Not a fan of the pay per mile deal. Especially with today's gas prices, it feels like I'm having to pay twice, once for refueling the tank on return and then the price per milage. This should be more clearly stated up front at the time of reservation.ADAM T.
The a/c did not work in the middle of summer in Phoenix so it was a very hot drive to Tucson across the desert with no a/c. After getting to Tucson i called the manager where i picked it up and he offered a discount for the a/c not workingJohn V.
The insurance options that you offer didn't cover the cargo that was stolen out of a locked uhaul trailer once I arrived in AZ. There were even options of how much coverage you wanted, which indicated to me, the value of the cargo in the trailer. The insurance claim rep then instructed me to follow up with my homeowners or renters insurance company. When you sell your house and are in transit to sign the papers to buy your new house guess what you don't have, homeowners insurance. So now I feel scammed on this insurance policy i paid for, I am out my 1500$ mountain bike, my wife's bike was thrown aside and damaged, our personal belongings were ransacked by some vandal leaving us both feeling very violated and I get the " Unfortunately we don't cover that" talk. On one hand I am at fault for not reading the fine print and better educating myself. On the other hand that is your job to understand my needs of your equipment and services, educate me on or review my purchase and then make sure I am as safe as possible during events like this. 6544 W Bell Rd, Glendale rental and storage location has been one of the most organized and well stocked U-Haul's, but they run out too! So many people want room temperature storage. Bell road/ front storage building entrance locks up 15 minutes prior to the office closing (be aware of the office hours), and doors cannot be reopened unless an alarm goes off. Best to use the back entrance with longer hours for access. Access is not 24 hours. My rental unit on second floor was far from any entrances and made the move in and out twice as long, lots of walking. Instruction board at back entrance mentions an elevator I thought, but none. Moving real household goods up the steps without any ramps, really sucks. Renter beware. Phoenix storage may be hard to find, so do not expect the "free month" of storage after renting a truck from U-Haul. Emails from manager: do not expect an email reply, just call or go into the office if any issues. Pay monthly rent on time, we saw a lot of lock-outs due to late or non-payment.LISA V. | Overall Experience

Uhaul lost our reservation and set our move back an entire day. We hired movers we had to pay even though we had no truck.When uhaul found our reservation they admitted their mistake and found us a truck all the way in Glendale. When we picked up the truck we were informed there were no furniture pads (which we ordered over two weeks ago), the clerk didn't apologize or offer any alternative. He had no sense of urgency and moved at a snails pace. Then because of the almost 5 hour truck delay the monsoon hit and we had to load our truck during a violent rainstorm. The next morning when my was driving the truck from Phoenix to L.A, something was wrong with the suspension and the whole truck jerked and shook dangerously the entire journey. He took multiple videos along the way. When we returned the truck today the clerk said there was definitely a suspension issue with the truck and remarked that my husband could have been seriously injured. The drop off clerk instructed us to file an insurance damages claim for items damaged because of the truck and lack of ordered but out of stock furniture pads.Zach O.

The Mgr on duty. Was not nice at all. Insisted on the fact that a new trailer 6x12 was not the same as the old one. Said that the new one would not fit my side by side I took the new one and it fit perfect. And he also said at pickup that he wishes all the ttrailers had a jack on them like the new one. The jack was very helpful. On return he changes his story to the fact all the trailers were going to no jacks so the customer can't remove off the vehicle. That doesn't make sense at all. What happens if you need to take it off? I don't think I will rent from that facility again. He is an ass â€"â€"Donald M.

I was originally given a 10' truck that was filthy, 3/4 tank of fuel and the A/C did not work (it was 117 degrees out!). We had to go to another location to get another truck. Please, please reduce your per mile rate for distances over local (40 mile range). Rate should be less for distances grater than 40 miles. I recently had to pay $280 for 10' truck to pick up storage and deliver to cross town Phoenix area new location. Cost per mile should be less for longer round trip transport. The staff all need to be fired! I waited 45 minutes to have my trailer hooked up, but only after I went to the office two times to remind them I am waiting to be hooked up! I gave that location $900.00 for a 6x12 trailer! My service was inexcusable! The first time I went in there to come out and hook up the trailer three staff members were on their phones leaning on the empty boxes having a circle jerk! Then they check in a truck that came in after me! FYI staff told me all the lights were working on the trailer, but I got pulled over by a state trooper on my way to Flagstaff twice! The first time for lights and the second time for a chain dragging, because the chains were on wrong!Jerrold R.

The customer service at time of rental was lazy unprofessional and rude. The team at this location went above and beyond! I purchased boxes before heading out of town to the location where I picked up the truck. The employee was kind enough to help load them in the trunk of my car. Which was very challenging since I have a 2 door car. It was the middle of the day in Arizona, so it was very hot as well. His extra efforts is much appreciated. When I returned the truck Karen was extremely friendly, professional, and helpful with my unique requests. I will definitely recommend this location!Melissa Q.
We were told boxes would be picked up from our driveway on Monday but did not get removed until Tuesday which caused us some problems with our HOA.Daniel D.
The truck was dirty with lots of damage. The a/c cut in and out. check out staff was great. When I returned the truck staff was inside which was fine because it was 110 outsaid. They told me to wait outside and someone would come out. 15 mins later someone came out and checked the truck in. I told them about the a/c cutting in and out and he did not care. They email the receipt and charged me for gas. I got gas on my way back to the center and it was at the same level it was when I picked it up. I called to talk to them about this and was on the phone with them for approx 20 mins while they looked for the truck. They said truck did not have same amount of gas so that is why the charged me. I was told it was my problem because I did not take pictures of the gas gage when I picked up and returned. Told the manager again about the ac problem and he did not care and said it was my problem. This location is nice and close to my house so this is why I used them but will drive further next time and use a diffrent locationJanet M.

I rented a car dolly. When I put my vehicle on it the passenger side tire was very low. It took a very long time to get any help. I got air and retired to the UHaul store and it took a very long time for them to figure out what to do. They finally traded out the dolly but it took several hours to get on my way. Not good.Gary G.

The service tire warning light was on all the time. Tires were checked and pressures were OK in all 4 tires. Since I was using for a short trip of 10 miles I used it. This is a critical warning and before I would get on a long distance drive I would want it fixed.Ronald R.

Dylan was very helpful at the counter when we explained our predicament to him and the location generously covered some extra miles for us to solve the issue. There was another gentleman who helped us return the trailer. He was kind, quick, and efficient. Later that evening, we came back to return the truck and a younger gentleman helped out. He was pleasant and demonstrated that same efficiency with the truck return. Definitely great customer service and care was exemplified and executed by the whole staff here. Very thankful for the storage unit opportunity and safe, clean building with an area in back to "share," that is kept between 65-85 degrees. LARGE storage facility with 2 buildings. An available unit was in the middle of front building on second level, no ramp or elevator - only stairs, front loading entrance (to other side) with no ramp from parking lot to curb, and I have a sprained ankle. Those working in the office were very nice and helpful!! Moving help took longer because of the building challenges. FYI building in front closes and locks for both entrance and exit prior to advertised closing time on Sunday at 5pm (Be done by 430pm and no later than 445pm). Last load had to be pushed around building to back door loading dock, other tenets explained how to enter my code in 2 different places, pushed load through back building to front building, and then unloaded. Parked in back, truck return on side, office in front, and after 2 long days, the extra walking around the building twice was unfortunate. 1st month storage fee waived if U-Haul truck rental, but I forgot to mention it, even though both reservations were made at same time. We set up the rental online with an offer for a free month storage with truck rental. We got there early on a Saturday and had to wait about an hour in a line. The waiting was fine until we got to the counter and the offer was not honored by the company. The person that helped appeared fed up with the issue and immediately called the office manager. According to the manager, corporate only honors the offer on a "business need basis and that location was not honoring the deal." They couldn't call or speak about other locations so the options were to go wait else where for another hour or stick with them. Well, we stayed AND there were no locks either. We opted not to wait in line somewhere else while our stuff was in the car so we had no other choice but to go hunting for the lock to get everything stored. I'm older and needed a ground floor unit, climate controlled! The guy helping me found me one but the manager wouldn't approve it. He would only offer me a not climate controlled unit, which was not an option. I had to cancel the whole move in! Found a unit that met my needs for less money with another vendor! All are good with the exception of steps going to the storage itself. A ramp would've help alot in this situation. 1hr load took 3hrs for 1person. I reserved my unit online but was asking me to upload my home owners insurance since I was doing this from my phone I decided to walk in.. the guy who help me wanted rude but kept telling me I was second on the reservation list. I told how is that possible I have it for today. We kept going back and forth I was getting upset I was asking for a manager when then he realized that he was incorrect and proceeded with the reservation.. he then said I would need to pay for a lock I advised him that it said on internet shows that it was free.. he then said because I walked in had to pay for it..
