The truck stunk like someone had smoked in it and then it was sprayed with aerosol to cover it up. The truck had barely a 1/4 tank of gas in it. The customer service was exceptionally slow when I picked up the truck and when I returned the truck the drop off point sign stated to wait in the vehicle for an attendant. After sitting there for 5 minutes I went inside only to find the 2 employees chatting away with each other. When I did go inside they didn't even acknowledge that I was there and I finally had to interrupt their conversation to ask them what I needed to do to finalize my return of the truck.

Could a stand up sign(s) be put at the driveways to say "Enter" or "Exit"? There seems to be some confusion. If I have made a reservation, the trailer should already be pulled out and ready to be hooked up. Maybe there needs to be an additional employee to do this, though, since it always seems to be short handed. This is a very busy place!

The truck had a bottle of juice inside. Also your app to do self check in/out is so glitchy and outdated. It had a difference of 2000 miles from what the odometer actually had. Also it showed 7/8 of fuel and the actual fuel was 3/4. I had to take a picture in order for me to submit the info but the app wasn't allowing me to open the camera and it was raining very strong for me to get some one to verify that. When I return the vehicle it showed that I drove the vehicle for over 2k miles. Over all I hated doing self check out, never using it again.

I would only recommend this location to a friend because it is close. Other than that this store is dirty and over crowded with product the employee that helped me was rude and unhelpful when asking questions about the additional insurance. The truck was dirty on the outside and inside the cab. The truck had a rear light burned out and the stereo was completely broken. Again upon return I notified the employee and he could care less. Not an I'm sorry, not a discount for no stereo or dirtiness not anything just "if you're ok with a email receipt you are free to leave". Definitely not the best rental experience.

There was a discrepancy with the fuel gauge pre/post reservation. I will be more mindful of looking at the fuel gauge and taking a photo for return as I was charged for gas which I placed in the vehicle. Mistakes happen. I would use this location again.

The lady that helped me was wonderful and personable she even opened the store door for me and had the place smelling like christmas. Only critique was the truck didn't have a pull out ramp which I would have preferred and made moving harder without a discount or a heads up.

I was not made aware that the card used to hold the reservation was physically needed to be swiped/charged on the day of pick up. Need better communication

Everything went well in the drop off process. The only hiccup was that when you pull in, there's a sign that says to park, and wait in your rental until a representative comes to you. I waited in the vehicle for about 5 minutes, and no one came out. I went inside to complete my return.

It was busy and the two people on staff had their hands full. I also placed my order for pick up and drop off in Gig Harbor which was confirmed but was called just before my pick up time and told that I would need to pick up my truck in Tacoma which added 30 miles at 70 cents a mile to my bill.

I called in to confirm a pick up on November 24 at 8 am. I also ask what I will need and the person says my drivers license and method of payment. I get there on said date and time, but low and behold the location is closed so I call the number and am told I had to self pick up. I’m already a little annoyed because it’s already 15 min past 8 and I had to meet my movers at 830 but I go through this long process only to be told that I had to have an alternate form of identification to get the truck or contact another person. I didn’t bring any of their required identification so I opted for contact alternate person and gave my wife’s number. She however is sleeping after a long night of work and doesn’t hear her phone ring (the number said scam likely anyways) and the approval person just says they didn’t answer and she needs another one. I then have to rely on other people to get the damn truck and by the time I look at my watch it’s almost 9 am and my movers had been waiting at the location since 830. I would have stayed and complained and opted not to take the truck at all but I really had no other choice. I’m never renting one of your trucks again because I had to pay my movers an extra $100 for waiting past the agreed upon time. Until you remedy that, you will never get my business

The trucks alignment was off, it was not clean, it was delivered to me completely out of gas and I was expected to return it with 1/4 tank, after hours retuning was unsafe and complicated.

Gas was 1/16 tank at checkout. Yard had no gates, gas tanks do not lock, and it is likely that gas is siphoned regularly in this location. Staff should check gas level prior to doing check out paperwork. I got 1.4 miles down the road and realized that when I was told by staff the tank was full, it was not. Staff were excellent otherwise. Better than other locations I have visited in the past.

10 foot moving truck needs an EZ ramp

The fellow who met me in driveway was unpleasant. I appeared to be driving my car up to the front but he rudely told me, with a staring look, I was going in the way. It was totally unclear what was right way and what was not, therefore I smiled at him and he came over towards my car, still with a very unpleasant glare and said louder that I was going the wrong way. I smiled and he glared, again, at me without moving a muscle on his face. The young lady at the counter was quite nice, efficient, made eye contact and smiled. There was a cleaning cart behind the van I was renting and another couple so we had to manouver that around away from both vehicles as well as a terribly hard to move yellow stanchon of some sort. Sorry, have not a clue what it was for but it was danged hard to move.

Oh my, you couldn’t BE any better! Every step of the way, every employee was just exceptional! Corie at the front desk, and the two gals that helped with check in, & check out, the wonderful young man with cool dreads who came and helped 2 anxious old folks figure out adjusting the mirrors-everyone was so friendly, knew their stuff and reassured us all along the way. We left for Seattle feeling very confident. And after much anxiety about which size truck we really needed, Corie was spot on after looking at a photo I showed him, and we got the absolute perfect truck for what we needed. I will recommend Uhaul to everyone looking for a moving truck or trailer, and this Uhaul store on 12 & L in particular. What a great experience for us and such a reasonable price too. Staff at this location were extremely rude and need training in customer service. Be warned that if you plan to rent, have your references available via telephone to speak to staff, or they will not rent to you. I have rented many times at UHaul without such crazy expectations. Yes, I have plenty of references. All of these references are AT WORK and cannot necessarily take a phone call so that I may rent at this establishment. Direct questions were ignored by staff or given answers that were vague and off point. Please rent elsewhere!

The remote check-in seemed entirely pointless... If I'd known how long it would take, I'd gladly have just gone inside to begin with and interacted with a real person. The reason I chose it was for the assumed ease and speed, but it took so long I actually went inside to ask if this was normal. Not to mention, you have to go in to pick up a key anyhow. I think the remote check-in is a nonstarter, guys. Everything else was normal, good, to be expected. Thanks!

The staff working at this location are friendly. It was inconvenient that they don't answer the phone though. We tried several times to get through, only to be routed to a generic Uhaul helpline. Also, by no fault of the staff here, the location is not the best. It's in a pretty rough part of town, making it more concerning to do an after-hours drop off of the equipment.

We were NOT told the U-Haul had to be returned by 7 am or we would be charged for another full day. It was returned before 10 am, so we paid for another full day ( because that was not explained). I guarantee we will never use U-Haul again.

A few things: I had a confirmation over the phone for a same day rental. She told me 10:45am for pick up. We showed up at 1115 and were told it was a 4pm reservation. Caused a lot of frustration. No one looked over the truck prior to us leaving. It was backed into the parking space. After driving all the way home we realized no one ever shut the back door. It was wide open and thanks to the pouring rain, the entire inside was soaking wet. We had to take the time to dry out the entire truck before we could load. We rented two budget trucks for the same move. Those trucks were very nice to drive and performed very well. The Uhaul paled in comparison. Miserable to drive

I had reserved 2 dozen blankets and a dolly and they only had 1 dozen blankets and no dolly. I had to drive to a downtown uhaul location with the trailer attached to get the other 12 blankets and a dolly.

The truck was very dirty. The text message I got to document the damage to the truck was unclear. I tried to get someone to help me and they gave me bad info. It was very frustrating. Also I had reserved an appliance dolly. Even after confirming my reservation 3 times they had no dolly there. I had to go to another location to get one. The time involved put me very far behind my schedule. I had movers that I was paying by the hour waiting for me. The whole experience was stressful and expensive. There were problems with the crew I hired from your online moving help.com. I would like to speak with a district manager about the entire experience.

I reserved a 6x12 covered trailer a few days ago. When I got there, I was told that they had a much, much smaller trailer there for me. I ended up wasting a lot of money renting a truck which cost a few times more than I planned on spending, including bridge tolls and gasoline. I am very displeased.

The inside of the truck smelled like an ashtray. The steering wheel and the drivers door were covered in pop, something I didn’t notice until I had already driven away and moved my hands on the steering wheel and they came back sticky. The truck was parked next to a tree, and I mean RIGHT NEXT to a wet tree so I got wet getting into the truck.

I wanted to pick up the truck Saturday morning at 9:00am, on Friday they texted me to pick up at 10:00am. I had already scheduled people to help me at 10:00. When I got there at 9:30, the National computer system was down, So I had to check out on my iPhone. The system kept kicking me out and no one there knew how to help me. They had no Manuel system to check me out and they could key it in when the system was up and let me go move. People coming in were very upset, cussing and walking out. I ordered 2 packages of blankets on Tuesday, on Saturday they did not have any to let me use. I did not get the truck home until 11:45. Very frustrating situation!!!

The computer was acting up so it took practically an hour to process the rental, and I had guys waiting to help with the move who complained about it throughout the day. Other than that, it was all good. The employees there did their best to make a bad situation better, they deserve badges of honor just for working with that system!
