The tech that waited on me had blood on his hand as a health profession blood pathogens is dangerous. He asked for my drivers license and I told him no he then asked his staff member to take it. This location needs customer service skills the rep inside when I arrive was in his phone I asked where ubox was he pointed me towards the other side of parking lot 2 guys on forklifts one was on phone and skews me away while completing his call the other refused to assist with finding bolt cutters said he doesn't do that walked over to the original office and was provided cutters they seemed too hurried to get off work to assist my son and I this is not acceptable and I will never goto this location for anything they need training in providing customer serviceHeather H.

The manager was completely rude when I walked in. She did not great me or say hello. She literally looked at me and said nothing. She was not on the phone or busy. She literally was sitting at a computer. When the sales rep got off the phone she said hello and asked if I had a reservation. The truck I rented was unlocked and smelled like someone had just smoke a half pound of marijuana in the front seat. I noticed all of this on the useless U-haul app. Also, I was told my personal vehicle would have to be moved and parked across the street. Something about truck rentals over 10 hours can't have the owners vehicles in the parking lot all day. Mean while, I took a picture of the two cars that were parked next to me in the morning. Both of those customers rented my size truck or smaller. When I returned at 1:30 in the afternoon. The vehicles that were next to me were still parked in the same spots. Funny how they were not told to park their vehicle across the 5 lane road in front of the building. Bottom line. Not impressed with this particular U-Haul facility. U-haul as a whole is a wonderful company and I appreciate their trucks being available when it is time for me to move.Ryan D.

Hi there we realized we left our laptop in a bag soft bag in the cab of the truck when we dropped it off the young man told us to go inside and he would clean the truck out. And we think we left our laptop in the cab $1,200 laptop. When we realized we left it in the cab the young man had already cleaned everything out said he didn't find anything. One thing I don't like about U-Haul is dishonestyjohn D.
Logging into your site to return the truck is difficult and on the night I was returning the truck your site was not working properly and had to put the key in the box. A phone number after hours should be an alternative which allows the customer to return the truck with ease. Your agents did not discuss that number.Jonathan H.

Check your equipment better the first truck I rented leaked and got three of my boxes wet, the second time I go to rent they tried to give me the same leaking truck and I refused it so they switched me out. I found out the next morning the hard way that my door handle didn't work from the outside so that was very inconvenient for a handicapped person that had to keep using that side of the car. And then today my rental never showed the scheduler never bothered to follow up on the call and customer service couldn't even find it, but yet you're asking me how the experience went & survey for my service this morning that no one can find . so you owe me my 3840 and I want my money now y'all charged me for a vehicle I never got today. . !!!!!!lisa A.

When I signed up online, the website told me my first month would be free, only to then charge my card. I got a code for the gate to move stuff into storage, and it didn't work at all. I called the storage manager today to have a rude manager tell me "we only do that for out of state moves" and for the code "you have to get a card". No email I ever got told me about a card and the code didn't even work the initial time which was what she told me it was for. Also, why would the website tell me my first month was free when I signed up if it's not actually free! Poor advertising and exceptionally poor customer service.Michele M. | Online Move In

In general everyone involved in this process has been confused and had very little understanding of how the Boxes work. Also, I was charged a monthly fee almost 2 weeks after the box was unloaded and returned and I received a follow up call to confirm that I would no longer need the box. They need to go over, all fees on contract. They rip me off, about 40. One I was supposed to get 16.00 credit. I didn't get this. Plus when I got there at 7am, there was about 10 trucks, waiting to be check in. They told me to go home. They then charged my card for alot of stuff.Loretta W.

I never got my receipt and I tried to say that there was a leak in the truck but there was nowhere for me to report that to I have pictures of two of my boxes that were medical stuff inside that got wet because your tablet in the top right hand corner where I guess it had been damaged and no one told me.lisa A.
I've uses these guys multiple times over the last 15+ years and have always had a good experience with them. This time was no exception. I got there before they opened and there were 2 of them cleaning returned vehicles. There were at least 3 people there to get vehicles and they quickly processed all of them. Highly recommend.Tim B.

While in the end things worked out the way they were supposed to, that was only the case because I complained about things not arriving on time and requested a discount for needing to stay in a hotel for 2 nights due to errors by Portsmouth employees. I was also not properly informed of the final cost of the move. I put my delivery location in when getting a quote and booking but the quote didn't include delivery so I had an unexpected 150$ charge to have the job completed. I understand the fee but is should be communicated in the quote. It was a headache working with uhaul, so even though it worked out I'm not sure I'd do it again.Elizabeth S.

I have not been In this status but one other time during the pandemic for which I was hospitalized twice for Covid. First, there was supposed to be a free lock. NOPE! Had to go and ask at the office and was told all out and that I could purchase one of their other ones. Then had to walk all the way around to get back in because there is no key pad on that side of the bldging. Then tried to use the cart and ramps. The concrete ramp was broken on the end so created a VERY LARGE LIP to try and get over. The cart had a broken wheel most likely broken by the very large lip. Our furniture Dolly couldn't even maneuver well over this lip. Made it VERY MISERABLE AND DIFFICULT TO MOVE IN. ADDITIONALLY the door shut and locked us out while trying to move in so I had to walk to a different door to let us in. All in All it was a very frustrating move in with many a cuss word spoken!! . We made reservations over the phone over two months prior to relocating from Florida to Virginia. When we finally arrived with a huge 26ft uhaul and a car being towed, they told us there are no units available. You can imagine the panic we felt that moment. Apparently uhaul (corporate) will overbook things but the units themselves are "first come first serve" at this location. Having said that, the staff accommodated us rather quickly and ended up finding a unit that just emptied out which was perfect for our things. Their customer service was fantastic and the people working there are very accommodating and work hard. Can't say enough good things about this location.
