The trailer was really dirty from road grime and had not been washed since the prior rental. The yard at this location felt very congested especially when there was a lot of units being returned. I found the yard staff and the people who helped me with the contract were excellent and provided great customer service.Neil D.

The trailer appeared well maintained, it was certainly not clean though. Only one suggestion, the trailer floor is ridiculously slippery. Especially when wet. It's dangerous when walking in the trailer and it almost insures your goods will move around inside the trailer. Why do you not use a wood floor?David A.

I was unable to get the trailer I ordered because of an equipment problem. They then gave me a different trailer, which was ok considering everything but the trailer didn't have running day/ night lights. To me, this is extremely dangerous and I was flashed by many different drivers because of this. It was not the Barlow Trail location problem by any means but having those lights would have been a lot safer and better in my mind.Zachary W.

Belle Donnelly was fantastic when we arrived. We had originally booked our van at a self pick up location but were unable to to pick up the van. We then called customer service (Diane ?) who was also amazing. Belle was knowledgeable, efficient and very professional, helping out others without delaying our processing either. Never received the equipment I paid for. I was very unimpressed as I received two phone calls the night before to confirm and received an email confirm the rental of an appliance dolly with my truck. I had to dispute the charge for the appliance dolly I never received!Marwa A.
I do not know what is going on at this location, I have a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with a factory-installed Hitch for pulling trailers. I was told by the site personally, that unless they could have the rubber on the hooks for the safety chains that I would not be allowed to take the trailer. This policy seems to be at this location only, as I have never been advised of this at the other locations around Calgary. Also, the yard person was not properly trained to use the unit for checking equipment in and out of the yard, he took over 40 minutes to process 2 vans ahead of me. When he went to check in the trailer, he had the Gaul to tell me that if one of the sealed light assemblies failed I would be charged for the new light assembly. What is going on?? You need to make sure NEW HIRES are properly trained and competent on the use of all equipment they are required to work with, this employee needs to be supervised and trained in the process of Customer Service, life is not all about him. I did not need to hear that he does not like or understand the iPhone he was given to do His job, he needs to take the time to learn it properly or be supervised until he becomes competent in it's use!! I wasted 45 minutes when I was checking the trailer out for use, and then another 45 minutes to get checked in, taking 20 minutes t check in a small van is rediculas.Stuart C.

We moved during winter time so we knew we were going to have some issues, however the truck got stuck every 10 minutes, the tires on the truck were not meant for a winter calgary move at all. When we called for roadside assistance we were told we were going to be charged over $100 for the tow truck and it was going to take 3+ hours to get to us. We are moving, we are in the middle of a residential sweet. We cannot have this huge truck parked here for 3 hours. We didn't feel that uhaul would've been able to accommodate.Brittany P.

Would have been nice if van was running prior to my 9am pickup. Was covered in ice and had no scraper to clear windshield. Had to sit there for awhile to melt so I could drive off. Also, ice and snow covering van ID numbers so difficult to find in lot.Joe G.
Often the swipe card machine didn't work saying error or it didn't work when it was below 7 degrees or windy. The front sliding doors weren't unlocked on time and the garage doors often weren't unlocked by mid morning. Found ourselves constantly going to the office to get things taken care of. Charging someones account thats not even on the rental agreement or anything. And just paid for it for a favor, only having a bank card number somehow can access my bank and automatically withdrawel from it.. owing charges that arent my responsibility. Fucking bullshit. I didnt rent the vehicle, i simply paid the same day charges needed for a friend to be able to move. Havent contacted him whos name is on the contract and signed your waivers. I appreciated having access to moving carts. it would have been nice for there to be some sort of supervision as people were using more than one cart and there were none left which delayed my ability to move stuff out of my unit. Staff is friendly however they need to work on their accesses I haven't been able to get into my locker with my card or code since I got it, I've always had to go to the desk tell them they tell me its a error with their system and there's nothing they can do so just sit there and let the alarm go off. So if somebody broke into my unit they'd just assume it was me and I pay 150 a month and I can only access my locker during store hours and thats it. In the short time, I was a Uhaul customer (for storage space), I found the facility clean, better than average rates, and the staff were very helpful. The only drawbacks were the long wait times for customer care (by phone) and I also found that the storage rate no longer fit my budget. Your location is fine... but uhaul has horrible customer service over the phone and I will NEVER EVER support the company in any way (storage, trailer moving vehicle) if I can at all help it. I find it sad because the people working at the physical location a1re really wonderful.. its just the company I have a problem with. Your rental vehicle has demands I do not need at a regular rental agency. Even after having stored and paid on time my rent for my storage unit for almost a year and a half, your employee refused to honour my rental reservation made online after not providing her with more then 2 numbers to contact me. This is the worst customer service experience that I've ever had and I usually don't complain. It took months to resolve a minor issue because the location's manager didn't notate an agreement he and I made. It ended up making it difficult for anyone to assist me because they couldn't act on word of mouth. Unfortunately I experienced a lot of miscommunication, and misunderstandings throughout. When I knew that we weren't going to make it in prior to closing, I phoned the storage facility to discuss options. I was informed on the phone that my father could check me in early, collect our pass and after hours access code, and that we could arrive and unload after hours. Upon arrival, my father was told this wasn't the case and we'd have to return the following morning. Had the information been communicated over the phone when we called, we would've altered our plans accordingly. The following morning, my reservation couldn't be retrieved. Apparently the system wasn't able to locate any reservations using confirmation numbers, and we needed to set up a new reservation. Once checked in, the facility is well maintained, and the process fairly straight forward.Adam S. | First Impressions

I was promised a drive up storage unit on my initial call. They put me at the far end of the building which added 3hours to the move, so far, and probably another 3 hours on the way out. The guy at the front said he would give me 24 hour access but the swipe cards did not work. When we saw the storage, we knew it would be difficult to fit the 26' trucks belongings into it, so the we told the Afterhours lady and her suggestion was to "pack better". We had to stack items do we could climb because I'm not 12' tall. The $10 lock they threw in does not make up for the nonsense that I endured. If there was any other option, I would be using it. No real problems. There was once that they called us to come look at the unit as they thought water might have gotten in. But it was fine. The place was rediculously hard to contact on the phone under the old management, but I never tried to contact them since the change of manager. I was guaranteed so many things and absolutely nothing worked out. It was nothing but a complete headache. From having to travel an extra 3 hours on my moving day to pick up a trailer in the opposite direction- to the business being closed and had to go to another location. To being promised a storage unit, and a reservation was made to find out it was not. And had to call around and find my own storage unit- to be told that I had a ground level storage unit.. and then showing up and being told no I do not. No compensation was given on UHAULS end .. Uhaul moved our stuff from a uhaul truck into a uhaul storage unit. They just threw everything out of the truck into the unit. I love everything about your business, except the parking lot. The entire process was great until I got to the actual move in. I arrived in the loaded van (I rented from you) to find the parking lot jammed with a tracker-trailer various sizes of moving trucks, vans, and trailers. It was bedlam. You have to wait to load in, in a long line of people returning equipment? That's not efficient. When I drove around the end of the building to access the storage facility from there, we had to get out of the van and move your trailers out of the way to be able to get through. Your staff is fantastic 100%. Your entry process and parking lot are a gong show 20%. Your average is 60%. Only thing I didn't like is the door latch was tricky to open. Cut my hand once. Probably should wear a glove when using the sliding latch. I left in middle of COVID 19 but I was made to come in and sign my cancellation because I was told we had to review the locker together it never happened just went in and signed. could have done that by fax instead of traveling 90 minutes ( moved) and dealing with the public. The staff (except 3 (Michelle, Jake, Wyatt) are the only good things about Barlow location) were very poor service! My unit was blocked 90% of the time I was there by trucks or trailers, then when the snow hit, and started to melt it froze my door shut, to which they then tried to open my door with a fork lift and put a hole in it! This location makes me NEVER want to use uhual again, and neither will any of my hundreds of family and friends! I've tried to resolve my issues many times with little to no luck!
