We are trying to get a full refund. Truck was not maintained and we spent 6 1/ 2 hrs on the side of the highway in 90+ degree weather. We had to reload the truck ourselves because of poor timing on the part of your roadside services. This site was the third site we had to go to to pick up a truck and it was not the size we reserved. We incurred hundreds of dollars in excess costs.Dale R.

Man the counter so customers do not have to wait 15 minutes for assistance. Have a more resolution based mindset for customers when a problem is presented. Seek assistance if you can't solve a problem.Sara U.
Seemed like there was only one person working when we came in for pick up. Very friendly, but took a long time since he was both inside and outside support. Our trailer had bad wiring, which he then had to fix. Seems like location would look at scheduled pick ups and have adequate support to make process easier. The U-Haul employees at this location went above and beyond for us several times. The website, however, is a different story. I stopped counting how many times I was frustrated at every turn with the U-Haul website. Made me want to get back in the systems analysis and design field to fix it. There was only 1 employee working and line was long to pick up rentals on a Saturday morning. I had to wait for 45 minutes to get the uhaul which was pretty frustrating. Besides that everything was fine.Marne M.
I was told by the person who made my rental arrangements that - despite a listed p/up time of "9:00 am" that was flexible. When I showed up @ 7:45 the person I dealt with was VERY unpleasant and clearly irritated that I was "early". His attitude made the entire transaction a very unpleasant ordeal and I'd not risk feeling that way again just for the "privilege" of renting a trailer.Michael C.

Early-Pickup webpage was problematic. Had to use associate in building. Truck had significant steering wheel play causing lane wandering. Engine rpm's on three occasions raced taking transmission out of Park. Had to shut engine off and try again. Truck was a hazard.Richard L.

My information received on reservation was to pick up and drop of at the Burlingame location. However staff there insisted my reservation was at East beltline, they did change it for me since I had printed my reservation out as proof of pickup location. They also stopped working on my reservation 3-4 times to help other people and other workers.Carolyn L.

The signage directions for dropping off after hours are awful - it's is NOT by the propane tank, it's a QR code on the wall! Took 15min to figure that out.Janet H.
Have the trucks start with a full tank of gas. Then we can fill it to full before bringing back. Very annoying that I had to stop for gas 45 min into my trip and then trying to guess how much fuel to fill it up to before bringing it back.Daniel W.

The guy that installed the trailer, installed it wrong. The trailer dropped, nearly causing an accident. We had to lift the vehicle off of the trailer, took us an hour to get the trailer hooked back up and able to get out. Someone needs to contact me regarding this rental.Jessica B.

The Manager at counter was not helpful. I had arranged to have 2 dozen furniture pads at pick up. I was told at pick up that he was out. I had movers coming within the hour to load. No assistance rendered to locate a store that had them. I had to call around and drive to another location to get these, delaying my loading. Wrong gas reading on contract. Manager was bothered when I had to go back in and have this adjusted. Truck was ok but seemed like something is going out in transmission. Truck pulls to the left.Todd H.

The team was handling a busy weekend. I could tell they were frustrated, especially considering the other U-Haul location was sending customers over to them when they didn't hVe any trucks to offer. With that being said, they were airing their grievances in front of the customers and also using inappropriate language. I, for one, wasn't offended, but they never know who could walk in and they could be assisting.Eric M.
Representatives at the front desk we're very rude, not knowledgeable, worked with little to no sense of urgency and swore profusely during the check-in process. They repeatedly said how much they hated their jobs. They also talked about stealing money from customers when they paid in cash, instead of logging the sale to the company.Jeff R.
The truck we received was dangerous , something was wrong with the steering, the check engine light was on , there was food underneath the drivers seat and napkins as I'm driving it starts flying all over , dangerous as well ! The location was a mess no body had a glue what was going on ! I made reservations for the Hudsonville location, 1 day later I received a call from u haul there was a mistake on uhauls web site I have to drive 25 minutes away for u hauls mistake and get charged as well !! I told the customer service representative I needed the trailer I rented until the following morning, he said no problem. I dropped it off the following morning and they charged me for another day and said I was supposed to return it evening before. I have rented through you guys several times and nothing like this has happened. I am very unhappy with having to pay for a Extra day which I didn't have the trailer.Michael W.

1 tire on car hauler trailer was worn down to the wear bars. Not much tread. Another tire was not inflated properly. It had 27 lbs in it. Had to stop after going 200 miles and put air in it. As I was going 1070 miles from Michigan to Texas, I was suprised at the condition of the tires.David L.
Nothing against the people that work at this Uhaul, but the trailer I rented Leaked horribly, The back door was a real pain to close, The side walls had no real way to attach any bungee cords and or straps. The brakes did not function, (I got an error on my dash, my truck has a towing feature) And it was dirty inside The people at the facility were great, but the equipment was rough, I work in the transportation industry, and I know right now parts are extremely hard to get, but that trailer was beat up..Mark S.

The original location was Plainfield. They gave my reserved truck away just before I got there. This location was much further away. The truck was dinged up, the brakes made noises and were squishy. It crackled while trying to accelerate. The road noise was more than normal for a uhaul. It was a poorly maintained vehicle.Nathan H.

Inside of the uhaul was dirty, there was supposed to be a dolly inside, the people were unprofessional, when we returned the truck the people didn't even go look at it when I came to get the truck they wouldn't show us we're it was we had to find it are selfs. Have phone mount available to use for GPS. Difficult to drive something that large and hold phone at the same time or balance it on dash, especially in big cities with a lot of traffic and highway changes. Have in the contract that the customer will be charged if the truck is returned without it. I also had difficulty with the cup holders. My drinks kept falling out in bumpy stretches.Jessica B.

This is a very strange place. As you drive up you can see the doors for the storage units on the outside of the building, each with a unit number marked on it. But once you are there, it turns out they are fakes - just painted on a blank wall. The actual units are inside. A sign says that there is heat to keep it from dropping below 45 degrees, so if you have something that shouldn't freeze and the heater actually works that would be a good thing. The manager rented me a unit, had me pick a PIN and then led me to it. First he taught me to enter my PIN on the Check In/Out keypad, and then do it again on the Open Door keypad a few feet away. There's a notice on the Check In keypad that if you don't check out again when you leave, they will charge you a penalty fee. Then he told me I was in Section D, and led me to a staircase going up! I asked if there was a way to load in without climbing stairs, and he said there was a loading dock out back. The hallway needed someone to sweep and pick up empty bottles and such. The unit itself was swept clean, and was empty except for the rat poison dispenser. I don't know if every unit got one, or if I was just lucky. When I was ready to load in I parked at the loading dock and lifted my boxes up to it from my car. I used my PIN at two keypads to get in, opened the door - and there was a steep ramp leading from the dock to the storage level! There were carts I could use, at least. There were notices on them that I would be charged a penalty fee if I didn't put them back where I found them. I also saw that there were storage units along the ramp, the doors were at the same height as all the others, which meant that the bottom of the doors were anywhere from half a foot to four feet higher than the place you'd stand to load into them. You'd need a ladder to enter. Uh... A couple times I used the front door to enter the building instead of the loading dock. I did my business and then the door wouldn't let me out again! I tried crashing it open hard (I am not a light guy) and several different ways, but it wouldn't open. The first time this happened, I went and told the manager, and he said he knew there was a problem but they weren't able to get it fixed, and I should do whatever I had to get out when I needed to. The second time that I couldn't get it openI went out a door marked Emergency Exit Only, which took a lot of force but did open up eventually. There was a sign on it that anyone going out of it without an Emergency would be charged a penalty fee.Gerald E. | Overall Experience
Physical access to my unit in door D is quite difficult for heavy items. The carts help, but the ramp is very steep. Getting the items to the bottom of the ramp is also a challenge unless you are using a truck that matches the dock height.Gerald E. | First Impressions

The general manager, Ryan, was rude and unhelpful. However an employee named Jared was amazing and bent over backwards to be helpful and problem solve when the computer system for self-storage wasn't working. He was apologetic for the behavior of his manager and did a great job smoothing things over with customers when his boss was rude and impatient with them. I only need until for 2 weeks, and when I went to cancel the man said ok, then I got a bill, call uhaul and they said the would email management. I asked for a copy and was told it was an inter office email so I could not get one. fast forward 30 days and another invoice! The check in process was fine. After getting a flat 9 mins from our location we had to wait 5 hours for roadside assistance because not only did it take almost an hour to just get a hold of someone they got our location wrong sent after waiting 2.5 hours then had to wait another hour for a guy when the job took less then 5 mins to fix.
