The Customer service was great with figuring out things but took roughly an hour to get a truck and went through 4 trucks before we got one and could leave. Also was given a truck with almost no gas but I got refunded for the gas I paid for.

I waited in line for over 45 mins to get my deposit back while one lady behind the desk was making personal calls ignoring the lineup that kept getting bigger and she made it very well known her shift was almost over so with only the one woman doing anything and people walking in right past the long lineup up to the counter cutting infront! I walked out without my deposit! Was not happy at all!

Not sure why the street on Barlow is restricted parking between 1am and 7am, this was an issue as I needed parking and had to drive around to find a location not restricted to avoid tagging or towing of my vehicle left at or near the UHaul location on Barlow Trail.

They need to be honest and transparent. I told a van at 89601.1 mi and return at 89610.2 mi but was charged 11.1 mi instead of 9.1 mi. I was also cheated on the fuel. I took the van at empty. I returned more than quarter but was refund only $ 57. Thanks

When I went to the location to pick the trailer up there were two employees there and no other customers. No one even acknowledged my presence. When I asked them both who I was going to be working with one person walked away, apparently on a phone call, and the other finally said she was logging into the system. I was overcharged for the rental by two extra days. I rented the trailer on 27 Feb at 1200 and returned it on 27 Feb at 1415. The location logged the return on 29 Feb and charged for two extra days. When I noticed the error I called the location and was told they would call me back when they have time. There are clearly management issues at this location as the employees in the office do not appear to be able to treat customers with any respect.

There was no inspection of the vehicle when I rented it however I had to wait 30 minutes for them to inspect it once I dropped it off. The gas was only at a 1/4 tank when I picked it up but their contract said it was at 1/2 tank and the vehicle smelt like stale cigarette butts.

Rented a uhaul to move a couch that was time sensitive due to them closing soon. The truck that they were giving me still hadn't been checked back in from the previous renter so we waited. Meanwhile there was 3 other sets of keys for the same size truck hanging on their wall. After getting the keys for the recently checked in truck, I was on my way to pick up my couch. Just 2 minutes of being in there, there was a pungent odor of animal feces, so bad to the extent that i had to unroll the windows which didnt make much difference. . After running my errand and returning the truck, I noticed there was animal food scattered but hidden throughout the cab. When I brought it to the attention of the person inspecting it, he agreed enough that he masked his own face with his sweater to avoid whiffing the foul odor. I asked to be compensated for the extra gas I filled it with upon return and a discount for the unwavering experience and was told that if all else failed, I would receive the employees discount who was inspecting it. My credit card proved otherwise. It was charged the full amount. Looks to me as though they were unwilling to loan out a properly cleaned truck to save their own work or time. At the very least, each of these vehicles should be cleaned after EVERY use. I will not recommend this location.

The truck did the job just fine. As far as clean it was clean enough and have no clue as to how well it was maintained. I'm still waiting for my refund being I didn't use the mileage that I paid for and made sure the fuel level was above what I received it at

The unit was extremely dirty.. drivers truck floor was very much.. there are garbage too inside the vehicle. I complained but the lady assisting me was all alone and pretend she did not hear me. I was in a hurry and just decide to sweep and clean the truck before loading. I was told that I would be given a credit if returned the unit with more gas. When I got the receipt in my email, there were no cash credit.

I’ve been dealing with U-Haul for 40 years. This place was terrible. There was no fuel, and I almost was trying to on the side of the highway. When I finally realized it was in the red trailer was filthy, and the suspension was shot. It bounced all over the place Should’ve been sold off long ago so I went 200 km north of Calgary and back and couldn’t use it for my motorcycle which comes in at $70,000 after tax. I brought the pick up truck and motorcycle back and was ignored not happy.

The Staff were great (Ariel, Nick, Tyler, and two Techs whose name I did not get). The Motorcycle Trailer worked very well, and was in great condition (except for a non-functioning right rear LED Marker light that was out of stock, therefore not fixable at time of Trailer pickup). The drop-off process was very smooth, the Attendant unhooked the trailer, and helped with removal of my own tie-downs and sandbags ballast). The final Invoicing arrived in my email just moments after the drop-off, so quickly that I was not even out of the Lot yet when it arrived. Overall: a very positive experience. Way to Go U-Haul!! I would use this excellent Company's services and products again, without a doubt.

No proper communication for the staff.They kept calling me since Sunday just to ask where is the vehicle key but we drop it already the key last Saturday at 1730 in the evening.Is your staff not checking the orange box outside your door where the keys can drop it?Since Saturday my uhaul account was open and kept on charging to my credit card.You have CCTV camera there in your branch why the staff not check it to confirm if we did not return the key instead they kept calling me and asking where is the key even though I told them we drop it there already.Is good thing your Filipina staff help us and she told us that the key was there already.It was very inconvenient for us because we need to go back there yesterday Feb 20,24 just to confirm if they found the key.

There should be separate line ups for customers who made reservations and those walking in wanting to rent a uhaul. We arrived 20 minutes before our scheduled pick up time and didn't make it through the lineup until 18 minutes after our reservation pick-up. After we finished inspecting the vehicle we were probably closer to an hour past our pick-up time. Blankets we ordered were not in the truck, we had to ask someone working in the yard to get them and they didn't realize they were supposed to be in there. Ordered 2 Queen size matress bags website stated they were $8.95, they didn't know which bags they were as these things are not ready to go with the reservation. They are also not included in the price the online confirmation states, so I paid for blankets and mattress bags on top of the other price. It would also be nice to know ahead of time that the machine charges you a refundable deposit if you pay using debit but does not if you use a credit card. The staff working there were quite pleasant and it seemed it was a hectic day for for them.

I was contacted by U-Haul the day before pick up and asked to drop at a different location in the city for 65km free. I accepted, upon attempting to drop the truck off at said location-was told they could not accept the unit because it was too big-and I should go back to the location I picked up at. When I returned the truck I told the lady this. I was charged for the km driven including to and from the incorrect location- which I would not have done because U-Haul called and asked me to to so. Upon calling the pick up location to enquire why I was charged for Km, I was told that ‘I chose to drop off at the wrong location’ and there was nothing she could do. Despite explaining I was completing uhauls request. Very shady There is a lot wrong with this

Someone in the office insisted that you don't put the dolly inside the container at the drop off place and must deliver it separately to our location. I didn't understand what was the reason for this! Later, another guy at the drop off location said that my colleague was completely wrong and doesn’t make sense. It was a crazy joke. I appreciate the general manager at the truck pick up point and also a respectable lady committed to her duty at the drop off location.

I would like to give a eleven out of ten to nick sim and the young lady with a nose piercing with the little chain across her nose . They both have excellent customer relations skills and made my experience wonderful as moving socks horribly. If your ever locked out I am licensed to gain access to your vehicle BTW happy to help. I've had satisfactory experiences with other Uhaul locations, but this one on Meridian St. was exceptional. They had a friendly, helpful staff and it was easy to access to my storage unit regardless of the day. Clean area around the storage unit and a simple system to sign up and to close the account too. I rate my experiences with Nick (General Manager) and Sam (Center Storage Manager) as Excellent. They continually provide excellence in communication, response, and understanding in their overall customer services endeavors. I don’t believe I’ve been able to fully express my gratitude to either of them as yet. They are your absolute best assets at that facility. Uhaul, in my opinion could do much better overall (Nick and Sam excluded from this opinion) That’s another issue entirely. If the higher-ups ever want/value my feedback, please reach out, contact me. I had some issues with the elevator while moving items in my storage locker. The lift was not coming to the first floor even though no others were not using it at this time. When it did finally open on the first floor, I entered the doors closed however, the elevator did not move for several minutes and doors would not open. The elevator finally began to operate without further issues.

Cant say enough good things about this place! Every unit is secured with individual alarms to keep your stuff safe, there is easily accessible drive up loading docks as well as indoor drive in loading bays, They open early & close late so there is almost always someone on site/in the office to assist when u need it. And the access hours are long and convenient. In the 12+ months i rented a unit here, i had zero problems. Just a great smooth experience. Thanks to all the kind & helpful staff. Especially the manager Nick Sim who went above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service and a very pleasant experience. I would (and have) absolutely recommended this uhaul storage facility to friends and family. This place is #1

When I first moved in the light kept shutting off it was pitch black and the sensors weren't even recognizing me. I told the staff and she was kind enough to promo my lock for the inconvenience. I was also given a bottle of water by one of the guys. So be realistic people it can be a busy place so expect line-ups so come earlier than your quoted time. They will handle your needs expediently and courteously. Have a great day team 😊

The owner of this location is phenomenal!!!!! He runs it so well and is a great example of leadership. While I was there he handled problematic customers exceptionally and was an amazing support to his staff. The one member I worked with for my rental was brand new and he was a good support to her along with his floor supervisor; I’m very impressed with this location

the girl that booked the calgary-san francisco uhaul and got me the uhaul storage in calgary for free (on july 30th i believe) was a GODSEND. she was amazing. i was nearly in tears from being so stressed out about my move and what to do with the uhauls and she made my life a million times easier. so thankful for her, she went above and beyond.

Trucks and trailers parked in front of my unit. While the staff were always helpful, it was a pain in the butt to have to get them to move equipment so I could gain access. Snow and ice throughout the complex. Snow drifting into my unit through the doors. Best part was the size, 13x30 with lots of head room.

When I was planning on moving out, I emailed Nick to ask about the procedure and never received a reply back. After 10 days I phoned and spoke to Ariel, who was, as always, super friendly and helpful. Ariel said it was ok for me to move out on the 18th and I wouldn’t be charged another rent cycle, which was due the 15th. On the 15th, the full month’s rent was taken from my visa, so I phoned in to the office and spoke with Valerie. The difference in the 2 conversations was startling. Even though Ariel didn’t give me all the information I needed, I left the conversation happy and feeling like she cared about me as a customer. With Valerie, I felt like I was irritating and inconveniencing her. I asked for an email confirming I would be reimbursed upon move out and she made it plain that she wasn’t happy but would do it. Even though Valerie followed through and Uhaul reimbursed my rent the day I moved out, I felt like she didn’t care about me as a customer. Also, the yard maintenance at this Uhaul site is terrible. On many occasions accessing the loading dock was tricky with various equipment, trucks and trailers blocking lanes, parked haphazardly, and taking up stalls ant the loading dock, even though they weren’t being loaded or off-loaded. On the day I moved out, the lot employee couldn’t move the mini snow plow out of the west loading bay because another employee went home with the keys. The 2nd loading bay was inaccessible due to a massive hole in the ice in the driveway leading into the bay. And 3 other parking spits at the dock were taken up by empty trucks. Due to improper snow removal, the ice was at least 12-15 inches thick, with huge “potholes” all along the front of the loading dock. It was very difficult getting in and out, especially for my movers in their truck and trailer. I took pictures in case a damage claim needed to be made. Overall, the actual rental unit was fine, but I won’t rent there again.

Did all online reservations. Mobile wasn’t working for pick up so went to the counter (I had supplies to pick up and that was the option). Lady asked if I wanted to do mobile or counter pick up and since I was standing there and mobile wasn’t working I said counted. I found out at the end of the transaction that I lost all the online booking deals since I went to the counter. Not happy. As well apparently someone did not show up for a shift so there was no one on location until the 9am open and only one person at the counter. I went to go check out the storage unit myself and it had a padlock in it and had to walk back to get a key or someone to open it. Pictures of the truck, for mobile verification, were when it was new. Be careful to submit pictures of every dent and scratch. My truck had graffiti all over one side. Storage unit was very clean and they have all the trollies you will need to unload. Supplies are very convenient in the main building. Grab/pay and go. They even have sample boxes open so you know what you are getting.

Look at my move-in date and it’s only now, you see fit to ask me about my experiences? Kim was good to me and Nick had been great. This the Barlow Trail SW location in calgary. Val at the front desk helped us out when the elevator to the second floor was out of commission for days and my daughter and I could not carry things upstairs. She quickly found us a unit in a very full facility that was on the ground floor and gave us a better rate than our first rental for our troubles, and the transition was seamless and quick! Andrew who works outside is very sweet and helpful also! Keep up the good work guys!

Valerie and her staff at the 4 Ave NE location in Calgary were incredibly helpful as the elevator was broken and we were on the 2nd floor. It was just my daughter and myself and we could not carry our items up the stairs. She went into action and in 15 minutes had a a place on the ground floor that had just opened up and it was a larger space but she gave it to us for the same price! Really appreciate the great customer service!

When I went back to the orignal office, She rented my truck. 3 hours later no truck. I phoned to complain, they said they would get back to me within 72 hours. I still haven’t heard from your complaints department. I will never usr u haul again and I will never recommend this company:) If you don’t reply to the complaints you get, why do you have this department:) U haul cost me a lot of money and time because of the incompetence of u haul staff:(

As we had to unload all our stuff as well as returning the rented U-Haul truck + car hauler on an (as expected) busy 1st day of the month, we were extremely grateful for the help we received from the staff. One young guy outside (sorry forgot to ask his name) was very impressive. He immediately guided us to where we could unhook the hauler, clearly explained what to do next and after we finished unloading he took care of the equipment return within minutes. Thank you!!!

I had a very poor experience at this location… I understand they were busy with long line ups… But I stood in line twice 15 minutes each time for one of the staff to just allow other people walking in to just go straight to their counter… people were disposing of their own personal furniture while moving in their storage units I noticed also… I feel that there’s no visible bright direction where to punch in your code because I was punching in at the wrong place which then made me go back because my card wasn’t working… Meanwhile it was because I was not using the right one… I had gassed up the vehicle I rented when i went to return 1st time but was so busy and I wasn’t able to unload due to full spaces so I left with an arrangement with staff member that i would try again next day and not be charged another day… I ended up returning later in the day to unload because I was not able to do it the next day and i was charged again for the gas… when I went to unload my stuff in my storage I could not open it so I thought that there was something wrong with the locker and ended up having to switch to one that did open but I did not realize that the locks were just sticky and needed to be WD-4’d.

Is there anything less than zero? Manager is so rude the whole long line of customers was openly complaining about their past experiences. Manager evicted me with no cause, refused to allow me access, and in the end stole all my things I had piled out of his building back in just because it would inconvenience me. I used to be a loyal uhual customer and would refer anyone I met there. Never again. THIS PLACE IS DIRTY, UNSECURE, POORLY MANAGED, UNEDUCATED STAFF, HOURS ARE CUT BACK FOR NO REASON, COMMUNICATION IS RUDE AND POOR, I've never had a worse experience anywhere else ever.

The correct resolution to Uhaul‘s air in renting the auto transporter is to refund the 26 foot truck rental for Calgary to Seattle and provide a credit for the truck rental from Seattle to Corona California. Unfortunately your staff, which specifically included youAt the time of my payment repeatedly ignored my request to verify that my truck information was correct. The truck has always been a four-door quad cab Dodge 4 x 4… I pointed this out to the staff repeatedly upon renting the transport that the information in the system was wrong. This came back to haunt me after I’ve been repeatedly told that I could pick up the transport hauler on Sunday morning, the staff would help me attaching to the 26 foot truck and everything was complete At the time of my payment repeatedly ignored my request to verify that my truck information was correct. The truck has always been a four-door quad cab Dodge 4 x 4… I pointed this out to the staff repeatedly upon renting the transport that the information in the system was wrong. This came back to haunt me after I’ve been repeatedly told that I could pick up the transport hauler on Sunday morning, the staff would help me attaching to the 26 foot truck and everything was complete when the decision was yours as the general manager both Tanner and Samantha blamed the staff and you for not double checking and confirming and said I should be compensated… Now that the decision seems to be Samantha‘s she has taking a 180 and is denying responsibility. This is shameful and the reason Barlow has the reputation that it does dating back a number of years. It would save everybody a lot of time and money to simply credit my rental of the truck between Calgary and Corona. Everyone seems to be ignoring the fact that this is not my fault, I have been upfront transparent and proactive while Uhaul has not only broken their customer agreement but also put me in a position of having to spend the time and at least $2000-$3000 to have my truck transported from Calgary to corona because of time constraints which were entirely Uhaul‘s fault. I hope you will reconsider this proposal and save every One involved a lot of time and embarrassment in the process. I’m asking for the bare minimum and resent the fact that your own staff has gone from turning against you when it was your decision to now turning against me when I’m not standing there in person. This is a regrettable experience and I’m hoping that levelheaded Uhaul employers, area managers are corporate will One involved a lot of time and embarrassment in the process. I bought two locks for the storage doors because of the ice on the road around storage doors, we couldn't unload the truck. I fell twice there. It is a serious safety hazard. We decided to go to another storage facility. I returned the locks and they told me that i would see the credit for locks later but never received the credit on amex. Please issue my credit of $22.

The parking lot is so full of thick ice it’s basically a dangerous skating rink and I almost fell multiple times. In freezing weather below zero there were dogs chained up outside on the ice barking. The area where you pull up to unload and enter the indoor storage area was full of trucks and trailers empty and in the way. There was a trailer parked diagonally across two spots so my boyfriend had to pick it up and roll it out of the way so that we could pull our truck in and unload it. The carts at this location are awful with bars all over them instead of flat carts making most of them useless when moving. The place was under construction, dirty, and most of the lockers down are row were broken off their tracks. After I checked in with the girl at the Uhaul front desk the lock was still on the door when I started to unload my truck. The door of the unit was broken on ours and the employee had to fight with it for over fifteen minutes while we stood and waited. All this time the clock was ticking for us to drop off the Uhaul at a different location after we unload it. Frustrating. The staff did their best but the facility is poorly maintained. Way too many vehicles parked there, almost no room to drive around in there with a car let alone a truck. No parking really at this location. Awful experience.

Am very upset with our whole experience yesterday. With all the paperwork to get the truck and with the uboxes. There was a lot of time wasted trying to get the uboxes. And trying to get the trailers hooked up to the truck. We were told that the truck would be ready and all hooked up, which it wasn’t. And the second time we went back for our second trailer of uboxes, it was the same all over. We were told to wait with the trailer, but then I was told to go into the office to release the trailer for us. Once we were at the second uhaul centre, the setup was not set up for the uboxes. The boxes are put on one at the back to open, the other one is on the side but you could not pull the trailer into the loading area and had to unload outside. The unit I rented was broken so they moved us to a different one further away from the door. When we brought back the second trailer, there was someone in the other bay so we had to wait until they were gone because we couldn’t open the second door because there wasn’t room. Once we able to start unloading, we were going as quick as we could. We had two more items to unload but we were told that they were closing and we had to leave. They wouldn’t even let unload the last two pieces. We were told that they were open 24 hours but they were closing at 7:00 and it was past 7:00. But we were never told they were closing. I was not told when I rented the unit or when I picked up my swipe card. We had to bring those pieces back to my place and unload them there. And I don’t have room for them but we had to return the truck and uboxes so they had to come here because I am not paying to move them again. Overall, I will not be using uhaul to move out my things. I will rent movers to do so and will not recommend uhaul to anyone after this experience.

It seems to be a global issue in Your offices that Ive encountered. You have some staff in advanced stages of life trying to navigate their way through your computer systems, whether it be Uhaul Rentals or Uhaul Storage the checkout times are ridiculously long. I stood in line for no less than upon check in. I cant help but think perhaps an easier format be implemented or invest in more in depth training for these staff, as She was indeed a pleasant person. However I will also say this 1 employee made sure she went above and beyond to make sure I wasnt charged for the truck not starting that morning and getting Me into 2 storage lockers when 1 large one wasnt available, and for free the 1st month. one of the other yard staff even cleaned the truck and cargo hold without charge. So yes I would definitely recommend this facility, just have some patience with the counter staff, which I know patience comes in short supply during a move ha ha ha, I would have rated "Excellent" , the reason I didnt is at the feet of Corporate Uhaul not at Customer Service level, which seems typical of large corporations, the ones raking in all the dough are usually so verrrry outta touch with the People who earn them their luxuries, which is sad because I bet most of those great employees are probly making minimum wage or close to it, the financial tides need to turn to reflect the People not the Greedy Corporations!!!!

It was very difficult to manoeuvre the trailer around the lot. Explanation was not given if fully about what exactly happens when you go to storage area. I went to my locker and a security strap was still on my locker and I did not have tools to remove it. I had to call someone to come as the lot was full of ice snow and water to walk through was difficult. When I opened the locker the alarm went off. Someone turned it off but quickly went about his work and out of my sight. I wasn’t sure of what to do. Although this was my experience the staff friendliness and prompt service made up for it.

The staff were amazing, friendly, and helpful! My only issue with the facility was due to security of the site ( The area can get kind of scummy, and it did cause my wife issue to the point she wouldn't go alone) And because of this very same issue, the facility was often blocked off and locked due to security concerns, good on the staff for realizing that was necessary for customer safety, but kinda negated the 24 hour secure storage access portion. The facility was great, the staff were phenomenal and we will 100% be using this location in the future!

At the time of move-in the alarm went off several times while we were inside because some people did not enter their code when coming into the building. At 7 pm when the location was closing I was still in the building and by myself. I knew the location was closing but didn't expect the alarm to go off. When the alarm went off it startled me and caused me to have a panic attack. That was due to a previous experience at my workplace when my alarm code was not yet activated so entering it cause the alarm to activate which led to police being dispatched with weapons pulled. Fortunately other family was there for me to contact. When I called them my daughter was told by an employee that it was because the building was locked but our code was entered so we were okay to be there an police would not be sent. Other than the alarm issue, the move-in was exceptional. It is also impressive to see the recycling area to reduce stuff going into the landfill and helping others obtain possible needed items.

Had several bad experiences previous to this. For example I thought I had reserved a unit at Barlow Trail, drove from Edmnonton 4 hours with a 15 footer U Haul truck, hired two young men from your moving company, arrived around 3:30 pm and was told there was no reservation for me even though I had spoken 3 different staff in 3 different call centres who told me that my unit at Barlow was reserved but staff at Barlow said it was not. I was forced to go across the street to PS Storage and pay an outrageous amount for a unit. I was quite angry at U Haul and while write the CEO later. This time the experience at Barlwo was much better. I was served by manager, first name Shea who is excellent to deal with. Thank you.

the overall rules of uhaul are archaic , the staff are un-personable and unhelpful , ( with exception to one young lady named Hillary ) my TIME - as a paying customer , seams too be , COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY INVALUABLE AND DISRESPECTED most of the staff seamed confused , disorganized , and disinterested , and they were slow to react , or actually help in anyway and they did not make any of our interactions efficient , or intelligently executed , in anyway mostly because , they were bound by the companies policies , the overall feeling that I was left with , was that , I was an inconvenience , and a chore to have to deal with , as a customer of theirs , my view and overall experience could be summed up by saying that , - high school students doing a school project on how to rent a space , and execute that transaction , would do a better job , I will rent trucks ( with trepidation and anxiousness out of pure necessity going forward , but I wouldn’t use uhaul storage space for free going forward ) thanks for nothing at all

I stored my stuff there for 6 months and my stuff was safe and nothing was stolen. I went to rent a trailer or a van/truck and there was a 20 person line up to get service on Friday at 4:30pm. I waited in line for 30 minutes and the line didn't move so I decided to go home and try to move the next day. The next day I went to go rent a trailer or a truck and the service people said they couldn't help me. I went to Home Depo to rent a trailer for $28. I went to open my storage and there was a lock put on so I couldn't open it. I had previously paid the rent bill so there shouldnt have been a lock on it. I had to run around the uhaul place to look for staff to help me and managed to get my stuff moved. There were no dollies for me to use. I went to check out and they didn't want to reimburse me for the extra month that I paid. They said I should have moved out before the 28th. Now they are going to keep my money.

My 72 year old mother rolled her ankle coming in the storage unit place and not one employee actually gave a crap.. the manager was too bizy worried about whether doors opened and closed and stuff like that.. told her she had to go into the office to fill out a report.. my mom is 72 just moved here because she lost her husband (he passed away) and was treated like crap.. I asked for ice for her ankle as it was swelling up already and brusing and the guy said sorry we don't have anything like that on site.. so I took my mom home to rest and ice her ankle well I came back to move her stuff out if the unit.. was told anyone in the office could do the report.. I came back to file a report and got told only the managers can do that and she left for the day.. Is this a joke? How can I rate this storage facility when I was denied access to it? I made my online reservation weeks before my moving date, when I arrived to store my belongings, I was told that the reservation was not valid and that the facility didn't have any more units available. I was shocked and utterly disappointed, I asked to speak to a manager and was given the 1-800 number, I called this number and explained my situation, I asked to get this resolved withing 24hrs and I was hold that somone was going to call me but NEVER HAPPENED, this was the worse experienced. The unit we were in allowed a huge accumulation of dust to enter the unit and all of our stuff was dirty when we removed it. Further the security system on the unit did not seem to be working for almost the whole duration of our time there which made us feel very uncomfortable with our stuff there and no alarm in place. Upon renting my unit and being assured move in was complete, I attempted to access my unit within my access time. Sadly, I was denied. I spent the next hour on the phone outside of my prospective locker trying to gain access, but nobody was able to help. I was told to return the next day during office hours. The following day I returned to the store, where they issued me a swipe card and assured me I would have no issues moving forward. Which was great, until I showed up last night in desperate need of accessing my items in storage. Again, my pass code didn't work, nor did my swipe card. Luckily a kind gentleman let me in the building, where I went quickly to my unit and unlocked it to discover THE UNITS AREN'T EVEN ALARMED! DEALING WITH UHAUL has been the most useless experience ever! Not to mention the HUNDREDS of dollars I've had to pay due to their broken promises again and again. I'm very fed up

Kristen was amazing in checking me in on time. She was super helpful as she made sure my swipe card worked for self storage as I was having trouble with it at check in. She was super friendly and cared about completing my check in so I could have my hired movers get started right away without wasting any time. There was another tall gentleman(don’t remember his name) inside the self storage facility as well who was super friendly and helped us with any questions we had regarding storage and our container. Worst experience at Meridian Barlow trail. On top of that I still received an invoice after the fact that I had check out from my free one way moved a month ago. I check with U haul why I am being charge and they couldn’t figure out why I am still being charge. They can see my account has been closed a while back. They call Barlow location in Calgary where I rented and she was told that they didn’t know I had checked out a month ago so they decided to charge me for rental plus a delinquent fee.

Often the swipe card machine didn’t work saying error or it didn’t work when it was below 7 degrees or windy. The front sliding doors weren’t unlocked on time and the garage doors often weren’t unlocked by mid morning. Found ourselves constantly going to the office to get things taken care of. Big time waster. I hope I never have to store anything again for it’s inconvenient

Staff is friendly however they need to work on their accesses I haven't been able to get into my locker with my card or code since I got it, I've always had to go to the desk tell them they tell me its a error with their system and there's nothing they can do so just sit there and let the alarm go off. So if somebody broke into my unit they'd just assume it was me and I pay 150 a month and I can only access my locker during store hours and thats it. This has made the move in process very very very hard

You're not asking the right questions. Your location is fine... but uhaul has horrible customer service over the phone and I will NEVER EVER support the company in any way (storage, trailer moving vehicle) if I can at all help it. Your rental vehicle has demands I do not need at a regular rental agency. This is the worst customer service experience that I've ever had and I usually don't complain. It took months to resolve a minor issue because the location's manager didn't notate an agreement he and I made. Unfortunately I experienced a lot of miscommunication, and misunderstandings throughout. When I knew that we weren't going to make it in prior to closing, I phoned the storage facility to discuss options. I was informed on the phone that my father could check me in early, collect our pass and after hours access code, and that we could arrive and unload after hours. Upon arrival, my father was told this wasn't the case and we'd have to return the following morning. Had the information been communicated over the phone when we called, we would've altered our plans accordingly. The following morning, my reservation couldn't be retrieved. Apparently the system wasn't able to locate any reservations using confirmation numbers, and we needed to set up a new reservation. Once checked in, the facility is well maintained, and the process fairly straight forward.

But on the other hand: courteous and helpful staff at checkin - storage manager Even took time out from her busy schedule to show us the facilities, which were clean and well maintained. I was promised a drive up storage unit on my initial call. They put me at the far end of the building which added 3hours to the move, so far, and probably another 3 hours on the way out. The guy at the front said he would give me 24 hour access but the swipe cards did not work. When we saw the storage, we knew it would be difficult to fit the 26’ trucks belongings into it, so the we told the Afterhours lady and her suggestion was to “pack better”. We had to stack items do we could climb because I’m not 12’ tall. The $10 lock they threw in does not make up for the nonsense that I endured. If there was any other option, I would be using it. Not once during truck pick up or storage, did an employee leave their seat to help me.

The place was rediculously hard to contact on the phone under the old management, but I never tried to contact them since the change of manager. From having to travel an extra 3 hours on my moving day to pick up a trailer in the opposite direction- to the business being closed and had to go to another location. To being promised a storage unit, and a reservation was made to find out it was not. And had to call around and find my own storage unit- to be told that I had a ground level storage unit.. and then showing up and being told no I do not. No compensation was given on UHAULS end .. I will never use the company UHAUL again.

Uhaul moved our stuff from a uhaul truck into a uhaul storage unit. They just threw everything out of the truck into the unit. There was water damage and rodent damage and so many of our items were destroyed. The staff was not helpful or honest. It was an awful experience

I love everything about your business, except the parking lot. The entire process was great until I got to the actual move in. I arrived in the loaded van (I rented from you) to find the parking lot jammed with a tracker-trailer various sizes of moving trucks, vans, and trailers. It was bedlam. You have to wait to load in, in a long line of people returning equipment? That's not efficient. When I drove around the end of the building to access the storage facility from there, we had to get out of the van and move your trailers out of the way to be able to get through. Your staff is fantastic 100%. Your entry process and parking lot are a gong show 20%. Your average is 60%. I will recommend your business, but I will make sure people know it's not easy to access (on busy days).

Only thing I didn’t like is the door latch was tricky to open. Cut my hand once. Probably should wear a glove when using the sliding latch. There is a technique to opening the door on my specific unit where you have to lift it slightly in order to open the latch but everything else was perfect.

The only complaint I would have is this facility has too many vehicles at one time parked in there yard. They were constantly blocking the unit too which I occupied. It took only making an advanced phone call and things were cleared but it was still a pain for both parties.

The staff (except 3 (Michelle, Jake, Wyatt) are the only good things about Barlow location) were very poor service! My unit was blocked 90% of the time I was there by trucks or trailers, then when the snow hit, and started to melt it froze my door shut, to which they then tried to open my door with a fork lift and put a hole in it! This location makes me NEVER want to use uhual again, and neither will any of my hundreds of family and friends! I’ve tried to resolve my issues many times with little to no luck! And I will be contacting head office with all the pictures and complaints I have with this location AGAIN!!!

U Haul staff were friendly and helpful. And pro-active with any issues that arose. I would use the U Box again and again if needed. Having someone else drive was pivotal.

The shipment was supposed to be in Calgary May 26. When I arrived May 27 it was not there. Extremely annoying. UHaul did offer fair monetary compensation; therefore above average but not excellent.
