I chose mobile pick-up option to make it faster, more convenient and easy to do. When I got there my truck was blocked by another. I told a worker, and he did nothing, literally kept walking. I know he was busy I saw him, but he could tell â€œgive me 5 minutesâ€ or â€œI'll be back with youâ€ instead I was left guessing what to do next for a while. My gf then went to tell him and same thing happened. After around 15 minutes he finally got back to us, moved the truck and told us we have to go inside to the counter to ask for the key. That wasn't supposed to work like that. Then once I came back to drop the truck, the other worker was also rude, I wanted to ask something and he would interrupt with â€œjust leave your key on the truck and we will email your receiptâ€ independent from that being the question. Answered that 3 times in the middle of my question.Bruno M.

It needs more store front personnel and cashiers. The only cashier was attending customers needs with rentals as well as handling the customer contracts. It was good to have the text U-Haul contact information handy, it really helped to communicate with customer assistance that way.Rosa P.

Two things for improvement: 1. additional help to move customers through the line would be beneficial (I know the hiring climate is tough right now but additional team members would be timely). 2. there needs to be a way to contact the office, i.e. direct phone line. When I went to pick up my reserved van with the email/contract in hand, the young man behind the counter told me it wasn't valid and I would be paying almost twice the amount due to the mileage I was driving. He was unhelp, unclear, unmotivated to help resolve or try to understand the issue and overall very frustrating. Thankfully, the man who was working outside getting vehicles for customers was able to assist me and very quickly got me the van and told me the information I had via the emailed contract was correct. The van was clean and just what I needed for my trip but the initial experience with the first young man was very bad.Barbara N.

I'm trying to figure out why they're charging me $48 for 2 days at $16 a day on my motorcycle trailer when I've rented this many times before I'm hoping they will readjust that so the proper amount is taken out because it should not be $48 it should be quite a bit less for two days and I brought it back at 10:25 in the morning so I only go for 2 days at $16 and some change a daySHAWN R.

Employees were slow/lackadaisical (no sense of urgency). Didn't pick up the phone (I waited 15 minutes on the line). Didn't enunciate when speaking to me at the front desk. Zero friendliness. Left debris and cleaning supplies in the truck. Sent me a link asking me to upload photos before I left with the truck, but there was nowhere on the webpage to upload them. Then I was given an error message when trying to proceed with the checkout. Otherwise, the truck was in great shape, worked well, and had modern features that exceeded my expectations. I love the online scheduling system and checkin/checkout system on the whole. This location just needs more and better staff.Matthew S.

Customer service needs improvement. The Uhaul representative who handled my transaction modified my reservation without notifying me, and made it appear I did the modification. Although I had registered on line, created an account, submitted a credit card and authorized to pick up the truck on line, I was forced to deal with a very rude counter clerk, wait over 45 minutes, answer all questions that I had already filled out on line!!! The truck was not checked out by personnel outside, simply walked away, no help in answering questions! Would not recommend nor return.Marvin S.

The guy at the counter who was supposed to check me in was least bothered to route me through the right steps, throwing attitude at me and was coughing and sneezing without a mask. The employees were absolutely unprofessional, the employee who hooked up the trailer was on his phone. There was a tail light out on the trailer from leaving because there was a frayed wire connection. There were no pictures in the last two times that trailer was rented, and they tried to charge me for damages that we did not do. I absolutely will not be renting from u-haul again, especially the Metcalf location.Angel R.

I have used this location many times, always five stars. Not this time. Checking out took longer than I remember. Only one person and there were several in line. Two people checking out would have been nice. Ghecking in Sunday, May 30 ws a DISASTER. The line started forming about 8:40 and by 9:00 I counted 21 parties waiting in line. Again only one person working checkout and he was very slow. His walk to the printer and back to his work position was infuriating. If this was my first visit to this facility, I wouldn't return. The truck I used had a dolly and many pads in it...I didn't order them. Obviously the truck was not inventoried. I returned the items, but could easily kept them. Please improve this facility.ROWE E.
Too many BAD things...so I will * label a FEW. *For starters it took 1 hour 19 mins to even get the truck (AND I did early check in online). *After standing under the green awning we were instructed to stand at for the truck (in which I think they were jump starting, but I'm not sure which truck was getting the jump) 23 mins later, a man jumped out of "a" truck; nowhere near the awning we were under and walks away....it took another worker to tell us that was our truck. *The truck's transmission was slipping, so the truck only went 25-30 mph...but I'm moving 21 miles so I'll deal with it. *After loading a 26 ft to the brim the truck wouldn't start...you have to be kidding me!! They offered another truck....yeah right?? *So 2-3 hours later it was fixed, *All the calls I made were 40-50 min long waits, and I had to call 4 times *All my food thawed while waiting for the repair, so now it's no good. *I ended up having to pay my movers 4 hours more than anticipated (THANK GOD THEY AGREED TO STAY) *After all of that, the truck I THOUGHT I only needed till 6pm ended up taking us till 10:30pm....now, I'm so over this!! *Worse moving day ever, and I had plenty of help; it was the truck!! I will NEVER use this location; maybe company again!!!!Terra L.

the young man at the counter mumbled his way through the check-in and I couldn't understand him. He said nothing about there being no hard copy paperwork, just pointed to the door. I couldn't even understand where he said to go. The young man who brought the truck around just pointed at it and walked away. When I asked about a walk around, he said I could do it if I wanted, and then walked away. The truck was dirty and grimy inside, the windshield was filthy and covered with smashed bugs. The shocks and springs on the truck truck were shot and this made the ride, unloaded, so bouncy it was hard to control. I was afraid to load some of the things on it for fear the rough, bouncy ride would damage the electronics and break the glass. I won't go back to this location again, and will think twice about using U-Haul again. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if you refunded my money, I certainly didn't get much, if any, value out of it and couldn't load a lot of my things in it.Stan W.

The only issue was not enough staff on hand to handle the long line of customers on a Saturday morning. Many of those waiting had made reservations and still had to wait at least 30 minutes. The United States chaplains office always looks forward to dealing with U-Haul on Metcalf as a matter of fact in the mid-80s I used to work for that U-Haul store I enjoyed working there but I moved on but I will always rent from them and they always have a smile on their face when I see him and I always thank them for their hard work and for being right there and helping me with anything I need these are great guys and gals and I appreciate them and they are definitely needed in the Overland Park Kansas area.Shawn R.

Location was great to work with. I went in to get my reserved trailer to then figure out I was at the wrong location. They didn't hesitate to get it transferred over to their location. Then while hooking up the trailer, I had a fuse that was out. They scrambled to find a fuse that came out of a personal truck. These guys were nothing but great. I highly recommend this location. The customer service provided is something you rarely see anymore. Great to know it still exist.Robin S.

Reserved ahead and check in on line. Very easy and efficient. Wow, when I arrived the trailer was staged and ready to go. But no no no, I had to wait in line for 45 min to check in with my credit card again, show my drivers license again (already scanned). Why couldn't the guys outside simply scan my drivers license bar code for verification purposes. The whole efficiently got short circuited. How can something so perfect fall so FLAT. What a waists! The outside team was excellent in helping me with my new vehicles lighting. I've used U-Haul 2-3 times every year for over thirty years. But you guys wouldn't appreciate that as you don't keep records. You guys now have the tools, training and qualified people, just a poor people process.Kerby B.
