I've been a U-Haul customer for several years. Recent changes to the check-in/out process with the use of smartphone technology has definitely enhanced the service and reduced the sometimes long waiting and lines at the customer service counter. Dispute some frustrations with U-Haul over the years, I have continued to come back time and time again, as I suspect I will continue to do into the future. Their pricing, availability of trucks and trailers, and overall good maintenance of their equipment will continue to bring me back. I appreciate U-Haul, because I don't have to be concerned with storing/parking, maintaining, insuring, or DMV renewals if it were my own equipment - if I need it, U-Haul always has it ready when I am.Douglas M.

Rented a 6x12 trailer. Waited almost an hour to finish rental contract and get hooked up. Loaded most of it myself because I was tired of waiting. A guy helped do a few things. He did the light check and said I was good to go. Turned out of parking lot, and the loading gate fell down. Wasn't secure when I left. Pulled over to lift it back up. While back there, noticed that the gate opening was not 6 feet wide. Measured the opening and it was only 4ft wide. Turned around, went back into the parking lot. Explained to the guy I needed a trailer that was 6ft wide. He said to go in and talk to some guy with a beard. 8 people inside the office. Waited 30 mins, and still wasn't helped. Apparently the process takes 1 hour per customer I guess. Another guy was sitting down and making phone calls to schedule people in for some sort of service. No idea what that's about, but let's be honest with one another. When there are that many people waiting to be helped, those phone calls could be made at a different time. I went back outside and just had the guy unhook the trailer. It was useless to me. I asked for another trailer, he said only the people inside could help. Went back inside and waited for another 30 mins, still couldn't get any help. Same counter guy with the same customer he was helping for over an hour. Same bearded guy, still not helping anyone and just making phone calls. UNREAL!! I went back outside. Guy checked in trailer, AND HE CHARGED ME FOR A FULL RENTAL EVEN THOUGH I JUST WENT A 1/2 BLOCK AND CAME BACK!! I would expect this type of service at an independently owned rental place. I was told this place was corporately owned and should have received better service. Maybe pay these guys a little more to give a damn, or let the whole crew go and start over. But to charge someone for a rental I didn't even to get to use is beyond ridiculous. Hope corporate is expecting my phone call Monday morning!!JAMES W.

The old man that rented the pick up was rude and unfriendly. When I went to add gas before returning the pick up the fuel receptacle had the valve broken so I could not insert the gas pump. The manager who fixed it by removing the broken valve was helpfulgeorge B.
Give a prompt refund of overpayments. I rented last Sunday and today is Wednesday. The refund of my deposit ($35.78 should have been refunded by now. Also, your technician didn't secure the trailer onto my hitch and it fell off the hitch. Luckily while the vehicle wasn't moving. Inside truck smelt like marijuana. A better system to get rid of the smell needs to be done. Made me feel sick.Janice G.
Staff was rude and indifferent. Particularly the woman. The truck was filthy inside and out and we took three different sets of videos and photos to verify the condition before & after. The drivers seat had stains from milk or some whitish crusty fluids. You advertise a 20.00 truck that turned into 80 after charging 15 for 3 gallons of gas and fraudulent purchase charges. We were told to have truck back by 6:45 or it would be a self check in. I pulled up to the return area at 6:30 and had my son take photos while I went inside to return the keys. The guy comes in, takes the keys and said he assumed we were doing self check in because my son was taking pictures. I said no, we were back before 6:45 and it was parked in the return area. He toook keys and said we could leave. When we left he and the girl were in the cab of the vehicle I assume doing an inspection. I had to call the next day and get 15.00 removed for a purchase that I never made, and was not itemized on the invoice. I totally would not come back as a return customer to this or any other location.David L.

The storage facility is built like a maze and was rather inconvenient to get our stuff to. It was new, secure, clean, but we had to take several turns to get to the unit. I waited in line for 45 minutes for a check in I filled out online and a reservation I was on time for! When I finally got to the service desk I had to have a secondary contact which threw me off guard and had me calling distant relatives putting them on the spot with the urgency I had in my voice as I was now late to my final destination. All in all worst service, feet shuffling, slow snail pace walking staff I have ever seen. I felt like I was on a Dave Chapel episode in the Pop Copy skit.Andrew T.
I didnt like that the only time slots for pick up were in the early am hours. I had to pick up at 12am and return at 4am. Does that sound right to you? It was very difficult. Chris was very helpful at addressing issues we experienced with our move out. A+++ for his assistance!! The lady who checked me in, initially was lovely. The reasons I would not recommend this facility are: 1) poor staffing relative to the volume that this location experiences. This site has been like this for years. You make money by providing substandard service because you can. 2) flooded storage area, then difficulty reaching staff to find out what happened because.....#1. 3) I suggest someone do a walk-through at night to ensure that vehicles on remote pickup are accessible and that late night dropoff spots are clearly marked. 4) When there's a problem and the manager is unreachable that speaks volumes about what is important and it's not the customer. No dedicated troubleshooter on call after hours? Check. My new storage is with an independent chain, and people could not be nicer. I really like dealing with real people and not people reciting corporate scripts. They called to follow up with me on moving day and made themselves available after scheduled office hours when they knew we were running late. WOW!! This uhaul is somewhat saved by the people here who manage to care despite the hurdles to doing so. I deeply respect those doing a good job under these circumstances. You are front line workers. I'm sorry you have to deal with what you deal with Better staffing will alleviate the negative google reviews because people who aren't so stressed can do a better job. Customers who can anticipate better service don't come in primed to make sure everyone around them has a bad day. Other than this location being a little overwhelmed by high demand and low staff, this is an excellent location. Starting with the fairly young manager Duncan Vaughn. He goes out of his way to guide and take care of your needs. With our few hundred mile move, truck and tow dolly drop off. Also making our reserved storage space possible after some hiccups in the UHAUL system. Reserved a storage unit at a location in Fresno, CA and was later told that the unit was no longer available and that the only storage option was an hour away in Visalia, CA. We drove all the way out to Visalia and were told our reservation did not appear in their system, even though I had the Reservation Number and provided it. Refusal of billing staff to properly maintain customer information, direct payment for storage units, and still receive late notices for unpaid invoices. Extremely frustrating! Office managers being placed in no win positions by upper management, resulted in lost time, extra effort by the customer. Rental vehicle was filthy and tech on the truck did not work. Very disappointed with Uhaul, after several rentals and storage ventures, this by far was the worst!
