First, I would like to thank Kevin for assistance in clearing up a problem for me this evening September 28th, that should have happened on September 27th, when I returned the truck. The truck that I was issued was a 15 footer. I t sounded really bad, but we used it anyway. This truck need not be available for rental anymore. Vehicle wasn't working properly. Breaks went to floor to stop and truck was shaking a lot. We were afraid truck was going to break down while driving. Hub got stuck and we couldn't pull all the way down. Glove compartment didn't close so it was poking out on knees. Steering wheel was not working when making turns. Make sure you always get their insurance, that's what saved me from all those violations.Destini B.

I know this is not specific to this location but the $20 charge for after hours service is a bad policy. I have rented many trucks and sometimes returned after hours and never was charged a fee. This last one I returned the truck @ 4:58 but the door was locked. I didn't think about doing the mobile check in. Yes it is noted on the contract but doesn't feel right.Earl M.

Had trouble with the Uhaul app when I picked up the truck but the lady at the location was very helpful and had things straighten out in a few minutes. Truck was in excellent condition. Extending my rental an extra 24 hours was easily accomplished with a simple phone call to the location office. The most difficult part was dropping off the truck after hours using the app/website. The first time I tried the checkin process froze and I had to restart. Second time through it worked okay. All in all a very good experience, I would definitely rate from this location again.Duane T.

The guy who was at the front desk was not very friendly or customer service oriented. When we arrived at the front desk he was working with another customer that had a large order. He did not greet us, or tell us he will be with us in a few minutes. When it was finally our turn, he appeared angry and frustrated about something thst occurred prior to our arrival. Luckily he left to check to see if you all had something in the back. Another guy came out and waited on us. He was totally different from the other guy, very friendly and made us feel appreciated as customers. I am in the customer service business and I know firsthand it is not easy. First, this was not the location I requested. Second, when I got there I had to wait 40 minutes because the credit card processors weren't working and people were having issues paying. Third, they didn't have the size truck I rented and had already verified the day before they would. Fourth, they forgot to give me the furniture pads. Very unhappy with how long it took and that I had to drive 10 miles round trip out of my way to rent the wrong size truck.Darrin K.

When I arrived to pick up my trailer, there was no one behind to help me. An employee walk out from the back, walked past me without saying anything and not telling me what was going on. After waiting for nearly 20 minutes, the manager drove up, apparently running errands. She started to talk to me to help me with my reservation, I started to answer her question when another employee entered and talked over me and the manager. Worst run office of any business I have experienced.David C.

The staff on drop-off was awful. The woman watched me pull into the equipment drop off section as she helped another cuatomer directly behind me attach a trailer to a hitch. She then walked inside and had me wait 5-10 minutes before walking inside myself to find her chatting about nothing related to work. I had to ask them to help me check out even though they clearly saw me pull in not 5 feet from them to the equipment drop-off after waiting 10-15 minutes.Evan H.

I had to wait over an hour hour for the 7 people ahead of me to get serviced. More desk help would help prevent wasting your customers time. Also change your "Your U-Haul Order Has Been Updated" emails to indicate what has changed in the order. The employee who hooked the trailer up to my car completely missed the hole on the hitch ball when he installed the pin through the hitch so when we pulled out onto busy 4 lane highway -Capital Blvd - the trailer pulled off the car and began dragging. Fortunately, he did properly connect the chains so it didn't wander or roll into traffic. Employee was also non-responsive to questions about turn signal issue - just muttered ,â€it's not our fault. It's Audi's faultâ€ before walking away. We waited a few minutes because we weren't sure we were cleared to go with one side of lights not working. We walked back into store to check and we were advised we were good to go. Two employees took pre-departure pics of hitch assembly. We have pics of trailer hitch after it fell off and after we had it properly connected.it. A comparison of the photo U-Haul has and the one we have should show the difference and length of assembly inserted which shows that it was not in far enough to be connected and the properly connected assembly. It created a very dangerous situation. On a positive note, Kevin was awesome getting set up with the proper ball hitch assembly. A quick trip by Audi resolved our signal issues and the rest of our trip was uneventful. The trailer worked properly once we had properly connected it for towing.Brooke B.

Obtaining the truck was the easiest part of this whole process. Returned the truck between 4:00PM-4:30PM on the same day it was rented (07/24/2022). A half hour to a hour before they closed. It started pouring down rain the very second I handed the key over to the same individual (male/name unknown) who helped me with getting the truck. I get a phone call while at work the following Tuesday (07/26/2022) at 2:41PM asking when I planned on returning the truck. I informed the individual (male/name unknown) that the truck was returned the same day. He replied that the issue would be investigated. I get another phone call later that same day (07/26/2022) at 6:06PM asking the same exact question as the first phone call. Once again, I informed the individual (female/name unknown) that the truck was already returned and that somebody already called me earlier that day about the same thing. She replied she would add any pertinent information to the notes and that the manager would look into it. Hold on, bare with me it gets better. The very next day, Wednesday (07/27/2022), I get another phone call at 7:22AM asking â€¦ WHEN DO I PLAN ON RETURNING THE TRUCK!!!!! This has got to be a joke at this point, right. I guess the third time was the charm cause I haven't received another phone call since. Praise Jesus. Im hoping somebody finally put two and two together, took a look AT THE DAMN SECURITY FOOTAGE where I'm clearly seen escaping the downpour to wait for my Uber/Lyft immediately after â€¦.. RETURNING THE TRUCK! Get it together U-Haul cause I was one more phone call away from making an appearance.Thomas U.
The Customer Service Rep was less than professional. He was slouched in the chair, did not know what a tow dolley was or how to hook one up to a vehicle. He was yawning and using foul language while servicing us. In the meantime, he was carrying on other sidebar conversations with other coworkers, including how he was late coming to work and how he was supposed to have left at 1pm, but was working over to makeup his time. Another service rep had to help him with many portions of our rental, even though we already had a reservation. When I tried to pay with cash, both young man looked like deer in headlights, like they had never seen cash. The initial rep tried to tell me I could not pay with cash and then other guy came over and showed him how to do it another way under his name. However, when I gave him 3 - $100 bills, he asked me what were the correct bills to create the correct change for me. As a business owner myself, I would be mortified if this was the type of individuals representing my business.Frances J.

The 15 truck we originally rented we couldn't get since it had a rip on the tire. We had to go to a cargo van without a ramp which made moving difficult. They should inspect cars more before handing the keys to the renter. Then the gas â›½ï¸ gage wasn't working in cargo since it still showed a full tank of gas and when they emailed receipt it had 3/4 we didn't go many miles and put a little gas in.Nanine B.

I purchased an indoor unit that should have been accessible via a large bay door from the outside. The first unit I was assigned was not vacant and was a mess. So, I had to go back in and get a new unit assigned. Also, I was told I had to purchase a lock and it was not included despite what the website said. However, when I got the reassigned unit that was vacant, a lock was included. Storage unit rental was not very professional. Starting with the website false advertisements on deals. After paying was told that my reservation was not available and that I would need to go all over town to get my truck and storage unit job done. Then I after website problems I could not pay my rental. So they send me a rude letter of threatening to reposes my things . Not even a week late. Then I had to sit in a big line when all I needed was to pay. If that wasnt enough they're payment system would not take my credit card which I first paid without a problem . Counter lady was rude and obnoxious trying to say my card was declined. When my card was fine but they're payment system is faulty and without proper connections. Only addition I would make, make the out door storage lit up a little more. I am not sure what camera setup there is outdoor storage but I every time I went in before daylight, it was always dark. Management at this facility has been very helpful and accommodating. On Sunday I found the young man that helped me was not overly friendly and didn't communicate enough. As my there was confusion around my storage reservation, he had to contact his manager (who was not working). Of course this was not a problem, but it would have been less frustrating for me if the associate would have just communicated more information about his dialogue with his Manager. It would have helped us out to have someone there for a later shift that could assist us. It took us a long time to return the uHaul truck we rented, because we finally finished unloading it and the office hours had just ended. The app would not work on my phone at all, so rather than having someone right there that could help, we were on hold for forty minutes with the uHaul company. One we finally got through to someone, we had a forty minute phone call with a representative just to do this process of returning the truck. It was really hard to go through that after being totally exhausted from loading and unloading the truck that day. Overall great customer service, clean place, we were happy. I never got moved in. 2 days and several trips to the store (check cameras and phone logs) and the lock was never removed from the unit. You don't know this but I'm moving and in the process of looking for a home. Hopefully that search only takes a month or two but with this market it could take up to 6. My stuff will be in storage until my search is done. I cancelled my unit with your company and went to a competitor because of the poor customer service. Your staff was friendly, but they didn't actually complete my transaction. Seriously the basics weren't done and it cost you whatever the final tally would have been for the allotted time I end up needing a storage unit. Your facility is literally across the street from my current home and I'm gladly driving the extra 10minutes up capital to Public Storage just so I don't have to deal with the hassle of your facility. I don't usually offer unwarranted advice but I will here: take 5 minutes and ensure that each customer transaction is actually complete and you'll avoid situations like this in the future. It would have taken all of 2 minutes to remove the lock off of my unit and I'd happily be depositing my stuff there now. Also getting your customers names right is probably important. My name is Joshua James Foots and it was entered as Joshua James in the system. Not a big deal in my book but honestly the first step to establishing a good relationship is knowing the correct name. They never took the uhaul lock off of my storage unit. I waited 30 minutes when the store was open and then I had to go because I had another appointment. The gentleman helping me said "I'll be sure to get the lock off in a few more minutes" I replied "Great I'll be back tonight to move in". I show up at 8:30ish with my friends to help me unload and the lock is still there. Office is closed, called customer service and they didn't have a phone number for anyone locally. It takes all of 30 seconds to take a lock off of a door. So as far as "move in" goes perhaps once I actually get moved in it'll be nice.
