I scheduled my truck rental at one location (due to its proximity to my house) and they called me the day of and said it wasn't available and I had to drive to another location in order to get it and they said they would comp my gas mileage and then called me back to say they couldn't do that! Just complete chaos with the regional office in Virginia and I'm truly disappointed with my experience.

only issues is your after hours return. i had to pay an extra fee due to the link taken to long and then my camera on my phone is broken I cant scan all your codes and stuff at the building. for that reason if i had to give that a star it would be 1 start due to me haven to pay extra fee just to drop a keep in a box. the team was very good though while there.

Trailer wasn't in great condition. Low tread tires, straps falling apart, ratchets didn't stay tight on the trip. The service in the store was horrible. Waited over an hour and a half to be checked in for my reservation, also tried to swap for a tow dolly instead and the app kept saying it was available and ended up not being available. The trailer has no license plate either….. very poor experience vs any other time I've rented from U-Haul. The management is very lack. I had to patch one trailer tire myself after being told I'd be waiting 90 mins for roadside. Wasted my money and should have gone elsewhere.

My experience with uhaul was just ridiculous. Over the course of trying to get my things I was charged with around $1200 in charges that I didn't owe had around 4 or 5 returns issued to me through out the many calls I had to make to customer service. I was charged storage fees for boxes they never took off of my account. I was charged a 15 dollar close of contract fee when my account had not been closed. I was charged a 106 fee for I don't even know what at this point. Scheduled the pickup of the uboxes just to get a 24 hour prior call saying they would be delivering boxes they put in a note about it supposing to be a pickup got charged delivery and rental fees I didn't owe when they never even came out til I called to complain several times. The customer service line is a joke I was on and off the phone with them several times over the course of my work shift because calls kept getting dropped or I was on 45 minute holds. I have to call again because they didn't refund the correct amount for the last nearly $400 mistake that their employees made they were supposed to call back and I've not heard from them. I'd just as soon carry all of my belongings on my back to move again rather than deal with uhaul again. Oh they were so kind as to give me a $10 gift certificate...I understand the sentiment and all but I would never use it so was it really going to make me feel better about not having my own money for 3-5 days because someone else failed to do their job properly...no.

Driver sunvisor constantly was falling down into line of vision. Truck AC kept cycling off to heat and then back to AC. Side view mirrors on passenger side would t stay in the set position. So, not a good safe vehicle. Not to mention check engine light was on the vehicle the whole time.

Picked up trailer at 0700. Quick and efficient. When returned trailer at 3:15 same day, employee was filling windshield fluid in another vehicle. He told me that I was "good" after disconnecting trailer. Got email bill today and was charged for 2 days. Called number and was on hold for 30 min. They resolved issue but should have never happened.

The driver arrived early and did not wit for the rest of the items to be loaded. They scheduled a delivery that was not met. The box was damaged, resulting in a broken property. Not sure which store damaged the box.

The issue I had wasn't with this location at all, it was with the 800# customer service. Was on hold for over an hour, waiting for assistance in figuring out how to get the key because the video provided showed the location in a different place (video showed box on the gate) but it was actually the lock on the back of the truck).

Great experience, except - when I arranged to pick up the trailer, I told them that I wanted to pick up the trailer Friday afternoon (5/13/22). The paperwork reflected that the trailer would be ready at 11:00AM (I was not told that I had to pick it up at 11:00). I had a list of things that I needed to get done before I picked up the trailer, but at 11:45 we got a call saying that if I did not pick up the trailer within 30 min. it would given to someone else. This totally screwed up my schedule and required me to pick up the trailer, take if home, drop it off, then complete my tasks, and then having to re-hook it up to our car. No a very good experience! Tyeva and her staff were wonderful. I dropped off the Auto Transport early and they got it checked in for me. Self return on the truck worked flawlessly when I dropped off after hours. Just simply gave my phone permission to use location services and followed the directions from there. Easy as pie. Wonderful experience.

Website was at times confusing or difficult to use. For example, one had to "associate" a contract with an account - that should be done automatically. Also, a new and separate contract was issued in order to deliver the same uboxes from a storage location - it issued new (erroneous) charges on the webpage, but the local folks said it was a "closeout contract" and the listed charges did not apply (huh??) - very odd. Maybe latter was an IT "kludge" because the data system couldn't otherwise handle a closeout adequately. Also the 1-800 service system was largely useless as they were unable to forward information accurately (or often at all) to local Ubox/Uhaul teams. But, Uboxes themselves were good (although some doors were very hard to close due to structural shear over time and mileage, I think).

Take Peter's market at 3100 Churchland Blvd. As a place to rent vehicles. I got there 15 minutes early and there was no vehicle. Your agent started that my pick up was at airline Blvd. Yet I received no update about my pick up location being moved. Peter's market claims you haven't sent them a truck for customer pickup in weeks!! This was a very inconvenient experience for me . They didn't have the truck size I reserved a week in advance at airline Blvd., however, I can't blame the gentlemen that work there for a lack of available trucks due to the short notice they were given. The staff at this location were friendly and professional!

The trailer lights on in bad shape. The lights have been shortened out for a while I had to take care of that myself with tape it could have shorted out my electrical system in my truck.

Our challenge was with the 24/7 after hours pick up. It took 45 minutes and 3 calls to the help desk. Also, the dolly we ordered was incorrect. We needed a furniture dolly but received a flat orange one instead. We ordered 12 packing blankets and received 6. Service with the location was very good though and we really appreciated the agent's personal attention.

When I reserved the truck, I told them I would be keeping the equipment until I finished the move and would require hours into the next day. He said “no problem, just call and tell us that tomorrow when your time is done and we can automatically leave you with the truck and continue with the move!” The following day As I talked with uhaul about this, we were penalized with a convenience fee because someone else was waiting for the same truck and had I called earlier, they would have had me return the truck before I had finished my move! My box spring for my bed was broken. I sent an email in regards to this when it arrived at my new home in St. Louis, MO but I have not heard back from anyone. I paid for insurance. The St. Louis, MO was extremely subpar. Only communication I had was a phone call a few days before. In VA the service was phenomenal. They text when the driver was not he way, met and greeted me to ensure my u-box would be left in the correct position. However, the St. Louis location, did not inform me they were arriving. They arrived hours in advance, they left the u-box opening facing the street, they did not greet me or ensure the box would be to my satisfaction. I had no idea my box was even outside.

I have had storage there since 2013 and I was disappointed that I lost precious items up for auction. I have not been In this status but one other time during the pandemic for which I was hospitalized twice for Covid. I felt like I could have been given one more week to get my sentimental non replaceable items out. Was given discounted rate but needed my family items. Deeply saddened.

First, there was supposed to be a free lock. NOPE! Had to go and ask at the office and was told all out and that I could purchase one of their other ones. Then had to walk all the way around to get back in because there is no key pad on that side of the bldging. Then tried to use the cart and ramps. The concrete ramp was broken on the end so created a VERY LARGE LIP to try and get over. The cart had a broken wheel most likely broken by the very large lip. Our furniture Dolly couldn't even maneuver well over this lip. Made it VERY MISERABLE AND DIFFICULT TO MOVE IN. ADDITIONALLY the door shut and locked us out while trying to move in so I had to walk to a different door to let us in. All in All it was a very frustrating move in with many a cuss word spoken!! . SO NOT HAPPY WITH THIS EXPERIENCE!!

We made reservations over the phone over two months prior to relocating from Florida to Virginia. When we finally arrived with a huge 26ft uhaul and a car being towed, they told us there are no units available. You can imagine the panic we felt that moment. Apparently uhaul (corporate) will overbook things but the units themselves are "first come first serve" at this location. Having said that, the staff accommodated us rather quickly and ended up finding a unit that just emptied out which was perfect for our things. Their customer service was fantastic and the people working there are very accommodating and work hard. Can't say enough good things about this location. Hopefully uhaul corporate can correct this booking issue. Overall very satisfied with my experience after it was all said and done.

The bottom of the storage door has a metal little lip to it and it should have a cover of some sorts, i sliced my ankle using that part to push down on the door.
