I was told to leave the keys in the truck and roll the window and leave the equipment, then I get a call asking did I turn the equipment in. Then a couple hours later I get a receipt stating 2 different cleanings I needed to pay for. I have been renting for U-Haul for years and worked for them and have never turned a truck in dirty. This has been the worst experience ever and will never use U-Haul services again

The vehicle was returned at 3 pm on 6/2/24, though I received an email at 9 pm on 6/4/24 saying I hadn’t returned it yet. Staff at the location was not customer friendly or knowledgeable of their business processes, equipment location or payment software.

The parking lot was hard to find parking in/tight spots because of two rows of double parked trucks I had to sit and wait over 20min for a spot to open up. When I got the van it smelled of pee and the level of gas I was told it was at wasn’t accurate. I didn’t have time to go back and ask for a new van due to timing with my movers and time spent waiting for parking.

My Bin wasn’t lit well enough. Sorry I can’t remember her name. The young lady that help me to get the bin. She was very professional, courteous, people friendly, greet customers with a smile. When I need anything she was very helpful and she would go way out the way to satisfy the customer.

This experience was far from good. They couldn’t find my truck, it took forever to actually get the right one where the numbers and the plate actually matched, gas was not where they receipt info said, it was way lower. Employees where not nice. The windshield was cracked in more than one spot. Not great.

I have been renting trucks to take items to the flea market for about 4 years now and about 75% of the time I have multiple various problems picking up my truck. The last 3 times, the location assigned me a 24/7 truck that was blocked in by other trucks. Two weeks ago, I called to confirm that the truck would not be blocked but when I arrived the next day, it was. This is a very frustrating experience because the app doesn't deal with this situation well and calling customer service takes minimum 45 minutes to resolve the issue. Sometimes, I'm directed to another location. Again, this is only one issue of many that I experience but this one seems to me to have an easy solution which I've addressed in a phone call with the manager to no avail. Please help!

The person that did the rental just gave me a map with the location of the unit. Didn't explain how to use the code. Thank God there was a young man there that took me to the unit and explained how the code works

Be more helpful and accommodating to customers. Have more than one employee working at the counter when there are more than two customers in line and more than two to three employees also behind the counter but sitting on their phones or casually chatting with one another. Also, be willing to provide customer with printed receipts promptly because 30 minutes is an excessive amount of time to have to wait. I was actually instructed by employees to go outside to locate the employee responsible for returns to come finish my transaction; however, the employee was busy cleaning the truck I returned.and prioritized that over finalizing a transaction.

If I am not mistaken, I did this review previously but okay, first I relayed to the location that I was behind so I was late, but the system was down when I got there, that took a while, once paid for I asked was everything included in the price which the auto transport should have been included in the price. After my truck was loaded with UHAUL help which was fantastic, those guys were strong and loaded everything that they possibly could with no problem, payment was easy. I drove back to this UHAUL location to pick up my vehicle and place it on the auto transport. They could not find the transport number and it was not listed on my receipt. I went in the yard and showed one of the men my receipt, he took it into the office and didn't come back, then I drove the truck around the corner and sat for over 10 to 15 minutes, then came out and explained to me that the auto transport cannot be paid for until you actually come to pick it up, but I explained to the UHAUL specialist that I already made payment, he stated that he called and left a message with the GM and called the young lady who submitted the transaction that morning. To make a long story short I had to charge my card again for the auto transport. The UHAUL specialist stated that the GM Everette would be giving me a call to resolve the issues. I never received a call but at least I checked my bank information, the second charge was not added to my account so, I guess it was resolved, just a mess! Every in and out of the rental should be relayed to the customer, I thought that once I made my reservation with all options that I requested, would make it a smoothe transaction, not so.

I have rented from this location before and never have I had so many issues. The system was down when I arrived to pick up my truck. I asked if the amount I was paying includes everything? The answer was yes. I left with the truck, came back after loaded to get my auto transport hitched to my truck, it was stated to me that I did not pay for it yet although my receipt total clearly had it included in what I paid. The receipt did not have a number for which transporter! It was a big mess, I paid again just to get out of there. I was told the GM would call me for resolution. No one has called. Not surprised. Awful experience this time.

A female "assisted" me with my U-Haul transaction on Saturday, April 20, 2024. I am 70 years old and had never used the U-Haul App before. So, I needed assistance. She was not very helpful, somewhat flippant and it caused me to be 1/2 hour late to meet the movers. Finally, an African-American male saw how frustrated I had become and he assisted in finalizing my transaction. I am very appreciative of him.

Dealing with the rodent infestation at this location was extremely frustrating and upsetting. I incurred damages to items that held a lot of sentimental value, which brings about deep pain by just thinking about what my experience was like while being a customer over the last two years. I made a reservation, and was told the unit I reserved wasn't available. I then had to have a representative (Giovanni) assist me with getting another uhaul storage location. He was great he was the only thing that deserves 5 stars in this process. The link I received for the new location to complete the check in said that I didn't have a reservation which I did. The app didn't work at all for online processes. Eventually I was able to move my stuff in. Then I wasn't even able to turn my uhaul truck to the new location because it was after hours. I had to take the uhaul truck to where I originally requested. I honestly feel like uhaul owes me some miles for the inconvenience.

The wait times at the store was unacceptable. Each time I visited the store I had to wait. For example during my check out process there was only one rep assisting customers at the desk. While he was checking me out of my unit, he was assisting multiple customers on the phone (customers called to pay their bill) and he was assisting customers behind me. I explained to him that I am paying movers by the hour and needed for him to complete my out check out process more efficiently; to my amazement the rep continued helping other customers. As a result I wasted approximately 40 mins and left unhappy.

Even during VERY busy hours on phone contact or in person the staff was always accommodating, very informative and patient with me. On phone contact and I was placed on hold, the representative would always check back and let me know that someone will be with me as soon as possible. The facilities and storage units were always clean. I felt very comfortable with the customer service at the Capitol Heights, MD location.
