The only problem was the truck I was given had a damaged front bumper and no damage stickers on it. When I Asked the LOT person I was told it was ok they had a record of the damage and take a picture of it, I went in to the office to see if the damage was known to them, and there was no record of the damage, so I got a different truck, I didn't not want responsibility for damage I didn't do, Took a extra 20 minutes but no problemDarrell David S.

With UHaul you pick the dates for pick up and drop off. Network to hire people to pack, unload and drive. Or drive yourself! The trucks are good to drive when observing the speed limit of 55 miles per hour.Valarie K.

It was the most painful vehicle rental process I've ever experienced. It took over one hour from arrival to get my vehicle. I don't know why I bothered making a reservation when I basically had to give one of the two clerks all the same info. Only two people working the counter with a super lengthy rental process and a very large line of people waiting. The process should be more like renting a car. Also receiving a rental vehicle with less than a full tank of gas and then having to refill to the same indication in just silliness,benjamin John A.

Slow check in, it was a Saturday and they only had two people on the check ins. Pretty disorganized, no real help or procedures in the yard. Trailer had s9me lights that didn't work but as the brake & signal lights did work, I took it anyway.Lyle Erwin L.
First they made me pick up at another location, then it wasn't the van I reserved. I booked at 11:30, they finally gave me a vehicle at 12:30. Had to wait in the freezing rain for more than 30 minutes. Install a rain cover or set up a tent if you want customers to wait outside. I was sick all day thanks to you. Total disaster. The line took an hour. It was raining and we had to wait outside. We had completed the online check in but had no option to skip this lineMarcel B.
The problem here was , I asked for a easier drop off location which would had been Airdrie, but while I was still on the road I got a text and phone call that I wouldn't been able to use the Airdrie station because they have reached their limits. That sounds to me a U haul problem not mine, and I would get an extra day and extra Milage, which I don't need because I dropped off the vehicle some day. I would rather get a rebate because now I used more gas . That just did not make us happy customersKatrin M.

It was very hard to drive in due to all the equipment all over the place no organization when it was time to move out there was only two trollies for everyone to use so I had to carry a lot of my stuff. The price of the hitch was either comparable or much lower compared to other competitor but the service was superior. The job was done professionally and Mario (U-Haul technician) even showed me how to properly attach a trailer into it afterward. I highly recommend their services to anyone.Chau P.
Went to pick up truck at 7am on Oct 14th. They gave me a key and I asked where the truck was and they told me just to go look for it. I walked around yard for 20 minutes and could not find the truck. I went inside and said I need help please. They told me to go look for the only one guy working in the yard. I finally found him and he looked and could not find the truck either. He was the only person who was helpful. He then went inside and got another key to a different truck which was not in yard either. He then told me he had to go to the overflow lot to look for it. He came back with the second truck and he said I know it is filthy but the powerwasher is broken. I have never seen a uhaul that filthy. When driving the car behind the truck the mud and debris flew off it. We finally left the yard about 8:10 and had movers coming to load at 8:30 so it was a rush with everything then.Carol S.

Had several bad experiences previous to this. For example I thought I had reserved a unit at Barlow Trail, drove from Edmnonton 4 hours with a 15 footer U Haul truck, hired two young men from your moving company, arrived around 3:30 pm and was told there was no reservation for me even though I had spoken 3 different staff in 3 different call centres who told me that my unit at Barlow was reserved but staff at Barlow said it was not. I was forced to go across the street to PS Storage and pay an outrageous amount for a unit. I was quite angry at U Haul and while write the CEO later. I was called and told to go to a different location because there was an issue with the truck at the booked location. The new location was not expecting me and did not have a truck for me for 24 hours- so we had to have it back that night. The truck had fuel cap indicator light on and they said to just ignore it, the truck drove really poorly. I made the reservation on the 3rd of September, changed it on the 9th to the 30th. Requested a 10 pack of pads. Reservation was made for 9am. I get there, and the line is out the door. Not much can be done about that (COVID protocols). Finally get to the front of the line. Told no pads, and that I should've been there at 9am. Truck was FILTHY, spilled perfume all over, and sticky floor. Ruined my brand new Bamboo bedsheets. Next time I need a moving truck, I will look elsewhere. Super slow service. What's the point of checking in online if I still have to stand around in a line for 30 minutes? Products such as mattress covers were out of stock and staff didn't know if that or if there were more. Had to wait for someone to solve a computer issue with no help from other staff. No parking at the location except street parking and no signage/instructions on what customers need to do. Bathrooms not available even though everyone is standing around for about an hour waiting for the slow staff. The only good thing was the vehicle guys at the pickup, who were great, the guys that were there at dropoff were unprofessional kids.Lewis Adam H.

Train staff to discuss the parameters of their contract and what sort of things are important, also discuss with the patrons what your liability insurance actually covers. Overall bad experience I was nickel and dimed and forced to buy a new 2' chain for over $30 even though I paid the 10, further more the chain had minor scratching on it and they charged me for a new one. I feel like the customer is not a priority it's all about making money I would think having a customer leave feeling satisfied would be more important than a $10 part that had been Inflated by 300%. I will never come back to this location and likely look for other rental services elsewhere next time.DARREN C.

I did the online sign in before arriving which included downloading photos of my drivers license. I also checked all the boxes refusing all the add ons like extra insurance for the rental 5 X 8 trailer. I expected this to speed up my process at the site. I HAD A PROBLEM RETURNING IT. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE THAT WERETHERE WHEN i returned it was terrible. They do not know what they are doing. More training is needed. They are panicking. There were 3 people working. And they could not find my name when I am returning it. But I did receive a text thanking me that I had rented from then few minutes that I was there. the overall rules of uhaul are archaic , the staff are un-personable and unhelpful , ( with exception to one young lady named Hillary ) my TIME - as a paying customer , seams too be , COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY INVALUABLE AND DISRESPECTED most of the staff seamed confused , disorganized , and disinterested , and they were slow to react , or actually help in anyway and they did not make any of our interactions efficient , or intelligently executed , in anyway mostly because , they were bound by the companies policies , the overall feeling that I was left with , was that , I was an inconvenience , and a chore to have to deal with , as a customer of theirs , my view and overall experience could be summed up by saying that , - high school students doing a school project on how to rent a space , and execute that transaction , would do a better job , I will rent trucks ( with trepidation and anxiousness out of pure necessity going forward , but I wouldn’t use uhaul storage space for free going forward ) thanks for nothing at allDAN F. | Overall Experience

I had selected 3 wheeled dollies and a pack of blankets online in my reservation, but when I arrived on location they weren't available. This made my moving plan impossible and I had to spend $150 to make up the equipment shortfall. This is completely unacceptable. The dollies should be tracked or otherwise linked to the online reservation system or it serves no purpose to select them. The agent also took an exceedingly long time, and asked me for my emergency contact details two times with about 7 minutes gap between indicating to me that part way through, she lost 7 minutes of work. I rented the plastic storage bins for this move. It made the move so much easier! The staff helped me load, went above and beyond to remove a recently installed car seat to fold my seat down (new grandma). Staff helped again to unload. 1. The uhaul station is extremely packed, narrow and difficult to navigate with many customers at the same time when it is busy. 2. The customer service rep we dealt with at no point explained the deposit system yall use for debit vs credit cards, nor does your website indicate that, plus she immediately began speaking faster rather than stopping to explain anything, including where to find our truck and basically told us to 'ask the guys outside' instead of taking us to the truck, like she did the customer literally before us. I can only assume she did this because we questioned her about the deposit, which we only found out about when we went to actually pay, and it wouldn't go through because we weren't expecting to pay $160, as she kept quoting our total of $71.76. 3. In general, yalls system and set up at this location could use a lot of simplification, and actual communication from your front desk reps.Edward Stephen H.
there were many issues. First, we had to play where is Waldo with the truck. Keys were handed over with a vague description of the truck's location on the lot. Secondly, no one provided any orientation or even a safety briefing on the vehicle. Last, there were many issues with the vehicle. The driver's door did not remain shut unless it was locked! The truck continuously sounded like the transmission was going to drop out, the lights; although they worked, did not shine more than a few feet in front of the vehicle and they were pointed to the extreme right. Any night driving had to be completed with the high beams on continuously, the wipers were in horrible shape, the window was easier to see out of without using them in the heavy downpours. I had no proof of insurance provided, no one explained where any paper work was incase I got pulled over or had an accident, overall the people were nice but the actual completion of any of the tasks usually associated with a rental was not completed. the vehicle had damage on the front end, had less than half a tank of gas, and had all the other issues mentioned before yet no one made any notation of these issues, even upon returning the vehicle I made a point t to reference these concerns and told the staff that I had taken photos as proof, but no one even bothered to make note of the problems was just asked how I paid and then told to leave the keys.Olivia R.
This was better than last time... The last time I used a U-haul trailer the U-haul lady insisted that she hook up the hitch. I let her do that while I checked out the condition of the trailer. The first two trailers they tried to rent me had tires worn down to the belts so I thought I should throughly ceck everythibg out! She got me to try my lights and then sent me on my way. About 15Km down the road I went over a rail-crossing and the hitch poped off because she hadn't tightened the hitch down to the ball correctly. The trailer poped off the hitch as a tractor trailer was approaching the same rail corssing in the opposite direction!!! Needless to say, U-Haul just about killed me that day, so yes this experience was much better than my previous one, but I don't know if that is a good benchmark to go with.Zach S.

I stored my stuff there for 6 months and my stuff was safe and nothing was stolen. I went to rent a trailer or a van/truck and there was a 20 person line up to get service on Friday at 4:30pm. I waited in line for 30 minutes and the line didn't move so I decided to go home and try to move the next day. The next day I went to go rent a trailer or a truck and the service people said they couldn't help me. I went to Home Depo to rent a trailer for $28. I went to open my storage and there was a lock put on so I couldn't open it. I had previously paid the rent bill so there shouldnt have been a lock on it. I had to run around the uhaul place to look for staff to help me and managed to get my stuff moved. There were no dollies for me to use. I went to check out and they didn't want to reimburse me for the extra month that I paid. They said I should have moved out before the 28th. My 72 year old mother rolled her ankle coming in the storage unit place and not one employee actually gave a crap.. the manager was too bizy worried about whether doors opened and closed and stuff like that.. told her she had to go into the office to fill out a report.. my mom is 72 just moved here because she lost her husband (he passed away) and was treated like crap.. I asked for ice for her ankle as it was swelling up already and brusing and the guy said sorry we don't have anything like that on site.. so I took my mom home to rest and ice her ankle well I came back to move her stuff out if the unit.. was told anyone in the office could do the report.. I came back to file a report and got told only the managers can do that and she left for the day.. Belle was the one I talked to she had emailed me a few time ect this happened on the 13 of July still haven't heard back about anything.. out of Provence rates are way over priced for someone on a pension and needing to move for financial reason and because she lost her husband.. you guys should be accommodating for that kind of situation..Jamie M. | Overall Experience

Is this a joke? How can I rate this storage facility when I was denied access to it? I made my online reservation weeks before my moving date, when I arrived to store my belongings, I was told that the reservation was not valid and that the facility didn't have any more units available. I was shocked and utterly disappointed, I asked to speak to a manager and was given the 1-800 number, I called this number and explained my situation, I asked to get this resolved withing 24hrs and I was hold that somone was going to call me but NEVER HAPPENED, this was the worse experienced. The unit we were in allowed a huge accumulation of dust to enter the unit and all of our stuff was dirty when we removed it. Further the security system on the unit did not seem to be working for almost the whole duration of our time there which made us feel very uncomfortable with our stuff there and no alarm in place. Staff were freindly and helpful. But my wife reserved a drive up storage locker online and when I arrived the unit was not available and our reservation was lost. The only units available were on the second floor as far away from the elevator and loading dock.jason david L. | First Impressions

Storage space we got with our package even though they gave us a 26ft truck. It was one 5x10x10. Called and booked a second 5x10x10.. when we got there from edmonton the Reservation was still not completed. Storage lots were not saved. Upon renting my unit and being assured move in was complete, I attempted to access my unit within my access time. Sadly, I was denied. I spent the next hour on the phone outside of my prospective locker trying to gain access, but nobody was able to help. I was told to return the next day during office hours. The following day I returned to the store, where they issued me a swipe card and assured me I would have no issues moving forward. Which was great, until I showed up last night in desperate need of accessing my items in storage. Again, my pass code didn't work, nor did my swipe card. Luckily a kind gentleman let me in the building, where I went quickly to my unit and unlocked it to discover THE UNITS AREN'T EVEN ALARMED! DEALING WITH UHAUL has been the most useless experience ever! Not to mention the HUNDREDS of dollars I've had to pay due to their broken promises again and again. The whole moving experience was easy. Storage facility was easy to access. Staff were available to help if needed but gave you your space to move out in peace. Kristen was amazing in checking me in on time. She was super helpful as she made sure my swipe card worked for self storage as I was having trouble with it at check in. She was super friendly and cared about completing my check in so I could have my hired movers get started right away without wasting any time. There was another tall gentleman(don't remember his name) inside the self storage facility as well who was super friendly and helped us with any questions we had regarding storage and our container. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for moving trucks and storage and would use this same place again if required.Praisy E. | First Impressions

Staff is friendly however they need to work on their accesses I haven't been able to get into my locker with my card or code since I got it, I've always had to go to the desk tell them they tell me its a error with their system and there's nothing they can do so just sit there and let the alarm go off. So if somebody broke into my unit they'd just assume it was me and I pay 150 a month and I can only access my locker during store hours and thats it. More staff would have been helpful - 1 h waiting in line, with sometimes only one person having to handle all the customers ( And that at 9 am at the proposed pickup time); Also - don't see point of onlinecheckin, which we did, if check-in for uhaul and storage still takes over 1/2 h at thecounter. But on the other hand: courteous and helpful staff at checkin - storage manager Even took time out from her busy schedule to show us the facilities, which were clean and well maintained. I love everything about your business, except the parking lot. The entire process was great until I got to the actual move in. I arrived in the loaded van (I rented from you) to find the parking lot jammed with a tracker-trailer various sizes of moving trucks, vans, and trailers. It was bedlam. You have to wait to load in, in a long line of people returning equipment? That's not efficient. When I drove around the end of the building to access the storage facility from there, we had to get out of the van and move your trailers out of the way to be able to get through. Your staff is fantastic 100%. Your entry process and parking lot are a gong show 20%. Your average is 60%. I will recommend your business, but I will make sure people know it's not easy to access (on busy days).Janice D. | First Impressions
