I booked my uhaul for 12 hours (weeks in advance) as I had a big move ahead of me. The day before someone called me and told me I could only have it for half of that time. They also changed my pick up location without telling me. When I got there I used the website to find my truck. Someone can rip to us and told us that they had already given it away. I was very disappointed in the entire experience.

Booked a week ago then late afternoon the day before i received an email saying i had to drive 191 kms to collect my trailer that i had booked in Calgary. No time to reorganize. Total panic and if i hadn't read my email i would have wasted a half day at the wrong location. Luckily we found this alternative although not ideal it worked.

It's frustrating when booking well in advance to receive a phone call the day before the pick up from the venue saying reservations are invalid. Claiming online bookings are requests only and that certain vehicles are unavailable for the time periods you've booked for. Only for when you call back, customer service takes care of the booking and says that your booking is ready and good to go. It seems like a scam to receive more income on the weekend by forcing customers to schedule multiple bookings.

I think it's unreasonable to demand the personal information of a second person in order to secure a rental, particularly when that person has no relevance to the rental in question. Even if we're going to grant that a second point of contact is necessary (it's not, and it's never been demanded of me in any of my prior rentals), a simple phone number and first name should be sufficient. You have my drivers licence. You have my credit card. You don't need access to some irrelevant second party's information as well. And the claim that it's "in case we can't get ahold of you" is ridiculous. If you can't get a hold of me, neither can the person who's information you're demanding. There's no rational reason to demand this information and it's a suspicious practice in the first place.

The change where we couldn't have the truck for more than 5 hours on a weekend was very restricted, particularly at this location where when we drove by to drop in storage across the way, a lot of rental trucks were still sitting in the parking lot. I can understand being restricted if all the trucks were booked, but it didn't appear to be. We spent 4 hours longer moving than we planned because of this.

Even though I reserved online and supplied all the necessary paperwork, I was told to just come in verify your License and CC, and I would be on my way. I showed up at 9:00 am and there was only 1 service rep working and 4 people who did not pre-book.waiting in line. Cant say I was very pleased with the wait. By the time I was processed and hooked up the trailer it was 10:00 am. I showed the yard guy how dirty the trailer and the box was. Other than that the trailer was solid and easy to tow

UHaul has starting cutting corners in every way possible and the customer can tell. Understaffed and using technology and gimicks to replace workers and put more onus on the customer to complete the rental process. Convenience suffers. Price stays the same. This will hopefully spell the end of the business and the corporate paper pushers (and their $2.7 billion a year salaries) who keep designing new ways to screw over their clients.

1.) When I first booked a truck in this Uhaul store, there was a lady staff repeated loudly for my name, phone number and address. It had a few customers were waiting behind me, she disclosed my personal information to all people. Although I told her to not speak so loud, I didn’t want people would hear my personal information. She ignored me and kept doing the computer. She was not professional enough. 2.) Most staff look very tired for my several visits recently. They didn’t have smile, just like a robot.

The uhual was towed and impounded because it was assumed abandoned but it was parked in a wal.art parking lot for less than 8 hours. I was not contacted by uhual regarding this even though they were notified immediately by the city and I was charged an additional 6 days rental of the truck for no reason. The Customer service representative at the front desk was very rude and abrupt. We had booked online and confirmed our reservation for 24hrs. When we arrived we were told that our uhaul was not allowed for overnight moves. After negotiating, the CSR said we could have the original reservation but she "HAD TO HAVE IT" back by 2:30pm, instead of the original 24 hours. If this service is not allowed it should not be allowed to be booked online. Additionally, that CSR needs better training on how to deal with people and be more friendly.

Very poor overall. Was not informed about the time limit on the rental until receiving a phone call 12 hours before the start of the rental contract, was then required to upsize my rental vehicle for additional time. Counter service was extremely slow when I went to pick up the vehicle, and then was brought a van with the incorrect serial number and had to wait an extra 5 minutes on top of the 15 mins I had already been there for. No space to leave my vehicle on the rental lot, luckily a friend was with me and was able to drive my car back to his place, after I was snidely informed by the counter staff that I had better not leave my vehicle on "her lot". Inside of van bed floor was FULL of broken glass and shards of plastic, one of my friends who was helping with the move cut his finger. How hard is it to take 2 minutes and sweep out the floor after each rental? When I informed the attendant checking in my vehicle, nothing was done about it. Overall a frustrating and unprofessional experience. Only positive is that the van didn't break down while I was driving it.

All staff were great in both Calgary and Kelowna . The truck was not clean on the inside when we got it and we had to sweep the back also.
