Only issue was the trailer wasn't well cleaned out (though it wasn't noticeable initially), and there was a screw from a previous user's dirt left in the trailer that I almost missed when I was cleaning out the trailer (sweeping the dirt out onto my driveway) prior to returning the rental location. This could have caused me a flat. Otherwise, no issues.

Also planned for / reserved availability of appliance dolly to be told (as first customer in the door in the morning!) it wasn't available led to potential injury for my two sons, and absolute unavoidable damage to a staircase wall manipulating a very heavy item out from a basement.
Ken D.I booked a u-Haul at Location#1 first on over 20 days prior to our move, and I was told by u-Haul that they cannot fulfill my reservation one day prior to the reservation date. Time and location were changed to location #2 and one hour late. On the day, we were called 30 minutes prior to our reserved time by location #2 saying they don't have a truck for us and they don't open until three hours later. They asked me to contact u-Haul. Contacting Calgary u-Haul scheduling went good as the operator was extremely helpful. However, the experience of changing time and location on a very short notice is very frustrating, especially for long distance moving. Experience at our final location was excellent.

I have heard it is a management problem and it needs to be corrected. More staff are needed and clearly fluent in English should be a requirement not broken English. Referring to front counter staff. I have no doubt this place needs a new manager after talking with staff and other customers. I'm very disappointed :(
Donald Laurence L.When I picked up the keys, I asked for extra time, at least an hour. I was told it would be ok. But the order/contract never got updated. When I went out to inspect the truck, the appliance dolly and furniture dolly were not in the truck. When I went back in the office, i was advised that there were no furniture dollies left, which are issued first-come-first-served. What is the point of a reservation system? I was caught totally off guard and faced a real challenge moving furniture down a long hallway to an elevator. I have used U Haul a number of times of the years, mostly at this location. This is the only negative experience that I can recall.

Jennifer c. | First ImpressionsI had a very poor experience at this location… I understand they were busy with long line ups… But I stood in line twice 15 minutes each time for one of the staff to just allow other people walking in to just go straight to their counter… people were disposing of their own personal furniture while moving in their storage units I noticed also… I feel that there’s no visible bright direction where to punch in your code because I was punching in at the wrong place which then made me go back because my card wasn’t working… Meanwhile it was because I was not using the right one… I had gassed up the vehicle I rented when i went to return 1st time but was so busy and I wasn’t able to unload due to full spaces so I left with an arrangement with staff member that i would try again next day and not be charged another day… I ended up returning later in the day to unload because I was not able to do it the next day and i was charged again for the gas… when I went to unload my stuff in my storage I could not open it so I thought that there was something wrong with the locker and ended up having to switch to one that did open but I did not realize that the locks were just sticky and needed to be WD-4’d.

This is shameful and the reason Barlow has the reputation that it does dating back a number of years. It would save everybody a lot of time and money to simply credit my rental of the truck between Calgary and Corona. Everyone seems to be ignoring the fact that this is not my fault, I have been upfront transparent and proactive while Uhaul has not only broken their customer agreement but also put me in a position of having to spend the time and at least $2000-$3000 to have my truck transported from Calgary to corona because of time constraints which were entirely Uhaul's fault. I hope you will reconsider this proposal and save every One involved a lot of time and embarrassment in the process. I'm asking for the bare minimum and resent the fact that your own staff has gone from turning against you when it was your decision to now turning against me when I'm not standing there in person. This is a regrettable experience and I'm hoping that levelheaded Uhaul employers, area managers are corporate will One involved a lot of time and embarrassment in the process. Erkut S. | Overall ExperienceThe parking lot is so full of thick ice it's basically a dangerous skating rink and I almost fell multiple times. In freezing weather below zero there were dogs chained up outside on the ice barking. The area where you pull up to unload and enter the indoor storage area was full of trucks and trailers empty and in the way. There was a trailer parked diagonally across two spots so my boyfriend had to pick it up and roll it out of the way so that we could pull our truck in and unload it. The carts at this location are awful with bars all over them instead of flat carts making most of them useless when moving. The place was under construction, dirty, and most of the lockers down are row were broken off their tracks. After I checked in with the girl at the Uhaul front desk the lock was still on the door when I started to unload my truck. The door of the unit was broken on ours and the employee had to fight with it for over fifteen minutes while we stood and waited. All this time the clock was ticking for us to drop off the Uhaul at a different location after we unload it. Frustrating. The staff did their best but the facility is poorly maintained. Way too many vehicles parked there, almost no room to drive around in there with a car let alone a truck. No parking really at this location. Awful experience.

There was a lot of time wasted trying to get the uboxes. And trying to get the trailers hooked up to the truck. We were told that the truck would be ready and all hooked up, which it wasn't. And the second time we went back for our second trailer of uboxes, it was the same all over. We were told to wait with the trailer, but then I was told to go into the office to release the trailer for us. Once we were at the second uhaul centre, the setup was not set up for the uboxes. The boxes are put on one at the back to open, the other one is on the side but you could not pull the trailer into the loading area and had to unload outside. The unit I rented was broken so they moved us to a different one further away from the door. When we brought back the second trailer, there was someone in the other bay so we had to wait until they were gone because we couldn't open the second door because there wasn't room. Once we able to start unloading, we were going as quick as we could. We had two more items to unload but we were told that they were closing and we had to leave. They wouldn't even let unload the last two pieces. We were told that they were open 24 hours but they were closing at 7:00 and it was past 7:00. But we were never told they were closing. I was not told when I rented the unit or when I picked up my swipe card. We had to bring those pieces back to my place and unload them there. And I don't have room for them but we had to return the truck and uboxes so they had to come here because I am not paying to move them again. Overall, I will not be using uhaul to move out my things. I will rent movers to do so and will not recommend uhaul to anyone after this experience.

You have some staff in advanced stages of life trying to navigate their way through your computer systems, whether it be Uhaul Rentals or Uhaul Storage the checkout times are ridiculously long. I stood in line for no less than upon check in. I cant help but think perhaps an easier format be implemented or invest in more in depth training for these staff, as She was indeed a pleasant person. However I will also say this 1 employee made sure she went above and beyond to make sure I wasnt charged for the truck not starting that morning and getting Me into 2 storage lockers when 1 large one wasnt available, and for free the 1st month. one of the other yard staff even cleaned the truck and cargo hold without charge. So yes I would definitely recommend this facility, just have some patience with the counter staff, which I know patience comes in short supply during a move ha ha ha, I would have rated "Excellent" , the reason I didnt is at the feet of Corporate Uhaul not at Customer Service level, which seems typical of large corporations, the ones raking in all the dough are usually so verrrry outta touch with the People who earn them their luxuries, which is sad because I bet most of those great employees are probly making minimum wage or close to it, the financial tides need to turn to reflect the People not the Greedy Corporations!!!!

I went to my locker and a security strap was still on my locker and I did not have tools to remove it. I had to call someone to come as the lot was full of ice snow and water to walk through was difficult. When I opened the locker the alarm went off. Someone turned it off but quickly went about his work and out of my sight. I wasn't sure of what to do. Although this was my experience the staff friendliness and prompt service made up for it.

My only issue with the facility was due to security of the site ( The area can get kind of scummy, and it did cause my wife issue to the point she wouldn't go alone) And because of this very same issue, the facility was often blocked off and locked due to security concerns, good on the staff for realizing that was necessary for customer safety, but kinda negated the 24 hour secure storage access portion. The facility was great, the staff were phenomenal and we will 100% be using this location in the future!

At 7 pm when the location was closing I was still in the building and by myself. I knew the location was closing but didn't expect the alarm to go off. When the alarm went off it startled me and caused me to have a panic attack. That was due to a previous experience at my workplace when my alarm code was not yet activated so entering it cause the alarm to activate which led to police being dispatched with weapons pulled. Fortunately other family was there for me to contact. When I called them my daughter was told by an employee that it was because the building was locked but our code was entered so we were okay to be there an police would not be sent. Other than the alarm issue, the move-in was exceptional. It is also impressive to see the recycling area to reduce stuff going into the landfill and helping others obtain possible needed items.

For example I thought I had reserved a unit at Barlow Trail, drove from Edmnonton 4 hours with a 15 footer U Haul truck, hired two young men from your moving company, arrived around 3:30 pm and was told there was no reservation for me even though I had spoken 3 different staff in 3 different call centres who told me that my unit at Barlow was reserved but staff at Barlow said it was not. I was forced to go across the street to PS Storage and pay an outrageous amount for a unit. I was quite angry at U Haul and while write the CEO later. This time the experience at Barlwo was much better. I was served by manager, first name Shea who is excellent to deal with. Gracias.

jagadeesh m. | First Impressionsthe overall rules of uhaul are archaic , the staff are un-personable and unhelpful , ( with exception to one young lady named Hillary ) my TIME - as a paying customer , seams too be , COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY INVALUABLE AND DISRESPECTED most of the staff seamed confused , disorganized , and disinterested , and they were slow to react , or actually help in anyway and they did not make any of our interactions efficient , or intelligently executed , in anyway mostly because , they were bound by the companies policies , the overall feeling that I was left with , was that , I was an inconvenience , and a chore to have to deal with , as a customer of theirs , my view and overall experience could be summed up by saying that , - high school students doing a school project on how to rent a space , and execute that transaction , would do a better job , I will rent trucks ( with trepidation and anxiousness out of pure necessity going forward , but I wouldn’t use uhaul storage space for free going forward ) thanks for nothing at all
