This is a management problem and they should be hiring more people, especially for the time when lots of people are moving into town!

When I reserved the unit, it was suppose to be an outside unit. When I got there it was no longer available. I had to take a unit inside the building and also to the other end. I was pressed for time so I had a choice but to take it.

This location took $73.01 off my cars at the time of pick up. Then when I used another card to pay the remaining upon return they charged me the original amount, and additional mileage. So I was charged twice. I've called 10 times to correct this issue staying in the phone for what seems like hours with no answer. I am very displeased with this experience.

Agent switched my drop-off reservation from the location I wanted to "flexible." When I went to my intended drop-off (where the initial reservation was), they wouldn't accept the return. Found out that U-Haul had updated my drop-off to a location across town. Had to drive 20 minutes to new location.

The drop off box was at a location that had to be walked to quite some distance and around a corner. As a young woman, in a new city and unfamiliar with the area, who also turned the keys in late at night, this was absolutely terrifying.

I arrived before the customer who was help before me. In other words I was overlooked and the older man who arrived after me was helped before I was. It was rude for uhaul to skip me and help the older white gentle man, instead of the young minority (me). Clerk did not know how to apply 10 dollar coupon. Seems like nobody cares about the customer. Or at least the minority.

I was charged 10 dollars for an appliance dolly when I reserved a normal dolly. The desk staff stated they were out of normal dollies and that I would get an appliance dolly instead. I requested that I be charged 7 dollars instead and they said that would be fine. However, they did not change that when I looked at the bill afterwards. Otherwise, the van was in good order and the drop off was easy.

The unit that I was told to move into still had someone's stuff in it, even though the employees thought it was available. They then tried to switch me into a different unit and the same thing happened in that one. Eventually after trying to find an open one for 30 minutes, they realized that none of that type of unit were available at all. How does this even happen? I was actually assigned a unit number and everything, even though someone still had stuff in it. The employees found an available inside storage unit that I used for now, but I really needed an outside access unit. The whole experience was incredibly frustrating.

I was given an upper level unit. When I asked where the elevator was located, I was told "this place was built 14 years ago and it has never had an elevator. You should have known that!" There were several similar remarks made to me and to other customers during what should have been a 5 minute interaction. I believe customer service could be better. This is by far the best storage unit I've ever used. It's incredibly clean, feels safe and secure, and has nice extras like free moving carts and a restroom. The staff was super friendly and informative and made us feel happy and safe storing our items there.

Jeron Robertson Was awesome! He made sure that all my needs was taking care of. From renting the uhaul truck to moving my stuff out the storage. We have used this U-Haul for truck, trailer, and storage. The staff have always been very helpful and willing to help us solve unexpected problems. The staff have often gone above and beyond. While we are happy to no longer be paying fees for storage, we will return for any truck rental or storage needs that we have in the future.

When the moving van and movers we hired arrived at the facility, there was no one there to explain that they had lost power and that the facility was closed. We talked to duke power employees who were fixing the broken transponder and they let us know what had happened. I had to pay an additional $600.00 for the movers to then take my belongings to their Raleigh storage facility to hold until I could find another storage facility. When I called for a refund the next day, no one apologized. I was told, "i had booked the facility for 11-20, if I had just moved in then, this wouldn't have happened." I was very disappointed by the staff's response and lack of empathy. I have received my refund and will not be working with or reccomending u haul in the future.

Called ahead to try and update my reservation to a first floor reservation. Was unable to do it over the phone and had problems initially with the first person I spoke to and gave up on getting a first floor storage. Then TraShawn Chambers got involved and had the situation resolved in no time. Very grateful for his assistance and the assistance of the other employee at the time. He also helped and explained how the facility security worked after we triggered the alarm accidentally. Facility condition was clean and move in was quick and easy. Great overall experience!

It took two months for them to process my move out. In that two months, I was hassled with mail, emails, and phone calls regarding rent that I wasn't responsible for and statements regarding lien on my property (which had been moved out before my one free month was even up). Uhaul support told me they'd contacted the manager three times on my behalf but the issue was not resolved until I got a phone call from a representative asking me when I was going to pay the back rent and fees. After I told her I'd moved out months ago and submitted a move out request before my free month was over, she promptly said she would remove me from the system.

The instructions to access the building worked perfectly, but the doors didn't work. Additionally, there was still a lock on my unit when I arrived at at 7:50pm. This is 10 minutes before they close. When I went to the front, they asked me if I had ever been there before. I said no I reserved online. I can only imagine they're supposed to keep track of those with online move-ins to unlock units before tenants arrive. I was told by the employee, "Word of advice, don't arrive 10 minutes before we close." He went and unlocked the lock I said Thank you and he said nothing in return. Additionally, the climate in that side was reading 88 which is outside the range they promise for climate controlled storage. It's supposed to be maintained from 75-85 degrees. Finally, they promise you a free lock in the unit. There was no lock provided. Online process was easy, but this facility is a disaster. I DO NOT recommend anyone move into this location.

The gentleman who helped us check in ("Y" Caldwell) was extremely helpful and positive and polite. The woman who reserved the storage rental over the phone for me reserved one that was half the size of what we needed, and you can imagine our dismay after traveling 5 states! "Y" was very quick to assure us that he would take care of it and fix the situation. He was compassionate to our frustration over the situation and understanding in our apologies that our upset was not directed at him. He worked diligently to find us 2 storage units that were relatively close to each other, took his time to walk us through how to get there, including highlighting a map and providing us with it AND taking us personally there. He took the time to explain that the codes take 24 hours to upload before they stop setting off the alarm, how to enter the codes, the best doors to unload and come through, and what the best locks were for us to get. As we were in the midst of unloading the truck with helpers and movers and figuring out what was going into each unit, "Y" took the time to walk over to us to let us know his shift was ending and to see how we were doing and if there was anything we needed or anything further he could do for us. I asked a few questions about returning the truck while we were still there and their hours and he took the time to not only answer those questions but to just chat and laugh a bit. When I asked about if we needed to extend our storage a bit, he assured me that I could just call him and he would handle it for me. He truly is an exemplary employee who is not only focused on the customer's needs, but clearly on the entire customer experience. He exhibited excellence and, in my humble opinion, deserves a promotion and a raise. (While he was taking care of us, I also watched him help his coworkers with issues and support his manager all without missing a beat.)

Not the best set up in terms of getting things into storage units that are down winding hallways. As there was only one way in or out, it was difficult if multiple people were there at one time moving. I had to wait about 3 minutes for other people to move out of the way to be able to get my stuff in. For units that are farther from the entrances, there should be more entrances put in for easier access to them.

There wasn't a lock in my unit even though was told, after standing in a long line, that it would be there. I had to get back in line to get it. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

I needed a small storage unit and a van to move my son out of an apartment until he knows where he's going next. Jarron was the general manager, Jeremiah helped me, and there were at least one or two other people working. They were all incredibly professional and courteous, and incredibly aware of how stressed people are now, because of covid-19. I overheard several phone calls and they were always polite and friendly with those customers, and with the in-person customers they were as well, and offered all the protections (distancing, hand sanitizer, etc) to keep everyone safe. But beyond that, they worked REALLY WELL together as a team. It was obvious that they liked and respected each other, communicated well, and were primarily concerned with making sure the customers got what they wanted. Would absolutely use again.
