Due to coronis 19 we all had to wait outside which was a pain but an excellent precaution due to social distancing. They had 2 people tending to customers and they were fast and friendly.

Excellent service at this location and I spoke to Lisa on the phone and she was incredibly nice and incredibly helpful as well. I rented a motorcycle trailer for my dirtbike and it got really muddy, so I called to let them in the morning after dropping it off, to see if I could either come clean it myself or I would rent it again for the day to clean it myself, because I was worried about a fee for cleaning the mud, and Lisa was so understanding and actually humorous about it, and ultimately didn't charge me for cleaning at all (or make me clean it like I was prepared to do lol). I think most rental places for basically anything would have taken advantage of this and charged me a high fee for cleaning. Anyway she was overall great to deal with when I was expecting some resistance too. She also sold me a storage unit at that same location because she was so helpful and asked the right questions. Will recommend 100% and talk to Lisa she's great.

I was at uhaul at 7am as per uhaul agents advise...i did not get uhaul until 930am...and then i even had to call when i dropped it off. In the morning i was transferred four times and got put on hold for 45 mins

We were firstly sent to the incorrect location by the service representative on the phone. When that clarified, and we arrived at the correct location of 520 Meridian Road NE, we were told there were no trucks available (even though we had a reservation) and we were asked if we could use a van. This was crazy...how do you expect us to move a full house in a van? If we wanted a van, we would have booked a van, not a truck! We were told to wait (outside if I may add) for an hour while they messed around inside helping other customers. After a while, it was clear they forgot about us. When a service representative came outside, we asked for an update on the situation. She rudely looked over and said, I'll get to you when I get to you and went back in. Finally, a young gentleman came out and we requested some proper service. He was accommodating and took down our details and went in. Within 10 minutes, he had a truck reserved for us. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be ready for two hours which greatly delayed the time of our move (which if I may add, was an urgent move due to our safety at the current place). We came back at 1:30 and thankfully there was a truck ready. I believe had it not been for the young employee helping, we would not have gotten a truck yesterday. U-Haul needs to get their stuff together...and might I add that I will be contacting u-haul for a refund as we had to pay extra for a larger truck than we needed. We had no other option.

The trailer was dirty with road grime on the outside and had broken plastic from a previous rental all over the inside. Function wise the trailer was in tip top shape!! I'd also like to give a huge shout out to the staff at this location!!! I was extremely busy when I arrived there and considering we are dealing with the Covid pandemic the staff were very fast, efficient, polite and still provided top notch service!!!! Thank you so very much!

The staff here was great! I have never had a worse customer experience from a manager though. I had a booking contract for 24 hours but then Donna called me and told me I could only have the truck for 8 hours and it would cost the same price. I had scheduled a bunch of work to happen surrounding this move, but this messed up a bunch of those plans. She was immediately rude when she called me and was extremely patronizing. I have already recommended multiple people not to use this location and will likely talk to the BBB about this incident.

There was an adjustment made to my reservation the day before my move and it forced me to have to upgrade to a bigger truck for more money because the hours weren't long enough of a rental time. They also made changes to my order they changed the truck number without telling me. the truck was filthy in the cab and in the cargo box. None of the employees seemed to know what was happening at the time of pickup.

Poor customer service. Seems like Uhaul will do anything to blame things on you. I was scared to drive the vehicle after the things written on the contract blamed everything on the customer. Never renting from Uhaul. Also please tell your employees to stay in fresh air for 5-10 minutes after smoking as i had to take my inhaler after the employee chose to walk in right away after his smoke break.

This experience was absolutely disgusting. The earliest I could book my truck was 530pm on a Saturday meaning that I would be moving until about 930pm. The staff at the Barlow location forgot about my order and I ended up waiting an hour because of this and not securing my truck until 630pm causing me to move until 1030pm. When I was done I attempted to return the truck but a really bad snow storm hit calgary. En route to the Barlow location, the truck got stuck on a hill and I could not drive up it. After several attempts I had to reverse down the hill and return home where I safely parked the truck. The reason I could not drive up the hill was because the truck did not have snow tires, which is absurd because this occurred at the end of February in Calgary, AB when it is notorious to snow at that time of year. Being a grad student and out of a recent break up of a long term relationship, I specifically budgeted very carefully for this move. Being worried I was going to be charged an additional day I scoured my uhaul portal until late into the evening, after being already exhausted and stressed from my move, to figure out what I could do. I found an after hours page and submitted a note explaining my circumstance and where the truck was via an online template. I fell asleep and woke up in the morning to the truck not being there in my parking lot. Considering I did not receive a text or email, which seemed to be common practice for uhaul up until this point, I thought the uhaul had been stolen. Having recently had my own personal vehicle stolen a week before this, the extreme stress was warranted. Then I spoke to staff at uhaul and they had no record of where the truck was even furthering this extreme stress. I played phone tag with uhaul all day trying to figure out what had happened to this truck. I checked my voicemail and received a very crackled voicemail merely indicating that the roadside assistance team had retrieved the truck. They did NOT indicate whatsoever that there would be a charge attached to this service. I got a call from uhaul 1 hour before closing that day informing me of additional charges, and if it wasn’t paid in 7 days it would go to collections. Obviously stressed from a lack of sleep and worry that this truck had been stolen, I went directly to Barlow to discuss this. I offered to pay what I had agreed to (approx $80) but the manager refused. Despite my logical explanation and massive inconvenience Of this entire ordeal there was no attempt at helping to accommodate the extremely poor communication on uhauls part, and no attempt in acknowledging the surprise fees that a grad student moving out on her own certainly could not afford. Visibly stressed, I did not have the key on my as I was near Barlow when I received the phone call so I headed directly there to speak with someone in person. The management told me if I didn’t return the key by closing I’d be charged an extra day ONTOP of the unexpected fees. Creating

The product was and staff were good once we got there, however they called the day before we moved to say that we could only have the truck for 6 hrs instead of the 16hrs that the website and contract said was available. I suppose they make more money renting it twice in a day but we would have been screwed if there were any house possession delays.

Your online service indicated we could rent for 24 hours then we received a call 1 day prior to our rental date indicating we had only a 6 hour rental. Your store was so busy at time of check out that it took over an hour to obtain our trailer BUT we still only had the 6 hours rental time. TOTAL BS

For storage, provide “free” better moving equipment to support customers moving furniture into storage, I.e. today’s mattress do not fit into your “mattress cart”, and add at least a few flat bed style carts to move heavy items. Appreciate the free first month storage...Makes sense as I may rent another U-haul truck to move the items to a residence.

The truck we rented was on time, the people who arranged it for us were amazing as there were not many trucks left. The truck we had sounded bad while starting, but it kept running! Great response, great staff, thank you for making what was an amazingly difficult day, somewhat okay.

I came to this location when I moved last year at this time. Last year the service was awfully slow, taking upwards of 15 minutes to pick up your booked truck. This year, service times improved GREATLY. Not sure what systems you've changed but it's been a much better experience this time!

The staff (except 3 (Michelle, Jake, Wyatt) are the only good things about Barlow location) were very poor service! My unit was blocked 90% of the time I was there by trucks or trailers, then when the snow hit, and started to melt it froze my door shut, to which they then tried to open my door with a fork lift and put a hole in it! This location makes me NEVER want to use uhual again, and neither will any of my hundreds of family and friends! I’ve tried to resolve my issues many times with little to no luck! And I will be contacting head office with all the pictures and complaints I have with this location AGAIN!!!

I initially signed a for 7am to 6pm (I did my decision to book and planned the moving day based on this schedule). It was changed to end at 3pm and I found this when I got my key. Because I am working during the day I was not able to get the call letting me know of the change. It looks that they don't know how to leave a voice mail or send a text to call back.

My experience at this location was the best I've had as a customer in many years. The CSR that helped me was very friendly and helpful. They took extra time to help explain how to check in online, and even helped do a pre trip walkaround. I will definitely use U-HAUL for any of my future moves, and will recommend to my friends. The lady who processed our reservation was super efficient and friendly, I was highly impressed! The only downside was that the van wasn’t easy to find. Once we moved the car we went looking and couldn’t find the van. We found an employee and he had to move another van to get ours. Previously when I’ve rented cars or vans they are accessible right away, only a small thing but it took away from the fantastic service at the desk!

Booked uHaul in advance for pickup. Used Mobile option. Showed up at our scheduled time of 7am, found our uHaul, but was blocked by all other Uhauls so we couldn’t get out. Had to drive back home in our own vehicle since the actual store wasn’t open until 9am , then waited on hold on phone for 30 mins, and the rep told us our only option was to wait until the Uhaul opened 2 hours later at 9am.
